Blockbuster App Question - Leak and OTA - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I downloaded the leak version that was later confirmed to be the OTA. However, the leak was debloated and did not have the Blockbuster apk. When I try to install it now (I got the apk from the Synergy rom because it is not available for me in the Market), I get a message that says an immediate update is required. When I try to update it, it says that it is not compatible with my device. Any ideas? Obviously, I am rooted.

Won't work with sense 2.1 it was rebuilt by apktool to work on 3.0 I believe. Go to Android police download full RUU unrooted....unzip it and take what ever you want from that.

Well, I tried that and it did not work. Can anyone running the rooted OTA use Blockbuster?

The version that I have is 1.1.84. Apparently there is a new version - 2.4.10. But, the market will not let me update. As of this morning, I am running the leak OTA with stock apps -- only change is that it is rooted. Anyone have the new apk?

Problem Solved
I was able to find a link in the Market for Blockbuster 2.4 for HTC. It installed and is working. The only bad thing is that it has the TamperDetected warning about not being able to download or playback encrypted content because the phone is rooted.

Can I Root after getting the MR4 update? And how?

I just want to see if I can know Root my Eris after receiving the MR4 update, and if so how I would go about doing it. I'm just not clear on how things are working with this new update so if there is already a thread specifying, redirections would be much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!!
As long as you have ADB working and the newest JDK installed, then this should work for all Eris builds:

This did not work for me while rooting my buddy's Eris with the Mr4 update, just wanted to let you know. I tried 5 times, and root did not persist. I ended up gaining root with the leaked 2.1 root method. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724741 - He did not have the leaked update installed as he just installed all the system updates as they came in. I told him to stop doing that for the time being

[Q] I'm new to Droid and I'm totally lost about GB update

Helo guys, I used to own a Samsung Galaxy S, and last week I got the Droid X2 from Verizon. So now I'm seeing new terms being used like sbf, debloat, freeze, etc...
My DX2 is root and I also have the V6 Supercharger, and I still can't get the GB update.
I believe many users on this forum have the same case as mine, so can anyone give us steps to follow in order to get the update.
Thank you so much
sbf back to stock using rsd.
download the gb update, flash in recovery
look under general in Droid x2 forums

I came from a similar situation. I just got the x2 as a replacement for my fascinate due to repetitive missed call issues. I updated to Gingerbread today using the tips on this forum & the file posted to the mediafire link. The first thing you'll need to do for this update to work is undue all the non-stock modifications you've done.
Unsupercharge
Unfreeze or replace any stock apps you may have uninstalled. This is where the sbf comes in, it's the stock image that was loaded when it left the factory.
Unroot, might not be necessary but its better safe than sorry. Especially since this update is unrootable atm.
Rename the downloaded file update.zip & put it in the root of your sdcard-ext.
Flash from the stock recovery & you should be good.
Whatever other info you need, search these threads-its in there somewhere.

So the sbf brings back the DX2 to its original settings and apps?

The SBF does infact restore you to stock 2.2.2
It should also be the first thing you do when you get the phone (before rooting etc) It blows my mind that people would mess with their device without doing an SBF at least once.
The SBF will usually require you to battery pull at the end, go to stock Android recovery and wipe data and cache. (unless you did that before running the SBF)
On Vista and Windows 7 make sure you right click RSDlite and choose to "run as admin"
Everyone who did the OTA or the 2.3 update from here at XDA and wants p3droids rooted update is going to have to SBF momentarily. We should get rooted 2.3 this afternoon according to p3's twitter
I unrooted my phone and uninstalled the Supercharger, I sbf'd back to stock Froyo successfully, and still I can't get the update. What else should I do?

GREAT, you have completed step one. Do not load anything else on your phone. You will not be getting a over the air update.
You have more work to do to get 2.3.3 on your phone.
Just follow the direction at this link.

Just to be clear.... He should eventually get an OTA update if he waits long enough. But he won't be able to root it. So follow the link above, and do those steps to install the rooted version of the update from 3Pdroid.
(Yeah I know that's obvious, but the title of this thead DOES include the words, "I'm Totally Lost". )
Thanks all, I'm on the pre-rooted GB now
Much appreciated

[Q] In Store Update? Can you copy the ROM?

Has anyone gotten their rooted MT4G updated in store? Do they let you copy the image so you can reflash?
I posted this on the wrong thread and can't find how to delete it/move it.

If you're rooted you don't need the OTA....If you want a rooted version of it use Generation X stock rom that's in the dev section....But if you want a rooted version of the sd update i have one here
http://www.multiupload.com/I7SYBR0L40
The actual sd build from the store is here

I never thought to ask, that but I doubt they would for some reason

Ace42, I tried one of the posted "official" rooted deodexed ROMs and it was missing the mail application which means it wasn't stock. Is your first link the stock ROM, just rooted? Thanks!

The 1st one is a rooted one and the second is nonroot and will unroot the phone. And the 1st link is based off the OTA of the 2nd link. It should have mail in it-I had the mail widget setup before, I had it when I tested the ROM the other day, perhaps wipe everything again and flash the rom again. If you check the zip file it contains everything, nothing was removed from the build, except myaccount since it was an older version anyway.

Ace42, thanks a lot. This rooted version of the OTA update is very different than the one I installed previously based on Football's release. Running perfectly, thanks! I was running Virtuous Unity, but the latest release had massive battery, wifi and 4G data issues. So far, so good on the rooted-stock version in your link. Again, thanks!

[Q] Does AT&T FORCE ROM update to the Note?

If a new ROM is available, will AT&T force the update to the phone? I am worried if this happen while my phone is rooted, the root will be gone.
Will rooting PREVENT the forced update?
I am NOT planning to install Custom ROM, just rooted stock.
its ota it will be offered not forced.
also there are ways to disable the ota check that way you dont even see the prompts and can just wait for the community for a rooted stock rom.

Could you share this "ways to disable the OTA check"?
I just got my Note today and already I received a prompt saying that there is a new "AT&T Software Update". I have NOT rooted my phone yet.

OTA failed due to beats audio

Hello everyone.
This is my first post and unfortunately, I need help!!
My wife has a droid razr that got the early xmas jellybean update. Phone has been rooted as well. My wife decided to download all sorts of root apps and installed the beats audio app without backing her stuff up. Well now the official jellybean OTA is being pushed to her phone, and she cannot update. I have tried via OTA, and sideloading the file that I pulled.
This is the error she gets:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/lib/libwebrtc_audio_preprocessing.so", install aborted
Is there a way and can download the original files that were supposed to be there before beats changed it??
Thanks for your help!
You can flash back with rsd lite the complete firmware, that should restore it..

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like I know how to do that, sooo....whaaa? lol
Where do I need to download the firmware? Do I have to download one for the xmas jelly bean release?
Also, I tried downloading just the audio_.......... files off 4shared and replaced the one in my file system. That did not seem to do the trick. Do I have to have a specific copy of it??
Thanks

Look at the stickies in your phone thread and there should be a thread about reverting to stock. Just follow the guide there and you should be fine.
If it doesn't revert to the latest version then you will receive an ota notification. If you want to make sure you are on the latest firmware just go to setting-software update.
