[Q] Screen protector recommendations? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Am looking for a screen protector for my Galaxy S2, and wonder what people here would recommend?
Bought a Copter screen protector here yesterday, and am not too happy with it, feels a bit too sticky when touching for my liking.

[Q] Which one to order. Glasszone or Mercury?

Hey fellow xda's
Which one of the two tempered glass screen protection have minimum issues and best quality: Glasszone or Mercury?
I have the white galaxy s3, and i would like to apply a tempered glass screen protection with another color.
I have thought of ordering a original black battery door and a tempered glass screen protection to go with the styling.
I would like to turn my white s3 into a black one, because im tired of it being white and it easily gets dirty. :silly:
any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you use screen protector?

Hi everyone, I'm new at this forum, coming from a Galaxy Nexus. I like this phone, it has a beautiful design, I miss some things like HD res and notification LED, oh and of course the great development I'm used to with the nexus, but overall I think it's an excellent device.
Now the question is, are you using screen protectors? How is the gorilla glass doing? I've noticed it's very flexible if I press hard on the screen. I also do the question because mine has one, and I feel some lack of responsiveness, so I think it could be related to the protector...
Only moment when my screen has problems with "responsivness" is knock code unlock screen, but it is most likely knock code itself rather than screen problem. Also i don't use screen protector, it is different story when phone isn't shipped with gorilla glass, but this is not the case with G2 mini.

Hi, i have this device too, and i can say is, if you care about the screen yes, better have one in your little friend! Best to use is glass screen protector, i have one in mine and it does a pretty good job...already fall on ground 5 or 6 times but never brick the screen or the screen protector!
And one thing the glass screen protector does on this phone is the corners of the screen get curved by the protector itself, feel more confortable to handle in corners! i personaly recommend that!
My screen protector is this:

I bought a tempered glass screen protector. It arrived shattered so I got a free replacement. Based on my experience with them I would recommend you don't buy one. I used a regular screen protector for many months and it did not matter how hard I dropped it, the screen protector took all the damage. Then, the night I install a tempered glass screen protector, the phone falls 2 feet landing on carpet. The screen protector and screen both shatter. Don't know if it is just bad luck but learn from my story. Contrary to how they are advertised, they are not shatter proof.

Screen protectors?

Anyone found a decent screen protector for this thing?
There isn't a tempered glass screen protector for Galaxy View. which would easily be the best out there. There is plastic screen protectors which can be bought from Amazon USA or UK.
I bought one from USA this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017KZI3YW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it's bit tricky to put it on and a bag from China https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018W0O0MI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll give that one a try. Thanks. Reading the reviews on all the protectors available for this thing is discouraging.
It's very difficult to apply a plastic screen protector on galaxy view. I ruined my £18 screen protector I bought from USA because it was too difficult to put on. I'm not worried since my tablet screen doesn't have a single scratch at all without it
The illumishield installed good for me. Took a lot longer than any I've ever installed since it's a huge screen but it's bubble free with no flaws in it.

The best Screen Protector for the S8

Hi everybody.
I have been testing a couple of screen protectors in the past and wanted to share my experince with you.
The best one in my opionen is from SAMSUNG itself. It simply has the best quality. If you buy it on amazon its only $11. (http://amzn.to/2xGpWWs) I think for 2 screen protectors thats a good value for the money.
I even made a video review about it to tell what I like about it. If you are interested in it you can watch it here:

What are your experiences with screen protectors? I am curious. Share your opinions here
Though mine isn't really a screen protector, I am using the lifeproof case for my S8. Have been very happy with it. The screen protector built into the case is already curved so it fits easily. People have complained about issues with the curved part of the touchscreen and responsiveness. I have not experienced this issue at all. I have always had good luck with the Zagg Glass Protector with other phones, not sure how that is with the S8. Something to potentially look at for people.

I see. THe big problem with most of the screen protectors for me was that most of them could not hold to the edges and came off pretty early. So that's a big criteria for a good screen protector. THe one by samsung still covers my whole front after months which is one of the many reasons I like it so much.
Glass protectors are to thick and make the phone too thick in my opionion. But maybe I should give it another shot..
yes but glass protectors are designed to protect your screen in an accident, the normal film ones you have will not protect your screen from accidental damage, i presently have a htc phone with a glass screen protector on it and it has saved my phone many times as the glass screen protector cracked but the screen underneath was unmarked. I know have a samsung s8, i bought two glass screen protectors from amazon uk, the reviews were made by 72 viewers and almost 100%. i fitted the screen protector perfectly and it didnt stick to the curve edges and was very unresponsive to touch , i sent them back for full refund which i got. most importantly most of the reviews are fake reviews, amazon should stop this. ive left my feedback on amazon.
These flimsy plastic screen protectors make no sense to me. Your phone glass is already harder than anything you'll throw into your pocket. The metal on your keys and **** can't scratch your screen anyway and all these would do is protect from scratches by getting scratched themselves.
People want screen protectors to protect from cracking and shattering the phone not to protect from scratches. The screen is already mostly scratch proof unless you're rubbing it up against a pointy edge of some harder glass which I seriously don't think you'd be doing.
Anyone try Nano Fix it?

best Screen Protector for the S8
I almost feel bad that I underestimated the installation part as I almost wanted to throw the first screen protector I used. If done correctly and patiently, you will have a premium looking phone. Don’t rush it if you don’t want to regret it. So for you guys who are afraid of the “wet installation”, give it a try. It was a bit difficult for me, but I’ll do it again if it means maintaining the high quality of my Samsung Galaxy S8. And besides, the S8.

I bought this one, though I will give it a try. It works perfect and holds very strong as well. I bought same brand for s7 edge and it is the same quality.

i tested this one works perfectly
the guard actually sticks to the device via glue with UV just like whitestone one but is lot cheaper
I don't use any screen protector, I realized that touching and stroking the screen was very sensational.
I can totally agree with you. In the past, I've always used multiple screen protectors.
I have my S8+ device a bit over a year now and I can see only a micro-scratches, which are invisible in the daily usage.
Besides, what's the point of buying screen protectors for, let's say 50$ and replace them every year? I'd rather save this money and buy sooner the new, fresh model.
Hi. I would like to know what you all end up using on your screen. I just bought me an S8+ and are desperately looking for a good screen protector that i can use with a case.
Please enlighten me
