[Solved] [Q] com.sec.android.screencapture battery drain - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Recently I started having the problem, that when my screen is on, the process com.sec.android.screencapture is constantly draining battery. It's not listed under service tab or in advanced task killer, so I can't stop it. Does anyone know a fix for this? Thanks for help.
- VillainRom 2.3.0
- hardcore speedmod kernel k1-t40
- xxkg5 radio
- nex-s tweaks v10.3 installed

Nobody knows something?

If you don't particularly need the screen capture function you could freeze or uninstall it with titanium backup or a similar app.
Otherwise you could try and replace the screen capture apk with the one from the original rom.

Do you think if I update the rom, it will help?

I think most likely as I've never had any issues with this before. Villain 3.0 is out if you are interested.

After installing multi touch paint from market.
Sometime happens with other apps installed from sdcard or market.
Just installed, not yet running.
Forget to say, im using a rooted n1 with lastest modaco rom
Bye!
I can second this. It's happened many times, but nothing a reboot didn't fix. I'm not rooted yet though, stock 2.1.
My fix now is, open advance task man, uninstall the app, kill all = back to normality
you dont have to uninstall just reboot the phone and it fixes it everytime for me, although it's only happend once.
Or just kill-all in advanced taskman, but i uninstalled the app cuz i dont like it hehe
Just to try it
oh, okay i misunderstood your post.
Sorry hehe im spanish

Do a nandroid backup and then wipe your data. If the force closes go away, which they probably will, there was something messed up in your data partition. That fixes it for most people. If it doesn't fix it, restore your nandroid backup.
I posted this bug on the n1 forums. A very easy workaround is to change locale, go to the app screen then change back, fixes it for me.
All I do is use a task manager to kill Launcher. Then hit the home button and it's fine. No need to kill all or reboot.

The airdroid app

Hi,
When I use the Airdroid app, on my SGS2 it all works fine but when I put my phones desktop on the screen it looks all redish. Does anyone know why this is an perhaps how I can fix it? I'll include a SS to show you what I mean.
thanks,,

This has become a relatively common problem for the Galaxy S and Galaxy SII. It's been nicknamed The Red Screen of Death (How original).
From what I can tell in the other cases its been caused by a custom ROM. Are you using stock or a custom rom?
Some speculation is that it might be a bug with night mode. make sure this is disabled in the settings.

[Q] Resolution issues

I flashed this ROM yesterday and so far everything has been working great except for one little detail. A few applications are being stretched off the screen. The two I've noticed this on so far are the ROM OTA Updater and the market app Fishing Superstars.
I tried completely wiping everything and reflashing the ROM several times but it's never made any difference. I'm starting to get frustrated and considering trying another ROM (but I like everything else about this one). Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. I can't get the OTA Updater to come back up but it cuts off the "Accept" button so I can't ever do any OTA updates =/

What Rom are you using? The dpi maynot be set correctly for that app. It's more than likely a Rom issue.

I'm using SOS M | VER 2.6.1 found here. For reference, here is what the OTA updater (included in that ROM) looks like when I try to apply the ROM update.

Anyone have any idea? I'd post this in the actual ROM thread but I don't have 10 posts yet =/

[Q] Battery life question (Sola)

Last night I flashed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120374&highlight=battery&page=41. It's based on CyanogenMod 9. But now my battery is terrible. Any suggestions?

Try downloading greenify from playstore mate: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en
You will be able to hibernate background processes that makes can cause you battery drain.
Download Wakelock Detector and watch wich wakelock causes your battery drain tapping on android system after a complete charge and a 1 hour period of sleep. Then tell me which.

No, it doesn't. Some users installed a camera patch which seems to make deepsleep work.
Notice that the camera patch will not solve camera issue but will create some fake libs that will let deepsleep work.

Stuck on Android is starting/starting apps

So I went and restored my phone but it seems to be stuck on the optimizing apps/starting apps screen and won't go anywhere else? Anyway I can fix this? I've tried to flash a boost mobile (my carrier) stock rom but I get the same problem.

Which ROM/Kernel are you using? You can get better help if you post in that forum. If you're using stock rom, make sure you're flashing it in the right way, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/stocks-firmwares-moto-e-t3113235 for instructions.

@gameSTICKER has a good point. In addition, have you updated your partitions to the respective version of the ROM you are flashing? Out of curiosity, which build and version stock ROM have you flashed to your xt1526, are you using a custom recovery and, if so, what version?
