[Q] Downgrade PRI - HTC EVO 3D

Does anyone know where I can download the older PRI for my Evo 3D? I have upgraded recently and now I am not getting as good signal at my house not. Not sure if that's the reason, but I want to downgrade to see if it improves.

We haven't seen a released image of the original PRI. We've only been given the latest version of the PRI in the most recent OTA/RUU.
Unless we receive an old leak, we probably won't see an older version of the PRI be released.
Also, I've havent heard/seen much regarding a reliable PRI extraction method, i.e. a guide on how to extract just the PRI image from a device in order to obtain the older PRI version.
Sorry its not the best news, but hopefully it helps answer your question for now. If any PRI image is leaked/released, it will generally be posted up in the dev board.
Hope that helps!

[Q] OTA update questions

I'm currently 2.3.4 and am waiting for the Revolutionary 1.5 root tool. I know not to download the HTC software updates. But what about firmware, and PRL updates? How exactly does the PRL update work? Meaning that is it location based? Should it be updated from the location where I use it most, or have the worst signal, or does it even matter? And what exactly is the Profile update? Thanks.
firmware is hardware issues. Completely safe to do. PRL should always be done. don't play these radio games with XDA, they'll post radios and PRL's for you to download which will only damage your phone and brick the phone. Then if you ask anyone in the forums how to fix it, some one with 200 comments replies with "Did you flash it right?"
But yeah, the only thing you don't wanta do are HTC software updates.

[Q] OTA Update

Okay I got a notification that there is a system update available. I am currently at:
Android Ver. 2.3.4
HTC Sense Ver 3.0
Software number 2.08.651.2
Kernel ver 2.6.35.13-g84f8edd
PRI ver. 1.31_003
PRL ver 21081
H-Boot 1.5
I am not sure what this update is. I have not rooted yet, but plan to. I know I already have to use the HTC unlock, but want to make sure that this update will not keep me from using any of the methods we have to flash kernels. Anyone know what this update is and if it could prevent me from doing anything in the future?
Bob
The .3 update won't keep you from using htc's method.
It is the security update to patch some of the dangerous security holes caused by Carrier IQ.

I would never do any ota updates. any update worth putting on my phone can be done by the devs here.
Thanks. I have no need to root right now. I don't need to tether yet and the ROMs I want are not yet ready for the 3D. Plus I am hoping they come up with a way to do a full s-off rooting and don't want to do anything now that I cannot undo later.

[Q] Can't get 605.9 to stick

I rooted with Revolt. long time ago, and my ROM is Infectedrom.
Android v 2.3.4
HTC Sense 3.5
software 2.11.605.5
Baseband 1.48.000.0930w_3,0.01.78.0916w_3
I have hboot to the PG05IMG.zip several times and it contains the latest radio files and give me good updates on the hboot screen, but still no 605.9.
Any ideas would be helpful,
Ron
If im reading your post right, you have to flash a rom with 605.9 as its base. You flash roms through recovery not hboot. Flashing the radios will not change the software version..
Okay, slightly confused. How do I tell if I have the latest radio file versions? I thought the Software number was the radio files version, 2.11.605.5. What should I be looking for?
My rom (Build number?), InfectedROM Eternity (Nightly), is fine and I assume its the latest and greatest.
You got a noob here, but trying--you and me!!

Can you flash a radio using Clockwork?
The Software version is NOT the radio version. If you go into settings, about phone, software info, more info, you should see baseband version under the kernel version. The baseband version is your radio version.
The latest radio that came with latest OTA is 0.01.78.0916w_3

Thanks, therefore my radio is up to date (see first post). Can you unconfuse (if that is a word) me on what is 605.5 and 605.9 software version and where I should be.
Thanks for the reply,
Ron
605.5 and 605.9 are versions of the phone's official firmware, 605.9 being the most up to date. the newest radio in question was included in 605.9 as an update to the older radio, but it was extracted from that firmware release so that rooted users could update only the radio and not the entire firmware.
that's what you've done already.
if you're rooted and running a ROM that you like and works for you, there isn't any reason to upgrade your firmware version (especially since you've already installed the newest radio). if there are big features or changes in 605.9 that the developers want to include in their ROM, they will release a new version of that ROM for you to flash. also, 605.9 has caused most (all?) rooted users who accepted the upgrade to lose root.
basically - if you updated to the newest radio, everything works and you're happy with it, don't worry about it. keep an eye on your favorite ROM's thread for updates from those developers and don't sweat Verizon's official releases.
(please do correct me if I have any of that wrong!)

THANK YOU!!!!
I needed that education, but I am sure that was obvious. I will watch and wait my rom developer for additional updates.
BTW, the Rezound battery is GREAT. A little tight, and I should have polished the edges because it is gonna be hard taking it out.
However, thanks for that explanation....I feel so much better.

[Q] [Radio Question] What are you running?

Hey everyone. So I was just wondering what everyone has for their setup. I want to see if I can lock down on a better set up. Feel free to list what PRL your running and Radio.

With the BIG 'merica flag you have in your sig, I would hope that you know not to flash the GSM radios that he^^^ just provided you with.
Here are the cdma radios if you need them.

Quick RUU version question

Ok so I got the RUU links from THIS THREAD.
I have checked my radio and software version already. Now, I found the link for my radio (1.02.12.0427). However, the software version on my phone is 1.13.651.1 710RD. The RUU does not have anything like that listed. Is that the same as the 1.13.651.1 RUU? I do not know what the 710RD denotes and I do not wish to brick my phone or cause any unnecessary issues that I will then have to deal with.
Can anyone confirm that this is the RUU that I need?
yes thats the one u need.. i was thinking the same thing a few days ago when i had to flash a ruu.. your all set
