Using Titanium Backup i have froze:

You can simply go into Titanium Backup and under the Backup/Restore section at the top, find the desired app and click on it then choose to Un-install. I'd highly recommend a full backup of everything before you uninstall though just to be safe.

Refer to this. Might help. Since the ATT version is very similar to the euro version. So use at you own risk. I myself had removed everything green and had no problems.

In regards to removing the apps through titanium backup, just be careful because I attempted to remove some using ti and ended up soft bricking it.

What app was it you removed? I've removed many on this device and others and never ran into an issue unless the app itself wasn't supposed to be removed in the first place.
But yeah, definitely make sure it's something that's backed up along with a good nandroid backup to be double safe.

I took off faves, modes as well. Also amazon, setup, all themes, swype if you don't use it. I think that was about it. Make sure you do a good nandroid backup before you do it, so you can restore all of it if you need to take it back in for some reason.

Did you delete ALL your themes or did you just delete the ones you weren't using? Also deleting modes and faves didn't conflict with anything? I was kinda on the fence on these apps

With Titanium backup, you don't have to uninstall, if you want to keep them in case you need them later. You can simply 'freeze' the apps. This way, you keep them, they just go out of system memory and the icons will not show up either on your Launcher.

You cannot delete system apps via Titanium Backup. You can only backup the data. You will need Root Explorer or something equivalent to delete the system app. Make sure you make a backup first though.

Ti Backup cannot backup system apps - only their data. It can, however, remove them with the 'force remove' function.
But, a major +1 for freezing them instead. It might just save your ass, and it serves the same function as deleting the app anyway.
Can someone please share the htc lockscreen app from the app folder I mistakenly deleted it and the oden file

I wouldn't remove friend stream if you plan on using facebook. What happened, was the phone was constantly looking for friendstream to "sync" but since the app was gone, it never reported back as completing syncing...so i'd always have the circle with arrows "sync" in my task bar. got so annoying.
had no problem when I froze friend stream and still use FB.
Anyone know what the my device, my account and search people is listed under in titanium?
I can't seem to find them.
Also any one have a complete list of what can you can freeze or uninstall?
So far I only freeze but here is what I have:
AppPack Asphalt com.tmobile.theme x6 demo videos Faves x2 flickr Friend Stream x2 Gallery I use 3d HTC Weather locationPicker x2 Mail x2 Email account messager x2 my Downloads Provider (No clue what it does) my modes news x2 peep quickoffice ringtone trimmer rockband screen share setup stocks x2 t-mo tv themes provider (no clue what it does) TTS Service Twitter Visual Voice Mail Voicemail Weather x2 Weather Agent and provider
Has anyone uninstalled the genius button app after remapping the button to the search function? I don't use it at all and its always running...

[Q] Anyway to uninstall dell stock apps

I like using Titanium Backup to freeze apps that I want to get rid of, this allows you to see what effect that the absence of the app will have on your phone and if you want to restore the app for some reason you can just 'defrost' the app.
Some apps provide services for other apps, this is a good way to test that you don't delete something you need.

[Q] AT&T Bloatware list for removal after root

Now that we have root, Thanks to the awesome Da_G, I would like to know which bloatware is safe to remove from the AT&T rom...
I have Titanium Backup, and have frozen a dozen of obvious apps or so, but it seems that the list of installed applications and services is in the hundreds...
I am not sure which ones are safe to remove, and the ones that would affect the overall phone functionality.
Anybody has a list of the applications and services that can be safely frozen or uninstalled?
Thanks!

Are you loosing any functionality without it?
(SMS, Voicemails, etc...)
Any other apps worth removing?
Thanks.

[Q] Disabling bloatware / AT&T apps

I haven't seen a list of bloatware / AT&T apps that are safe to remove. So I thought I will ask:
- Which apps that you know are NOT SAFE to remove?
- I keep seeing in the task bar a double-arrow icon, indicating that an AT&T app is checking for software update. As a matter of fact, I did receive a message from it about a new software update. Which .apk I need to disable for this?
Again, this is only for the bloatware.
I deleted everything that had at&t in front of it. At&t messaging, my at&t, at&t navigation and the at&t update services thats the blue and red arrows you are seeing. I did this through task manager.

Thanks for the info. No problem so far with freezing these AT&T apps, including AT&T Update Services?
BTW, when you said "delete", did you mean "freezing it with Titanium Backup" or you actually REMOVE the .apk?
I froze the above apps using TB, but it is still shown in Google Play as being installed and needing update.
You can search XDA for "apps safe to remove". The SGS-II forums have a spreadsheet that works for the note.
Sent from my A200 using xda premium
With Google Play, the feature to DETACH from Market no longer works. So even if the app is frozen, it is still shown in Google Play, especially if there is an update.
This applies to ALL bloatware. After a while, you'll see tons of these in your Google Play list and you no longer can select
"Update All".
Can we SAFELY move the .Apk from /system/apps?
I deleted them. I froze them first and then deleted ecerything with at&t on it through task manager.

If you have root on your phone, many third party apps will allow you to delete them. A popular one around here is Titanium Backup. I highly suggest installing this and purchasing the key (although the free version will work just as well). Its a staple in apps to install for rooted phones.
I deleted them through task manager. I used the uninstall feature. Try it.

same here, social hub deleted and no problems........and of course all the AT&T crap since I'm with TMobile
Just a helpfull hint for safety.
Personaly I would use titanium backup (in batch) to freeze apps you may want to uninstall.. leave them frozen for a few days to ensure there are no problems.. if once your sure there are no problems you can uninstall them (delete).. Uninstall can be done most of the time though the task manager .. but if that does not work titanium backup will most defently do it..
As someone else pointed out.. I did a search for i717 app safe to remove and got this nice spread sheet..

A lot of the bloatware can actually be uninstalled. Just be sure to have a Nandroid backup ready (don't do this if you don't have a custom recovery and a backup), because uninstalling some things can cause a Security Error when you try to boot. I found out the hard way yesterday that uninstalling LGSmartcardService will cause that error, but I was able to remove a lot of other things.

Right. But the /system partition isn't really readily available for anything useful, so I settled with freezing it at the moment. I've heard of people running into trouble when actually removing the apps before as well, beware!
