Wolfnbreak V6 bug(s) - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have seen this bug mentioned a couple of times in the development section, but haven't seen any solution
I experienced it a couple of times already and the only way to "fix" the issue is to reinstall the ROM
After about a week of normal use, the circular battery gadget disappears and I am left with the battery percentage alone. After that, any reboot would erase my Google account settings from the phone, the lock screen would be gone and the home button would stop working
I did *not* touch with the settings (I saw Wolfbreak claiming that the bug is due to the user playing with that) andf I really don't want to install the ROm for the third time
Any idea would be appreciated
Cheers
P.S.: before you close this thread with a "post in right section", I can't post in the DEVS section as I don't have enough entries there.

I did experience the google account removal once but not the lockscreen problem. Also, the circular battery never worked for me, always just showed percentage. Suspect EDT tweaks might interfere.

I've lost all the accounts settings and my contacts once on wb v4.7. It is due to using data2sd. I stop using data2sd and everythings fine.

A few bugs with Trigger ROM v2.9.2

I've been running the new Trigger 2.9.2 ROM for a couple days now and it's got a few bugs I was wondering if someone could tell the ROM vendor about. (I'm new to XDA and I don't have 10 posts yet so I can't post directly on the thread.)
-The battery often displays the incorrect percentage remaining (if you reboot often on the ROM it will change as much as 30% either going up or down, and will sort of hang at that percentage until you reboot) (this happens in battery widgets, the "about settings" menu, and on the battery icon in the notification).
-There is no voicemail icon
Suggestion for update:
-BLN kernel mod?
P.S. I am NOT trolling here. Trigger is awesome and I am trying to get some advice about some serious problems I am having with the ROM... and yes I have tried wiping the cache/dalvik cache and fixing permissions and disabling and re-enabling voodoo.

You can flash one of the overstock kernels and have BLN.

Did you by chance uninstall visual voicemail? Or freeze it thru titanium backup?

It sounds like the 2 bugs you speak of aren't bugs otherwise they would affect everyone and many more people would be complaining.
The battery percentage is the reason why they give specific instructions on flashing with your battery at 100% as well as wiping battery stats at 100% and going through at least 3 full battery cycles. (Full charge then full discharge)
Voicemail icon is not showing probably because voicemail is not set correctly. Did you odin to JFD before you flashed?
If not it could have some strange hiccups like this because of it. Or if you want to try and fix it yourself go to Settings, Call Settings, Voicemail and make sure your settings are correct.

LOL if your trying to inform the Rom designer about Trigger 2.9.2, why are you posting your complaints here...
Post it under the Trigger 2.9.2 thread where he will be sure and see it... ????

Freezing or uninstalling Visual Voicemail will cause this.
Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure I odined to stock JFD before I flashed. Also, do you guys know why alarm clocks wouldn't be working correctly? I just found that out. Additionally, the phone no longer has the battery charging icon that shows up on the screen when the phone is off and plugged in.
I would download the rom again, odin to jfd and reflash with the fresh download of 2.9.2

I have this annoying bug in my Trigger 2.9.2. I think someone has the same issue as me in the forum but it seems not solved yet.
The bug is when you make call to USSD code. The notification sound volume will changed back to 30% (Default) no matter how many times you setup the notification volume level in the sound setting. However, SMS notification didn't affected at all.
Don't know whether this only happen to 2.2 ROM but I tested some 2.2.1 ROM it seems no sound came out & the volume level is the same as you set.
Anyone has this issue too?

[Q] A Few Questions on Apps and Rooting

Hey guys just got a few quick questions, I know there is a likelihood this has been discussed elsewhere but I've not found the resources.
As much as I enjoy seeing a green battery icon ... it isn't of much use without a value. What's the best way to change this icon BUT without flashing a custom ROM, I like my ROM the way it is.
It appears I messed up in uninstalling the apk files ont he stock ROM as I removed the Task Manager, what apps can I use o replace this. I just want something I can use to switch between apps and is BOUND to the home button (long press).
I'm considering removing the camera app and sticking with Camera360 as my ONLY camera app, would this be a good idea. I'm assuming the latter has the originals feature set and much much more so I'm not losing anything at all. Given I've updated the firmware the quality should improve regardless of which app I use right?
Can someone please explain to me why there are 4 voice apps?
On my Desire I remember I could tell the phone NOT to sleep if it were charging, but I can't seem to find this option anywhere, does anyone know the exact location or is there an alternative app?
Is it just me, or does the normal OTA software update option not work? I tried it several times yesterday and I either got a failed connection or it just hung and did nothing ...
On my Desire I had a custom ROM and when I pressed the off button I got an option to reboot, any idea where I can get that option back?
I know since 2.2 they removed the vib->silent->normal settings when changing volume but I really need to use silent sometimes anyone know a way round this?
That's most of my questions for now, thanks for your help guys :-D.
This is interesting because I am very interested in most of these questions as well. Here is my opinions on each.

I actually just found this one for KF3 so I'm going to test it in a moment
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215413
As per the camera, backups aren't my concern more of getting the best quality and featureset.
I will look into tasker, though I was looking for something very light as I only need this one feature.
Rather stick with stock ROM for now, at least until I get a JIG
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Sorry about that thanks.
Just as a quick update, reinstalled the Task manager app and placed the apk back in the system/app folder and it seems to work. Also the battery icon has been updated and looked great :-D.
[*]As per the camera, backups aren't my concern more of getting the best quality and featureset.
I think you underestimate Titanium, it does more than backups.
Oh I don't use Titanium for my backups, I like always starting from fresh, so my contacts, etc are backedup but apps and settings I always prefer doing from scratch.
I tried Camera 360 and unless I'm mistaken the quality seemed LESS than the default app, which was a let down. Maybe I will try again.

karan999's KF3 stock ROM with CF-Rooted KF3 kernel works perfectly, only concern is I feel like when I'm using the browser that the % drops like a rock in contrast to when I'm just doing normal activities like calls and text. In fact I can speak for quite some time and there's hardly a % change.

When you are browsing with WiFi in Stock browser then battery drains at a rate of 1% per 3/4 minutes. Try Opera, it's a little bit of less hogger

[Q] wake lag

ok, so I read around the web and xda and didn't found any reasonable solution to this frustrating bug...
when the screen is of, it takes around 1-2 seconds to wake up...regardless if I press home button or power button...
I tried stock rom, flashed another samsung based, AOSP, AOKP and the lag is present on every rom...even with a fresh install, restored apps, installed everything manually...
tried removing sd card and still nothing
is anyone experiencing this also? is there a fix?
please help out, it is driving me crazy!!
btw can this be used to fix this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=744655
What's so important in your life that you can't wait one second?
Install an app to keep a wakelock and you'll have instant-wake. But get used to plugging your phone in.
BTW, linking to a kernel for the Samsung Vibrant and asking if it will help ... wow.
why the flame? no one is born perfect, not even you
it is annoying because the sg2 is the one of the best phones out there with impressive hardware and it sould be without bugs like this...
I linked that topic because there is something about this lag that may be helpful...
btw, xda search engine provided the link
JKAY's framework v 14.0
have you tried JKAY's new framework for ICS v14.0 .. it has a lot of new options and settings to personalize or S2 just the way u want it
including it has 2 precious options :
1)fast unlock ( can be found under lockscreen options >>set common options )
2)fast lock ( can be found under set misc settings )
I found a topic related to this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29994420#post29994420
so even though JKAY has this feature, it is not a fix but a battery drain...
the app softlocker cures it but does use a little more battery
I have zero lag at all.. You can try my setup in my signature if you care that much
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
they say wake lock app is even better

Display problems with NAND GBX0* + kernel 3.4.17

This ROM is working very well on my UK Rhod 100. Very stable & fast and since the latest update I have the correct HW keyboard layout. Battery life is limited but carrying a second battery is an easy solution.
The previous problems where the screen would not turn on after several pushes of the power button almost never occurs. However when the battery runs down to about 30% the screen always changes such that a red overlay occurs visible mainly on screens with a white background (see pics). Also when the screen changes ghost images remain from previous screens. Also at this point sometimes the screen will not turn on despite repeated use of the power button. Strangley, even though there is nothing visible on the screen I can unlock the phone by swiping in the expected area (and get haptic feedback) and long press the power button and turn off the device by pressing in the expected areas. Upon a reboot the screen will initially be back to normal but then if the battery is below 30% the problem will return. These issues never occur if the battery is above 30%. If I take screenshots with shootme the pics captured look normal when viewed after a reboot before the problem recurs. Not sure what the system does when the battery falls to this level but the screen is definitely affected. This problem also occurs with a fresh install with no apps installed.
If anyone has any ideas as to what could be the cause (and even better a solution) it would be most welcome. Thanks to all those behind this project.
Sorry you are having troubles. Unfortunately as noted in the first post for that thread we only have RHOD400s to test with. No one else has reported any similar issues. The 100s are known to be the problem children of the RHOD family. If you come up with a fix let us know, and we will try to include it in any future releases.

Did you look at ACL's work on RE'ing that panel code...?
He said something about the panel power up/power down sequence on the 100's (the AUO panel specifically) to be quite a bit different.

arrrghhh, I noted your post in the ROM development thread regarding the start up sequence in the OMGB kernel for the AUO panel. Perhaps this would solve my issue as well. If this change could be added to the next edition of this ROM my device would be virtually bug free.
As noted in the thread, we do not have any RHOD100s to test with. It is very unlikely that this will happen. If you would like to make your own kernel with these changes I can post it.

startup.txt files are only for the SD card versions of the android roms.
You would need to edit the keyboard map. Here is generic android keyboard map info.
There may be apps out there than can change your keyboard map, but I don't know any details about that.
Also in the future it would be best to start your own thread, rather than using an unrelated one. Better yet, post the questions about the rom you are working with in the thread for that rom.
i am having also a screen problem with that Rom and Kernel:

In an attempt to bring this thread back on topic I thought I'd report back that the original problem has not happened for a few weeks. My setup is essentially unchanged, the only change is that I have been using One Power Guard to try and improve battery life, which by the way seems to be effective. Managed 13hours with light use (few calls/occassional data for email web browsing)
Anyway it could be coincidence but it is possible that one of the tweaks performed by the app has sorted this issue. Since nobody else has reported the same problem I'm not sure how useful this info is but hopefully it may be of use to someone.

Battery indicator

Hey, since the new update, the battery indicator in the nitificationbar is not updating / refreshing anymore, id does just always show a full battery, even when there is only like 40% left.
If i restart the phone it will set to the batterylife that is left, for example if i reset at 3/4 of the bettery it will show that but not refresh anymore till i reset again.
Factory reset and so on does not help, seems like a big software issue with the phone here.
if i go to options battery, it will show the right %tage in the options menue.
Also, they said in the patchnotes, that they now implemented a % of the battery in the notificationbar, but there is literally no option to enable that, any idead on where to search for that?
Or nay app recomendations that could help me out here?

Yes, it made an update in the middle of the night when it got releasen, funny thing is, i turned auto updates off and nearly got late for work, because my phone is also my alarm clock and since it made it´s update on it´s own it reset and needet my passcode to restart.
Nevermind, i usually make a factory reset after an update and most problems are gone by now, for example the multitask bug, it is still there but not all the time and usually only when apps havent been open for a few minutes or from what i´ve seen, it just loasd alot of apps into the RAM and as soon as the 3,9gb are full it just closes all of them, instead of just making enough space and killing the first few that you have had open. I hope they fix that in the next update, but still it is way better than before.
BUt back to the topic. Since the Update, the battery indicator on the right top has a different style but as i mentioned just stays white and shows a full battery all the time, with no option to change it to % like the update log was mentioning.
Before the update it also had no % in the bar but when you moved the bar down there at leas was a % shown, now just a full battery symbol all the time.
But i tried a few different apps now an one just put in % in the battery icon now and also updates : itßs called Battery Percent Enabler, i tried 5 different ones, they did not work, but this just works fine, it is accurate with the battery indicator in the menu.
But i´ll guess i will try and root may phone sooner or later and then i will just flash the newest rom on it anyways.
Just wanted to know if i´m the problem and i just couldent find the menu to activate it, if it was a generell software problem or if it is just a bug since the update.
An other question, do you also have the frontfacing camera but since the update?
People in the umidigi forum and on reddit post about it en mass, i first thought it was a crack in the camera lens but since the update i have it too and people are having it too since the update.
https://ibb.co/RgXSpNJ
Its just one of the pictures of another f1 user since the update, mine has this weird line right in the middle of the camera, but i cant find a crack in the glass or the lense and since it only happened to people since the update do you think they messed something up in the cam software?
I also found a few that state the frontcam is not working at all since the update.
battery indicator
Literally the same issue battery indicator only shows the battery life when first booted, rebooted, or charging. Otherwise the battery does not move. had to install widget off of playstore. Also no percentage on/off even though when you type it in the settings search bar it shows it but redirects you to battery and we'll you guessesd it not there... hope patch comes out soon....

Hi, as i already troubleshooted and also kinda fixed it, just get the app i wrote in the first comment and everything should be good.
the only other thing that would help now is to re install the lastest update, since you messed something up while doing so.
or you can just install the app that i told you about.
Many of these little bugs or tweaks would be easily solved if we had an official and working GravityBox for Pie. Shame.
