[Q] Yellow Triangle and the Jig - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Has anyone confirmed that the jig works with the ATT SGS 2? I've seen it is working on the international, but I'm still unclear of the differences between the two when it comes to software.

[Q] Will ROM's for international sgs2 work on us variants?

So like the previous models of the sgs series ROM's that were made for lets say the vibrant wont work on the captivate and so on. Will that be the same for the US variants of the sgs2 because having a 3 million plus community on the international version is much more enticing. I dont want to buy the tmobile version and miss the opportunity of flashing awesome ROM's like the ones you guys are running.
As far as I am aware any SGS 2 rom should work fine on any SGS 2, regardless of where you bought your SGS 2 from in terms of country or provider. You might have to unlock the phone from T-Mobile to accept all sim cards though, but don't pin me down on that.
I don't think you would be able to flash any I9100 Rom out of the box without some modifications. Mainly due to the fact that the variants have 4 buttons instead of the 3 & different clocked cpu. Although I'm sure that Devs will be able to port these roms with modified kernels and so on.

AT&T Captivate vs. Tmo Vibrant

Hey guys, there's a chance i could trade my vibrant for a captivate at no cost, would it be a wise move? what are the differences???
If you're on T-mobile 3g won't work anymore and the captivate has issues with the speaker going out. I'd keep the vibrant.
Its only a small issue, but I've noticed that the Captivate's USB port is difficult to use with any USB cable but the one it comes with because of the angle of the bevel. The Vibrant is also a better looking phone, imho. Not to mention, but since Oxirane already did, if you don't move over to AT&T you will be stuck without 3g data with the Captivate.
Cappy has GB update. Vibrant - not.
So I guess the Captivate is a better option? the 3G band doesn't matter as I can switch to another carrier.
I've heard that you can't install third party apps on the captivate, is this true? what about technical glitches?
Dont get the captivate, I can second the USB problem. It will only work with the samsung cable and no the others. I wasted money purchasing after market USB cable and realized it didn't work with captivate.

First thing to check is the model of the phone. Look on the label under the battery. If it says "GT-I9100", then you're in the right place.
HOWEVER, since you say that the phone was modded to work on Verizon, there is about 0.001% chance that it is an I9100, since the I9100 is a GSM phone, and Verizon is a CDMA network.
The phone could possibly be an SPH-D710, which is the Sprint GS II, (aka Epic 4g Touch), or maybe an SCH-R760, which is the US Cellular GS II. These are the only two CDMA versions of the Galaxy SII that I know of. If it is one of these, for SURE DO NOT USE any firmwares or kernels from this (I9100) forum.
The Epic 4g Touch has a separate forum, and the SCH-R760 doesn't have a forum on XDA at all, at the moment. But I did find related threads for this model in the Epic 4g Touch forum.
how do i flash my phone
i have a samsung galaxy s2 sch-r760 that i bought on ebay. i was told it was flashed to verizon, but it didnt work. it is currently on u.s. cellular which is cdma plz help

SGH-i1717R screen on SGH-i717M hardware

Hello All!
I bought a Galaxy Note I717 from Kijiji this week and was wondering about something.
When I take the battery out of the phone, the sticker says: SGH-I717M (that's Bell Canada hardware)
But when I turn on the phone, the first image that appears shows: SGH-I717R (that's Rogers software)
I have rooted, and tried several ROMs so far and I still get the initial screen showing up as SGH-I717R.
So my question is, how do I get rid of that initial screen or change it to another carrier, such as Bell?
Thanks!

Does it actually bother you?
I can live with it. I was curious to find out if someone knew of a fix for it.
Thanks
I see I wouldn't worry about it. Load up a Paranoid ROM on it and enjoy your phone. You'll hardly reboot ur phone anyways.
If you install non rooted stock bell firmware with bell kernel and modem, it will change your boot screen to I717M.
Well, Your forum heading asks about hardware screen replacement compatibility, lil confusion there.
Sent from my SGH-I717R using xda app-developers app
The only way to change back is by flashing an Odin firmware of bell you can get them on Sammobile.com

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have a question that is (somewhat) relevant. My Note is the SGH-I717R, for Rogers. Am I allowed to flash At&T Note ROMs for my device? In other words, does the "R" make a difference? Thanks in advance.

I9505 motherboard into i545

Can i put an i9505 motherboard into an i545 s4 verizon?? Is it compatible..?
Theoretically it should work but the radios are different so it will probably fail.

No, phone don't boot without radios, but you can try to jtag it yourself. There are online guides IIRC. Always worth trying I guess.
um its all the same pcb
there is no separate radio board its all the same pcb
but no it won't work the frame is differed;t and the home button/flex cable is different
the screens are identical how ever so you can just swap the i545 screen in
