[Q] 3D sweep Panorama for Xperia Neo and not NEo V - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi all , I am saran from India ,
I joined this forum long back and have been studying things about android there , but this is my first post , Its a real honour to be a part of XDA ,
I would like to thank every genius who knows about android for sharing their knowledge here so that guys like me get to know something atleast , much delighted really ,
Now to my question ,
I have a HTC Wildfire , its my first android phone . But today I bought a new Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo . I bought it through a SE outlet in southern part of India . In EBay india they bring up a deal every day at 11 A.M . Today's deal was a SE Neo V for like 16000 INR, He called me and said they had the offer put in E-Bay and I was like WTF coz I bought this fone for 17500 INR ,
Wen I went through the description of the fone it had only 5 MP Camera but mine is 8 MP . Then I got a sign of relief . But again there was some feature like 3d Sweep panorama , but that is missing in my phone . I tried to find out wer it is like for the past 6 hours , but still no Luck ,
So out of hope I make this post here , Can anyone help me find it or my fone doesnt have it at all is it
Thanks ,
Saran
P.S. I don't know wer to post , If the mods or any admin panel gonna remove the post , please notify me through mail before doing it and please advice me wer to address my query .

The 3D sweep panorama for the Xperia Neo, will be available in the current update, it might be that it's not available yet in India. Just wait a few weeks, and you will be able to update and get the 3D sweep panorama function.
Check out settings > about phone
You'll probably have android version 2.3.3, the update makes it 2.3.4.
If you don't won't to wait, you can update via XDA.

To update via XDA, not the official Sony Ericsson update, but still stock ROM, follow this guide, till step 4.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply , My Phone says 2.3.3 , What you are trying to say is wen it is updated to 2.3.4 only I can use the feature is it ??

You can try to install it on 2.3.3, but I doubt whether it works.
I'll upload it within 10 minutes or so, stay tuned.

got it from here

Hi, I Installed it , but now the camera itself doesn't open, When I select Camera it becomes a black screen , then I have to click home button and come back, Any Idea :-o

You will have to wait,
I rooted my neo and even installed that apk(2.3.4) into rom itself, but my previous apk got deleted and i'm forced to use LG camera as alternate..
Please someone help by giving me a camera apk for 2.3.3 FW 4.0.A.368
Sent from my MT15i using XDA App

i try it on my current 2.3.3 but didn't work. not sure why. currently im using Doom kernel and i rooted my phone with Wotan Server.
anyone can help?

It wont work on 2.3.3 coz of changes in framework...
Open the development section and checkout instructions to install 2.3.4....
Also
Dont hesitate to unlock the bootloader coz warranty from se is just an "LOL"(very bad customer service)
Sent from my MT15i using XDA App

So if i flash it with Cyanogenmod 7.1, will the sweep panaroma feature still be available?

you should try Wotan server
first register in the website then download the program and after identifying the phone select advanced ... our device is called mt15i and choose 2.3.4
this method doesn't need root or opening boot loader.
i have successfully updated my phone to 2.3.4 then downgraded to 2.3.3
but never ever downgrade to 2.3.2 or you will loose your phone.
if you face any problem please contact me.

Hi. I'm from the Philippines, and I am a Xperia Neo V user.
As for your concern, Xperia Neo and Neo V are both 2011 smartphones introduced by Sony Ericsson, Xperia Neo V or MT11i is the successor of Xperia Neo. Now, the difference between these two smartphones is that first, Xperia Neo has an 8 Megapixel Camera compare to Xperia Neo V with just a 5 Megapixel Camera, the reason for this is that the company has an issue with the megapixel market (which I read mostly on some blogs). Second, as for their android OS version, I believe that these two has the same 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) version, I dont know with your country why your phone has only 2.3.3, but you can update it though. Third, Xperia Neo V is powered by Mobile Bravia Reality Display bringing its pictures and videos to a more level when it comes to quality. Neo V is also the first smartphone to have a facebook inside Xperia upgrade benefit. Fourth, Xperia Neo V is the only one to have a feature of 3d Sweep Panorama, in which the Xperia Neo has not.
To top all this, both of them are amazing phones to have.
I also read it on some news that Sony Ericsson will release an update so that the 2011 smartphones will have the 3d Sweep Panorama feature. So just update yourself to this updates. And by the way, android will release its OS version 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Update this March-April. Its an update that most android phone users are looking forward to..
Thank You.. ^_^

No offense, but this thread is three months old, by which time the threadstarter would most probably have received the said update. Anyway, to some corrections: the Neo is not without the Bravia Engine, as you may have meant. Also, the Facebook inside Xperia has been available to the 2011 Xperia phones since around July last year, around three months before the Neo V was launched. And yeah, all it takes is a simple update via PC Companion to get the 3D Sweep Panorama to the Neo (2.3.4 update). Again, no offense meant in my post, I just want to help clear out the facts.
Have a nice evening, buddy.

well i m just dying to get my hands on my Neo.. waiting for the shipment .....................
i just want to ask one thing..!! why people dont use PCC or SEUS for the updates.. !! and rely on Wotan or Flashtool !!

Xperia neo 2.3.3
its work for me thanks!:good:

[Q] Should I upgrade from my X10 to Xperia Neo V?

Hi, my contract is about to end soon, and I'm looking forward for a new Xperia phone (preferably), I'm being offered for free the Xperia Neo V and Xperia Mini Pro. Should I pick it up? Or wait for another phone (mid range)?
Xperia Neo V seems more appealing than Xperia Mini Pro, though, it screen is slightly smaller and the camera is 5mpx I think, not to mention it lacks Exmor-R camera len, it's not like the X10 has it, but it would be a nice feature. But it has the quick start-up and the quick-capture functionality at least.
So what do you guys say? I was waiting for the Xperia Pro, but it won't be on sale in my country.
maybe wait a lil bit longer, the 2012 series is almost upon us, hopefully the 2011 line may receive a price drop. I would gladly trade my x10 for any 2011 xperias if I could get one cheap.
Xperia Neo V has a better multitouch screen and more RAM but there isn't much difference, so I would suggest you to wait
Send from X10
Use this tool forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415600
If you can afford 2012 phones, than wait, otherwise go for Neo V, i already got it in replacement of X10 & I am happy with it

[Q] help me neo v or galaxy i9003 sl

hi every one ,
i want to buy anew smart phone and im really confused and compare between neo v and galaxy sl generally which phone is better i love neo v but the internal memory worrid me if iwant to setup alot of programes . idont care about playing games on the phone .is this phone good enough to buy
thanks alot please help me i will buy one of them next week waiting for your replay
Wrong place to ask really. 99% of the folk on here have a Neo. Or Neo V. So they will be biased.
Suggest you use a more general area so the Samsung users can contribute.
Neither phone has been a particularly stellar seller, and the Xperia U in the same price bracket is due out in 6 weeks.
In any case, you will get such a wide variety of highly subjective opinions that you will not gain anything that will help you.
Make your own mind up based on what you need...

Galaxy SL internal memory for programms has shared only 480Mb, not so far more as 320Mb on Xperia neoV, also mos programs can be mooved to SD card.
Galaxy SL is 1 year old model an therefore Samsung stop to provide new firmware updates. Xperia neoV in nex month wil receives new firmware update - Android 4.0
galaxy sl have bigger screen and larger internal memory .
Neo V have HDMI , camera flash .
you might wan to wait for xperia P . It will probably bout neo V price + $50 when launch .
just wait for Xperia U n P .. better than the two.

Agree, still Xperia P is in the same prize bracket as Neo V ?
No the U is. The P is almost the same price as the S (at launch) - I mentioned this very fact in my reply earlier, please do read...

I don't think there are much users who can comment on stuff like camera quality this soon about Xperia P and U.Apart from these pages about Xperia P and U we don't know much about them.Tho here's one suggestion, don't go for Xperia U due to ram being only 512mb,for multitasking more ram is always better.
LenAsh,didn't saw that mate, apart from looks and dual core processor I don't think much is different in Neo V and U,U is more like a replacement for Neo V I think.
No problem - I think you are spot-on! The U will likely be the "new" Neo V. Spec wise and price wise. Screen a little smaller, IIRC.
I'm probably going for the P. I have had the Neo for some time now and can honestly say it is the most usable and reliable mobile device I have owned. It's like an old friend now. Been all over the world with it and never a twitch. I also like SE's open attitude to free development.
I love SE and I love my X Neo
of-course neo v-----> going to update to ics officially

[Q] Is it possible to port sweep multi-angle feature from Xperia 2012 lineup?

The Xperia 2012 lineup includes a feature called sweep multi-angle, which also appeared briefly in a demonstration video of the Arc S (but never really made it to an official firmware).
Is it possible to port this feature to the Neo?

I was referring specifically to the sweep multi-angle feature. See this for a (relatively poor) example.
AFAIK this feature never made it to the 2011 lineup.
