[Q] ◉ PLEASE help with installing "EC07 Rom (beta3)" by joshkoss - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Please forgive the newb-ness, but I could really use some help in understanding how to update my Samsung Continuum to joshkoss' "Light EC07 Rom (beta3)."
I am brand new to the vocabulary and methods and I really don't understand what everything means.
I was hoping someone could kind of walk me through the steps outlined below, and give a dumbed down explanation of exactly what to do.
I have the phone (obviously), as well as the guide below, all the files have been downloaded, and I'm ready to go.
I just need someone to give a detailed version of the steps below...
1 Flash stock EC07 using Odin.
2 Plug your phone into your computer after your phone has rebooted 2 times and then backup and format the SD card.
3 Once you are done and into EC07 Stock, copy my rom onto your sdcard so you can flash it at the end of these steps
3.5 Please flash CWM 2.5 Kernal via odin and place this update on root of your sd card and boot into cwm 2.5
4 After flashing the above, boot back into CWM and then flash my rom

Use ODIN to Flash Your Samsung Android Devices
Odin is a windows application that can be used to flash different firmware onto various Samsung Android Devices. It is vital that EVERYBODY who roots their Samsung Device knows how to use ODIN because it is often the only way to flash certain ROMs/Firmware or completely revert back to stock firmware. Also, when all else fails, it is the only way to restore a device to working condition after a partial brick or boot loop.
Setting Up ODIN
1. First you need to download the Samsung USB drivers for Windows and ins
2. THEN connect your phone to the USB. (some folks have had luck doing it in reverse..connecting the USB then Power and vol down)
tall them. They can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929 ;
3. Once it has finished, download this file: http://www.justanotherdev.slackdev.com/Odin3.rar
4. Unpack it using winrar, and place it in its own dedicated folder.
5. You now have Odin set up and you can use it whenever you need to flash your Galaxy S, providing you have some images to flash.
Preparing the Files to Flash
1. Download this file: www.justanotherdev.slackdev.com/s1_odin_20100512.rar and extract it. This is your .pit file.
2. place the file you downloaded into an easily recognizable folder(in case you need the same file a month from now)
3. Download this file now: http://www.justanotherdev.slackdev.com/T959UVJFD.tar . This is your .tar file.
4. Do not extract the file you downloaded in step 3, but move it to the same folder as the .pit file.
Booting into Download Mode and Flashing the Files
1. Open ODIN and in the PIT section, select the .pit file you downloaded.
2. In the PDA section, select the .tar file your downloaded.
3. Turn your phone off, then plug it into your computer using a USB cable.
4. Wait for the battery charging icon to appear, then press and hold the volume up, volume down, and power buttons.
5. When the screen turns black, let go of the power button, but continue to hold both volume keys.
6. You will eventually see an picture with black Android robot digging within a yellow triangle.
7. If you see something else after your phone has booted, try steps 4-6 again.
8. On your computer, if one of the COM port icons in ODIN has turned yellow, then your phone has been recognized. If not, try again from step 3.
9. If you still do not get any results, try another USB port on your computer. The ones in the back always seem to work well.
10. Press the start button and wait. If you do not see a blue progress bar on your phone after 5 minute, take out your phones battery, unplug your phone and start from step 1 again.

Hi,
Thank you for trying to help, but I need a little more clarification on the rest of the steps... can someone please help?
In step 2 of joshkoss' instructions, he tells us to.....
Plug your phone into your computer after your phone has rebooted 2 times...

At what point did I ever UNPLUG it to begin with? The guide you pasted never tells me to unplug the phone while flashing the files on the phone!!
The second part of joshkoss instructions tells me to...
...and then backup and format the SD card.

What am I "backing up?" on the SD card??? Isn't it a blank SD card???
And what is the correct "format"???
What utility do I use to format the SD card???

There ins't a custom recovery installed, this device flashes by detecting an update.img and askes to install it. It doesn't get past what would be considered the kernel screen. This tablet doesn't work like a standard android phone. There are no hard buttons except the power button, so attempting to get into any recovery is not possible. It also doen't boot enough to add any files to it.
Sounds like your screwed. Sorry.....
Please hit the thank you button if i helped!

Ok, just bricked my Nextbook 7
Here is how I flashed a firmware without access to recovery:
If you are in a bootloop, Connect USB and Power.
Press and hold pin on back until you hear windows try to detect a device but the screen is off.
Download this: http://arctablet.com/assets/tools/Fi..._Tool_v1.4.zip
Install the driver from the drivers folder.
3. Installing the drivers on the computer
Following the tablet entering in recovery mode, the computer should now show it has found a new USB device and prompt for a device driver. Select the appropriate driver in the driver directory from the Rockchip Flash Tool 1.4 package.
It will then install the driver for RK29 Device
4. Sending the firmware to the tablet
The flashing tool should display a green square around the number 1 in the lower left area of the Windows application.
Select the firmware file to flash using the button in the top right area of the application. Select the update.img file from here:
http://www.multiupload.com/NQHSNZJSO2
Then push the Upgrade button to transfer the selected firmware to the tablet.
The firmware will be copied to the tablet, a progression counter will go from 0% to 100% on this step, followed by a verification.
You are done, let the tablet reboot and update itself. It should take a few minutes for the flash process to finish.
This procedure has been successfully tested on Windows XP 32 bits for flashing a bricked NextBook 7 Premium YF1011 (but should work on others)
Help !!
Please help, got the tablet yesterday NEXT7P12 YF091211085 by flashing the official site was a brick, the tablet will not turn on, the computer does not see it.
screen moved after installing rom
Hi, i don't know if I'm on the right place but if anyone can help me, please I haw the Nextbook 7 premium and have instaled costum rom on it, but after rebooting my screen position has moved from right to left 2 cm and from up to down 1 cm , so my screen is moved I don't know why I have try to install 3 other rom and factory firmware but the screen is still moved or should I say cut. Any ideas? please I have try to google it but no luck...
I no longer have my np7 but I did try just about every ROM for it. Never have I had or seen an issue like this, and in truth I can't think of what the issue may be.
There are different np7 variants and some don't play nice with custom ROMs (built sept 2012 and older lose WiFi) so you might have a model that can only use one software due to hardware/firmware change.
There never was much development for the np7 here, I think finlessbob and others are still working on it at freaktab.com maybe see if they can help

[Q] Diagnosis pse: settings and files lost on reboot

I have bought a second-hand Galaxy Tab which will not keep changes in settings or any uploaded files or IDs after switch off and restart.
This means I cannot root it, as any uploaded files with Odin are lost on restart.
Can anyone help me please? I have tried all the usual resets to no avail.

No-one interested in a tricky problem challenge???

Hmm, I thought this might intrigue the experts, but to no avail.
Where the hell do I go for an answer to this problem: rooting cannot be done as flashed files will be lost on reboot.

Hi. Thanks for getting back.
I have gone up and down the forums for ideas. (for over 3 days now).
The story so far:
I have tried to flash the overcome .tar file for my model using odin 1.83, but get a red box and a Fail! : error 0X140005. I followed the Overcome guide VERY carefully, got the yellow COM box, put the right file in the right box, but when I hit the start button, it fails.
I can boot into "Download". I have tried restore after wiping the cache.
With normal power up, the OS seems to work partially, in that I can do all the things I want to do, but all the settings, WiFi passwords, uploaded files etc disappear on reboot, and any uninstalled programmes re-appear. It seems that it won't permanently write to, or erase from, "long term" memory.
Before this,I have done a full cache wipe and factory restore but no difference.
Thoughts:
a) I am wondering if a previous occupant has tinkered with it and messed up the memory partitions? is it all RAM?
b) As it is stuck, it is stuck with USB debugging disabled. this will be maintained on reboot: could this interfere with Odin?
Any suggestions would be very, very gratefully accepted.

Dude i ask this in another forum you posted, did you use odin to install recovery or not? if you did then just boot into recovery and wipe all - then flash galaxytab or any flashable roms that way.

As I said in the second paragraph: I tried to use odin to install recovery, but got the big red square. The file did not transfer.

No your second paragraph said you flashed overcome. Not recovery
So if odin is not installing recovery can you boot into fastboot? Power off then press power n volume down then go to fastboot mode and install recovery that way. Check this thread for info. . http://www.galaxytabforums.net/forum/galaxy-tab-10-1-general-discussions/1044-my-galaxy-tab-10-1-wont-power-up.html
Then flash a cwm flashable ROM

hi again; well no success so far.
- I downloaded and installed SDK (software development kit: for other noobs like me)
- I downloaded and installed recovery.img, and installed the google USB drivers from the extras
- I checked that the fastboot.exe, adb.exe (android debug bridge) and recovery.img were all in the platform tools folder.
- got into "download":- odin mode
- plugged in the tab and tried to launch "adb start-server" from cmd screen
(I was in the right directory at the command line), but no cigar: nada.
- I went back and did the PDAnet routine, but still no joy, no devices shown
there were no error messages either, which made me think the usb was not communicating with the tab.
To try this out I used Kies to transfer a photo file to the tab, and viewed on the tab it after disconnecting, so tranfers do take place.
Sure enough, after rebooting, the file was gone, like all the other settings and changes made in the past.
I also tried adb when the tablet was on and I had checked usb debugging. In this case, adb recognised the device and returned the serial number.
It does not do this when in cwm mode as it will not remember to keep debugging on when I power down.
Any other ideas anyone? can I switch debugging on from the command line before I try to recover?
FG, (now getting a sore head and worrying if I have p***d my money up the wall.)
Funny, when things get really tough, the helpers disappear.
Still no solution.
Oh dear: silence again.

AFAIK you won't get a response in ADB when the tablet is in download mode but you should when the tablet is in CWM recovery mode.
If it were me I'd odin a stock factory recovery to the device and a stock factory rom for it. Then i'd boot into stock recovery and do the factory reset to see if that cleans things up. You should probably link to the source of the files you're downloading as well as provide specific model of your device so people can verify that you're flashing the right files.
I'm totally confused by your steps here
you went to odin mode and used adb? or did you go into fastboot and adb the recovery?
step by step here
a quick overview of it is to get your tab into ODIN mode and use ODIN to reload a copy of the stock image to your tab. This erases all of your previous data but you can reinstall those later. But at least it gets you back to a working tab - Note this is for the 7510 - the wifi tab
1) Download this file - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
2) extract the file
you should have the following
a file called GT-P7510_USB_Driver_v1_3_2360_0-Escape - this file is the USB driver for your PC, if you don't have the driver installed already, run this
a folder named Odin3 v1.85 - this contains the ODIN executable file
a folder named KME Odin - which contains 2 files - android_fastboot_emmc_full_p4_16G_32G.pit" and a "P7510XABKME_P7510UEKME_HOME.tar"
3) Power down the tab
4) press POWER and Volume Down at the same time until it powers up and you should see 2 logos - USB and triangle (note the retail wifi version might show 2 different logos, android on right and bag on left - left is recovery and right is Odin/download)
5) press volume down to move the selection to the triangle (or the icon on the right)
6) press volume up to lock in selection. You are now in ODIN/download mode
assuming all your drivers are installed to your PC, plug in the tab via the USB to your PC
run the ODIN executable
only Auto-reboot and F.reset Time should be ticked
after a minute, the ID:Com box should turn yellow -if not you may have driver issues (try this driver http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDo...SB-Driver-for-Windows-x86-Download-96692.html)
7) tick PDA and click the PDA button and navigate to the KME Odin folder and select "P7510XABKME_P7510UEKME_HOME.tar"
8) select the PIT button and navigate to the KME Odin folder and select the "android_fastboot_emmc_full_p4_16G_32G.pit"
9) Select START
it should start writing the image to your tab and once done, should reboot you back into stock
in case you want to go ahead and flash 3.2 -
use this pit file - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=784889&d=1321486916
and use this for the PDA http://hotfile.com/dl/135008863/06c...EKMM_P7510XABKMM_P7510UEKMM.rar.html?expire=1
if it asks you for Password for the 3,2 file use : sampro.pl
when resorting to odin and first booting up, you might get asked for a password, the way around this is to
a) power off,
b) press power n volume down until you get 2 icons left is recovery right is download.
c) press volume down to select recovery icon then volume up to lock it, you should then see the recovery menu
d) then use volume buttons until wipe data/factory reset is highlighted press power to do it
e)after its done wiping, select reboot n you should be ready
Now the key thing here is installing the right drivers - after installing teh driver, connect the tab and see if the drivers are installed - go to your pc control panel and check if you get a triangle with an exclamation point. If there is, right click on it and select update driver, then manually choose device - navigate through and find the Android or samsung device (cant remember the name off the top of my head)
if you get stuck, report on which part you got stuck on - currently it seems like you're mixing and matching different steps so it is a little confusing

Hi again, sorry to confuse you but I was following your suggestions in post #7 of this thread. when I got to step 5 of that post, I got no response from the device: installed PDAnet to get over the driver issue. and no joy.
When trying to install .tar or PIT files I get a big red box, even though the yellow COM box looks good.
When trying the data erase/ factory reset option in the "Download" mode, I get the error message "Can't access to /system/csc/XEU/system.
Steps 7/8/9 in your post above do not work: I have tried them a few times.
Sorry, I have run out of options, and thank you for your help.

OTA Update turned Galaxy Pocket Boot Loop

Help Please?
I had my Galaxy Pocket rooted and got the Jellyblast v3 rom, it was doin fine until I checked on the app OTA and check for update, a new update appeared which is the Nemesis 2.5 Hybrid-Holo Editon. It asked me to download it and so I did. When it was done, it asked me if I wanted to install it and so I did, and rebooted. Later I noticed that it was already boot looping. I tried pulling the battery off and to clockwork mode, with the proper procedure..the holds and presses, but still it just kept boot looping. Tried to connect it to the PC using the USB chord and yet it just shows the charging icon and sooner it turns to white. I tried Kies but still it turned white screen all over again; no device found.
Can someone PLEASE help me with this one? PLEASE, PLEASE guys? I know you guys are knowledgable on these kind of issues. :crying:

I also received the same message and downloaded the update file. when ask to Reboot & Install i selected install the device booted in CWM and i selected update from .zip and selected the downloaded file in OTA Download Folder.
The update was successful, yet the ROM looks in BETA version.
Following are the issues i am currently facing in the updated ROM
1. Gallery ICS was Force Closed, later it was solved via uninstalling update.
2. Quick Panel, Nemesis Hub, Nemesis Owner Info & Nemesis Sound Boosters are giving FC messages.
3. OTA is giving INVALID ROM Message while updating.
I´m having the same issues.
After downloading and installing the OTA update, my device is keep stucking in the boot loop.
When I do to the recovery, I always get automatic update with the update.zip, which means I can't get into the full recovery to select another functional image.
Well I hope it's not bricked. Is there a sollution?
Thanks
I have repaired that throught ODIN MODE, like described here:

For all the SGY Users who are facing issues after updating Jellyblast 3.5 to Nemesis (I faced it too) here is the guide to recover your phone:-
First to repair your phone you have to flash stock rom via odin .
Here's the guide for Flashing Stock Rom via Odin
Requirement: 1. A Samsung Galaxy y phone model gt-s5360.
2. A computer running on windows xp, vista, win7 or win8 with proper USB driver installed to connect your phone to computer {If you have not installed USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Y then to Install USB Driver}
3. Stock Rom file : you can download stock rom according to your choice and region from the xda thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800e
4. download ODIN: 1 .85.(google it as i cannot post outside links)
Installation Instruction : [ Charge your phone battery min 80%]
1. Download the required file Odin AND Stock Rom. zip and place in a folder on your desktop .
2. Now extract both with any file extractor.-- Odin v1 .85 .zip and the stock rom zip( file which contains the stock rom i. e 2 .3 .6 )
After that extract Stock Rom file after unzipping you will get three files :
PDA _S5360 _DDLK2.tar,
MODEM_ S5360 _DDLK2.tar &

9.Now Select those 3 files u download before
PIT - "totoro_0623.pit"
BOOTLOADER - "BOOT" file.
PDA - "PDA" file.
PHONE - "MODEM" file.
CSC - "GT-s5360- MULTI-CSC" file.
10.Now clik on start .
And let be ODIN do its work and wait till you see PASS in green colour it mean the flashing process is complete successfully . Samsung
11.Remove your phone from pc 12.Galaxy Y will auto reboot .
Now if you want to install nemesis Rom, you have to install the nemesis Rom 2.0 (Nemesis Titanium) first and than you should update the Rom by downloading the update file via OTA and flashing the zip file through CWM.
I hope my suggestion will solve your problem.
Did you wipe data and wipe catch before installing ROM??
Did you try flashing original ROM with Odin or others??

For all the SGY Users who are facing issues after updating Jellyblast 3.5 to Nemesis (I faced it too) here is the guide to recover your phone:-
First to repair your phone you have to flash stock rom via odin .
Here's the guide for Flashing Stock Rom via Odin
Requirement: 1. A Samsung Galaxy y phone model gt-s5360.
2. A computer running on windows xp, vista, win7 or win8 with proper USB driver installed to connect your phone to computer {If you have not installed USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Y then to Install USB Driver}
CSC_S 5360 _DDLK2 .tar
3. Now turn off your Galaxy Y {Remove the battery for 5 -10 seconds and insert it back }
4. Go to Download Mode by Pressing Volume down + Home + Power for 5- 10 sec to boot in Download Mode
5. Now you entered in Download mode select continue by pressing Volume up button .
6. Now attach/ connect your phone to computer via USB cable .
7. Now on your computer open Odin v 1 .85. exe
8.Now make sure you are getting yellow box in ID:COM ( this means that your device is now connected and detected by odin )

IT STILL DOES NOT WORK! I flashed the device, and this is what i get every time! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Blackview A8 - Rooting

I have been looking through the posts here and on other sites, and I cannot seem to find anyone with experience of rooting the Blackview A8
I have tried using the Kingo Root phone app and their PC software application, which did not work and left a number of other applications installed.
I want to root the A8 in order to be able to use ES File Explorer and StickMount to download photos direct to USB sticks.
If anyone has any suggestions to help with this they will be very gratefully received.
Bump ...
The processor is a Mediatek 6580A, in case anyone has rooted another device with this processor...
Full specs for the Blackview A8 on devicespecifications.com - I cannot post the Url at present
The device has the possibility of USB OTG, but does not connect to any device I have tried, and the USB OTG Checker App tells me that the API is installed, but no USB OTG in the Kernel.
Dropbox works fine as a backup/ transfer method, but I want to be able to use USB Sticks for when I am not on WiFi/ Network...
bump... need root for blackview a8 too

I have successfully rooted my Blackview Y806 A8 phone. I flashed a TWRP recovery first and then manually flashed the supersu zip. I will try to find time to write more detailed instructions asap.

I have the TWRP recovery img and the supersu zip file. Does anybody know whether I'm allowed to upload these files directly to this website? And or put links to other websites relating to rooting the A8? One more thing. I believe there are two types of A8s. The Y806 and the Y813. I have the Y806 but my son has the Y813. There is a way of telling them apart. I will make a start on the instructions once someone confirms whether I can proceed.

Never mind, upload it.
How to make the difference between both A8?
Rooting A8 Instructions
First you need to download the correct Stock ROM for your device:
THIS IS FOR THE Y806 VERSION:
http://bbs.blackview.hk/viewtopic.php?f=136&t=57766
THIS IS FOR THE Y813 VERSION:
http://bbs.blackview.hk/viewtopic.php?f=136&t=32613 (THIS ALSO SHOWS YOU HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR DEVICE.)
1. Download and extract (to a place where you can easily find it again) one of these ZIPs.
2. Rename the ‘recovery.img’ file inside, ‘recovery2’. Download the ‘A8 recovery.img’ from here https://mega.nz/#!PoJ3gJLA!-xm4X6AzmzsWl5LgQm2gFKaxr-yIC2B492LW4ucVWGY and copy it into the above extracted folder and rename it ‘recovery’ (without the inverted commas).
3. Here http://www.needrom.com/download/blackview-a8/ you will see ‘Flashtools’ about a quarter of the way down the page. Click on it and download will begin of Pack-Flashtool-v5.1604.00.000.
4. Unpack FlashTools. (There is a folder inside named ‘Driver’ if it’s required) and click on Flash_tool.exe inside the folder called SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1604.00.000.
5. Select "scatter-Loading" and search for MT6580_Android_scatter.txt in the extracted ROM above and wait for the files to be added into Flash Tool.
6. Un-tick/unselect all, EXCEPT ‘recovery’.
7. Select "Download only".
8. Turn off your phone, remove the battery (if the battery is removable) and replace it after some seconds (and don't turn on the phone).
9. Press the “Download” button to start and then connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
10. The process will start (If it doesn’t start after 5 seconds or so, unplug the cable and plug it back in).
11. A green circle with a tick will be displayed signifying it’s finished!
12. You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on.
FLASHING SuperSu.zip
1. Copy the SuperSu.zip file to your SD Card.
2. Reboot your phone into the new TWRP Recovery
3. Select ‘Install’ and locate the SuperSu.zip file and select ‘Install Image’.
4. After flashing has completed, reboot your phone and you will finally have root.
I BELIEVE I HAVE INCLUDED ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS. IF I’VE MISSED ANYTHING, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL TRY TO REPLY ASAP.
I’VE ALSO ATTACHED SOME IMAGES PROVING THAT MY A8 HAS BEEN ROOTED.
P.S. I’M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE ACCIDENTALLY. SO READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.
My phone has no white sticker, but a black sticker the size of the small white one. Would that be the y814?
Then it's a Y813

The MEGA link always give me download failed even I have a stable wifi connection. Any other miror on y813 stock rom link?
The Mega account for the ROMs isn't mine. It belongs to Blackview.hk
Edit:
Silly me... I was holding wrong keys for the start menu... thank you, it works!
Whoever you are... I owe you a beer!
Old message:
I did all from the tutorial (I have a black Y813). It finds the phone when I connect it to the USB, says all OK. But when I try to boot into TWRP (holding Volume- and Reset button) it still boots in the original factory Chinese boot mode. No TWRP mode.
Works! Works! Works!
Okay, now I have root. So far understood.
What have I to do if I would like to renew the total system. In may case the Android system has several adware included. I wish to change the rom against a "clean" system.

I solved it myself. I have flashed the whole downloaded y806 file and checked all items in flashtool to be flashed. After a longer boot duration the system works great and ....without adware. Great!!

Hi, but which keys are the valid ones?
Guys, do you got problems with A8's battery?
Is there a connection between rooting of A8 and decreasing A8's high phone idle?
Hey guys! I'm about to root my Blackview A8 using the method mentioned in this thread. How is everyone's experience with this? Is rooting my phone using the above-posted method completely safe?
I'll recommend this

I'm really thanks with you, this really worked and I recommend this process (I've a Y806) But you missed something. To install the drivers of the FlashTools you have to disable the obligatory use of signed drivers before to install it (If you don't have disable, The installation won't finish) Thanks
Hi. I've managed the first part of the process, up until receiving the green tick and copying the SuperSU.zip to the memory card on my A8. The problem comes when I want to go into TWRP: I manually enter recovery mode and I get a dead android icon with the line "no command".
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ok you are most likely on 20160810 where recovery does not work.
you are most likely on windows 10 as well. first lets find a rom where recovery works.
We can use 20160810 rom and wipe userdata partition..
Here is the download link https://mega.nz/#!ys4DTIxa!8rrL0aktVQ8W7Q4Et8fvQ8jk2tAxLZvJOJH48S9Vkyk .
Once you have finished downloading you should then extract it to a folder.
Next we need to prepare your computer for the flashing process by installing the correct drivers.
look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p9000/how-to/how-to-guideline-install-mtk-drivers-t3344042 scroll for your version of windows. follow the instructions and everything should work.
If you dont have add hardware option in windows then hit windows button and r and enter hdwwiz.exe.
now you have installed the drivers we need to download sp flash tools which is what we need to install the rom.
So go this website http://spflashtool.com/ now click on the first download link 'SPFlash Tool 5.1628' .
this will download a zip file. again extract it to a new folder. ok now you need to go in the flash tool and run flash_tool.exe by just clicking on it. now the software will load up.
You need to load the scatter file from the rom folder. The scatter file should be outside the encrypt folder and should be called MT6755_Android_scatter.txt . Now the rom should be loaded. You have some more options here, you can either untick all boxes and leave userdata (where your security and codes are stored) ticked or you can leave everything ticked which would flash the rom again. So once you have decided what option you have you need to turn your phone off. you then need to click download in flash tools and then connect your phone to the pc and hold the vol+ button. Then wait for it to flash, once the box with the tick opens you can close the program and restart your phone.
no recovery
there is no recovery in this build.........you have to flash one of your own.....
No recovery
Thank you, will start trying now and let you know.
Success!

Hi,
I have the same problem with my P9000 : Elephone_P9000_20160810, I even cannot install the last update 20170112 because the recovery mode is not working. but I use Linux mint on my laptop.
I already downloaded the Linux version of the flashing tool, give it a try but at the time of the flashing my laptop freeze. Scarred to death, I restarted my phone, no damage done, but now, after stay away from the idea the time to recover from my post traumatic syndrome disorder, I am ready to try again with the help of peoples knows what they are doing.
What are the points I have to be aware using Linux mint when I follow this tutorial.
Thanks for your time

As someone who has done this a few times - and forgotten this vital step almost every time, just a reminder that when using SPFlash Tool - after you set up the scatter file, you click on download so that it is trying to communicate with the phone before you even plug the cable into the phone, then with your phone turned off you hold Vol+ as you plug in the cable. It should send the file almost instantly.
