Simple AOSP lockscreen with JKay's app - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
I was wondering if it is possible to use the classic AOSP lockscreen with JKay's theme manager. I mean just the unlock option, sliding from left to right, without camera, FM radio, sms and so on. Thanks in advance

Go into the jkay app, tap the options top left, top right etc then press menu and select not in use, unlock and sound toggle as you see fit.

first off, really new...this is my first post here.
I don't see the options. I am in the JKay app what I have is the following titles for option:
1) Lock Screen
2) Lock screen actions (long press for icons)
3) Lock screen wallpaper
4) Lock screen options
5) Miscellaneous
6) Phone options dialog
No options for me. I too want the simple look.
If it's ok, can you include screenshots?

Hello All
I have a question regarding how to install other shortcuts on the same horizontal spot as the menu shortcut which leads too all the applications when pressed. ( the middle bottom one on the same horizontal spot with all the dots) Thanks!

What is your home application? provide more details
i'm sorry i'm new to this, what is a home application? hmmm.. I'm running a unrooted x10 as of right now... if that helps. Thanks!
The button i was talking about is the center bottom button that becomes a trash can when you try to delete applications from your home screen. I was wondering how I can install shortcuts next to the trash can button. I didnt know x10 was capable of doing this until I used the clean-up.bat that came along with jit. However, I have since factory reset the x1o, and I was wondering how I can get the shortcuts functions back without all the other customized functions that clean-up.bat gives you after you run it. Thanks!

Im assuming you have adw, if so do as i have mentioned below:
Long press empty place of the home screen
select Launcher actions
select Open/close app drawer
Then your icon will appear in the scree, simply drag the icon to desired position on the bottom bar, in your case to the center location
Cheers
What is adw? and how can I find out if I have it or not? when I long press the home screen, it gives me 4 options - shortcuts, widgets, folders, and wallpapers. I do not have launcher actions.... how do I get that? Thanks!
Install LauncherPro, long press the icon, and change the icon, or the function.

[DIY] Knock-Off on any Non-Stock ROM

Just some info for everyone that is wondering, not sure if this has been covered yet, I looked and it seems that it hasn't been mentioned.
This is a very easy way to get customized knock-off (double-tap to turn off screen) working on any non-stock ROM where knock-off might not be included.
1. Download GMD Gesture Control from the market. You should probably use the paid version since the free version doesn't support custom gestures. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontrol&hl=en
2. Download the Screen Off app (free). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en
3. Open up GMD and turn off any gestures you don't want that are included with the app.
4. Click on User Gestures up top, and then click path.
5. Under "Gesture Path", type in "T-T"
6. Click under action, select "application" and select "Screen Off" (the one that you just downloaded).
7. Click "Save" at the bottom, and bam. Double-tap goes to screen off.
**NOTE** I changed the starting zone (in the Create Gesture window) to only recognize double-taps on my status bar region, because often I would shut my screen off without meaning to.
Sorry, if this is a repost, I just spent a long hour pulling my hair out trying to get this to work with Nova launcher (wanted my double-tap to work anywhere in my ROM), and was super stoked when I figured this out.
Great idea I wonder why I haven't thought about this before
Thank you. I tried to spread the word on this method when CM was first released for the G2. My only difference is I use Secure Settings
Edit: just realized you missed another obvious bit
If you use Nova or Apex you can set a double tap gesture to turn off the screen the same way. Suddenly you have the same functionality as LG included

Ah good idea. Then you can have an easier time turning the screen off when you're in your launcher. Good stuff.

How can you do the screen off? I stopped using Nova because I could no longer turn off the screen, there is no turn screen of under gesture settings.

Hi,
It works with Nova, you need to double-tap in the notification bar area (but only here), nothing to set in Nova it works just like that...
How about screen on?

You are correct, there isn't a screen off option. However, you can set the double tap gesture to open a SHORTCUT that will turn the screen off.
I'm assuming the app OP linked to allows you to set a shortcut for screen off. If not, Secure Settings for sure does (it's what I use).
Here's proof that it works
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvesNzvgKDQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
That video uses OP's GMD Gesture control trick and Nova Launcher's double tap gesture. Only difference is I'm using secure settings instead of the screen off app
Ok, for those who want to use screen off with Nova or CM do this.
Download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en
in Nova Settings go to gesture and Buttons/ Double tap/ and select Screen off, Simple as that. GL

Lockscreen Settings for SlimKat

Hey There,
Im running SlimKat on my Nexus S. Unfortunately I can`t edit my lockscreen. Anyway, there is a dashclock widget on the lockscreen. I want to replace it with a different widget. How can I do this without Lockscreen Settings within the Rom (SlimKat Bulid 3)?
Thanks in advance!
fluxional hineicd
Same problem here.
The dashclock app doesn't show my messages, missed calls, whatsapp messages and email. It only shows temperature and gmail email count.
Noone knows about that?!?!
Put your finger on the clock, drag it down to the lock icon, now you have a settings icon on the right of the clock.
+1
Moreover go to Settings > Security > Check 'Enable widgets' under 'Screen Security'.
Go to the lockscreen then press and hold the finger on the left and swype to the right to show up a new screen to be able to add new widgets.

That was the first one I tried I've gone through the whole settings menu at least 5 times but not a thing about changing the widgets on lockscreen. At least I got rid of the Dashclock widget by disabling the app.

Just to add to what has already been posted, I was Googling for a solution, found it and then found this thread. I am running Slimkat on my LG G Pad 8.3. Adding extensions to Dashclock can help. To edit settings, on the standard Slimkat lockscreen, there is a small gear icon on the right-hand side of the clock, tap that, unlock your screen, and an "Extensions" screen pops up. Extensions can also be deleted at will.
There aren't many extensions installed by default (4 or 5 I think) but you can add more through the Play Store (tap on the top right hand side menu, then tap Get more extensions).

Are you using Dashclock or another type of widget?
If you tap once on the clock, then unlock, what does your screen show?
If you press and hold just under the clock, can you tap on a giant "+" that appears on the left (and add another widget) or delete the clock widget altogether by sliding it to the left on the Remove option?

Blue semicircle started appearing

Yesterday, a blue semicircle appeared on my Galaxy S3 and now I can't find a way to delete it, just move.
Here's a quick preview of it (I found the S3 image on Google and put the circle)
i.imgur.com/W7C1ynt.jpg
Also, you can move the circle on left/right side and also on top, but you can't delete it. And when you "open" it (with the finger going up/down/right/left) few applications appear (actually, those apps are installed with the Android itself, but...). Any help?
Multi Window.
I believe it's a Multi Window feature.
To Disable It:
1. Open "Setting" App
2. Tap on "Display"
3. Unmark to Enable/Disable Multi Window

[Q] Hide unused programs

Hi!
My previous Android was Samsung Galaxy. And there was a great feature - to hide unused build-in programs icons from the menus.
Is it possible for LG Optimus?
There is a great amount of standart programs on screen and I can not delete them and I can not hide them.
Have you any solution?
Thanks a lot!

Yup you can! After you're in the app drawer press the menu button and then hide/show apps and check the apps you want to hide then tap OK
And to remove them from your home screen just tap and hold until you pick up the icon and drag it into the trashbin
