Vibrate intensity? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

does anyone know of a way to lower the vibrate intensity? If I have this thing on a hard surface it sounds like a chainsaw! I an also have an issue with vibrate notifications occurring while I am on a call. I have set the setting in call settings for notifications to be of during a call but they still occur... It would be nice to change the length of the vibrate to about half of what it is now.

To answer your first question, I believe CM lets you adjust vibration intensity. I have no answer to your second question, but I have experienced it myself.

I turned off mine. When I get a call.
And I've never heard of one app that could do that. But who knows.

What I mean is like long short long vibrate. Something that will pulse til it got my attention.

I used to use an app called Missed Call on my droid to make custom settings for my contacts before handcent added that feature. I only text really so call settings don't matter to me but if I remember correctly, it has settings for everything from email to call to texts.
Just looked in the market and it seems to have been abandoned. You could still give it a try.

MoPho Selective Vibration

Currently, I keep my phone on vibrate most of the time. However, some people send me way too many texts which can be annoying. Is there a way to silence the vibration for certain contacts? I don't want to block their texts, I just don't want my phone to vibrate for those select contacts.
Bump... bump...
idk about for individuals but if you get chompsms (LOVE IT.) and turn off your other messenger, in chompsms settings you can go to notifications and vibrate pattern, hit custom and u type in how many seconds on/off it vibrates, for a quiet vibrate i put about
.015,.015,.015,.015,.015,.015,.015,.015 for a very long time, personally at the end i put ".075,.075,.075,.075 for two louder but still quiet and short vibrates at the end

Thanks for the ChompSMS recommendation it doesn't seem to provide a way to silence individual contact notifications. Any other suggestions?

Thank you for your suggestions as they led me to an app called Vibe which may do the trick!

Notification volume while on phone call

I'm really hoping there is a fix/solution for this because this makes absolutely no sense.
While on a phone call, the "notification" for text is so incredibly loud (through my headphones) that it hurts my ears. Now please don't tell me to just set the notification volume low because then I wouldn't be able to hear the notifications when I'm NOT on a phone call.
It seems incredibly ridiculous that one cannot adjust notification volume when on a phone call. On my blackberry while on a call, it would produce a soft chime if I receive a message but it's soft and just loud enough so I am aware of the incoming text. With this phone, it screams in my ear! And to make things worse, if I put the phone on speaker or handset, the notification screams through the speakers and the person on the call says what the hell was that???
Is the only option to adjust the notification volume down EVERY TIME I MAKE OR RECEIVE A PHONE CALL... or go deaf (or annoy the people I'm on a call with)?
Please tell me there is a real solution because I can't find one.

I don't want to turn off notifications altogether. I just don't want them going off at the standard set volume while on a call... because it's blaring loud.

I want the alert... I just don't want it to make me (and the person I'm on the phone with) deaf.

I downloaded GOSMS PRO and inside this app there is a setting to set to vibrate while on call... This app is much better than the stock messaging..IMO.

ahh, so go sms replaces the stock messaging system? i don't want that. but i do want the same thing that pj is looking for.
looks like there is nothing that can be done for it pj :-\
the only thing i can find to help you is, goto Settings / Sound / Notification Ringtone. now when you are on that menu, turn your volume rocker down. you will see that the "Notification volume" can go down (or up).
that is all i can find, should help some
Using tasker you can change the volume level during a call and set it higher after...

[Q] Custom vibrations for notifications

I dont think this has been asked as a thread but correct me if im wrong.
I know you can set custom vibrations for calls and groups etc but when i do that the notification vibrate is the normal constant vibrate. Any way to change this via an app or anything??
You can use lightflow app. You can set custom vibration, led notification, ring tone. etc for each notification.

and does that have an impact on the battery life?
I don't see much of a difference in battery life

[Q] Seperate Ringer and Notification weirdness.

I find myself hitting a brick wall in the way Samsung chose to deal with volume control. It seems if you set the ringer off it forces notifications to be off as well. I can't overcome this behavior with Tasker
Does anybody here know how to get around this as Cyanogen may be some time in coming.
Even when u hit the volume key and tape the settings icon and adjust the ringer and notification volume, still does that?

That does work but the moment you set the ringer to off it just disables the notification volume as well and ghosts it so you can't change it. Under other roms you can have a seperate notification volume while the ringer is turned off.
Is there a way to over ride this with root?
I see what u mean. I don't think my s3 did this. This phone does a lot of things differently. I can't get lock screen Short cuts with any security enabled lock screen for example. Seems like "holes" in touch wiz
