[Q] Bumper cases for AT&T SGS2 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Does anyone know if there are any Bumper Cases for the ATT SGS2 or anything that fits the ATT version?
I'm looking for something that would give me some drop protection without really adding any bulk to the phone. And I think a bumper case would be great if I can find anything.
So far I have not really been able to find anything. I saw a few international bumper cases but I don't know if they fit and I don't want to spend money for international shipping without knowing that it would fit properly.

This is the only one I could find.
cellular factory.com/find/index.php?qry=Plastic%20Bumper%20Frame&fq=cat:%22SAMSUNG%22
Take out the space in cellular factory
Apply "CVDQY4" for free shipping.

Yeah but that's for the international sgs2. I'm worried picking one up for the international version because the dimensions are different.

It will fit, just that it will cover the top noise canceling mic, won't effect it too much. You can always drill/poke a hole if you want.. lol

I purchased the one for $3.79. Standard shipping was only $4 so even if it doesn't fit I am only out $8. Only thing is its like a three week shipping time so it will be a while before I can give you feedback.

I thought the dimensions were the same for the i9100 and the i777....

They are the same... But international cases cover the top noise canceling mic on AT&T model since the mic is placed a different place compared to the international.

They are actually slightly different in dimensions.

^^^Well... similar enough for most if not all cases will fit..

So all of the spg cases will fit?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk

According to them, yes. Just that if you order international version, they will give you the international version screen protector.. They're slowly repackaging all/most of their international version cases for AT&T.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290957

I purchased the black bumper case from this ebay seller. http://www.ebay.com:80/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220870704009&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123
It came really fast. Shipping only took 2 days.
I really like this case. It is made of hard and soft tpu. It fits perfectly even though its made for the international version. It does have the cut out in the corner for the antenna. It DOES NOT have the right cut out for the second mic. I was going to drill a hole, but in my testing the mic still seems to work as it is barely covered.
This is a great bumper case for the price. It adds no bulk and still protects the phone. I will try to add pics later.

Are there any good bumper cases without the hole in the corner? I have a fear that if I ever drop my phone it will land exactly on that unprotected corner.

[Q] Mesh case for AT&T?! (updated: post #23)

I know the AT&T version of the SII is the closest to the european model. The only case I find attractive is the genuine mesh case:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGOGthJy_ZE
Any idea if this case would fit the AT&T model?
Thanks!
The International version specs : 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49 mm
AT&T version : 126 x 66 x 9 mm.
You really don;t need a case for this device. Its so slim and the back cover is readily available if one screws it up. Mine separated from removing it to switch out batteries. Then again I don;t use screen protectors either. I like hoe slick it is and the glass is really hard to mess up.

I agree gorilla glass is amazing I beat up my captivate. Only reason for me to get a case is if said case has a kick stand to prop up phone for movies

don't do it
The problem is that case leaves the corners exposed...I bought one for my international i9100
I bought the following...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Genuine-Galaxy-S2-i9100-SII-Mesh-Hard-Case-NEW-/180723707360?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a13f8ede0
I dropped the phone on the floor. It hit the corner and CRACK no more display. Beautiful case though...
The Official Mesh case is the only case I want to get for this device and I don't know if they will make an AT&T compatible one... It would be very nice if they did.
just chiming in..
got the black mesh case for my AT&T model.. doesn't fit..
so close but no cigar. It really is a nice case though!
Mesh case that fits i777
I have all of the following mesh cases.
These do NOT fit the Samsung Galaxy S2 i777 (AT&T):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190577180423
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056G07Z6
This one kind of fits:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180715368559
The fit isn't exactly perfect, but it's good enough. The texture is really nice - slightly tacky. The nice thing about this case is that the corners cover a little more of the phone than the other ones do, which should protect it a little better that the other ones. Just make a hole for the second microphone near the top, and you're good to go.
EDIT: The above case develops a crack with a few days within a few days of use. I cannot recommend it.
This case does fit perfectly:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320701889899
but, the top and bottom of the phone are fully exposed, and there is really no protection for the front. If you want a case to prevent scratches to the back of your phone, then this will work. If you want a case to protect your phone when you drop it, this won't protect your phone in the most vulnerable places for damage - the corners.

Looks the same as the eBay ones. But you say it does fit? As in the entire rim of the phone is in the case without one side being favored?
Just curious because I love the mesh case but this one for the i9100 does not fit my phone (ATT version)

I don't understand how one mesh case can be a different size from another. I have the international version and it fits perfectly. It doesnt set in the case without a tiny bit of force, it snaps in and is a perfect fit.

I don't think they are differnet but the dimensions of the att version and the international version are slightly different. Also.. Im not the only one who is not seeing a perfect fit. Even the distributer that I bought it from confirmed it doesn't fit right.

Yes, entire rim fits in and stays in almost perfectly. It's made for the international version, so the fit isn't exactly perfect. For the price it will work until a perfect one comes out. I'm a perfectionist. Most people would probably think that this thing fits just just fine.
I haven't dropped it yet, though, so I don't know how well the case will stay on the when dropped. But it is a very good fit.

The two mesh cases that don't have a metal name plate on them are slightly different. Look under the speaker hole, and notice that one has mesh holes all the way across, and the other one doesn't. You want the one that doesn't have holes all the way across the bottom row of mesh holes below the speaker hole.

dude.. where do you get the "right" GS2 case with the "right" mesh holes??
because mine doesn't have the name plate, but has mesh holes all along the bottom and definitely does not fit correctly!!

See post #7 above, the last link. You bought the one that doesn't fit. The other one with no mesh holes across the bottom of the speaker hole does fit. Look carefully, and you'll see the difference. I just ordered another one off of ebay last night for $2.50.

alrighty.. I seriously don't think there is another case out there this nice.. so, I'm gonna give this one a shot, despite it clearly saying it is compatible with the i9100, and not the i777 . But.. i have holes under my speaker button, so you might be on to something.. I'll order later today- and let you know when I get it.. thanks again.
ugh.. and they don't have it anymore
This is considered to be a row of holes below the speaker hole right. Cause this one fits perfectly.

International vs. AT&T Dimensions

I would like to post the dimensions of both phones. I have seen a lot of eBay and other 3rd party manufactures claim that if it works for the International version it will work for the AT&T version. That is plain false. When looking up these accessories take this in mind. I have posted these in inches because the AT&T site has it and I picked up the International version via Wiki.
International (Euro) Version: (4.93")H x (2.60")W x (.334")D
AT&T Version: (4.96")H x (2.60")W x (.35")D
Now you might be able to squeeze one of those gel protectors on, but it will probably look bad. I believe AT&T stores and some Best Buys will have at least one type of protectors for them on Sunday.
Hope this helps.
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621&idPhone2=4130
Honestly why would there be any difference in size? Would it be because the AT&T version has a row of capacitive buttons? I was honestly hoping that accessories for the AT&T version would work with the international version.
White iPhone vs Black iPhone dimension. At&T vs Verizon iPhone dimensions....yep

It's little bit different. This version has NFC chip.
My store has the otterbox commuter for the international s2. Fits the at&t model perfectly, although the hole for the noise cancellation mic on the top of the phone is offset.

In addition, a lot of them seem to have openings for the lanyard loop and sometimes for an antenna that the AT&T version both don't have. The antenna opening is pretty much the entire top right corner, so it would be weird to have that there and not provide any functionality (if anything removing functionality if it's going to be exposing an entire corner).
International Version cases will work... with modification.
I can confirm that cases for the International version seem to fit the AT&T version just fine. The slight size difference doesn't seem to matter, although there is one stipulation that must be taken into consideration...
The secondary microphone hole that is located on top of the phone near the 3.5mm jack is a few mm off from where it is located on the international version. I have attached pictures to demonstrate where it is off, and show the slight modification I had to make to my Incipio case for it to work. I had to to the same with a cheap TPU case I also purchased to try out.
Outside of that 5min adjustment w/ an razor blade, the case goes on and off just fine and doesn't seem overly tight on the phone. This is pretty much going to be a temporary case for me until something better comes out. I would really like the BodyGlove Mirage cases that AT&T sells at their stores to release for this phone. I have one on my Captivate, and one on the wife's Infuse, and they are great cases.
I have a Case-Mate Barely There case for the international sg2, can confirm it fits the AT&T version perfectly, except for that little offset where the noise cancellation mic at top, as others have mention re: other cases. Not a big deal to me, as I hardly use the phone as a phone (ha ha) and when I do, it's usually with Bluetooth speaker in the car, or headset.
I also have the CM Tough Case (similar to OtterBox commuter), but haven't tried it yet. My guess would be that it will also be a perfect fit, save for the offset mic at top. Since the base layer of the case is silicone, should be easy enough to cut cleanly with a razor to make the adjustment.

[Q] Cases with a kickstand

Does anyone know a good case with a kick stand? The most important features are just the kickstand and thinness. I know Casemate makes a great one, but it's way too thick.
This one seems okay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TPU-FoldOut...ccessories&hash=item2eb8015e60#ht_2188wt_1163
But I'd have to make a slight modification for the microphone, and most importantly, I don't know if it will fit. I'm quite weary of any of these cases that can fit both the international and ATT versions.
I bought my GS2 on launch day and ATT had 4 different cases in the store. Case Mate was the only one offered with a kick stand but it felt cheap so I opted not to get it. There was a nice leather case but none of them fit the phone, lol. Guess those will be sent back.

Thanks for the link and the info...I too got my SGSII on launch day and was disappointed at the lack of accessories and items available for the AT&T branded SGSII. I even have communicated with Body Glove about one of their cases (As I have been a fan of that one and used it on my Cappy and Infuse both) but they said they will not be producing a Body Glove case for our phone So I am going to try the above listed one and I will let you know. Maybe even post some screens and update the thread.

I bought this today instead of the leather case...
Its definitely not as bulky as I thought it would be (previous experience with the thrill and infuse pop cases) and the kickstand works great!
It also fits real nicely. The leather case seemed a little too tight and that it would require some effort to put in properly

I've had this for about 3 days now. I think its called Minisuit
Pros: Thin, light, tight fit, good kickstand, cheap, quick delivery
Cons: no hole for secondary mic, generic micro usb rechargers have trouble given cutout (stock cable works fine)
Happy enough with it for now.

I was considering that one, but hard cases are more difficult to cut the mic opening.
ny gs2 doesn't say Samsung or att on front.... only says galaxy S on back cover... is that supposed to be like that

Ok, I got the case.
Doesn't fit 100%.
The bottom in particular, but it's barely noticeable. The top mic needs to be cut out some more, which shouldn't be too difficult since it's not plastic.
Case actually looks a lot better than I expected. The kickstand is very flimsy, which I expected. Once you put the stand up, don't put any pressure on it. It's very likely to just snap off. The power button becomes pretty stiff, too.
They also ran out of minisuit keychain screen cleaners. They said if I want one, email them about how I feel my order is "incomplete without one," and they'll send one when they have more stock.
Kind of a weird way to make us word it.
Either way, I'd recommend this if you need a very sleek and thin case that doubles as a flimsy kickstand.

Aluminum Battery Cover.

Just ran across these on Ebay. not sure if they would fit out models or not but the black and silver ones look pretty slick.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Me...140?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bf5c59f4
and they kinda looked raised like the 2000mah battery covers do. (judging from the looks of the camera hole)
might order one after my Taurus bumper comes in.
anyone already tried one??
Hmm... the black and silver look pretty nice - but I'd expect the price to be a bit less for random parts coming out of Hong Kong. At least the shipping is free though.
Maybe I'll try one.
Well, according to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313054

Confirming this DOES NOT FIT the ATT model. I bought this when I had brought my white SGS II International model back from Thailand, and had used it a couple days on that. they do look nice. But then when I switched to the AT&T model I sold the cover with it. Wish they'd fit the ATT model. The only thing that really concerned me was if the NFC would work through the back, but we likely won't have to worry about that since nobody seems to have any motivation to enable the NFC on our phones, hehe.
still hve not recieved mine. acording to the shipping info it is listed to be delivered on the 7th.
as soon as i get it i will let you guys know.
I am curious as well, I really like the look of these metal battery covers.
Ok. Just got mine out of the mail box. I appears to be a thin peice of aluminum adhered to a thin plastic back cover. But i can Confirm that...

snaps right on no problems. and looks awesome with my black Taurus Bumper

You mentioned it was a metal cover over the plastic backing, does this make the phone thicker in any way? Is there now a ridge where the battery cover meets the plastic on the phone?
Looks good though!
Phone is very very slightly thicker.
Not sure about the ridge. Would have to remove my Taurus to see. Might when i get home

LUKEN : yes it does have a very small lip/edge to it without the bumper on.
SIMBA: no it does not seem to effect either gps or signal strength.

If it's not too much trouble, could you post some pictures without your Taurus on? Thanks! I really want to get one

Cases - Do we know for sure if International version will work?

I am on the prowl for a case for my upcoming Samsung Note. I am having difficulty finding (of course) any cases that are made specifically for the AT&T Version.
Do we have any confirmation that the International Version and the AT&T LTE Version are in anyway different? Mic Placement, Etc?
What are all of you buying for a case?
I bought a case from Amazon for 5 bucks for international note. If it doesn't work then I am out only 5 bucks.
Sent from the SuperStreak! ;-)
Best Buy giving away free case!!
I got a free case from Best Buy for Preordering my Note from them and then they gave me $50 bucks!

From what I understand, device dimensions are the same, but no one has yet been able to say whether or not MIC placement is identical.
From the pics i have seen the Mic looks like it is in the same place but not sure about the 3 mm jack
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I emailed SGP and one other case manufacturer to see if they are the exact same.
The microphone thing worries me
Edit: just compared two back shot pictures of the note. One international and one AT&T. The 3.5mm jack is in the same position.
i ordered an aluminum bumper from ebay. it should be here soon. ill update everyone when i get my note!
for aluminum bumpers, i dont see a problem with mic placement. or the 3mm jack. you can just mod them easily.
anyway, speck a couple of cases out. i have used the candyshells on my iphone for about 2 years now and have dropped it about a billion times. the phone is in good condition still so they work good!

As far as we have been told, the International and 4G LTE versions are identical in shape. The internals and weight are different, but cosmetically, they are almost identical. The only noticeable difference is the home button. The international version has a physical click home button but the AT&T version has a capacitance home button. This does not effect the cases shape. You can see images of the case we will have in stock (later this week) here:
Amazon ASIN: B0075WQ118 (introductory sale price of $4.95)
You should expect to see other colors (White, Clear, Blue, Red, Purple) in this style online in a matter of days. The Gloss and Matte versions will follow later next week. Let me know if you have any questions about this case.

Thanks...I see your case shows the AT&T Version with the capacitive buttons....guess that means your case should fit like a glove. I went ahead and ordered the white one figuring that if I didn't like it...i'd only be out 8 bucks.
On another note...(no pun intended).. I currently have an IPhone 4s and use a Credit card case like the one in the attached images... Since I've been an Iphone user since the very first one, I'm having difficulty finding decent cases for other phones (IE...Note).
Are there any cases like this out there for the Note?
TIA!
What are the holes on the bottom right of the phone? It is located on the backside of the phone directly across the speaker phone. I see some cases for the N7000 having the slots opened for it and some just covers it. Also most pictures of the International Galaxy Note does not have the holes there.. is this ATT only?
Thank you for clarifying that. Makes more sense, now I can shop with ease.
Cimo, thanks for the info. About to order this case right now.
Real quick, I don't suppose if you know if this will work with ProClip's vehicle mount for the note? I know they don't have much room for give so I was planning on going with no case on the phone . . . but I like the looks of this case and the deal is pretty hard to beat.
I just bought this one from Elago.
http://www.amazon.com/elago-Slim-Ca..._1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1328640739&sr=1-3
I always used Elago with my iPhone 4. They're not the best at protection, but they're the thinnest short of a decal skin. For me, that's the most important thing on a big phone.
I bought the white, because I have the white note, but maybe I'll buy another color too later, or return the white. Hope it's not that tight, like the Amazon reviewer implies, but I don't plan on removing it ever.
This one seems to be thin enough too: http://www.amazon.com/elago-Handmad..._1_9?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1328640739&sr=1-9
I was thinking about getting the SGP because it covers the power and volume buttons.
http://www.amazon.com/SGP-Samsung-G...XD94/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328645558&sr=8-1
They also have a padded thinner case like the one mentioned above but it is quite expensive. I really want to get a aluminum bumper but $50+ seems too much for protection that don't even cover the rear.

I see some on eBay for $30
Sent from my Apple Newton MessagePad 2100
Looking into buying the SGP ultra thin case on Amazon. $25 w/ free shipping
how difficult is it to take these cases/covers off of the Note? (so i can change the sd card or battery)
so international Note accessories work well on ATT note, any pics?
For Seidio Fans
Seidio has a place holder up for the Galaxy Note! Won't be long now before the cases come out. I wonder if they will include a holster for the surface case?

Thanks for the info. I have a few questions:
Will a screen protector come with each of those cases?
I noticed the purple S-Line link doesn't go to product page.....But will you guys still be selling it in that color?
And finally, does the Gloss and S-Line cases both feel about the same?
EDIT: Nevermind. I scrolled through your product pages and was able to find that purple case.
Here is mine. Just received it today. It's a G4-slim fit. It's a hard case that is super thin and has a rubbery non -slip feel to it.
