I have a Galaxy S II, very nice and beautiful, have the stable official cyanogenmod. I would recommend you to buy it. But you might want to consider Nexus Prime which is coming out very soon.

But less chance to come india soon like other nexus series

Now this is something to think about ...thanks for the info bro.....
@nims11 i wont buy in India bro...will leave to UK this semester holidays...

Get the Nexus Prime or, if you can't wait, the Galaxy S2. Don't get the Nexus S (unless you're looking for a slightly cheaper product). It's a superb phone but there are better devices currently/very soon to be on the Market.

Galaxy W is cool.

obviously if u compare both sgs2 and nexus s, sgs2 is way better by miles. and way pricey too
agreed with most of comment here, if u could wait abit longer just go for nexus prime.

any news on when nexus prime ll be launched???

Launch is 19th but when the phone will be available to buy is not known (by me at least). We'll know a lot more Wednesday.

Nexus Prime seems to be outstanding from what I heard from rumours!
Its launch was delayed due to death of Steve Jobs.

Not much of an upgrade. I'd wait until the new series of phones come out (HTC One-X, SGSIII).

This... Hold out for a little longer and you'll feel like you really upgraded instead of just changed phones.

I'm thinking of this too. If the size isn't an issue for you then I'd say go for it. Better screen res, bigger, bit faster, it's god damn sexy. If I had the cash I'd do it today, but I have to wait a bit.
better wait for SIII
change to galaxy note now? from an sgs2
sgs3 will come in march. htc one x is there
there is no reason at all to step back to an old phone
I would definetely wait for the SIII! The SII isn't an old phone so i would just wait a few months until the SIII becomes cheaper. But if you really love the GNote, then just go for it
I made that upgrade and I just love my Note, screen size is just perfect for me. Im not waiting for SGSIII I'm gonna hold to this Note and upgrade it when Note II/or Note S is out
Played with Note few days and first impression is that it is slower than SGS2 but with better screen..........it is too big for my taste and everyday use so i will stick with SGS2...........
Note too big for me.
will keep using gs2 until gs4 or 5, until gs2 get old. get slower when android os upgrade to 4 5 6.......

Note 7

I see another Note 7 being discussed but it is the GT-N7000 and this a GT-N5100. I may bypass the Note 2 after seeing this.

It doesn't say whether it's a phone or tablet
sent from my lovely phone....hmmm wait its a tablet...waaa i dont really know.....im PARANOID NoW!
It looks to much like our Note to be a tablet. Wishful thinking.
Maybe the 7100 is a tablet and the 5100 is a phone.
I hope its just a little brother to the 10.1 that I really wanted and never got because of its ridiculous price.

I guess being an artist, it only sounds logical to even consider buying a tablet if it has a pen to draw on. At least that's how I justify the money since my note can do all the work I need anyways. If they come out with a affordable GNote tablet I will buy it and then shift my phone to the next Nexus device after the Nexus 4. That way I can stay at the top of development for my phone rather then waiting forever for updates and at the same time have something to draw on. Honestly, the galaxy note is still too small for me to draw elaborate drawings on.
That picture is an I717 ....running GB 2.3.6
Probably a demo unit too....
Likely a 7 inch note would not be a phone ...g

My 7" Samsung tab is also a phone. It depends on the modem chipset.
I've read enough now that I believe that this new 5100 will be more of a tablet.
There have been rumors of a smaller version of the GNote 10.1 so this is most likely it.
if/when it comes out internationally.... it will have phone radios....and a green phone tile on the home row....

S3 or Note 2

Should i buy s3 or note 2? Hows the quality on note 2?
Wait! The new devices coming out at CES are better than the Note 2 and SGS3.
Nexus .

Both are technically excellent, personal preference on the size is the decider - I held both in my hand when deciding. The note was far too big for my pocket and embarrasing to hold to your ear (think 1980's brick sized phones).
Yea new devices r coming so bassically u r getting 'old' devices..

Note 2 for the updated screen etc. But SGS4 out soon, save your money up to buy it outright on day one without delay.

When you can actually get the s4 they will already release the s5

They are both good phones and to the save up for a s4 when it comes out. Samsung hasn't put out a release date and then the s5 or nexus 5 is coming out. There is always something newer and better around the corner

Why not read around the forums and see what people are actually saying, rather than asking people's opinions, which on this site are driven by people's egos and desire to voice their opinions

The Galaxy S3 is the latest of the S Series... Its hardly old, its 6 months old, in Android terms this is old but it excels almost every device at CES, with the exception of the Xperia Z maybe...

Which phone to buy now ??

Hi everyone... i am a student and currently own a Samsung galaxy s2 for last 10 months...
Last week i got my screen cracked but everything is working fine...
I was thinking if it would be a good idea to sell this and buy a new phone instead of spending 6500 inr for screen...
If yes then which one...

i would buy a s2 again.
im very interested in smartphones and always buy the newest and best phones. but when i buyed my s2 a long time ago, i was so happy with it,
the cam is very very good, the speed is awesome and its not to big like s3 or the notes. as u can see its still supported even from samsung with new jelly bean upgrade. i dont know much phones which get 2 android upgrades (from gb to ics, from ics to jb) except the google phones and the s2 is still supported by good devs. so why not buy a s2?

I would agree in some point. Yeah it is got a very good graphics card and all. But you might wanna go a little more future proof with the 2GB RAM option. Not that you need/use it all but its worth having for the future. Im always going with the Note series now but the Nexis 4 is a pretty solid buy

[Q] End of Galaxy user? Should i get Nexus 4?

I had iPhone 3G as my first phone, following by 4s then i switched to Galaxy s3 in April 2013. I've learned a lot, i've flashed many custom roms, kernel etc.
After seeing Samsung delaying updates and transporting regional lock along with kitkat update are the reason that i come to decision that i will sell my galaxy s3 for Nexus 4 (cant afford n5 yet).
I need your help guys
How good is the battery on nexus 4 compared to galaxy s3?
Idc about storage
This is a q&a thread, so it also belongs there. But to answer your question. Comparing stock of both devices, the s3 definitely wins. Samsung is good at creating a good battery life, even with touchwiz
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You endured once in a blue moon updates in iOS, but you can't in android, which there is an update almost every week?
Sent from my GT-I9300
S3 wins hands down. Tho I would recommend getting sony because don't delay the update
I disagree.
Bells and whistles like smart stay that doesn't even work properly after the jellybean update or a maybe slightly better camera (though I don't find much difference) doesn't outweight not having proper multitask. Also, neither touchwiz nor aosp have the nexus smoothness. Even my dad's former galaxy nexus feels slightly better than my s3.
If you can live with not having an sdcard or a removable battery, I'd say the n4 provides a better user experience (did try it for about a month). The only reason I'm not getting the n4 is because I'm waiting out the n5.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
This thread would be best off in the Nexus 4 section, most users who browse the S3 forums still have and use the S3.

This is a joke, right? S3 is in overall better then the nexus 4. S3 will get 4.4. Regional lock can be removed. Also SD-Card and removable battery is essential for a phone in my opinion. (Plus, the N4 is an Lg device ) So if you don't plan to go from S3 to N5, stick to the S3!
well i am curious how long samaung/other custom devs will continue support galaxy s3 in 2014
cuz S4 still havent recieved 4.3 and 4.4 is already rolling out for Sony flagship device soon, which means this is my last samsung device >.<
And isn't mali 400mp old tho?
i will buy N5 in April then
thanks for the replies

Duuuuude....4.4 has not even rolled out to Nexus devices. Hell, it hasn't even been announced. No way can it roll out for Sony devices any time soon.
Sorry i worded that incorrectly but i hope you see my point; Im disappointed with samsung updates. I should have went for n3 in the first place, i'd have saved £40 anyways.
How the hell are you disappointed with Samsung updates?!?! They are right behind Google when it comes to updates. LG and HTC suck at updates.

I'll have to disagree with the HTC part. My HTC one just got 4.3. I own a note 2 and an s3 and both are still stuck on 4.1. HTC seems to be improving their update speed.

Except if your aiming to the n4 for its price. I seriously doubt the n5 will have the same price the n4 has. The n4 is, at this time, the best bang for the buck around. And I suspect it will continue to be for a good while.
