Should i? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The arc(normal one) arrived cheap(589usd), i dont have the money but by december i will, should i upgrade to it? Or should i save my money and wait for a better upgrade?
My x10 is in top condition, no problems and i got a sgs1 as a backup phone brand new that i got in exchange of my old milestone
But the arc is so cool(or at least seems like it since i havent tested it)

Bad choice..
The arc is not worth it and has some build quality issues.

Keep your Money!
Soon we will have some new models (Several Dual Cores), and by the next year, expect some quads...

Quad core cellphones? Theres barely any use for duals, that would be one OP phone

Is this a known issue? Or.your own arc?

The body has been cracking for many users by the proximity sensor and se is trying to deny it.
Go to the arc forums and read the huge thread in general.
The x10 has build issues too, especially when it comes to the micro usb port. Many can't charge or flash radios or upgrade

That would be a dumb decision if you ask me specially for you who have a X10 & SG in good condition, Wait for a phone that beside looking cool actually worth the money & feel like an upgrade

i would keep my money and wait for a real upgrade next year, especially if you have 2 phones in great condition.

Yes, both phones are perfect, guess i got a (got to have the latest) fever going on
But with my x10 running 2.3 its not that outdated, and sgs still runs 2.1 but i dont even use it, i didnt planned to have it, i got it cause the store couldnt replace the milestone, its only a backup in case the x10 screws. At least is the amoled one

Perhaps we like the phone? Also maybe we don't want to sign a new contract with verizon and don't want to shell out big bucks for a new phone at the poor of contract price.

I have yet to find another android phone with a form factor that I like as well as the Eris. It fits well in my hand, the buttons are placed nicely and it's a great size for me & my tiny hands. With it rooted & OC'd it runs how I want. I also don't have it on a V contract, I have it on PagePlus and only download & stream when on WiFi saving me ALOT of money.
So I have a great smartphone that does all of what I need, most of what I want, and it fits me perfectly in form and function.
And that is why I still own an Eris.
Didn't this Guy already post a thread like this elsewhere.

Because they are rediculously bad ass considering you can get them on craigslist for less than $100 in some cases.
It was also a VERY popular phone so there are a lot of goodies and rom's that have been developed.
And it runs Froyo very well. So the only things a new phone can do for an Eris user is really more proc and RAM. And I don't really 'need' those things right now.

Give me the money & I'l upgrade today!
I didn't repost this thread. A moderator must hasn't done this. Maybe they want you to really think about why you like your phone. I loved the Eris. I just have moved on to bigger and better things. My logic for asking the question was not to be a smart a$$, but to suggest that other Eris owners make the switch. Sorry if it offended anyone. You will not see any more posts from ME in this forum.

PlayStation phone running gingerbread

I defanitly know this is the right place to put this but I didn't know where else to put this where it would actually see the day of light lol. But here it is the new PlayStation phone running on gingerbread =D full story here http://www.androidcentral.com/sonys-playstation-phone-gets-caught-blurrycam-gingerbread
Sent from my FroShedYo.V6 using XDA App
Be advised, this is just a opinion. I know that everyone has one but at least mine has examples. I'm not saying that it is or it is not the phone in the video
Hmm almost looks too good to be true. If I remember correctly SE had armed guards at the E3 when they reveled the PS3 to the world too see and try out. In fact SE just had the guts of the unit out but I'm getting off point. After the Iphone 4 being "found on the floor at a bar" incident I think SE would not let their product be "leaked" anywhere and nowhere soon. for all we know it could be the XPeria X10.
Also after some searching for cases that would look like the model in the video (although blurry you can see rounded edges on top and some silver buttons on the bottom) I came across this phone The Sony Ericson Vivas the link about it (with picture) can be found here: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_vivaz-3022.php
Due to the quality of the video, we can not exactly tell what OS the person is using. Possibly rooted to use a android OS. I'm not a dev and do not know how to program but look haw far people have gone. Anything is possible
One more thought, after the recent jailbreaking methods of the PS3 Sony has spent a lot of time with firmware updates and world wide court dates to halt the sale and distribution of usb devices that jailbreak the PS3 so SE may actually take longer to release to make it "un-jailbreakable" If a android OS is gonna be released on the phone then, well, theres an app for that. Great now I'm gonna get sued by Uncle Steve for copyright on the app comment.
I absolutely agree with you. You can't really trust what you read but I thought it was pretty kick ass that it somebody would even be able to put gingerbread on a Sony phone. There was also some sort of leak that suposably a new version of the galaxy was found at a flea market in Greece. Sounds like BS to me but if it is true I defanitly want to move there they're getting all the good **** first lmao

[Q] Reset

So with the Motorola Triumph being announced today, I am planning to return my LG Optimus V so I can get the Triumph while I'm still in the return period at Best Buy.
I've rooted the V, installed ClockWorkMod, and installed AOSP CM7 ROM. How do I go about restoring it to the factory ROM and removing ClockWorkMod? Alternately, do you think I could just reset to the standard AOSP CM7 mod and return it hoping they don't notice? - Scratch that. Probably should restore to original ROM since in AOSP some functionality doesn't work (Camera, bluetooth, etc) so Best Buy doesn't have to throw the phone out and lose $200.
Edit:
I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. Please move it if it is.

definitely gonna look into getting the triumph when its released. A 5.1mp camera with flash and a way faster processor! But the question is: does it have a locked bootloader?
As for your question, there is nothing wrong with your phone and you voided your warrenty. returning it now is against best buys rules and could also be considered illegal. That being said did you make a backup of your factory install before you installed cm7?
Do what I did, restore your vanilla unrooted stock nandroid and then flash the stock recovery. You could do it through recovery, there is a nice post in this forum for the flashing the stock recovery from within the custom recovery to make it easy. Done.
Sent from my VM670 using XDA App
Thank you, but could you give me a little more guidance? Where is the post for flashing the stock recovery?
The V is my first Android phone, so I am kinda an android n00b. I'm not sure I have my vanilla stock nandroid backup. I think I may have deleted it to get some space/might not have made one because of the guide I was following didn't specify to.

There is no way this phone will cost 300-400 bucks. I bet it will be $250 tops.
I wouldnt mind picking one of these up for $150 used but I would be willing to pay up to 250 if the phone is fast and has good battery life. I use my android phone for everything: music, email, games, etc. So its not that bad a deal considering I am not going to drop money on an iPod or a DS/PSP.
Try every post that says Stock in the title.
I'm not too excited about this new phone. I laugh everytime I see someone with a big phone holding it up to their ear, looks like they are holding a small book against their head. I would rather have a phone that fits easily in my pocket, and a tablet for things I want a larger screen for.
Your right its a little big but has a 1ghz processor. Sure we will wait and see how what I will cost 250.00 to 300.00. I would ckeck it out first.

yeah moto stuff is pretty locked down..
they cracked the atrix though
A Friend of mine here got one.
On Stock, it really sux, but the last update removed all the "Blur" crap.
The Kernel can be Unlocked also, and there is a few custom roms (But a good part doesn't recognise the Dock OR the fingerprint sensor).
If i was you, i would wait sometime. Nexus Prime and a few other phones are about to be launched. (And speaking frankly. The Motorola design trully sux, lol)

I agree with lord Baal here, but the atrix is great if your with ATT, you need a updated phone now, and it has a very low price at the moment if your ready for an upgrade.
The phone itself is very fast once modded. Look at my cm7 pics in my profile of the atrix in my profile. I have some stats ran by cf-bench that are amazing and pass a sgs2 if your running cm7 beta.
I believe the atrix is right next to the sgs2 in every category. Don't count this phone out. I would of waited for something better but my x10 was too slow for school things I had to do so I bought the atrix. I am glad I did.

A farewell.

Hi all.
My wife's phone recently played out for the third time within a year (D2). When they replaced it this time they sent her a completely different phone.
Well she liked my DX2 better so I got the other (sam strat) phone. I had planned on moving to another phone in the not so distant future but looks like I got moved sooner then I thought. (Still gonna get a different phone in the near future)
The DX2 community on here is incredible, and I am sure that goes without saying and everyone of you guys and gals know that! I will miss my phone and the community but it's time to move on I suppose. I wish you all the best, I am sure I will stop in from time to time to check up on things.
DK, your an awesome Dev. and I think more so then that you seem to be a super guy from what one can get to know someone else through communicating over the internet / forums. Thanks man for all your time and effort!
GL all.
Don't be a stranger and be sure to stop in from time to time. When I got my Gnex, the thought crossed my mind that I may not frequent the DX2 community as much. But I just can't let it go. Other areas here on XDA just don't offer what is abundant here. By far the best on the web, hands down.
Best of luck in your future endeavors...neighbor!

Had my fun on the X2 from Eclipse to CM7 and CM9 so I know whats what with the device as well. So thats a +1 for me as well. Guess I will see you over on rootzwiki then? They have a forum for the Stratosphere. Rooting+flashing isn't so bad once you learn how to use odin. It's definitly a lot easier rooting the x2, but oh well. Still stuck with 2 or 3 roms too which are all tweaked versions of stock because the radio interface layer is locked by samsung. They say we're supposed to get ICS(only reps, no official updates), but won't give out any dates or anything. Oh well.
I reccommend tweaked 2.2. Pretty awesome!
