I can't post something like this, because my phone is charging as soon as I spot an outlet (not more than 4 hours without charging).
but in the train I can get 30% off the battery in 3 hours with screen on constantly. Backlight: 10% (with widgetsoid), WiFi on and connected. UberMusic running, and browsing with Opera Mobile or RageReader.

Thats a good number coz wifi drains battery faster than data services

I use https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jim2&feature=search_result, but I think that it works the same if you go to settings > display > brightness.

Thanks. Will test it. I thought the sensor works on its own. Cant able to figure that though it includes the sensor on the front.

Well, actually, the sensor alway will change the display settings a bit, unless you put in on 100%.

Set brightness slider to near about 20% in settings
Now goto homescreen and put the brightness widget there...now click on it twice/thrice such that screen first lit up and then again dim
Now whenever sensor notices brigt light, it will set the max display to the place where you set the slider

My neo's battery life just sux..
Standby for 6:30 hours -From 100% to 70% ....
----------
Another test,
Was charged to full, WiFi on, got a phone call (Duration : 5 minutes) , answered it while Wifi on but disconnected from the charger, from 100% to 98% .. Played few games on it for 25 minutes, and it went to 90% ......
Is that anyway good ??? I guess its bad..
If there is a fix please tell me xP , Mine is on 2.3.3 and not rooted (I have 2 years warrenty hahhaha)
Thanks.

2.3.4 update increases battery life to about 15~20%

Region. 2.3.4 isn't available in all regions yet. I'm also showing 2.3.3 as the latest.

Seems like even you haven't rooted ur Neø, follow above steps and then you will have 2.3.4
And believe me guys its worth updating to 2.3.4
Increases performance(especially in quadrant ) and battery life

Indeed I haven't rooted my phone. Haven't felt the need yet. And if I use wotanserver to flash 2.3.4 from different region then OTA updates will stop working. I'm in no hurry, I'm perfectly happy on 2.3.3.

Well there is an update for the rom and kernel i think maybe once you update it it will improve the battery life.
Or you can try another kernel i personally use rage kernel and undervolt it so i get o good battery life. In my personal experience the interactivex governor it's the best one for bat life and so overclocking it's not exactly good for it so maybe you can restore to 1 ghz and install the v6 superscript.
But yeah the overall battery life of our phones is not great.

.69 is only for Germany, related to legal issues with Gmail, no bug fixes there.
Other regions is .62.
My idea: Check Settings-About the Phone-Battery Use
What uses the battery most there? Does any of the apps sync data all the time? Bluetooth/GPS turned on?

okay but which kinda of apps do yhu know gat auto-sync?
You can install cpu spy and let the phone overnight. Then check if your phone is entering into deep sleep.
Another thing that waste a lot of energy is checking the battery haha. The first day with my phone was like that, I was checking my phone battery percentage every time.
You can also try Easy Battery Saver to disable the Data every 15 minutes when the screen is off.
Another thing to remember is that our phone only have 1200 battery with a 1 Ghz phone, so our battery is very low for the hardware.
My phone last with moderate use with HSDPA always on like 14-16 hours.

These are the biggest battery users.
Also we can't help, if we don't know what you use your phone for. If you are gaming a lot, then of course, it won't last long. Share your Battery Usage screen and also, if you have root, then BetterBatteryStats info page of Partial Wakelocks, Alarms and Processes.
i put my lww every night on charger, i have about 2-3 hours on wifi a day and rest is on 3g+ calls and sms
Yup, agree with Someguy.. use BetterBatteryStats and figure out what's been running. Then get Startup Auditor to stop it from self starting or a Root app remover and disable it..

Yeah, that may be, but the thing with smartphones (not just android) a multitude of things can run in the background without you knowing. If something prevents the CPU from going into sleep mode all the time, your battery life is gonna suffer.
Check that first. Odds are it's something you installed. In which case, sure, a factory reset can fix the problem but it'll come back once you install that app again.. Get the point?

Don't use taskkillers at all.
Task killer kills the apps and if these start automatically again, it uses more power.
It is better to leave the app running than closing it and then it starting itself again. Android kills some apps or places them to cache if RAM is needed. Android doesn't work the same like Windows.

Is completely normal with smartphones. The batteries do not last very long on smartphones.
ICS uses a lot of phone's CPU which results in more battery usage. You can do nothing but wait until SONY does something about it in next update!

Battery drain on neo v

Hi guys. Just noticed that I have battery drain. My battery life is about 6 hours. I have stock ics rom ( 4.1.B.0.431 ). I've disabled wifi, 3G, set brightness to 35% but have same problem.
Since you are on stock ICS, I suppose your baseband version is
.72 . Try flashing a lower baseband. Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640641
You can also turn off the bravia engine! Saves some for me! Or juz see which apps eat most of the battery and find a solution for them! Also do u use any task killer? ( battery Dr. Is the best! Its widget is a great task killer!)

BB would not be the problem, check whats consuming battery using 'Better Battery Stats" either here or on Play Store
and to be honest, stay away from crap like task killers
PS : i used Juice Defender Ultimate when i used stock, nothing since custom ROMs
Another way
I use turn off keypad light to save energy too
to do this , first you must root your device and install Root Explorer , then go this address :
/sys/class/leds/button-backlight and change the file brightness to the value 1.
Than change the file max_current to 1, too. Go to /system/etc and than hw_config.sh and change max_current to 1. Reboot & Finished :good:

For stock, non root - your only options are the likes of Juice Defender.
At least root your phone & get rid of the bloatware. You will realize the difference.

Ridiculous battery drain on my Galaxy S III

My phone battery life has gotten worse on my week old Samsung device.
I first looked up that there was a problem with a decimal point somewhere in a file. I followed necessary steps online to root my device and flash whatever it was (sorry don't know the jargon, I'm an Apple geek but very new to Android) to sort out my battery problem with cell standby mode showing at 75% in the battery settings menu.
I did notice a difference after doing this for ONE day.
My phone has drained horrendously today after 4 hours after a full charge, I was down to 30% battery life.
Wifi is off, Power saving mode is off (after reading online that it actually drains more power), GPS is off, Bluetooth is off, Sync is off and Driving Mode is off.
Everytime I use my device, I always use Task Manager and "Remove All" then I clear my RAM (which always closes 22 apps, even if I've just sent a text!)
This phone is driving me crazy with this issue and I'm about ready to throw it through a window and go back to my iPhone 4S.
I moved to Android because I didn't like the small screen on an iPhone. BAD MOVE!!!!
If anyone can help me out with some resolution, I'd be grateful. I'm new to Android so this is all just confusing me.
Thank you. :good:
check apps are not refreshing every 15 minutes or so, eg Facebook. Twitter. Log out of Google Talk, its logged in by default. Turn off location history (Latittude) in Maps. Just basically check the apps you have installed.

I shouldn't have to turn off Facebook and Twitter to be fair. My iPhone never had any problems with them two apps being signed in and being set up for push notifications. I can't believe how bad Android actually is.
Thank you for the warning about Google Talk, I didn't know about that. Now signed out. I don't think I have Google Latitude. I can't find it.

The Facebook app for android is a pos, its a known battery killer. there's a new one coming.
Losing that much battery in 4 hours is a bit much though. How much screen on time?
Maps kills battery too, network location service. Leave GPS on, turn off wireless location, if you get what I mean.
GPS is only used when an app is in use, network location is pinging away in the background all the time.
Android isn't bad, its just not a kids os like iOS, it takes a bit of learning to get the most out of it.
Once you start delving into it you'll get hooked.

Install apps like cpu spy and better battery statts, that gives you a vieuw about cpu deep sleep time and apps keeping the cpu awake with abnormal activity and thus draining the battery

I was at work during those 4 hours so I literally wasn't using my phone at all. The phone screen was locked and in my pocket.
I got it out on my break and couldn't believe just how much my battery had drained.
com.sec.android.app.launcher was showing at 23%
Android OS 20%
Samsung Syncadapters 9%
Android System 9%
Twitter 8%
eBay 8%
Screen 4%
I don't know the rest cos I just took a screen shot to send it to my friend to ask what the first one was.
I really can't see me and Android getting on to be honest, which is a shame because I love the actual handset but I really don't like the operating system at all.

Launcher?!? Damn, that's unusual.
When an app does that its called a wakelock, it happens sometimes.
You could try something simple like a reboot and that might solve it or you could go to settings > applications manager > all > touchwiz home (something like that) and clear data.
Alternatively you could download a vanilla android launcher like nova or apex from the play store.
your launcher is your home screens and your app drawer.
Search xda for "betterbatterystats" and use that app to see what else is causing these wakelocks.
Repeat the same thing tomorrow and that'll give you precise info on the troublesome apps.

dont clear ram! everytime u do that all the apps have to re-open and it only drains battery.
try to let android handle the ram.
and also let the battery drain a few times and charge at once.
battery should last at least 24 hours with 2-3 hours screen time.
also use wifi rether then 3g

Hey, but where is your point, if you really don't like Android and you just want a bigger screen get the new iPhone 5.

Just getting the better battery stats app. Charge to full. Leave unchanged overnight and when you wake up in the morning, see what is causing the drain and fix it.

Seriously, what are you doing here? It seems like Android is not for everybody, at least it's not for you... You are doing something really wrong to have that battery drain, or your device is defective.

Battery usage remaining Widget???

Is there a widget which will tell you how many hours of usage you have left....I know there are apps that can tell you this but I am looking for just a widget with all the info such as time left for surfing or watching videos etc.
there are quite a few, but i've always used battery monitor widget pro. it's got tons of info as well as estimated times.

The calibration feature seems to be based on tried-&-true techniques & would only make it more accurate. It works pretty well without calibrating, so the worst that could happen is that it will work better. I am glad you like the app. I liked it so much that I purchased the ad-free version to support the Dev.

I guess it can only make it better ... will give it a go whenever I get an hour free. Thanks again :good:
@BigBroham1984 so I did the calibration and the new times it gave were stupid, for some reason all the calibration tests (video, music and internet) took 3% each which made me think the calibration was off lol. Anyways I uninstalled it and reinstalled a fresh copy to get the numbers back to the old one.
So now I have 9.30hrs of Internet on a widget (which is spot on screen time) HOWEVER if I open the app at all it sets it 12 hrs Internet time remaining so now I basically just have the widget which works nicely but if I do click it accidentally I will have to reinstall it Lol. Apart from this annoyance the widget is great.

I ended up getting 3% for music, 5% for video, and 7% for internet. Thats significantly worse than yours and it estimated about 6 hours of wifi time. Which is pretty close. I generally get 5-6 hours

5-6 hours , has it always been that bad or is it just the issues your having causing such battery drain..
