Two questions about Windows Mobile 6 on the prophets

hello,
i have two questions about theses roms here:
1. some roms have the 3d cube from the HTC touch enabled. is this cube loaded into the program memory (ram) all the time or is it only loaded from the rom during the first usage? i don't use it and i don't know if i waste some ram or not.
btw: is it possible to create some .cab files for touchflo and this 3d cube? with that no extra touch roms would be needed and everyone could install them on his neutral windows mobile 6 rom, which flashed on this device.
2. in the past we could unlock the extended rom and use it as a normal storage memory. is there any way in windows mobile 6 to use it like that?

Yes to all questions
1. The cube is loaded one into the memory and stays there
It's possible to make cab files but that will slow donw to os
2. yes you can open the extrom and use it as storrage
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"Bootphase"=dword:2
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\MSFlash]
"Folder"="Flash Disk"
"MountAsROM"=dword:1
"MountHidden"=dword:0
"Name"="FLASH Disk Block Device"
"PartitionDriver"="mspart.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\MSFlash\FATFS]
"MountAsROM"=dword:0
"MountHidden"=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"MountHidden"=dword:0
that should open the ext rom
thank you gullum for your reply.
about the cab files: if these additions are loaded into the ram during the boot, whould it still slow down the device on normal running? afaik the rom is as fast as the normal storage memory.

I'm not shure about that but when these extra apps cab around they were all cab files before we got them coock into the roms and our phones got slowed down to their knees
ok.
and about the extedend rom: it becomes visible, but i can't write anything on it

Revert the Unhide-Rom procedure????

Hi
I did some experiment with upgrading to WM2006 and the unhide/unlock utility to expand memory.
I decided to roll back to my (german) T-Mobile WM2003 installation, but unfortunately, all the ExtRom-features that come included in the original (latest available T-Mobile-version) exe are not installed anymore - I mean: after running the original exe to "downgrade", the additional selfinstalling programs that autoinstall after the first configuration of the screen, are not installed anymore.
Any idea, why (I guess, because of that unhide/unlock procedure)?
Any idea, how I can restore /reset my MDA 2 or these changed memory settings in a way, so that running the original T-Mobile exe behaves like it should and autoinstalls that important software?
Thanks!
revert rom
i've got the same problem, i've unlock and unhide te extrom and run hima-doc tool but it stays that way.
any body help us!!!!!!!!!!!
I am facing the same problem i want my extrom space allocated back to the ext rom and i want my original ext rom to work again...please help
download UNIVERSAL EXTROM UNLOCKER then unhide then unlock, or most probably it is already UNLOCKED and UNHIDE in the first place, just run the HIMA DOC TOOLS - RESTORE, this came with your installation of WM2005 or WM2006 because you used HIMA DOC TOOLS FORMAT to change your EXTROM from 16MB to 30MB, now you need to restore this back to 16MB so your EXTROM will be usable.

Sorry, I can't. I've applied a lot of changes in settings and installed a couple of softwares into my device already...
But it is MWG-like. It can be regarded as an official update from MWG.
You're really the first one!
About the free RAM at startup... I can get over than 24,000 KB at the moment(I had installed a lot softwares). I didn't apply any changes to the cache of file system, which means the cache size is still 2 MB as default.
It's as much as you can get in the latest official WM6 ROM, right?

Like Bajok! says :
HOW TO FLASH THE ROM:
1. You must have at least 70% battery.
2. Use mini-SD card and format it to FAT16 (use only 2GB capacity and below, don't use SDHC card!)
3. Copy AL1.DIO to card.
4. Insert card to memory slot of your device. Press and hold record button (beside the camera button) then push reset button with your stylus. Wait until BOOTLOADER mode appears saying "SD CARD DETECTED", release the record button.
5. Wait 'til it finishes until the O2 logo and splash screen appear. Follow the on screen steps. HAPPY FLASHING!!!
Thanks your ROM is very light, fast and battery usage is very good with this..
I surprised!! solved my problem for years on battery usage problems.
Just had to say thanks, sadly last week my old faithful HTC TYTN died, and i almost cried, and i had to get another PDA.
The one i got was an 02 Atom Life, however the stock rom wouldnt run some of the apps i use and depend apon, and couldnt do some basic stuff like send the USSD to get credit info (*100#), so i tried the official 6.1 update which still didnt run my app, or allow me access to my info, then i tried this Rom.
Everything goes again, (including USSD) ive tried your 6.5's but frankly I prefer this one alot much more, I just wanted you to know I appreciate your effort to the community.
The problem i have it they layout for the 6.5, do you have a 6.5 with the 6.1 Setup? If so i would gladly test it for you.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't understand your last question... I beg your pardon?
Sorry, ill phrase it better,
with your WM6.5 roms i noticed they didnt have the standard start menu, like the WM5.0 / WM6.1, it instead your WM 6.5 has the touchflo type menu.
Is it possible to make a 6.5 rom without the touchflo ?
or can the touchflo be turned off so the old start menu works?

Yes... There're two ways that you could be able to use WM6.1-styled Start Menu, but both are not perfect neither:
1. Use the QuickMenu instead.
2. Recook a WM6.5 with a hexed shell32.exe file(by Sun_Dream in DFT) and other WM6.1 DPI and Lang *.dll files. I have just cooked one and that was under tweaked, but unfortunately my device broke again in the day before yesterday... So I'm afraid that you may have to cook it yourself.
My device is fixed now. I've got the thing you meant done, but themes of WM6.5 or later are not applicable for this ROM. The WM6.5 lockscreen and Titanium are not present as well...
So does anyone want to try that?
hi aa125690, been almost a year but this rom is fine!
I have a problem here =
1. when i flash the rom back to MWG original rom (.exe) through dsuu I can't find "wireless tab" under setting-connection-wifi.
2. same thing happen using original O2 wm5 or wm6 rom. no wireless tab inside.
I thought this was DSUU problem so I did =
3. using modified flash.dio as al1.dio from both original O2 rom (miniSD mode) resulting the same.
4. using modified flash.dio as al1.dio from original mwg rom (miniSD mode) resulting the same.
many hard-resets but they solve nothing. strange thing is = all rom from this xda-developer site (from you, bajok!, chrisch, etc, which are all minisd mode) are free from this problem. do you have any idea?
I just wanted to feel the "old feeling" when the atomlife was still on wm5 just like old time.

Problem with memory in hd2

Hello,
I want to ask about storage memory which one after installing the ardemis radio, no i have total 58,92MB starge emory and free 9,25MB. What wrong with them ? I think that the storage memory is more in HD2 like 28MB :/
Thank for all sugestions.
best regards
malin
Check in bootloader. Your spl MUST be 3.03.0000 or 3.03.hspl for Artemis (or any 3.14) rom, otherwise get memory problems.
Thanks for suggestion, i have 3.03.000 hspl, and artemi rom, now I have 15MB free total storage memeory is 54MB it is normall ?
ph right,. storage memory, not program memory, my mistake. the spl thing doesnt affect storage memory.
See attachment for what my HD2 shows after installing Artemis v64.0 GER:
There is a marginally difference between your values and mine.
It is most more difference becuse my summary after instalig is 50MB not 500MB, and when I install another one soft have the same siaze of storage memory, it is possible that my memory has been broke ?
thanks for answers
Which radio version are you using?
Have you thought about installing HSPL3.03 and doing a Task29 before flashing Artemis again?
Was HSPL2.08 installed on your HD2? I can rember just after the release of ROM3.14 some users had problems to get rid of HSPL2.08.
Thanks man. I never diot Task29 , after this step now I have normally 184MB free in storage
Big tnx again
If you enter bootloader, can you see
PB81100 SS-BC or
PB81100 HX-BC?
Just out of curiosity.
I have PB81100 SS-BC
That's what I've excpected, according to posts of other users with similar problems.
SS stands for Samsung memory chipset.
HX stands for Hynix memory chipset.
So, in next time when i want to change my os, what I have to look, for SS or HX ?
malin
That's got nothing to do with the OS you want to install, but with the used hardware of the HD2.
There is nothing you can change or look for, except you want to buy a new HD2.

There IS something to do. As I wrote long ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11070430#post11070430 - it's useful to follow the proposed flashing sequence. I flash my phone sometimes tree-five times per day (Samsung chipset) and have absolutely no problems with memory amount. Bad clusters (if exist) are excluded while Task 29.

[Q] keep flashing in HTC green logo

my HTC HD2 keep flashing on HTC green logo here's the thing i did before this happened:
1) after having hanged most of the time because of having full internal memory (holding power button "HARD RESET")
2) holding power button and enter into the 1-10 options i dont know what you guys call them but there is a 1-10 option and what i did was do the factory reset and ask me to wipe all the files and hit ok, and some running deleting and i dont know what to call them then it reboot then suddenly it just keep restarting on HTC green logo.
i actually go to the other shop that they said they can repair this kind of problem and i watch them on their computer they just keep searching and posting on the other site asking for help so i said to the technician, we're wasting both our time waiting for your help in the other sites so ask them can you give me back my phone pls. and here i am found the XDA forum so decided to register and look for your genius help i know you guys are pro when it comes to this kind of problem can someone help me pls this phone is all i got, got no money to buy another phone this is like a treasure to me since i dont have a job,
PLS PLS PLS help with this some say i need to reflash? i dont know how or what should i do.
Thanks in advance guys.
any comments is highly appreciated!
info
additional info
using android 2.3
T-Mobile
i read some forums that should i back up first before doing the factory reset using the 1-10 option i somehow factory reset without having a back up of it i thought its just ordinary factory reset
someone help me pls
i will give you any information that you needed in my HTC as long as you help me how to do it im totally noob.
I think you have a nand rom if so tr doing a clean install.
1. Flash a stock WM6.5 rom
2. Flash magldr (which i think u have) or BlackCLK (I personally prefer this for android on NAND and if not dualbooting)
3. Find a cool rom in the NAND section, Flash it and enjoy.
Let me know if you need more info.

THanks for your very helpful reply sorry for being noob what is stock WM6.5? magldr or BlackCLK? cool rom? I think you have a nand rom if so tr doing a clean install? what is TR? help me pls i need a step by step guide? i really appreciate your reply this means to me thanks.
Before you start READ THIS. The default os the HD2 comes with is known as Windows mobile 6.5. The developers at XDA have managed to make android work on this device using special secondary bootloaders which need to be flashed(installed) on the HD2.
There are two of them, one is MAGLDR made by cotulla which is the one you have i think (the numbers with options when it starts) the other is CLK which is open source. These bootloaders allow you to boot an Android rom (the os).
Before we start download and install Windows mobile device center on your PC. Once done follow the steps.
Step1 - WINDOWS MOBILE
a. First we are going to put the HD2's default os WM6.5 (THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING) Download this
b. Turn off your phone, hold the volume down and power button until it shows a screen with three colors (Bootloader).
c. Connect your phone to the PC (Where it says SERIAL on your phone it should change to USB) and run the file you downloaded in "a" and follow the instructions it says.
d. The phone will reboot after the process and boot the os.
Step 2 - secondary Bootloaders
Just to be sure before you start this go in to the tricolored screen It should say 2.08HSPL somewhere if it doesn't DO NOT continue. If it does continue on.
This where you have 2 options one is MAGLDR and the other is CLK (I prefer BlackCLK since you can easily congfiure it to modify the sizes of system and data without a PC). If you'd like magldr try this video it should help
BlackCLK - Download
a. Format an SD card and copy the LEOIMG.nbh from the zip to SD.
b. Put it in the HD2 and boot into the tri colored screen.
c. It should say something to flash it, follow what it says.
d. Once done reboot. it'll say something cannot be found and go to a menu. if your reach it YAY. Volume keys to move and green key to select
Since you have t-mobile you have enough storage space unlike european hd2
so we'll skip dataonEXT (basically moves data to a secondary partition on your sd) if you want it let me know.
INSTALLING android
a. Find a nice rom (os) in the android nand section since you were on 2.3 you can continue with it or try 4.2 (jellybean) rom Good fast roms are pixelfreaks, nexushd2(from tytung) or most of the older 2.3 roms.
b.1 Once you find one you like download it and copy it (the .zip file) to your sd and put it in your hd2.
b.2. Each rom has size requirements for system and cache (it says it on the thread for the rom).
c. GO to settings ---> resize partition set system and cache according to required by the rom save/apply it. go back format nand. then reboot
c. go to recovery, once loaded click install and choose your rom and follow the instructions it says.
d. reboot and you should be good to go.

If you do not have HSPL2.08 (most likely you'll have it since you already had MAGLDR) you should Flash HSPL 2.08
Well not quite sure which rom is the best but, i have tried Pixel freaks AOKP and Slim ROM, they both are 4.2.2 and were pretty good but you'll have to find one which suits you.

PB81120 HX-B3
SPL-2.08. HSPL 8G XE

CotullaHSPL 0x40
so should i start now the process that you told me?
if i do this does it delete the amagldr?

The READ THIS part was for Basic Info.
Yeah your HSPL stuff seems fine
And yes it will remove MAGLDR and in the end youll eventually be using clk (latest one which i put the link for is CLK 1.5.x.) I dont think it'll matter that much since you aren't dual booting (WP7 and android) and have android on NAND(The phone itself). If you want to use MAGLDR over CLK follow the video and Not the CLK part
should i start now?
so should i start now the process that you told me?
i read the some info in clk does it auto configure by default?
"Changed some options under SETTINGS.
Added option to use inbuilt off-mode charging under SETTINGS/SET DEFAULT OFF-MODE CHARGING. From that menu you can select it (option USE INBUILT OFF-MODE CHARGING) and try it out.
If using inbuilt off-mode charging the device wakes up if you press POWER [button].
This is an experimental feature! Only tested with original battery and charger.
High Voltage (as measurement) is set to 4.2 V. Use at your own risk! Otherwise stick to the default way of charging (option USE RECOVERY'S OFF-MODE CHARGING).
Usb detection function changed (option under SETTINGS/ENABLE USB DETECTION). "USB" mark at the bottom of the screen if device connected to pc is replaced by turning led on/off if connected/disconnected.
Added some code as an experiment for a potential off-mode alarm application.
More info in this thread.
Warning : I didn't know java or how to use eclipse and make an android app. Seriously, I still don't. But after some days I managed to write this application mostly because I wanted to know if this idea was possible. So consider it as an example. Any criticism accepted. I just hope that someone may find it useful and make the best out of it."
i dont want to take the risk can you help me configure it to "ALL" default? i know you 're the one who can help me.
<in your previous post what do you mean by this?>
and also d. Once done reboot. it'll say something cannot be found and go to a menu. "if your reach it YAY". Volume keys to move and green key to select? (if i reach it'll say something cannot be found and go to menu? it means i did something bad? or its normal to reach on that scenario?)

INSTALLING android
a. Find a nice rom (os) in the android nand section since you were on 2.3 you can continue with it or try 4.2 (jellybean) rom Good fast roms are pixelfreaks, nexushd2(from tytung) or most of the older 2.3 roms.
b.1 Once you find one you like download it and copy it (the .zip file) to your sd and put it in your hd2.
b.2. Each rom has size requirements for system and cache (it says it on the thread for the rom).
c. GO to settings ---> resize partition set system and cache according to required by the rom save/apply it. go back format nand. then reboot
c. go to recovery, once loaded click install and choose your rom and follow the instructions it says.
d. reboot and you should be good to go.

i just want to ask which folder should i put the LEOIMG.nbh?
what format of sd card? fat32?
what version of clk that i shall download? stable, legacy or experimental?
which one should i download?
Quote:
cLK (source code)
Experimental
Stable
Legacy
Quote:
ppp wrappers (source code)
0.8b4
0.8b5
where do i download the new clk version?
thanks man
The default CLK settings are fine as they are, the only things you will need to change will be the the partition sizes (system and cache depending on the rom).
Put LEOIMG.nbh on the root not in any folders
Sdcard should be formatted FAT32
CLK Experimental (Although its pretty stable). The latest version is the one i have put the BlackCLK download link for.

you mean just copy the LEOIMG.nbh in sd ok, just in the root of the sd what formating tools?
why do i need to change the partition size i read in forum the minimum is 220mb? is ok?
thank you bro
Just regular format the sd through windows fat32.
The Partition size thing is for the PHONE not the SD. Each rom requires different SYSTEM sizes, like for example even though the minimum is 220mb you might want to add more in case you plan on adding stuff to system like GAPPS (Google apps) or any mods.
The reason for this is because even though your phone has 1gb Storage internal you will need to tell it how much each part of it should be used by system, cache (some is used by the recovery) and the remaining will be DATA( where your installed apps go).
When you first put CLK it will have some other system size (150mb i think) set so you'll need to change it.
Sorry forgot this part in the main guide. But if you want to increase you storage you will need to partition your sd card in the recovery before you flash your rom. First partiton -Fat32 and second as partition as EXT4, the size of your EXT4 will be added to your phone and will be counted as internal storage and then while flashing the rom choose with DataonExt. If you dont really care about this just ignore this.
P.S. Ohh in the rom installation IF it asks for PPP or RMNET choose PPP, RMNET is only for MAGLDR.

oh ok thanks for this wonderful info.
you mean it is rooted automatically?
is it ok if im only using 2gb sd?
and what if i want to repartition the sd card anytime?
All hd2 roms are rooted.
2GB for what, DataonExt?(for data one ext to work youll need to have a second ext partition)
well its best to do it before installation and choose that option while installing the rom, if not you can do it after but it sometimes doesnt work with some roms. You can partition the sdcard later ( so with 2 gb youll want to make 1 gb ext and the remaining 1Gb will be your ext or whaterver is left), but then youl have to flash a dataonext zip (the v2).
But its best to do this before hand althought the best option for tmobile hd2's is just nand (without dataonext,, data onext is usually for EU hd2's since they have smaller storages.), also to use dataonext it needs a fast sdcard otherwise it can slightly slow down the rom(cause the apps will be running of the sd).

my phone has only 576mb (t-mobile) do i have to partition my phone also?
sd card 2 gb.
anyway if i use the partition right after i install the rom the 1 gb isa fat32 and the other 1 gb for ext? so my question is the rom will create the ext system file? because windows doesnt have ext.
so do i have to use this partition thing? its kinda complicated like y ou said im using t-mobile can i skip this partition? or it is necessary to install a rom?
additional info for my phone: sim locked, not yet unlock
can you also help me to sim unlock?
thanks man! God bless!
576mb is RAM which both T-mboile and EU hd2's have, the only difference is T-mobile has 1GB ROM/NAND (the storage) while EU has 512mb.
Just wondering you phone does say T-mobile and has a green call key and red end key right???
First off the phone partition thing is different compared to sd. For the phone look at the system size and cache size required for the rom and resize those in CLK.
Second you can skip the SD partitioning its not a highly required especially for t-mobile I just added that as an extra.
Third Try experimenting you'll never get anywhere if you dont try .
And i have no idea about simlock try googling it

my phone it has a green call button to the left and red button to the right but when you turn on the HTC the loading screens are color pink stick together, then it goes to the something says 123456 go go go, then go to HTC queitly brilliant, htc green logo, (in my case it hangs in green logo) lets continue color pink Beats logo, then htc green logo then the regular home screen.
my phone has a t-mobile in front of the face plate near the small speaker when you make a call.
can i skip the dataonext? its kinda complicated
and one more thing after i install the stock rom will the HSPL 2.08 will be deleted?
Thank you very much! God bless!
ps. my internal storage is 500+ only not 1 gb, i dont know if its just locked but im pretty sure my internal memory 569 to be exact i dont know why.
Thanks. God bless!
