You MUST try this game...
It's a demo, free download from the Market: AngryBots 3D
It uses the Unity engine, and not only is it a really cool game, the 3D effects are AWESOME... Best I've seen so far!
Graphics are well done.
The 3D isn't the best I've seen but it does look good.
Performance is acceptable. It doesn't lag or chop around like some gameloft games in 3D.
The game does seem like it could be fun if the controls weren't nearly broken.. they are so bad it makes the game unplayable. :-(

Looks okay. Controls are a little odd. I would have preferred an FPS or 3PS point of view with those controls. Not good enough for me to be anything but a 3D demo.

I finally downloaded the 184MB on my wifi to play Spider-Man in 3D and I must say it was pretty sweet. Has anyone purchased the game, or any other games? Are they worth it/enjoyable?
I got the golf one.
I bought NOVA. The 3D intensity can be adjusted, which is neat. It's more for show that I bought it than for entertainment.

It's just a trial. You get one level. And before you can play you must download additional files (184MB worth!). It was kinda fun though. might have to buy this one.
Ah, I didn't realize it was just a demo, I only had it on for a few minutes, thanks for the info!

Is Nova a fun game?
is the 3d eefect really that good -- just viewing some youtube videos but cannot get an idea of how it looks in 3d
The 3d effect is very good. There is an obvious difference in quality based upon level of effort. Our displays can show 3d in great quality, but the item being displayed has to be designed to do so.
At first I was against the whole "3D" part of the phone but the 3D games look amazing! I'm really impressed. I wish every game were 3D. I want to play pacman in 3D now! But that spiderman was the best looking game I've seen on a phone so far. Really cool.
The spiderman is ok in 3D. I've already beat that game on my thunderbolt so wasn't too impressed. How about the others? Nova, asphault, GT racing, assassin's creed, let's golf 3D? Have any of these just amaze you with the 3D effects? I have nova 2 and asphault 6 in 2D. Finding it hard to go buy it all again just for 3D that's subpar

I grabbed Asphalt and I have mixed feelings. It's a decent game and all that, but the frame rate is poor with the 3d effects turned on. That's really disappointing. I mean, the Adreno 220 is supposed to be boss and these games were made, er, hastily patched specifically for the Evo 3D. I guess it is rendering two scenes at 960x540, but I'm still feeling a little let down. In 2d mode it's smooth as butter and it seems to have decent replay value.
I'm not a big fan of Gameloft's offerings, tbh. They seem to cut corners and don't put out a polished product.
I would much rather a QHD optimized game with a high fps instead of a choppy 3D one. The effect's cool but definitely not worth the loss of a playable speed in games. We have a kickass processor and gpu, put it to use where it can help.
@spock, I dont think the 3D games run at 960x540, probably half that, just like the 3DS does with 3D games.

N.O.V.A. 3D is tha shiznit, loved it in 2d on my old EVO 4G, even sweeter in 3D! I'm curious about Asphalt vs GT... I had Asphalt 5 on my EVO 4G and loved the arcade-y feel (Burnout ftmfw!), but the GT Racing game looks soooo much cleaner on the YouTube videos. Anybody tried GT Racing? Thoughts?

nova in 3d is kind of hard for me to play i guess because just trying to do the controls moves the phone a bit and can move the effect around.
and when i tried nova 2 it seemed much smoother either because the game is just better or because its in 2d.
lets golf 2 is great in 3d though i really like it

Might wanna try one for urself... The 3D experience varies depending on what u like. Same with the games.

i still dont have it and i im in europe and waiting for it to be released and i have to sell first my iphone 4 wich for games is the best phone ever but funcionality is the bigest crap ever! still thinkig wich to pick GS2 or E3D
The games pretty much suck, but pictures and videos are very impressive. Especially the ones I have taken with the phone. The 3D effect is 10x better then the DS and any other glasses free display I have seen thus far. I think the poor 3D effect in the games will only improve over time.

I personally think the games look great. Maybe the 3D effect is not as good as the pictures and video but the overall graphics are really good for a phone. Some of the best looking phone games I've ever seen.

Any feedback on how it looks?. Regular NOVA2 looks good!. I find it hard to believe that they could maintain its already stellar look in 3D. Probably had to drop some details.
EDIT: Downloading now. Will report back. Wish they let us transfer savegames. :-\
Update: The 3D effect is very disappointing. The Hudson pops out. But not really anything else. There isn't a lot of depth either. Just all around pathetic 3D effect. The game also runs terribly while in 3D. Worse performance of any 3d game I've played. And I'm overclocked. Turning off 3D for this one is a better experience all around. What a Rip off.
lol that sounds very dissapointing. I dont have the game yet but for me it looks like it was very similar to nova 3d 1. nova 3d 1 runs very well on my phone so there might be some things they updated that making it harder to run nice.
I have installed the game and your right. The game lags sometimes a bit and the 3d is not very spectacular. Dont think I will finish this game. Glad I still have enough other 3dgames to play
Are there any games or apps that use the 3d display? I know the phone comes with two, but I was looking to see if there were any on the market and they were all 3d words rendered in 2d. I was looking for some cool games or apps that use the 3d display. any suggestions?

Gameloft is what your looking for, not very many out yet, having the 3d technology is a blessing and a curse, not very many 3d phones out there using the same stuff we got.
Best bet is to hit up their website. I've tried a few, spiderman seems to use the 3d graphics the best imo..
Oh before you get flamed... The search button is a wonderful tool. There is a thread about the 3d games somewhere, saw it awhile back...
