can not synch

I installed 2005, and couldn't sych at all by AS4, everytime it tried to connect, i said looking for changes and then a protection fault, so I downgraded to wm2003se and active sych couldnt connect, I reinstalled AS 3.7 and then 3.8, but it can not run at all it just starts connecting, then stops and I can not show Activesynch window, it can not even explore the device
does anybody have a solution for this, or do I have to format and reinstall windows
yo medman
personally i think it was a bad mistake to upgrade to W2005. cause its still in the development phase and u wont find a lot of help from us users cause most of us are still waiting for a stable version to come out
looking at u'r situation
hard reset u'r PPC, do not connect u'r USB.....now install 3.8 MSYNC....... restrt u'r computer.....n then once rebooted......connect the USB cradle with u'r comp and put in u'r PPC...
it shld work now..
best of luck
sync problem...solved!
hey medman,
i don't see why every one is dissing wm2005, its a great rom!
but for the people who are having problems with connecting their device with wm2005 to ActiveSync 4.0 i figured out what is wrong:
if you connected your device to your computer before you installed the new
ActiveSync, it set your device with no driver, and even if you have the
ActiveSync driver now you computer allready recognised your device, so:
the solution is to delete the device setting under device manager of your
computer [start->control panel->system->hardware->device manager]
now with device manager open and with you ppc not connected:
go to the view tab and check "show hidden devices"
then look for the driver of the ppc most likely under the "Non-Plug and Play
Drivers" but if it is not there look around for the driver
when you find it, you went to delete it by right-clicking on the driver and
clicking uninstall
after you delete the old driver have ActiveSync running and place your ppc in the cradle, and the new driver should be installed by ActiveSync 4.0
if you need activesync 4.0 just tell me and i can give you my sight that i uploded as4.0 and wm2005 in a rar file, by the way...most answers are being found on this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18584&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
re:
To rooschool: I did what u suggested but same...
To Destroyer7337:
I didn't connect the ppc before the active sych, I raid this topic before I tried wm2005, I took all the precautions u mentioned, but to no avail, any way I downgraded to 2003se bu I cannot synch with all versions of activesynch
Driver?
What is the name of the driver? I can't find anything in non plug and play and I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

Newbie needs help with adb

Hi.
I'm trying to make some custom native software for android but I need some help getting started.
What I have done so far is getting a HTC Hero, GSM version.
Flashed a custom rooted ROM. update-hero-generic-2.73.405.38-rooted-signed.zip
Installed the sdk and ndk on Windows.
Downloaded and built the open source android project in a VMWare ubuntu image.
What I'm trying to do now is to get ADB talking to my Hero.
I have USB debugging on in the applications->development menu on in the Hero.
When I attach the phone to my XP PC it detects it and asks for drivers, I point it to drivers in android-sdk-windows\usb_driver, windows won't load them because they do not match the hardware.
I can install the driver manually but eventhough the device manager lists it as working (android phone with android composite ADB interface) adb cant find it.
adb devices just give me an empty list.
I tried this on a Windows 7 box and it seemed to work there, is there something special I need to do to get it working on XP?
Installing HTC Sync (drivers included) should resolve.
Thanks!
I actualy tried that before posting but it did not seem to work.
I now tried it again and this time I manually installed the driver in the HTC directory and now it works.

Is there anyone who can use touchxperience?

Is there anybody there who can install and use touchxperience on his device or is it only a myth? I am using surround WP 7.5, OS 7.10.8107.79 (Ansar's newtech ROM, I also tried DFT and Intrinsic ROMs). I am also a registered user for touchxperience, finally I gave up trying different ROMs to install this program.
TouchExperience gets installed automatically when you use Windows Phone Device Manager
I know it installs it but it does not work
Its main purpose is to allow WP Device Manager to connect with the phone. All its features are available otherwise too, what are you interested in?

FIX! Win 2k3 Drivers for HTC Sync and One Max!

Greets All,
I didnt know if this was on here, or if anyone had figured it out, but I couldnt get the HTC Sync program to install drivers into Windows 2003 server, so after about 2 hours I finally figured a way to get it installed. But I ran into another issue: I couldnt get the One Max to be recognized by the HTC Sync Manager to sync the phone, after hours of trying, I finally figured it out and thought I would share my findings for anyone else that might be having a issue:
1) Getting drivers for windows 2003 server
2) Getting the HTC Sync Manager to work correctly with Windows 2003 Server (Possibly a XP issue as well)
First, attached to the bottom of this post is the drivers extracted for windows 2003 to recognize the HTC One Max.
Connect the phone to the computer, it will then ask you for the CDC serial driver, Dont choose to let it find it online, then pick the first radio button and then point to the directory of the drivers from here, and then it will prompt you for you for a ".sys" driver, again point it to this folder. It will then or should find the MTP driver and should install without your help. Then you can install the HTC Sync Manager.
Once its installed, you will find that it wont find your phone and connect to it, I waited and waited nothing. What you need to do is below:
After installing HTC Sync Manager, the driver that needs to be installed will be located in the folder attached here.
Go into Device Manager and find your device under "Imaging Devices -> Digital Still Camera", or "Imaging Device -> HTC One Max", or under "Portable Devices -> HTC One X/S".
Go to update that driver, and do a force update where you pick the driver (bottom selection), if you choose for it to find it, it wont. Choose the folder you downloaded from here and point it. XP's own MTP driver doesnt work with the One Max, but the HTC MTP driver does!
Once installed it will change locations to Portable Devices and under it, it will say HTC One Max (Driver version should be: 1.0.0.15, Date: 10/18/2013).
Then connect your phone and you should be connect almost instantly!
I can now both use HTC Sync Manager, and browse the filesystem through My Computer.
Hope this helps you guys out!
I cant believe I am the only one that this helped. I thanked it when you first posted because I knew it would come in handy at some point. Unfortunately I didnt think about it and spent a good couple of hours myself before I found it searching again. Windows xp does not like this phone straight out of the box. Thanks again!
504 views, and 105 downloads, its helped more then people have let on, but over the years I've learned somestimes you get replies, sometimes you get eggs. The main thing is its helped at least 105 people.
And yet just 2 ppl wanted to click the Thanks button :/

Windows 10 won't recognize Andoid phone

I have an Android phone (SO-05D)
I installed both ADB drivers and Sony's driver for the phone.
However the computer (Windows 10) doesn't recognize the phone; it doesn't show up in Explorer.
There are warnings in Device Manager, as seen in the attached screenshot.
I tried to reinstall but same thing happens.
Where could the problem be...?
Any hints appreciated.
