as i've seen in the API changelog, its a long way to get all things work again.
a lot of changes in hardware code, lot of changes in UI code ... this means we have
to create a lot of workarounds again for our P500 device
and, the big question is:
can we use the user space drivers from gingerbread as we was doing this in ginger when porting from froyo??? questions over questions ...

as far as i am, im getting the sdk to work with gsm etc, but now its for armv7, so i need to fix that (after that it will be easier)

working together isnt possible: when CM8 (maybe this is the version name) is out,
most users want the CM version and not the very simple AOSP version, so its as ever ... 2-3 compiled roms from source code, 125 modified / themed roms

its told it will be CM9 as CM8 were HC but as their never got it they jumping to CM9 and skips CM8 although i wouldn't like that

Well, if discounting you, that means it is discounting dax, boykioy, ginco, matteof and others who just created "themed" roms.
Franco is a university student btw
Later Franco will help me to develop THE ultimate rom, compatible for some more devices
than only P500 ... i hope btw ^^

I was wondering if it was possible to port the MIUI Rom from the Galaxy S to the Galaxy Ace?
Are certain minimal hardware specs for a good performing MIUI Rom or is could it run nice on a Galaxy Ace?

dude we got one ...thats a big deal i thought it was waste buying this phone..
Now as CM7.1 is being develop, i hope it is fully functional soon and then someone may port the MIUI for SGA. So people keep the fingers crossed.

Well jusada you have to take a look into this mattervery soon as BehradGH is working pretty fast and hope we can have asop soon.
porting miui wont be the same as compiling cm or aosp as its closed source. need to decompile and recompile everything one by one. moreover originally its only for armv7 with hdpi, will be tedious job to port to ace which is armv6 and mdpi
Anyways , if it's AOSP you want then it's AOSP you'll get

No, its going to be alot harder. But the new kernel is the first step. Im gathering information as we speek about the porting. I believe miui has been ported to other armv6 mdpi devices so thats probably my first port of call. But im not expecting anything to happen soon. I'm really new to this and am fumbling around in the dark a little. But i'll do what i can.

The current boot.img that we are using doesn't boot (after changing a significant amount of files) , so maybe we might need to use a different kernel .

I see, i know you can use aosp kernal for cm and miui. But i wasnt sure if it worked vise-versa, plainly it doesnt. To be fair, of what i can find out there is no true miui port to mdpi anyway, greenmods came closest with the galaxy 3 and even that isnt a real port. If anyone can correct me on that i would be greatful.

I tried CF-ROOT , CM7 Kernels......even the boot.img that came with the installation....all failed to boot .

Only thing, please keep it like Void has always been - clean, without lot of crap what other rom's like CyanogenMod (no offence mik' you are doing great job porting it, but I prefer use my own version of your CM without crap load of apps.)
I want to see it simple, so I can add my own apps after installing rom. Also no themes, if I want them, I'll add themechooser with addon package.
Just try to keep that rom simple and fast.
I know nothing about developing roms on android as i recently purchased a O1 but i do have skills in developing on blackberry. I can theme too. Dont add me on the list but i'd be glad to help out with theming.

Looks promising, only thing I shun from is having that new baseband, ive never flashed baseband but other than that it looks very promising. I once had a g1 and loved it, took a while for sense UI to be ported to that device and would love to see it ported to our optimus devices. Good luck, I see it uses a custom recovery called xrecovery or something to that extent, ive only used amonra or clockworkmod, would flashing this port be compatiable w/ amonra/clockworkmod

Firstly, i need to know before i build this cm7 and make it as GingerDX... He use orignally Hero CM7 Nightlies... I cant follow him... Because i know that LG has many ****ty stuff, and i dont have linux with me... So i may need help... I will setup a poll...

by any time - so every new version is a update/bugfix or upgrade.

well it cannot be cm8,coz honeycomb source didnt get released,so this will be cm9

even if it did come to us, would you flash it? im sure that any custom made rom (in this case cm9) is always better than its stock version.

Yes, I will flash it in the day it comes, the official version for Optimus One, unfortunately, will come after half a year, like GB did(Romania was 1st), but this may never come... So I am surely flashing CM9, but mik must do it.

i too am waiting for the day when cm9 is ported onto our phone
and why only mik? im am not doubting his developing but if all of our developers come together, im sure the process will be much faster
i think the following developers would make the dream team: mik, andy, ciaox working on porting ics, and franco working on the kernel.

Why do they have to? You say it like they're paid to make roms for us. Keep in mind that this is all voluntary and thay they have their own lives too.

that guy banned and project closed not rom good
want updates???i'm trying to revert a cyanogen patch that eclude hwacceleration for armv6 and adreno200!(they have merged code from a guy called ninja also htc desire and nexus one have problems with these)....i have found a old framework base and applied my patch...the only problem is that this frameworks was programmed by a dumb and there are a lot of <<<<<<<HEAD......========= >>>>>>> tags in code and i'm cleaning this(i know how to avoid this and i'm a really dumb with git)...i've done this for three days hope that i'll restore hwacceleration!...if you go on my github i've uploaded my sources!i'm trying guys....but ics it is really a big beast!

The big hurdle is 3D Acceleration and Camera...
BTW, you have an already compiled libsurfaceflinger.so in proprietary files... is it needed...??

CM9 from ZTE Blade has a patched surfaceflinger for which there is no source available... hence we use an already compiled surfaceflinger to get it work... hopefully once CM9 nightlies start rolling out, there might be some solution...
