[Q] Just installed CM7 (stable 6.5.8) on Optimus T, now what? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
Most things seem to work but a few questions:
Flashed gapps to get Gmail, etc. Gmail works on phone, but is not auto syncing or updating. Only works if I do a manual refresh. Is this fixable?
I am seeing all the tools to tweak UI interface, but I thought there would be more. Specifically, I want to change items in the Status bar - text color, transparency, different icons, battery meter, etc. Is there an easy way to change these? I was using tweaks I made on UOT kitchen on my rooted stock Froyo 2.2.2. rom and this worked fine.
Wifi and 3G are working but 3G signal seems weaker now. In a place where I got 5 bars, I now get only 2 or 3. Also, wifi was connecting but then cutting out until I changed channel settings on my Netgear router from “auto” to channel 11. Is this normal?
DSP app crashes, FC’s.

I have the same phone here in the USA to change status bar and icons you need to download more themes and use the theme chooser app auto updates and sinc works for you may need to flash make sure you wipe data factoru reset before you do that the bars dont worry about if anything use the cyanogenmod setting toggle the 3g in your status bar and make it 3g only the bars will be low but the signal is fine if not better from stock ROM not sure about your wifi sounds like a router problem

Do a clean install and start from scratch.

check out ultimate online theme kitchen.... you can mod till your hearts content, and never have to unpack repack a framework

Read the OP & you would know..

- Juiced the hell out of the speed - its really smooth and really fast
- Battery should be bettery
- GPS should be spot on, fast and accurate

What are the advantages? Well lets say daily or every other day bug fixes that Samsung might note, but takes months to actually address.
How about wireless tethering for starters?
Multiple lock screens, black notification bar, black swype, black theme, root, stable kernel +lagfix of your choice, full ji6 update fix except swype voice button, removed bloatware from tmo, you still keep your avatar drm but you will lose the sims game, includes rom manager and an im program. The biggest factor is the speed, battery life and stability. Its really a basic build but more optimized for our phones. Also includes wifi internet sharing so you could connect your phone to a laptop and give it 3g internet access.

Nice post, thx for providing a clear answer to OP's question!

[Q] CM7 questions

Hi,
Today I ahve installed CM7 the first time on my Atrix (last weeky build). This is a great ROM, highly customizible. Though I'm back to the darkside, I will definitly switch to CM7 in the future. I was toying with CM7 for 1 hour and I have some questions:
1) Is there any way to show network type icon in the status bar (G/E/3G/H) when wifi is on?
2) Is there a theme that exactly copies Atrix motoblur interface?
3) How to add vibration on fingerprint unlock?
4) Is the battery life better in comparison with the stock 2.3.4 rom?
5) Could a single notification be removed like it could be removed in motoblur by pressing a minus sign on it?
Thanks!

1)don't think so. Maybe a mod?
2)there are over 300 themes and there is a Moto one as well as Samsung and HTC.
3)not sure about this one either
4)I think battery life is better for me cause all the Moto bloat is gone so I'm just running what I want. And alot of the 3rd party apps I would have to get on stock are included into cm7 suck as torch and scrwenshots .
5)Notification can be cleared singly by swyping them.(though I find it a but difficult sometimes)
I hope I helped u some
Thanks AtriXDA Developers!!!
Thanks! More questions:
1) There was no AGPS option in "Location & Security" settings, how to enable AGPS?
2) There were no transition animations on the stock CM7 theme. How to enable them? Do CM themes contain transition animations?

[KANG][ROM] CM7.2 by Photon Dev team 4-23-2012

Well, here is my build based on Cybik's work and my LG optimus S builds (thekraven). I'll try to do weekly builds depending on what cm7 gets pushed and bugs that get fixed.
See here for CM7 menu explanations, thanks to Jerryscript http://blogs4android.com/2011/06/rooting/cm7-settings-for-phones-explaination/
1-20-2012 build.
Latest CM7.2 sync as of 1/15
Currently using Cybik's kernel and modules. Will update to Joker's in future builds.
Shouldn't ask for a sliding keyboard, but test.
T9 dialer
Ringlock style option: holo and revamped
ICS roboto font and clock font
ICS transition animations
Bootanimation changer
Disable boot animation
Swap volume keys by rotation.. set to 90* when in landscape
silent volume key beeps
Carrier label modding, choose custom text to change.
Lots of theming mods by Jerryscript
NOte: most will take effect after a reboot.
NOte 2: for a semi transparent status bar, choose a color and make the alpha level about midway.
Status bar color mods, transparency, alpha levels.
Center clock options and colors, YOU must first change this to another color the first time, it's defaults to black.
Notification backdrop modding. Still working out bugs from adopting from mdpi. But color changes and alpha work.
*1-22-2012 build
*fixes torch, tethering, auto brightness, network name, and camera button. Thanks Joker.
* a few notes:
* Remember to change the color of the clock to see it. It's defaulted to black.
* Hint: if you don't like the full transparent bar, some app's top bar color will overtake the status bar icon colors, pick a color and move the alpha bar midway to keep some transparency. Black works well like that.
* New CM T9 dialer . May make some themes incompatible with the new dialer, check with the themer. (Contacts.apk).
* ADB over network. It is turned off by default and to turn on go to settings > applications > development: check "adb over network" . Then go to setting > wireless> wifi settings > click menu button then press "advanced". Take note of your IP address and open a command prompt on your computer. Enter inside the quotes "adb connect <phone Ip address>:5555" For example "adb connect 192.168.1.123:5555" then enter.

* To get the external Sdcard recognized in apps. See post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22039591&postcount=318
* If coming from other CM7 builds.... I installed over Cybik's last build with a wiped cache and formatted system. And flashed gapps
Working:
Most everything, , hdmi mirroring
GPS
Calls work fine on Sprint.
MMS works fine on Sprint.
no webtop, fm only via spiritfm app
Test other networks, it should be the same as I used Cybik's Ril mods.
Known issues.
2-10 build j . Wifi holds onto the network fine, but when going out of range and switches 3g and connecting to another wifi connection it doesn't connect automatically. toggling airplane or wifi on/off reconnects. I'll keep working on the init.sunfire.rc
2-10 build g
bootanimation chooser broken, can preview but not choose. Forgot to compile it. copy to /system/app and set permissions for cmbootanimation.apk http://www.mediafire.com/?2ke1qbd37cw6khk
wifi disconnects on me, but could be my router. Airplane mode fixes it. I'll watch logs
1-30 build
Camcorder fc after first use, temp fix is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22068642&postcount=347
ADB over wifi not working
Dial tone echoes, turn off audible touchtone sounds in Settings/sound.
1-26 build
ADB over wifi not working
ICS rotations seem a bit buggy and causes random adw fc when rotating the screen, there is a new commit today that might help.
Disable lockscreen in tablet tweaks causes fc. Did it work in previous builds?
Looks like hdmi mirroring is not working
1-22 build:
Mute camera focus sound.
No torch in the notification drop down,
wifi disconnects on it's own reported.
car dock not working, seems to be blur related, but will look at atrix fixes
flashing a kernel probably will break wireless adb , should be fixed in the next release.
CM autobrightness custom levels > edit other levels fc.
1-20 build.
Network unknown in pull down, I'll try to track that down.
Autobrightness, will fix in the next build.
Camera button not taking pics, for now map it to volume or power buttons in camera advanced settings
Tethering menu in settings missing.
Torch fc, will fix in next build.
ADB wireless not working yet, i need to add something to the init.sunfire.rc
So give it a try and test. Thanks.

Looks good so far. Autobrightness isn't working as noted. Camera seems fine. Transisitons are a nice feature.
I nandroided, wiped cache, flashed your version, and flashed jokers 1.3. Seems good so far. Thanks!!!!
Edit. Noticed that the carrier indicator says roaming indicator off instead of sprint. Tryied changing to other settings and it still says that. Even after reboots. Was able to change the carrier indicator to custom message with no issue. No big deal really. Just being picky

Thanks, I'll remember to fix the Torch. I see the commit that fixes it.
I think wifi tethering is missing. I still have the widget left over on my main screen but the setting gs are gone in CM7 settings. Logcat shows that softap is initializing and I can see the softap. I can not pull an IP on the client devices. There is also no notification that the hotspot is active.
Confirmed that it is not pulling IP address from hotspot host. It does still radiate the AP though.

[ROM][AOKP][PORT] AOKP for the DX2 and the MX2 [8/4/12]

AOKP - Milestone 6 for the DX2/MX2
This is a port of the milestone 6 AOKP build available for the Atrix 4G (made by Th3Bill), using DzK's CM9 Alpha 5 as a base. From my testing on my MX2 it would appear that it is about as stable as DzK's CM9. There is a build for the MX2 that has DzK's wifi patch integrated and the kernel check removed, and there is a build for the DX2 that has the kernel check and no wifi patch. I take no credit for any of this, all I did was port it over and add a 1% Battery Mod (sort of)
What Works:
-Data/3G
-WiFi
-SMS/MMS***
-Camera*
-Phone/Email/Contacts/etc.
-Bluetooth
-Data Usage
-AOKP ROM Control
-1% Battery Mod**
-All that other important stuff
*Camcorder does not record video, it opens, it zooms, but it doesn't record.
**1% Battery Mod is on the status bar only, lockscreen will still show increments of 10%
***See the end
Issues:
-On first boot homescreen glitches out after set-up. Fixed by hitting okay to all of the “hints” that pop up, then changing the wallpaper.
-Rare random reboots.
-4G section in settings crashes the settings app since we don’t actually have 4G.
-Assumably any issues with CM9 Alpha 5 will still show up here.
-If you find anything else let me know.
Same rules that apply for flashing CM9 Alpha 5 apply here. So, you can flash over CM7/CM9 or Blur but always wipe /data and /cache, I recommend wiping /system as well. TiBU app restores for system apps are still a no go.
Download page
Download ICS GApps
Instructions:
1. Boot into recovery.
2. Nandroid.
3. Wipe Data/Factory Reset. Wipe Cache. Format System. Wipe Dalvik cache.
4. Flash ROM.
5. Flash GApps.
6. Wipe Dalvik cache and fix permissions.
7. Reboot.
8. If boot hangs on the big “M” do a battery pull and start it up again. It might take a few tries.
9. After a few minutes Set-up will load.
10. Follow the prompts until you get to the homescreen.
11. There will be three hints that pop up while your homescreen is glitching. Just tap the okay button on the first one, open your app drawer for the second, and tap okay again for the third.
12. Long-press on the homescreen and change your wallpaper to get it to stop glitching.
13. If you want any of the apps I removed back, download Removed-apps (NOT flashable).zip from the above zip and unarchive and push the apps you want to /system/app/ then set permissions to match the rest (0644 for those of you using chmod in terminal).
14. Enjoy.

3. Place the "APN settings shortcut" widget on your homescreen and tap it.
4. Change the current APN settings to the correct ones by tapping on the first available set of settings in the first menu and changing each field as necessary according to the settings you found in your Google search.

so I don't mean to be totally ignorant, but what's the difference between CM9 Alpha 5 and this? Right now I've got CM9 running on my phone.

Finally a transparent status bar. This rom is pretty awesome. Great work.

Mainly more customization through the rom control setting. UI, colors, built in nav bar, etc... to many to list.

Well, I am having issues with cell phone service now.
I noticed that the signal status was always grey instead of blue. I still had data though. I restarted the phone to see if it would connect to the network.
Then I had no service. I tried to dial out *228 but got a message saying I could not complete a call when in airplane mode. I went to settings and airplane mode was not on. I toggled it on, then off, but the phone stayed in airplane mode and I had to restart.
Also the battery indicator is not accurate for me. It stays on one percentage for awhile, then a drastic drop.
I will have to go back to Cm9 for now. Does anyone else have any issues with signal?
Brandon, can you at least do the Go SMS workaround?

Then I had no service. I tried to dial out *228 but got a message saying I could not complete a call when in airplane mode. I went to settings and airplane mode was not on. I toggled it on, then off, but the phone stayed in airplane mode and I had to restart.
Also the battery indicator is not accurate for me. It stays on one percentage for awhile, then a drastic drop.
I will have to go back to Cm9 for now. Does anyone else have any issues with signal?

I haven't noticed any problems with cell signal, it's currently at 1 bar for me, but I'm also sitting in my basement.
As for the battery indicator, I should probably have actually tested that a bit more thoroughly because I may be experiencing the same problem, but I'll wait for my battery meter to drop (I'm currently on a full charge) before I say more.
Okay. That's it. Now I have to dust off the X2. Keep it up guys.
Will be flashing this tomorrow!

what makes you think that?
Yea I was wondering the same thing? If anything id think he'd be supportive. X2 seems to be coming alive a little bit. Not to mention if he gets kexec worked out he will forever be associated with making the x2 great.

[Q] I'm looking for specific roms/ can you help me out here

Ok yesterday I installed about 6 roms we have for the i717 that are somewhat new(4.1.2)
The roms i'm looking for i want them to show the H, H+, 3g like King Kang oct-17 rom. I also prefer the settings layout kinda small and everything on one page, I guess that's ICS's settings layout where it has the Rom settings, Paranoid settings. Right now I'm on the Super stock Oxeded rom(looks the same as stock to me) Although it has the 4g icon but you can't tell if you're on 3g as for me i've been seing 4g icon all day but when I was on King Kang rom it bounces from 3g, H, then stays on H+.....
Here are the roms i've X out as not for me:
1.King Kang. Love the signal icons, love the settings UI. BUT yesterday the lockscreen pin was so buggy, when I would press a button it would input the wrong numbers. So i couldn't get into my phone I had to just install a diff rom, This rom also makes my screen flash, at one point i couldnt make calls or recieve calls(I'm on straight talk, might been a APN issue)
2. Quincyatt oct24-12 rom. Doesn't show any signal icons. other than that it was ok.
3.collective rom. I just didn't like the theme of the rom. I'm not a fan of custom icons and all that other fancy mess of changing names of some settings you are looking for.
4. Black Star rom. doesn't show any signal icons. no paranoid settings. It's a cool black n white settings but everywhere you look you see "BlackStar" it's even in the notification bar.
5. GovCheez rom. Doesn't show the signal icons. I like the setup on this rom.
6.cookie and cream rom. no signal icons. has paranoid settings so that's good. not a fan of the bootup animation either.
To me it seems like you may want to learn how to theme a Rom and make a theme to your liking. That or learn how to make a Rom with the features that you want.
What kind of signal icon u trying to see?

Im currently on Black★STAR ix and i get 3g,H,H+,etc icons for signal. If you would take the time to read the OP and through the thread you would also realize that there are flashable themes for stock and so on. Plus now there is the OTA feature through the settings menu. Just take your time and read and don't forget "search" is our friend

My galaxy note is my best friend
Seems you need a new friend. Really all the post provided to you seem good to go, sounds like you want something cosmetic, there are threads for this type of mod you want to have and or displayed. Sure that is part of the want of a ROM, me I want stability and something that can handle the stress I put my device thru...how it looks well I will take those mentioned over looks any day just me, hope you find what you are looking for, thanks.
