[Q] it is x10 is a good phone??

i really like x10 to be my future phone...it's x10 is a good phone?? what is pro and con of this phone???
first of all, there is no future in the x10, it is a present phone
the pros of this phone is great looks, and one of the best cameras offered in an android device.
however the cons are slow as f**k if u dun do rooting+mods
bootloader locked => custom roms are difficult to made to be fully functional
official update stopped at 2.1-update 1, no froyo or beyond (unless u're planning on custom roms)
yes it is a great phone. except that sony ericsson decided to stop providing software for it. its got great hardware like the one gig snapdragon processor amd 8 mp camera. it gets even better with the higher roms u can get from this site. i love my phone. the only bad thing is the sony ericsson thing. then phone is fast good looking and great. hope this helps

IF getting an up to date OS is very important to you, look elsewhere. The X10 is stuck in 2.1 unless you're willing to flash a custom rom on it and wait for the kinks to get ironed out.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I wouldn't recommend getting it now.. Unless you root you'll be stuck on 2.1 which eventually will not work with many apps and games
last but not least, battery life is too weak (I got 2 spare batteries)
(to all developers, how to modify .sin file provided in official firmware zip) I planning to edit the system.sin to replace system, I'm sure the driver files is inside the system.sin. hope this helps
battery life is fine.. ignore the above post.. poor battery is either caused by wrong expectations of a Smart phone (with a 4" screen) or by bad apps preventing the phone from sleeping..
Battery is very good, i can get to 3-4 Days with alot of use. I surf every day like 30min-1hr and write 20-30 Messages, make like 5-10 Phone Calls like 30min-1hr30 and i look often what Time it is or look fast whats up in XDA or Soccer Games how they played. My old Iphone 3g lasts 1 Day with same use.

I don't believe this at all...
it's x10 have a problem like a x2??
I don't believe it either. The battery isn't bad, but its not this good. I can go a day of normal use making a few short calls, texts incoming and outgoing all day, and watching a few YouTube videos without needing to charge it. I have days of fairly heavy use too, but still need to charge it at the end of the day. It will not last 3 or 4 days with moderate use that's for sure.

You will fall in love whit your x10 when you get an nicee custom rom jit enabled and also rooted of course normally this is a good phone like the 8mp pictures it take greaat shots i can say! Hmm one little thing a few people experienced is a low in call volume else then that 10/10 and by the way i once made 3hours of music non stop and each 5mins texts made 2-3 call and when i got home i had 46% left? You can calibrate the battery tho.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Don't bother, it's already near it's EOL stage, meaning no more support from SE at all. If you still want to purchase a SE phone, let it be Xperia Arc. Otherwise, go for a different Android OS smartphone (if that's what you're aiming).

I get a solid day out of it, but that's all. There is NO way you could get 3-4 days, even if you just left it in standby the whole time. I call bullsh*t for sure
if leave it standby i believe 4 day is possible consider i tried a few times leave standby for about 20 hours only 10% battery gone.
but for my case very heavy use non stop gaming and surf net it's like only 4 or 5 hours the most.

meaningless topic...X10's just a bull****...
I was totally disappointed...
X10 is a brilliant piece of hardware, let down by SE support tho. Am using freex10 2.2 beta 4 and its simply awsome. Turned my x10 into the phone i expected. Lol at 3-4 days on battery tho, even with autokill and light use i might get 36 hours, but thats the same with any large screen smartphone. Froyo rom does seem to ease battery consumption slightly. If buying new, get an android with gingerbread as stock rom or wait 6months for dual core processor.

Just post according to reality. No way batt up to 3-4 days. Mine only last +-1 day.
I don't know if this situation is usual with smart phone. May be... it depends to how smart the phone is. Hohoho....
X10 is good.much better than x2 for sure. However and whatever, I still love x10 and never get bore playing with it. Although there are so many rumor saying about its update. Some good news say,no more OS upgrade but still we will have Android 2.1 update fix. But don't know which is true.

Does your s3 get laggy after a few weeks of no reboot?

Does your s3 get laggy after a few weeks of usage without a reboot or killing any apps in the task manager ? It happened to me today. I tried playing dead trigger and the game was soooo laggy. At first I thought it was due to an update of the game so I decided to stop playing it. When I launched my internet, the site seemed to froze and start lagging too. I checked my ram usage and it was below 600 but I had a lot of apps in the task manager. I then decided to reboot and everything seemed fine after. Is this normal? Should I go to task manager each time and clear it after I use an app?
Try to restart it from time to time, new update on jelly bean will come soon and things will go much faster. You can look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30626647#post30626647

I never tried to dont reboot the device for A FEW WEEKS....
I reboot it every 4-6 Days, because i did it in the past with all my devices and went well with it.
Reboot the device if you see slow downs and you will be fine
yea I have the same but don't think its a 'problem', you have to reboot even your computer every now and then to make it work well.

2 or 3 times a week I use my phone until the battery is flat, then charge it overnight while off. Always helps it. Keeps the battery cells at low percentage alive as well.
My laptop was constantly on charge took it off and it died all the time, as the battery never got used.

Android 4.2.2, did Google finally get it right?

This latest release has me really pleased with my Nexus 10's speed, response, and stability. It appears they got it right for the use of my tablet. :victory: It will be very interesting to see what the priorities and advantages will be going forward with custom ROM and kernel development!

I'm thinking it's not better at this point...my device still powers off when I put it on or take it off a charger....It's my one complaint from an otherwise flawless device.
I used to get random reboots. Now it never reboots!
So 4.2.2 is great on mine.

Yup. I really liked it before, but now with 4.2.2 it seems that this lone issue was finally resolved. I'm going on 61 hours uptime since installing the update, and haven't had a single hiccup. Fast, smooth... Fantastic. Loving it.

do you know for which countries is the 4.2.2 update available? i did not receive any update (Bucharest/Romania). Thanks
They finally fixed the time bug that caused mine to constantly be behind 10 minutes.
My experience is a little mixed. I play a lot of MC4 without any stutters or lag prior to 4.2.2. But now I am getting constant stutters during multiplayer game play. I found myself going back to 4.2.1 to be able to play my MC4. That was the only issue that I encountered while on 4.2.2.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
Since upgrading to 4.2.2, I have not had chrome freeze or the n10 reboot. That's wonderful!!!
I have Battery Monitor Widget Pro running with an alarm set if the battery hits 95d f. Since 4.2.2 I had the alarm go off while charging with the pogo cable and running daydream 'colors' (first time trying daydreams) and again when a 30 minute youtube video playing through hdmi (no charger). The temp went up in less than 5 minutes after the video/animation started. Felt extremely hot around the camera. Never had that happen before, only time the temp went up was after 30 minutes of a graphical game play.
Battery temp is usually around 82, almost never above 90f and certainly not in 5-10 minutes. Gonna keep an eye on it, but it is a new problem for me and related to the video.
After update to 4.2.2 my bettary is bad. :'( on Android 4.2.1 I usually get about 7-8 hours screen on, but on 4.2.2 I get 5-6 hour screen on. But with 4.2.2 my Nexus 10 more fast and smooth

I'm glad 4.2.2 has fixed many of the soft reboot/crashes and things like that but I still feel that the nexus 10 isn't as snappy as it should be. I feel there's still residual lag during transitions and alot of apps don't run well (I think that's more hardware optimization though). The nexus 10 menu's feel a bit slow.
IMO the nexus 4 on stock feels much smoother.
Battery life appears fine and no more random lockups or reboots since the upgrade several days ago....Very happy now!
Thanks for 4.2.2 update. I no longer face hang/auto restart.
Reboots and crashes are gone it seems. Chrome would crash every time I opened it, now it is rock solid. I would also have random reboots at least twice a day. 0 since the update. Bootlog Uptime says 4 days 4 hours.
I still have issues with Wi-Fi though. My University has multiple AP's with the same SSID, and my N10 has issues finding and staying connected to the strongest signal. It will stay connected for maybe 5 minutes, then the Wi-Fi looks like it resets or something. I tried a logcat dump and nothing notable shows anything.

Problem with XBMC is the interface is still sluggish and is a burden to work with. Especially if you setup a samba share and let it import your PC's music and movie collection. XBMC is just way too bloaty for a tablet and is currently the #1 contender in the "How to drain your battery the fastest" department.
Video playback
Hi,
I have flashed the 4.2.2 stock rom and there are some issues, which are not fixed, and some which seem to be new.
- I had one freeze when the tablet was on standby. Only a reboot fixed it and my battery level was about 10% lower as before. Ok, this might be an app, which is misbehaving, I'll monitor it.
- Then I had the first time this time bug, where the time shown is some minutes off sync.
- The worst thing is, that 4.2.2. seems to have broken the video playback in some apps. Playback is stuttering and some frames are dropped. For example in the watchever app, which worked fine in 4.2.1
Google Movies does not seem to be affected.
Anyone else noticing the video playback issue?
Regards,
Goldstein

My brother had the same issue on his Galaxy Tab some time ago... He was running some Cyanogen alpha though and flashing to a newer version resolved the issue. You could investigate whether a fresh flash resolves your issues...
OnTopic: Did not notice much improvement in 4.2.2 (CM10.1) as the device was running without any problems and there was not really something to improve... However benchmarks scores did go up - Antutu went up from ~13500 to ~16500 and Quadrant from 4800 to 4950.

Android 4.3 is draining my battery on standby!

Hi XDA
I literally don't know what to do with my Samsung Galaxy SIII for a bout half a year ago i updated my phone to Android 4.3 and things went a bit weird. First thing I noticed was that the phone was really slow to wake up from standby, sometimes I had to take out the battery because nothing happen. The second thing is that it sometimes get really hot even on standby. I can't make it though half a day without charging my phone! Today it got mad at my phone again and was searching around the web for a solution, I came by lot of forums with people who was dealing with the same problem, but no fix able. I found a guy who had a an app which could register the battery usage in a graph. After running the app i noticed the same as the guy from the video - my phone is pretty normal on use, but then I turn the phone on standby it goes insane (look at the picture linked below)..
I don't know how to deal with the problem. I have gone though the applist to see any remarkable apps, but nothing has cough my attention.
I hope you guy are willing to help me - Save my phone!

Wrong phone forum!!!
Here is your phone forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3
Hi, did you solved your problem?
If not, i'd recommend System Panel app. Download it, install, launch. Then go to Menu->Settings, check Enable monitoring option. Then let your phone to be in idle mode several hours - maybe before going to bed. After it - go to SP->Menu->Monitoring->History (in bottom right corner)->Press chart in top left corner->Top apps. Then you'll see top applications that worked in idle mode.
For more information go to 4pda russian forum and search "Советы по улучшению энергосбережения устройств на Android OS" thread - google translate will helps
Try This,,,,,,
I think some app is malfunctioning , i would suggest using Greenify if u r rooted ,
And if u r on Stock ROM then i would suggest u to delete or disable the BLOATWARE.
It helped me hope this was helpful
4.3 on the S3 is extremely buggy especially without Samsung's patch ( which didn't do much ). There isn't much that you can do on stock Touchwiz, except maybe flash a custom kernel. I would suggest flashing a custom rom, but that is up to you. There are many choices for custom roms here including Touchwiz, if you like it.
I've been experiencing disappointing battery life since the android 4.3 update last month on my non-LTE t-mo galaxy s3. I know there's been a lot of discussion and advice by t-mo reps on various forums, but it simply isn't accurate. The party line is "something you installed on your phone is causing increased battery drain after the 4.3 update." However, my partner and I have two identical T-mo galaxy S3's. We have entirely different sets of apps installed on our phones. As soon as we installed the 4.3 update, both of our phones started to drain rapidly faster than before the update. On 4.2 our phones would last to 50% by the end of the day (~8pm) with light to moderate use. Now they're at ~20% by the end of the day, and I can see my battery levels drop faster just while using the phone. This is totally unacceptable. I've downloaded battery monitoring apps, and no apps I've installed are draining the battery, it's the system and kernel that take up most of the cpu. People are saying it's the touchwiz additions that are causing the system to use up more cpu cycles. I refuse to do a factory reset because there's so many reports of this not doing anything. There's clearly a bug in the 4.3 update for the SG3, unless it's touchwiz as everyone seems to indicate. How can I check to see if something is causing too many wakes?
4.3 works prefect here. same battery life as with 4.0 or 4.1.
it's not the fault of 4.3.

battery drain in idle / no deep sleep / 30% of battery gone overnight

I greet you all in the name of peace my fellow comrades.
4 days ago i joined you in the xiaomi smartphone race by buying xiaomi redmi note 3 pro. Everything was fine and nice till I found out the very first day that my phone suffers from huge battery drain overnight. I did my research about this matter already but was unable to find any clear and soul-soothing answer unfortunately, so I'd like to ask you if you could help me by sharing your experience and opinions with me.
I'm not going to pretend I'm not a hardcore noob in miui as it is my first xiaomi phone and generally flashing/rooting too since the last time i was flashing anything was like 4 years ago on my galaxy s1 i9000
So to make this post as short as possible:
I'm on stock OS - exactly as it came from the store - android v.: 5.1.1 LMY47V , security patch level 1.8.2016, miui v.:MIUI Global 8.0 | Stable 8.0.2.0(LHOMIDG) , CPU: hexa-core max 1,8GHz , no mi account yet, no unlocked bootloader, no root.
observation:
I downloaded cpu spy from google store. thanks to this app i came to know:
1- the phone never goes to deep sleep but stays on 691MHz or higher all the time.
2- after turning it off and on again, it can enter deep sleep for several hours. then I browse a little on wifi, check gmail and so on or whatever.. after some time, the phone usually doesn't get to deep sleep anymore.
- in battery use, android system and android are shown as the two major culprits (high percentage). When i click on the "android" process, high "keep awake" time is only present here. not in "android system"
cause?
D) Google Services? http://en.miui.com/thread-356299-5-1.html according to another guy, "they are working on a fix" -?
E) fingerprint wakelock? http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/kernel-t3414884 fix by flashing older modem - doesn't seem like my problem,. but what do i know right?
F) something else?
fix?
A) should i try to upgrade to 8.0.6.0.LHOMIDG | stable ? not sure, because miui forums are filled by users complaining about bad battery drain in this version.
B) Do i need to unlock it and get another ROM to solve this problem? According to this guy, changing ROM didn't help him https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/5af17d/battery_drain_on_xrn3_pro/ i try to avoid flashing as long as possible
C) is there even a fix?
I already went through this guide, but it didn't solve the problem http://en.miui.com/thread-339815-1-1.html
I bought a new phone and expected it to be working right out of the box, instead I've been just googling and googling for the past 4 days to no avail. I'm really confused and desperate in this matter and don't think I'd be able to continue looking and find a fix to this problem just by myself.
What should i do? I have time till next week's Wednesday to return it back to the store for full refund... or should I return it right away without any hesitation?
Thank you in advance for your reaction.
I've had this phone for some months now, and with normal daily usage and a custom rom, I can make it 4-5 days with 1 charge which is nearly impossible with MIUI ROMs; from personal experience at least. If you do not want to upgrade/change your rom, I would suggest you unlock your bootloader and root your phone. After that you could try installing "Greenify" from Play Store which really helps hibernate apps. I've been using it for over a year and it makes my battery life last at least 2-3 days more with normal everyday use. If that doesn't help either, you could try installing a custom rom which generally is "lighter" compared to MIUI roms. Hope I helped, good luck.

MIUI doesn't need Greenify because it kills apps automatically by default. I use it on all my devices except my RN3P.
My suggestion would be to go into the permission manager first and disable everything but the non-essential functions. Next go to background permissions in Additional Settings and do the same. It took me a few weeks to get things working properly and now I average about 6-7 hours of sot.
I still have some apps that keep occasionally have long keep awakes but force stopping them brings them back to normal. For example a 30 minute keep awake from bbm will show as only 5% on the stats but will account for a full 10% per hour on it's own. I've now removed it from the whitelist and allowed miui to control it. Hope this helps.
