[Q] Why can't I use WotanServer - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

I want to flash my Sony Neo with WotanServer.
But whenever I flash with WotanServer it means can't open certain file.
For example, if I want to flash to 4.0.A.2.368 UK firmware, after downloading for a while there is pop up show" CRC:Can't open C:\Wotanserver\data\flashes\RXCc0d0735a9c5e9f361fbb70fceb32634a"
What should I do.

[Q] PLEASE help to Flash my SE X10i mini pro from 1.6 to higher version!

After reading about 3-4 days this forum...my head is totaly in chaos.
I'm owner of u20i mini pro
Simply I do not understand many things here..
First of all I have v1.6 and what I want is to upgrade android version to use Skype and Trillian (IM client). So my first question is what is the most stabile firmware for my phone? Is there any newer versin than link in next sentence?
I try with this post:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895370
The problem is that the link for Flashtool version for that firmware is broken. So just new version can find v0.28.
I downloaded system.zip file and extract firware folder to Flashtool folder. But when I click on flash and browse to firmware folder there is nothing! So what can I do?
What does it meant to decrypt files? Do I need to decrypt that downloaded files from system.zip folder (from folder firware)???
Is it enough to make just a "Bundle Creation" from advanced menu in FlashTool v0.28 and then continue from step 6 with ftf extensions?
Notice: My phone is rooted and I have a Xrecovery instaled and have a USB drivers for flashing.
My phone is now simunlocked so I can use every sim card. Is there any danger that after I flash my phone with newer android that it wil be simlocked? Sorry for stupid question..but I must to know.
So if someone want to help me I will be thankful.
First, you are in the wrong forum. Putting the X10 (not mini) firmware on your mini is not a good idea. Go to the X10 mini forum and look for the flash guide for noobs.
Even if you don't get the latest 2.1 update from flashing, you can hook your phone up to SEUS or PC Companion after flash and get the latest firmware.
I believe that you will still be sim unlocked, but I am not sure. There is a thread by Batman_112 about the differences between debranding and unlocking in this forum.
I would provide links, but I am on my phone and can't. Let me know if you can't find them and I will send them to you in a bit when I get on my computer.
I can't understand you..wht you said that wrong firmware I choose? I posted link from x10 mini pro forum.
I try SE update service and it says for my country (Serbia) that the v1.6 is the newest firmware for my phone.

Sorry, I didn't realize you linked to the mini firmware. I don't understand why you are posting here. That firmware 2.0.2.A.0.24 is not the current one. The current one is 2.1.A.0.435 in the mini forum.
Go here for flashing for beginners....It should have everything you need....

Because in this thred there is not ftf files do I need to make it like hardway link said?
Model number is U20i
Will be my phone still simUNLOCKED after this update?
Anyone please!!!
Google search is your friend. I already told you about sim lock....No it should not affect it....here is another source.....

I don't know the best firmware for you to use. Any region will work. Try Nordic or UK. Obviously they are not going to have yours because they never updated your region to 2.1. So what you are doing is "debranding".
The hard way is not really difficult. There is just an extra step of extracting the sin files. Just right click on the sin files inside the firmware download and click extract to specified folder. In this case the specified folder is "firmware" folder inside the Flash Tool folder. If "firmware" folder doesn't exist you need to create one.
Really, just follow the instructions where you download the firmware. It is not that difficult..and try using Google search for your questions.
Also try asking your questions in the right forum. This is not the mini forum.

So you said that I need just to do a Bundle Creation and then follow the tutorial?
And thats it?
Yes. If you are using new Flash Tool, 2.4 or higher, just put the UK ftf file in firmware folder.
Flashing: Turn off your phone. Plug usb cable into computer but not your phone. Then go back to the computer and click on "x10flasher.exe" (or something like that) inside the Flash Tool folder below the firmware folder where you put the ftf bundle. The flasher will open. Click on the button "flash". Then select the firmware and click OK. Then it will say something like "connect X10 in flash mode". While holding the back button on your phone plug in the USB cable. Once the flasher starts release the back button. Wait till says finished. Done
Make sure you back up your data before you flash. Then restore when you are done. There are free Backup and Restore apps in the Market if you don't have one.
Edit: How did it go?
Thx man for detailed erplay..I make it with succes.
Now I'm using version UK v2.1

[HELP] Changing CDF makes SEUS to refuse to repair!

Hello everyone, I'm new here so sorry if I'm doing something wrong, I tried to search but couldn't find anything related to my problem!
I'm running in a little trouble trying to recover to my local factory firmware with SEUS since last friday, reading a lot of threads here and at other forums with no luck.
Hope someone could enlight me.
[EDIT to what is happening right know]
The history log:
- I update my U20a (1239-7686) mini pro with PC Companion as soon as I bought it to 2.1.1.A.0.6.
- Then I rooted, tried hundreds apps, removed other dozen with Titanium Backup installed JIT and then I had the "brilliant" to reset from the inside android menu wondering that my firmware will return fresh and clean, big mistake.
- After trying three different firmwares and versions (including downgrading to 1.6) with FlashTool 0.2.9.1 I finally found that with this one SEUS recognize my phone and repair it.
The problem is that when I edit build.prop to my factory CDF number, SEUS do not recognize it anymore. What am I doing wrong? Any clue??
just a thought...
Did you try force method?
Use seperated SE Update software not update from pccampanion.
Then when you have selected model etc etc enter in flash mode and let it finish with flashing ... works in 99% time..
what worked for me
I had about the same problem, but managed to sort it out with the Flash Tool.
Check if the latest firmware has been downloaded by the SE Updater Service to /Program Files/Sony Ericsson/Updater Service/db/. (check the size, there should be about 100+ MB in there).
If so, you can use the Flash Tool to :
1) decrypt the files in the .../db/12345678/ folder
2) build a package from the newly decrypted .sin files (the build package window will open right after the decryption), select all the .sin files, name the package and go
3) flash that package to your phone.
I hope this will work for you too.

I tried with PC Companion, and SE Update Service, both softwares available from SE website.
If you mean I should use SE Update Service, that's exactly the problem, it doesn't work. Otherwise I don't know what you mean about force method.

I didn't try this because SE Updater stops right after I choose the Mini Pro, it tells me I have the lastest firmware no matter what firmware I've flashed, even 1.6. Just to be sure I'll check this when I go back home.
Try to change the custom revision number too inside the build.prop, it helped for me before. Eg from R4B to R3B.
Sent from my U20i using XDA Premium App
i got this problem too, now im stuck on the previous kernel and dont know what to do... but the SEUS file decryption sounds nice... ill give it a shot...

[Q] Help understanding FTF files please!

Hello....i'm new to my xperia s, i've managed to unlock the bootloader, and im rooted and have recovery using doomkernel. I don't fully understand about FTF files. I cannot find much info about them. I'm currently on 67 but i see firmware numbers 73 and 76 from different countries. Whats the difference? If i flash one of these firmwares, can i get back to 67? Are these firmwares country specific, or are they suitable for everyone worldwide? I noticed some ROMS require use of different firmwares, thus i'm still on stock till i fully understand. I've seen flashtool about, so i imagine this is for flashing firmwares? After flashing a firmware, do i have to flash a pre rooted system image, or do i just flash a new ROM? How would i get back to stock....is there an RUU or SBF etc... Any advice would be appreciated. Many Thanks.
1. Use the search function and google
2. .ftf = FLASH TOOL FILE
3. You can flash any generic you like, people generally recommend Netherlands(NL) or Singapore(SG). You can flash back to 67 at any point to get updates as normal.
4. With bootloader unlocked you can also flash prerooted images/roms(dont bother with these till ICS).
Official stock roms are packed in FTF format files so it can be flashed by flashtools.
You can flash any firmware even for different regions, each one has different apps preinstalled.
Preroot img files are for rooting your phone.
Doom kernels has root and recovery inside.

Restore Xperia S to original firmware?

Hey guys,
I installed Switzerland Generic ROM on my Xperia S a while ago before ICS was available in my region, doing this I realized it wouldn't pick up any network when I was abroad, when under normal circumstances it would.
So I tried restoring it to the default firmware eventually, and I could only find a generic UK version which wasn't the same SI number as my own. Mine is 1257-3114.
Since then my phone has become very slow and takes a while loading up things like the home screen, the browser etc.
So I tried repairing it using the Sony PC Companion, however that believes I'm running custom firmware. What I want to be able to do is to just restore it to the stock firmware for my model in my region, which I haven't been able to find. Even Gingerbread is fine, as long as Sony PC Companion lets me upgrade it! I believe my current build number is 6.1.A.0.453
Many Thanks,
Adam
you need to relock your bootloader before you can use pc companion use search on here to find relocker ftf ( there are specific for gb and ics) if u can find only gb version then get any xperia s ftf firmware off here flash using flashtool then flash the relocker and repair using pc companion

Stock ICS for XU

In my region (PK) ICS is still not released and don't know how long it will take so I am thinking to get a stock ICS rom and manually flash it so any links, docs, suggestion will be appreciated.
Hey man,
First, download the following files :
1) 6.1.1.B.1.54 FTF
2) Flashtool
Then, after installing Flashtool, copy the FTF to the firmware folder inside Flashtool install directory
After that, run Flashtool and select the Flash button (Select Flashmode)
Select the firmware, and you can select the options on right side. If you've got a ST25a,then tick the "Ignore Baseband" option because that firmware is for ST25i.
Then, it will say Connect Phone. Turn off your phone & wait 5 - 10 s.
Then, holding down the VOLUME DOWN (not Back Key) Key, connect the USB cable and wait for it to flash
Then, just wait for the Flashtool to finish its job
Thanks Min3r I will try it, seems straight forward to me, just to confirm that it do not require boot loader unlocking and rooting as it is an official firmware!
Nope Bootloader unlocking is required only for flashing non-stock Kernels. So, Custom ROMs,Rooting and alot more are possible provided its based on a stock kernel
Thanks. Let me try it now.
How can I revert back to 2.3.7 if I face issues with ICS?
Just get the GB ftf and flash it using Flashtool. Simple as that. But I doubt you'd face any cause everyone here's been using it fine
Thanks, do you have any link for stock GB same as you refered me for ICS?
My only concern is broken tethering which I am not using so far
Apparently its an issue with .54 roms.. I think it works fine in .10 though
Try this out for GB GB India
Yep seems like it works in .10 but do you know what advantages .54 has over .10?
Thanks for GB link but its .184, is there .188 ftf available?
Check this thread out : B.1.54 All details available there
and .188, try searching this forum.. It would be here somewhere dude..
I'm trying to flash the ICS ftf file, but I always get the missing drivers error.
I installed the drivers with the flashtool-drivers app (flashtool, fastboot and XP Sola/U/P drivers).
What can I do ? Please help, I'm tired of GB.
// looks like restarting the computer solved the problem. It's flashing as I type.
