[Q] Gallery acting up??? - Motorola Photon 4G

Sometimes when i take pictures and check them out later they are fine until i tap on them from the gallery then they get all messed up and seem to get saved that way. Here is my hurried explanation of what that looks like...On the phone they are half cut out and a rainbow of color goes where the picture crops out so the top half is fine the bottom is filled in with the cascade of color. From inside the gallery the picture loooooks fine until i tap on it then its all messed up again, if i put these messed up pictures online or save them to my computer they are still ruined. This is becoming a problem because i usually have no time to write down my schedule at work and i like to snap a picture of it which takes seconds also it happens occasionally i can take several pictures at a time and they all come out fine. I'am rooted using photon torpedo i have edited my build prop in the past for higher quality still shots but i restored the default build along time ago. Iam not able to update at the moment unless i go back to stock if that would help i would return to stock, update and root later. Anyone have this happen?

Nope.I've has my pictures cut in half tough with the rainbow bit before.greet changing the store location and see if that helps. G.l.

if storage location does not fix it, try a hard reset. I was having some issues and had to hard reset, open camera, take pic, check it gallery otherwise i would get a force close in the gallery when trying to "album" the photos. Hope this helps

[Q] Android 4.3 Camera Security Bug

Android 4.3 Camera Security Bug - Samsung Galaxy Nexus upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 via OTA.
Anyone who recently upgraded can try and replicate this issue.
After upgrade launch the camera, try to set as default settings as you can (not sure if this matters, but try turning off the camera flash).
Use the rear facing camera, press the shutter button as fast as you can, look in the gallery. You might find that photos you previously took and deleted have resurfaced.
Try the same thing with the front facing camera.
I was able to "recover" photos taken and deleted a couple weeks ago using this method. I'm guessing that something in the software can't keep up so it finds old photos and uses them for some reason. After a few rounds of doing this, the problem went away, so maybe it cleared out some kind of cache or used up whatever leftover deleted photos there were.
Anyone else able to replicate?
Whole photos or just the thumbnail? I've had a similar thing on an archos tablet where the thumbnail is an old, deleted photo, but when you select it to display full size, it's the one that was just taken.

It was the whole photo viewed in the gallery. Swipe left from the camera app and the previously deleted photos were viewable. Tap once, they fill the screen, pinch to zoom they enlarge. I didn't try downloading them to my computer through USB. The problem went away after a few rounds of doing this and deleting all available photos, it was quite disconcerting in terms of privacy. The front camera and rear camera seemed to have their own separate caches of deleted photos as the issue happened with each independently. I ended up doing a factory reset which hopefully will be good enough. Nothing special about my device, Galaxy Nexus GSM, purchased from the play store, always upgraded through OTA, never unlocked, never custom ROMs, never rooted, etc...

[Q] Problem with pictures.

Hello,
I have not found anybody posting about these problems. The first problem is very odd, but sometimes I can take a picture and it will be fine. It will show up in the little preview window of the camera and in the Gallery. Then at some time the picture displays as just a black picture. If I try to view the picture after mounting it to my laptop. I get an error, "Error interpreting JPEG image file (Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x00 0x00). I attached a screen shot of my Gallery. There is 3 black pictures where there where perfectly good picture.
To me one of the funniest issues is that I can see the image just fine for a few minites sometimes. Other times it will be a day or a week that the picture works just fine. Then I will have just a black picture there. This was not happening until after I have been running th3Bill AOKP 4.1.2 for about a month. Before this the pictures and camera where working just fine.
I don't know if it is related but shortly after this started I would sometimes try to take a picture and the phone will say to please insert a memory card. I know that the SD memory card is still in there. I can access files off of it. This can happen after I have taken some pictures and the camera worked fine, or after waking it up after sleeping for a long time. Most of the times rebooting the phone will fix that problem.
Is there anyway to fix this so that my photos don't become a picture that is nothing but blackness?
Thanks
What rom are you using? Anything above 2.3.6 IS broken, camera doesn't behave normally

Android Open Kang Project (AOPK) 4.1.2.
I just find it odd that this seems to be a problem with something going wrong with the data after it is writen to the SD card. That it is only something that happens some of the time. That I could have a picture and use it for months in some cases and then it turns black, or I could have it for 1 minute before the same thing happens.
Yup, reverting back to 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 should get back to normal

[Q] Slow loading photo from camera app

s6 edge user
viewing photo from Samsung stock camera is extremely slow, often took more then 2 sec to actually load the image (only allowed to use galaxy gallery app)
When I download Google camera, viewing image by swiping left display the image instantly and smoothly (using google+ photo app)
I want to keep using the Samsung stock camera because it's so much better then google camera, but viewing photo through camera app is insane painful
any solution?
I got the same problem. They literally take some time to load each picture. Would have though that they would open faster with the new internal flash memory as the read and write speeds were supposed to be quite fast. They said they were the fastest on the market today but obviously this is not the case when load times of each picture is 1-2 seconds.
You've said by your own.
The stock camera is much better than google camera and it has a very good quality and that means it's need more time in processing because it's better.

I don't think that is the true reason for slow load
because once u load the first image, the following 100 image will scroll smoothly
if you saying the first image need more time to load because the picture was just recently taken,
then it should instantly load if I patiently wait for few seconds after photo taken allowing time for image to save, which is not the case, the gallery still require seconds to load the first image despite waiting
this proves that it is the gallery/camera app problem instead of image quality or anything

anyone know how to reduce delay when opening samsung gallery app through camera?
or even better, change the default gallery app load through camera to quickpic ?
I tried almost all famous third party camera app, all of them are pretty bad in terms of speed and function
I don't have this problem. Mine loads quickly even if I completely quit the camera app take a picture then look at it. Believe me I know how bad it was with their previous flagship I had the Note 3 but I commend them for this.
Bump... Anyone found a solution to this? Aggravating when you want to see a picture you've taken, and it takes 10 seconds to load.... The old solution of removing 'other sources' from the Gallery app isn't possible anymore, as Samsung have removed any concept of settings from the Gallery app. Annoying!!

Phone crashes when I try to video and pictures completely grey?

When ever I switch to take a video it says my camera app has stopped working and when I try to take a pic, it clicks shows the pic in the top right but when I click on it, its just a completely grey block.
I've only had the phone a few weeks and this is first time I decided to test the camera as I don't really take a lot of pics.
I really don't wanna do another factory reset as I've only just installed and set up everything.
Anyone know what it is?

Gallery closing after taking a picture and trying to review it

Hi there,
this issue quickly came into place after I got my phone for a couple of days. Maybe it's because I have a lot of pictures on my device but it's very annoying.
So what happens?
I take a picture with the stock camera and immediately after taking it, I see it on the bottom right where I can click it to open the gallery. If I do that the picture opens for a split second and I'm back in the camera view again. I can try that as often I want and it happens again and again. But after about 5 seconds or so it works. Then the gallery (or the taken picture to be more precise) stays open and can be reviewed or shared etc.
Also when I wait those 5 seconds after taking it. So it seems something is processed there but on one of the "fastest phones" this is kind of strange.
Anyone with the same problem?
Thanks

I have the same issue. Maybe the reason is because I have too many pictures.
