X8 Stock (2.1) Keyboard on GingerDX - XPERIA X8 Themes and Apps

Both GingerXperia v11 and FD Xperience 2.0 have stock x8 keyboard, and it's better than any other keyboard sollution. I tried to backup it using Titanium backup and use with other ROMS for exapmle GingerDX but it didn't work. Has anyone managed to install this keyborad, or have .apk?? Thanks. I tried X8 Chinese keyboard but there is a lot of difference beetwen those two.

Download this file and using xrecovery or CWM flash it. Have fun!!!!

I was asking myself the same...anyway, i'm on GDX18+LDX4 so I have CWM only built in kernel...and it doesn't support Amend scripts. I converted it to Edify: keyboard works, yes, but no dictionary or prediction :-( Any Idea!??!

This is were is was looking for but no dictionary indeed. I found here a topic with this keyboard with dictionary but it's for an X10 and I can't make it work on my X8

This means you installed it but doesn't work? I even can't install 'cause it's amend script and CWM doesn't want to install...even after converting it :-(
I'm trying to simply copy dictionaries from that zip to /system/usr ...let's hope !

So?install it with xrecovery

GDX on LinuxDX kernel...CWM is built-in in linuxDX. Don't know if it's possible to use x-rec
Copying dictionaries from the x10 swipe keyboard didn't the job :-(

Progress !!!
I managed to extract the contents of a backup I did months ago immediatly after restoring my x8...it's a super-clean factory rom. The guide I used is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890508
Then I copied /usr/keyboard-config & /usr/xt9 folders to my SD and from there to internal memory with root explorer.
t9 & dictionaries are ok.
Only text prediction isn't working.
The 2 folders are in the attached .zip file !
I'm a total noob...so if someone can merge this two folders inside the original keyboard's zip script...

I make it to work at me:x

Ok, txt prediction also works...I only has to learn a little what you write generally after a word ;-)
So, I think we did it !

At me it doesn't need to learn, only the new words ,but it's working like in stock rom:x

So is this the way or am I over my head of what you are saying?
I really liked the stock keyboard more than the android keyboard currently in GDX19

I also rebuilt a .zip file including those directories in it, for use with CWM recovery directly, so no need to copy manually any folder. I updated this morning to GDX19 and than I tested the .zip on my phone & seems to work. Now going home from work, later or tomorrow I will upload them.

How you make the update zip?

Adding the two directories inside the usr dir of the original zip file simply did the job. The script copies them recursively. Really easy. I converted it to Edify for CWM 'cause I've that built into kernel!
Winrar does the job to add those dirs.
If you need Amend to Edify conversion, follow the guide I linked some post ago

[HELP] Port some things from stock rom to custom rom

Hello
I have just installed a stock rom called S5830XWKR2_S5830OXFKS3_ORO(from Orange Romania). This rom is awesome,t9 is great and gps works perfectly, but i want to install the new infinity rom and i want to port some things from the stock rom to this rom. And i need a little help.First i want to have the t9;i noticed in system/app AxT9IME.apk and UserDictionaryProvider.apk..will it be ok if i just add those files in the system/app of the custom rom before i install it? I also want the gps settings from the stock rom;i don't know where those could be.And the last thing i want is the stock Contacts;the cm contacts aren't so good because i can't add contacts to the sim card.
Hope someone knows how to help me!
Thanks.
if u want stock samsung keyboard, someone had claim he manage to make it work with cm7. search the forum for it.
and stock samsung contact need samsung's framework, thus it wont work with cm7.
and what about the gps?
Justing adding the AxT9IME.apk file to system/app won't make the keyboard work. Here's the whole process for Stock keyboard - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21133980

About the contacts, stock contacts won't work but you can try Go Contacts Ex from market if you want to add contacts to sim card.
PS -I am not really sure if you'll be able to add contacts to sim card through that app. Just a wild guess.
Please press the thanks button if I helped you

lesson no. 1
you need the base files...
you can get it from?
1. a nandroid backup of your own device
2. a pc companion blob
3. someone else's rom
4. an ftf file
option 3 is best usually
option 2 and 4 are worst...and anyways can be used only for stock based roms
Sent from my X10S using xda premium
lesson 2
how to extract files
1. if its a .sin file, use sin2img.exe by azuzu or sin2img.py by defer and continue to step 2
2. if its a .img file, get unyaffs.exe (or get the whole xperia rom manager package) and use it to extract
3. if its a zip...well....what do you need then? nothing

lesson no 3
thre is a thread in dev section written by spaarc which is about porting roms (its 80% complete...lol)
though it may not pertain to you, if you are not porting cm7/miui but still that's a very informative thread...read it thoroughly

first question is how do you do a nandroid backup of my own device? secondly i cant seem to find sin2img.exe is there a specific site or maybe a link hint hint

Samsung mini keyborad + notepad working on Xperia X10 mini pro

Hello frnds, i have found this samsung keyboard (file attached) working fine on the Xperia mini pro (obviously only the soft keyboard). It is very nice so you can give it a try if you like..
Just incase you want to try.
1. Install zip on ur SD card
2. Go to recovery mode
3. Mount system and come back to install custom zip
4. Select the installed file in step 1 and reboot
5. Select samung keyboard as default in language and keyboard settings.
Update on 09.01.2013
Adding Notepad.apk, which is working fine on Gingerbread, ICS and Jellybean roms...very light weight and ofcourse useful..
Install as normal apk file or copy to /system/app using root explorer or anyother file management app. and change permission to rw-r-r

I love this keyboard but now my volume buttons aren't working. So, I can't go to CWM and flash this excellent keyboard.
Can I install it with root explorer? It's just a matter of copy system folder included in the zip?
Plz help
EDIT: Solved. Copied the zip files into /system with root explorer.

[FIX][ALL CM10 ROMS!!] finally , fix for the compass in google maps !!!

Hi everyone !
I want to share with you today the fix for that crazy bug , it's so simple it just need a file replacing process !
0- be sure to make a nandroid buckup
1- download the libsensorservice.zip file attached below , extract it and place libsensorservice.so on your sdcard
2- copy it to /system and set permission to rw-r--r-- [using root explorer or a similar app] .
3- now copy it to /system/lib replace when asked .
4- reboot
OR
just flash cwm-flashable-fix-compass-cm10.zip via cwm !
WAITING for feedbacks
click thanks if it works for you as well
I have a question. You say, to copy the ilibsensrservice.so to system and then to system/lib. Why to not copying it directly to system/lib and skipping step 2?

sorry but i'm not very expert in how making a ( compatible ) flashable zip , I just used the "easy way" to make that one , if it's not working then replace it following the steps in 1st post , don't worry , it is very easy , and nothing is going to happen just make sure you have a backup of your rom
is there a fix for non-CM rom's? like stock one? cheers!

Stock Rom doesn't have problems with the compass on Google maps. Flashing this thing won't do anything on your Rom. It is aimed to fix the above problem, only on cm10 based roms so it's useless for your stock Rom
