[ROM] Stock Rooted Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.08.651.3 odex & deodex (10-27-2011) - HTC EVO 3D

This is the stock 2.08.651.2 ROM from the RUU with the 2.08.651.3 update applied. All files in /system were updated and the new kernel is included (only changes in ramdisk from what I've read). Root, busybox, and bash have been added using dsixda's kitchen. Both odex and deodex versions are available. The only thing this ROM does not include from the update is the recovery.img.
If you are HBOOT 1.50 and HTC unlocked/S-On, you may have to flash the kernel differently and/or remove it from the .zip.
Post if there are any problems and make a backup before you flash if you're worried . I was surprised no one had done this yet and thought this might help some people until the RUU gets released.

This is the stock 2.08.651.3 kernel. I don't know what freeza did to his, but I read his post saying the kernel source (zImage) hasn't changed. The only changes were in the ramdisk and probably related to the CIQ/tracking thing. That kernel and any using koush's anykernel updater script will work fine with this ROM and leave the ramdisk intact. This rom will get you updated to the latest official rom without worrying about having to re-flash a custom recovery.

This is just a .zip you flash with a custom recovery (like any other ROM here). I just mentioned the RUU in my first post to explain how I made the ROM.

This only contains the changes that HTC made. I assume they fixed any of the security holes that TrevE pointed out. I don't think all of the tracking is bad. If you follow the suggestions by TrevE to remove all 'tracking', you end up killing things like the 'Favorites' function of the stock app drawer. That function obviously keeps track what apps you open and how frequently, but it can't work otherwise (and I doubt it gets sent off to HTC, especially if you opt-out of TellHTC).

Thanks this is needed, saves a lot of time for people.

Downloading now. Thanks. Running smooth everybody?

both zips say it in the name. also, if you already downloaded either, you can look into the zip and check system/app and see if theres any odex files. if there is, then its obviously odexed.
Edit: I read it wrong. Sorry.

You can use either version. Stock roms are odexed, while many custom roms are deodexed because it is easier to theme/mod. Deodex may have a longer startup time on first boot after a flash, but there is not really a huge difference between the two. You can google for more information if you're interested.

Ok this might be a dumb question, Im on CleanRom2.2 and im using freeza's kernal, how much of a difference is there between the Fix that HTC rolled out compared to what freeza did with his kernal (It's been modified to remove cIQ (Carrier IQ) backend/frontend/misc from the kernel) and the CleanRom Version of the stock 2.08.651.2 ROM? Just trying to see if i need to flash this or stuck to what im running already.

Well, approximately 224 files (that's how many changed compared to my own custom ROM, so it may be off compared to a true stock 2.08.651.2 ROM) are patched/modified in /system and a few logging app's that are deleted. This is in addition to the changed in the ramdisk inside of boot.img (which is what you have using freeza's modified kernel). I'm sure Scott and other cooks will be updating their roms. You just have to re-do all of the mods using the new/patched app's in the 2.08.651.3 ROM.

Thanks for posting this bud. I'm with you on the tracking stuff, esp when we started seeing reports of people losing functions from the removal of the "tracking" stuff. I'm all for tracking stuff to help better guage customers use habits and help them better address those needs/wants, as long as there is a proper opt out thing. I would also think they now have the info secure as opposed to just there where any app with internet privalages could access the info and send it out.
id much rather the devs start leaving ths stuff all in there and then just having a zip to flash and remove the tracking stuff if ppl want it out and they are all paranoid about it.

Coming from a Samsung Vibrant which is easy to root and flash roms.
Why are the new HTC devices so difficult, I mean I've been on my samsung for two and half years so now that I finally came back to HTC after 4 years everything seems like a pain in the butt to do. I have to unlock the bootloader in order to root, then I have to unlock s-off which I heard stands for security on/off yet I still don't understand it and to do that I need to do some wire trick that is still really not explained that well, and all this so I can flash a custom rom.
I'm curious though as to how this s-off method was recently released how have people used and created other roms if this was the first s off method?
I apologize if I come off sounding like a noob, but HTC is different from what I remembered on the G1 and myTouch 3G.
do i need to flash the ph85imgeng-1.90.2005 before?

This ROM is set up for S-OFF devices! If you are not S-OFF you will need to flash the PH98IMG.zip in fastboot. You shoudl also S-OFF your device
Download ROM here: HERE
Download PH98IMG.zip HERE
If you are on the Gingerbread firmware you will need to flash the old firmware patch immediately after flashing the ROM. This will be on the SD card after you flash the ROM.
If you dont understand any of this please ask in the thread before you start flashing! Its easier to learn then to fix a mistake!
As always...
ENJOY! (and hit Thanks!)

Oh, guess I'm still used to my Samsung Galaxy S days. When we flashed ROM's on that they had new modems, kernels, and the ROM all in one zip file we flashed from clockworkmod recovery. Simple and quick. Still slightly confused with this HTC why the ROM zips dont come with the modem, OS, and kernel all in one zip to flash quickly and simply.

I wouldn't.
just because it has a new hboot.
it would be really bad if they find a root exploit finally for out old hboot and then everyone updates to the new OTA with new hboot..
For those running this, does it have the option to disable the black menu bar on the bottom like the Evo 4G LTE got?

So, the ROM listed in http://www.filefactory.com/f/75712a64f20bd56e/ is not the RUU?

It is behind FileFactory's pay-wall, I admit. Is that why it isn't considered "released"?
So is there any chance this update will have some kind of unpatched exploit to get root?

Thanks for posting this, Nit. It installed perfectly and I ran it for a few days. As much as I like the Sense 4.1, its hard to give up all the tweaks I'm enjoying on the Venom Team's release. Will I be able to use the newer boot with the Venom ROM ?

Yes, but you all need to pull the wifi module as well and push that
So forgive the possible stupid question, but so long as were already HTCDev unlocked (did mine day one it was released) updating to the new boot.img won't relock us i assume.
Also say i install this newer version then decide i want to revert back to my custom rom based on the original RUU (QX senseless), would having the newer boot.img installed stop that or cause issues?

Once your unlocked your unlocked.
You can relock if you so desire but you will need to install the full ruu and then you can always unlock again.
Will the 3 button remap, and the volume wake mods work with this?

ATT HTC One can flash International HTC One firmware

Hey I just wanted to make a list of things I have confirmed to be interchangeable between the ATT HTC One and International HTC One. I have yet to test bootloader.
1. System
2. Boot.img
3. Recovery.
4. Radio
Also all of these can be flashed in recovery if you are unlocked with a custom recovery

i agree completely....XDA is so bloated already with the amount of devices, we REALLY need to combine these two, sooner than later.
To be honest, i will most likely only be following the international thread if we do keep them separate. The development over there is exploding....i usually did the same with my Inspire 4G and the Desire HD forums....
Ya I follow them. Hell they will get 4.2.2 first.

wait ,
you were able to flash the firmware.zip for 1.29.401.12
????
Edit nm , removed link also , so people dont download and install it.
I saw your post on the radio firmware and see that you installed it from that. Works great too.

What files are the "system" you are talking about ? I thought we still needed correct CID to flash the firmware package updates? I'm talking about the firmware updates like Mike1986 posted..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823 This would be an entire firmware update.. at least all the important stuff. I assume we can flash it all now?
As far as radios...for ATT guys and gals if you are on Build 1.26.502.10 Then you already have the same radio. Radio 4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01L
If you are on Build 1.26.502.6 Then you have the older radio. Radio 4A.13.3231.20_10.30.1131.05L and you may benefit from updating.
My phone shipped from ATT with the latest firmware. So the point is Check your radio version before flashing.. You might not need it.
Is there any other reading on this topic?
Or is it as simple as just treating the AT&T version like the international and just flashing whatever kernels/recoveries/roms we please?
If there is no blood offering needed, the AT&T version gains much more dev support and makes it much more attractive...
Sorry if I took any info wrongly, but it almost seems to good to be true in my mind.

So far everything is working great on the ATT phones. No telling what future firmware will hold but so far we are good to go.

They're the same internal development codename. TMOUS, EMEA LTE, and ATT USA are all M7_UL in the bootloader, as far as HTC is concerned, they're the same phones with different radio bands enabled and disabled.
How do we file a petition to join the forums? It should be combined. In the past, it made sense to keep the forums separated.
Has anyone else noticed that a reboot brings back all uninstalled bloatware back...? And also any change in system (like using AdFree for changing host files are reverted back.
Any input?

Doesn't the TWRP Recovery take care of that with the HTC Dumlock?
What is different from HTC One and One X, One X had no problem with this.

This ^ Any changes made to /system/ while booted will be reverted upon reboot. For anything to stick it needs to be added/removed via recovery (while not booted). Or (if still on the stock kernel, as I assume most custom kernel's already do this), you can do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230341

From what I understand TWRP's Dumlock is for flashing kernel's through recovery. Previous HTC Bootloaders on other devices would not allow flashing to the boot partition through recovery, so fastboot flashing boot.img was necessary unless you were s-off. Dumlock circumvented this. From what I've read, Dumlock is not necessary on our devices, as our current bootloader does not block the flashing of the boot partition from recovery (as long as your dev/chef includes the necessary scripting for the kernel/boot.img to be flashed during the ROM install). Keep in mind that any OTA could carry a new bootloader that will break this, so tread cautiously..
I cannot find it
I cannot find it...does anyone know where i can find the factory rom for AT&T i didn't do a backup and need to return the phone..

[Q] Where is the thread that lists all of the roms available on the Rezound?

I forgot to subscribe to the thread when I found it. Does anyone know what thread I'm talking about. It was updated recently, it lists all the current roms that are available on the Rezound. The thread was updated in the last month or two if I remember correctly, providing links to hard to find roms. I'm back on sense and going through these old threads is a pain. I've tried to search for the thread but no luck.
Thanks

Yep, that was it thanks
I just had one more quick question while your still on. I flashed back to sense, I followed your guide, I'm back on 4.03.605.2 710RD but only stock/root.
I'm looking through some Sense and ICS roms and was wondering on how to flash these again, it's been so long. For example I was going to try these 2, CleanROM 4.5 - ICS 4.0.3 & Viral OTA v3 - 4.03.605.2. I want to flash a couple Sense and ICS roms and maybe a JB rom again. Curious if I can just flash one, wipe then move onto the next?
CleanROM is based off of 3.11.605.22 and Viral OTA is based of off 4.03.605.2. Can I just go ahead and flash these ROMs like I normally would, just wipe & flash (since im s-off)? Or do I have to RUU back to the RUU that the ROM is based from? Or will flashing the ROM just put me on that specific RUU anyhow?

What sense rom are using I'll try it out. I just want a sense rom that I could use daily that also has some good features/mods. Like the updated quick settings, etc. The main reason I went back to sense is that I though I could use app2sd as I know JB uses the internal card for almost everything, I was using up space to quickly and my ext sdcard was not even being used. I partitioned my 64gb sdcard to use it with Link2sd and sense but its really not doing what I thought it would. The apks get moved to the ext2 partition but the /data folder doesn't, which are like 1-5gb in size and they are still left on my internal.
I found all of neos roms and scrosler roms on his forum. But I'll take the sense rom your using and ill use that as my daily for now. Need something fast and stable. Id love to go back on JB but I need all of my phones features working, camera, camcorder, etc. So I'm going to try and find the best sense/ics rom currently out and play with that for a while. Hopefully JB works out its kinks in the mean time.
Last thing, you said I need to flash amon ra when using sense/ics roms? Twrp for JB.
Again thanks for all help. I don't have much time to get on here, son is sick so I'm really busy. Much appreciated!

Thanks I found it, Global OTA Stock De-sensed-v1.0 Rooted. Is there a mod so I can get extended settings on it? I remember seeing a thread that had all types of mods to flash but it's and old thread, cant find it.

Yep. I'm about to flash Global OTA Stock De-sensed-v1.0 Rooted, is it true that I need to to remove all links in Link2SD, put everything back on internal before flash new roms? Do I need to remove the partion from microsdcard or have to do anything else to it, or can I leave it as is while I flash roms? I know you told me to flash back to amonra while on sense, so I'm doing that. Just wanted to know if anything else needs to be done.
edit: One last thing, should I be able to see the partition I made whenever I plug my phone into my pc? I know the partition is sd_ext2(i believe), why can't I see it on my PC?
I'm talking about these extended/quick settings. Some Sense roms have tons of features like wifi off, control the brightness, gps on/off, etc. all from that windows. I can't find the thread where all these mods where at.
