i have a new problem with my htc legend its sometimes when i need to do something the touch screen give me a wrong selection and other times it not respond ,,, i do a restart for the phone and it back to work .. but i can't keep turn the phone off and re on it if somebody no how to fix this error its will be great and i keep the screen clean from everything i keep clean it but that is not help

It happens too with my old ROM (B0.4.8), but didn't find the origin of the problem.
Sometimes it happens with my new ROM (CM9 Beta4) but only when I charge it (when by USB), as soon as I disconnect the cable, the phone is functionnal...
yeah but its not a problem with the room because i didn't do anything for the Os on it .. it just start like this sometimes it respond other times no .. if it work you have to made a selection many time or restart the phone
I experience it too. As I remembered after installing HomICS Venus this problem occur. I do not know whether its ROM related or not. I tried to flash another ROM ex. BlaYO ROM and CRQ 1.3 but the problems still persist.
I had this problem too - sent it to HTC and they exchanged my Legend for a new one ----- as I heared it is a common problem and has to do with the grounding of the touchscreen -> that is why it works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt
Sorry to say that I too suffer from this problem. Also, the part of my screen, where the power widget on the notification bar is resting, is completely unresponsive. I need to use the trackball to hit those buttons. And also, sometimes the screen can just go bananas and go into spasmic movements on its own. In my frustration once I hit the screen really hard with my knuckles and that temporarily fixed the spasmic movements. But it still reoccurs. I assume I would need my warranty to replace my phone, but my warranty has already ran out.
I can also confirm that it has NOTHING to do with your ROM. It started for me when I was running CyanogenMod 7.1, but I still have the same problems on stock ROM, HomICS, Miui, basically any ROM.

I Installed today new update, from PC companion. After doing that lock screen is showing up by itself. I dont even touch the phone, and its showing. I dont have any turned apps on, clear phone. Can somebody help me? Please.

Explain your problem in a little bit more depth please.
Can you explain exactly what happens?
Like what exactly do you mean when you say "Even when I don't touch it"

I encountered this problem too. The random wake ups were caused by airpush ads. I used an app to find the cause for this and deleted it. In my case it was gpsfix.

Xperia P Lock Screen Issue
i have Xperia P and i have the same problem; i think its because of the loose bottom (the mic part that is connected to that transparent touch thing) when it started to move after one week of use it started having the issue.

I got a used HTC RADAR at a dirt cheap price..
The device works fine but i find few prob with it..
1. Proximity sensor not working during calls. But i can make a call and use the power button to turn of the screen and it lights up When the call get hang up.
2. Notification and sms tone is buggy. It sometime shows and rings after a boot. Sometime it does not notify or show on msg counter. I have to go into the app and check for msgs...
3. Low volume. The volume on the ear piece and the loudspeaker are really low
can hear the other person speaking to me easily in quite place, but in real noisy place, i cant barely hear them i have to place my device so close and press it towards my ears to hear them.
4. IMEI no miss match... This is really strange. The imei on the device sticker and the box are same but the imei no inside the device ( about screen ) is diff from both.. dono how it is possible..
My main issue is to solved is the Proximity sensor and low volume..
I did a Reset in Settings but that didnt help me...
So i planned to Restore the device with ZUNE...
I have used Samsung Focus before, in that once it restored it to Mango zune. I dono how i did tat.
All i want is ZUNE to download the ROM back again and install it all fresh.. Hope that will clear the software related issue...
Also is there any Test mode to test out the proximity sensor???
Kindly do help me guys.. its my daily driver...

If after the reset you still have problems then probably its a hardware one ...
The IMEI can be different if the Phone was on service and they replace the mainboard ..
You cant download a rom with zune ... maybe you have to try to flash a custom rom ..

my problem is, that the Display of my SE XPERIA RAY sometimes turn black.
It´s not regularly! It happen from time o time. Sometimes, while the phone lies on the table or something and it ever will turn off if i do a call and hold my Phone next to my Ear (it´s something with the proximity-sensor probably i think)
My Display-Timeout is set to 30minutes, but i think that´s not relevant, or i´m wrong ?!
I found out, if i use ADB and send the KEYCODE_ENDCALL with "adb shell input keyevent 6" to the Phone, the Result will be the same!
The Display turns off!
But if you Press the ON/OFF-Button you can unlock the Phone! There´s full functionality of the Screen! You can do every Action you want, but you don´t see it ( cause of this i use screencast to control the Phone... but, as you certainly know, it´s not pretty cool with 4-5 fps (
I really hope you can help me! This Ray is actually my only usable Phone (
I had want to post the "dumpsys power"-informations, but can´t find it yet.
what i have noticed, is, that if the Display works correct the "mUserState" is set to 3 and while Display is not working correctly it is set to 0.
But i don´t know if this is relevant.

1. Softkeys ( Menu and Home ) starting to auto-press today suddenly for no reason. Before you ask , I don't droped my phone or any type of shock !
2. After some time sofkeys ( Menu and Home ) stop working at all ! They don't even light out if I'm trying to press them... Although the 'Back' key is working perfectly fine.. :/
These problem solve magically after one restart but after few minutes they still persist ! Sometimes working fine , sometimes autopressing or not working at all and after a while working again.. :/
Anyone else had this problem too or know how to fix it ? ( if it's even possible to fix )
P.S. I don't think that's an Software problem , I think that's an Hardware problem tho...
EDIT : My 'Menu' and 'Home' buttons are officially dead now... R.I.P. !
I have the same problem... After updatee from 7.1.3 to 7.5.1 and to 8.0.1. I tried with custom ROM, with stop Tapatalk... But without success. I tried also with another launcher and they start to work for only 10 minutes.. tried also with wipe cache! This is very big problem

That's not a Software problem , that's a Hardware problem...
In my case all started yesterday... Menu and Home keys started to autopress/not working and until night they stopped working at all , completely dead ! That happened suddenly , I never had that problem or have dropped my phone , never !
Also I read that many Xiaomi have this problem including Redmi Note 3 and even Mi5
R.I.P. Soft keys !
Now they work again after whole day that they don't worked at all now suddenly starting to autopress again and works pressing them :/ They worked again ( including autopressing ) just for few minutes and then not working again..
I'm starting not to understand this device at all !

Acutally it's software problem... I'm sure because when i deinstall Taptalck updates, they start work correctly for around 15-40 minutes. After that they just died. After install new launcher (from Gplay) they start to work again. So im pretty sure that, this is software problem... But from MIUI dont care about our problems

I don't know... I'm using exactly the same apps like always , never had that problem ever with any ROM... Last night I flashed Stable 8.0.2.0 , they worked for few minutes and then dead again !
I still think that's an Hardware problem , but I really hope I'm wrong and you're right to be a Software problem..
If was harfwer problem, when we make clean instal, we sshould have the same problem without any reaction of the button...

Yeah.. but my keys today start to work again.. and again stopped 2 times. Now work correctly. I think it's software problem

Exactly same problem for me. Sometimes it start to work ( very rare ) or auto press but I disabled Menu and Home buttons because it's annoying to get out of app because autopress.. Have you tried to flash latest fastboot ROM ? If it's from software that should solve it..
Or this problem its in the kernel of Miui... I dont know, how to check. But i buy new display, and nie im waiting for it. When i change My display will text you

I thought buying new LCD too but it takes too long to deliver and I read some bad reviews about them : not original , dead pixels , crash during transport , etc. I'm thinking buying a new device maybe...
Anyway I'm really curious about your new LCD , so please tell me when it arrive and how it works :fingers-crossed:

I had the same problem. If you are using custom rom, you can activate on screen home button and disable softkeys, this may help for a while.
But it still will make some phantom touch on your screen. Finally I sent to repair and they changed another screen for me
Hello dear friend! I changed my display... And now everything is good. Buttons work properly. And I have good news for you. I just finished with one test: I put the old screen again on the phone and now the buttons work again... I just heating up the display when I was removed the old screen. U can try to heat up your phone on the button of the screen with hairdryer gently. Or just disassembly your phone and assembly again if u have any questions I'm here
@vetefan I already disabled Home and Menu buttons because it was really annoying to always get out of apps suddenly without pressing anything !

Few weeks ago I opened my device to clear dust in front camera and also I cleared everything in it including a bit display stuff ( you can't really clean too much display because it's one piece ). I'll try heating soft buttons with hairdryer and see if it works. One question : this heating solved the problem definitely or just for a temporary period ?
