CM7 screenshot quality - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys I'm sorry I searched google but got a million results for screenshots as you can imagine.
Question, is there ant way to improve the quality if screen shots taken with the native screen shot feature in cm 7. Or an App that would work better for now I tried a few apps but none seem to work :-[
-CM7.1 -B^-N Over Clocked via Faux123 1.45ghz V2.1 THANKS XDA DEV!

The quality seems fine for me, I just took a couple more screens just to be sure. Maybe it has something to do with the app you're viewing them in?
Anyway, there's the Screen Grabber that was developed specifically for the Atrix, if my understanding is correct. I don't know if it was only applicable to Moto based ROMs though. You should be able to find it on the Market or in the Themes and Apps forum here.

Well hmmm It seems when I send the picture as mms it downgrades the quality and comes out a tad bit out if focus but the actual picture itself on my phone is perfect. Sorry for starting a thread on this. If a mod wouldn't mind deleting this I would appreciate it.
-CM7.1 -B^-N Over Clocked via Faux123 1.45ghz V2.1 THANKS XDA DEV!

But that's not a problem of CM7 screenshot. It looks more like the compression of the image by your MMS app. Try using a different app for sending MMS like Go SMS etc.

Mmm
Mine its fine... Do you have lag when you scroll the apps??? i have the kernel who comes with CM7

if it's the sms app, I've noticed that gosms automatically resizes images. I've tried messing around with the settings and my contacts always say the pics come out lower resolution.
I've sent pics with the native app and everything is fine.
sad stuff because I like the customization of gosms.

[Q] MIUI Kernel

Hello everyone, one question. Which MIUI kernel is the most stable and best? As of now I only know 2.
The CM7/MIUI Platypus (which alot of users have been saying is unstable)
and the CM7 Kernel. Which one is better? Thanks.
Platypus works good for me.... cm7 kernel hasn't been updated lately so its probably the more unstable one at the moment

[KERNEL][GSM/CDMA][CM9-BASED] Mjolnir Kernel 7 [DISCONTINUED]

NEW BOOT IMAGE TO COMMEMORATE THE JUMP TO RECOVERY 6!!
Introducing my first foray into the development world: Mjolnir Kernel!
Now before I get too far, let me just say that I am very much a noob still, and I simply followed paxChristos' tutorial on how to build your own kernel from source here.
I now have multiple versions of Mjolnir. You will find below a version for pre-FXP124 and post-FXP124. I know that some of paxChristos' roms are still based on CM9 from before 124, and I didn't want to leave those guys out. You will also see normal and silent versions. For those of you who don't wish to disturb others with your bootsound, I've included you, too. I will always post a version with the bootsound because I like having it.
In addition to multiple versions, I have, regretfully, found it necessary to upload working modules for my newest kernel. I really wanted to make it so that the kernel would take care of it itself, but it's beyond my capabilities to do so. So, in order to have wifi on Mjolnir greater than version 2, you'll need to flash the modules in recovery. To go back to FXP's kernel, you'll need to flash the FXP126 modules in recovery. Again, I'm really sorry I had to do it this way.
What works:
Wifi (Flash Mjolnir Modules)
zram
KSM
Video Playback
Panorama
Face Unlock
bootsound
Anything not mentioned in "Not Working."
Not Working:
proximity sensor
Added Features:
Many governors have been added
I/O Scheduler sio has been added
Many thanks to paxChristos, DooMLoRD, KeiranFTW, FXP, CyanogenMod, Sony, and anyone else that put anything into the kernel sources that I used. I wouldn't have been able to do this without you! At all!
And now for the downloads!
FXP126 and later
Mjolnir Kernel 7
Mjolnir Kernel 7 Silent
Wifi Modules
Mjolnir Modules
Stock FXP
FXP123 and prior
Mjolnir Kernel
Mjolnir Kernel Silent
To make sure there's a marked difference between versions of Mjolnir, FXP123 and prior will always have a "0" before the version number.
And here's a link to the older kernels, in case you want them, I guess. Remember, you won't need the modules before FXP126. (I've included the Special Edition kernel in there in case anyone actually liked it.)
http://www.mediafire.com/?5bgsl886rpl99
If you have problems, let me know, I will try my best to figure out how to fix them. No guarantees on actually being able to fix anything, or if this will get updated that often, but thanks for stopping by anyway! I'll definitely try to stay abreast of FXP's kernel changes.
I suppose I could put my source here, that way if anyone wants to build on what I've done (I don't know why you would), they can!

So hw decoding? Working not working? What I'm really asking is can I watch videos or no?
Sent from my R800x using XDA
No hw decoding, panorama, or video recording. But playback works so we get youtube

So why can't you use the flash zip that fixes video recording? That shouldn't be a kernel problem. Just a rom problem . So really its just panorama that doesn't work?

No the zip doesn't work that good. For me when I flashed the zip it worked for the test but I got nothing after that

That's really weird, cuz I'm on the same nightly and video works for me. Panorama makes my camera force close, but that's it.
Edit: I'm so dumb sometimes. The CDMA mega-fix zip that was recently uploaded in paxChristos' thread has the video recording fix built in. So no, my kernel doesn't fix that, but since it can be fixed by flashing a zip, it's,most likely not kernel related, as started elsewhere.

i only tried the AtrICS rom as an android 4.0+ rom and what i discovered was that the flasher is not timed correctly. It flashes before the pic is taken so the pic is dark though the flasher is on. And the flasher brightness was also low. aren't you having such problems? If not in my opinion best camera app for an ICS or newer rom is camera JB+. i flashed back to mrom because there were many issues, not only camera problems. And now the camera's flasher is timed correctly back again and the flasher brightness is also strong as before. So if you are not using an android 4.0+ ROM i would go for camera ICS+ or Pro capture

oh really? i can't actually make a purchase right now so maybe you can give it a shot :fingers-crossed:
there is a 4.2 modded camera app that must be flashed in CWM, it enables a lot of features not avaible by default in the devices, you should search it in apps and games(or development) in Android General, dude, that is the best camera app i used in my phone, but ya know, opinion is like an a**, each one have its own.
The Leaked ICS camera app is the best I have used, is it possible to port it over to another ROM (CM10)?
Actually I use Wondershare PowerCam it's free, no ads, nice effects, faster startup time and maybe a better picture quality against my paid Camera Zoom Fx!
Now, I'm going to test FxCamera and Cymera
I have tried a few camera apps as well but ultimately settled on camera zoom FX. It takes pretty nice shots without having to surf through a bunch of set up options. but it also has features you might use down the road. I'm more of a point and shoot type person so YMMV.

I'm using the light profile, which as the dev says cause minimum battery drain. and I still haven't experience any considerable impact on battery life. I guess it's fair enough to sacrifice some juice to get more performance. I think you'll agree.
also strangely enough, I get better performance from the light profile than the aggressive ones.
thanks for the info on crossbreeder, would keep an eye on it.
Agreed, i also have it integrated in my aokp rom.Just a few terminal commands activate seeder.

yep, an app offers customization whereas a flashable zip is something like plug-and-play.
but if there is no need for any customization, I think a zip would just do the Job fine.
but it's always great to have freedom for customization. which is why I love Android

It depends, I guess on which rom you use, and other stuff, but if you want better performance over battery life then aggressive profile will do, but if you are more into saving juice then light profile will be useful.
Just play around with the phone with different profiles and see which one is best for you.
IO Queue, My guess; the events that must be handled by the processer are queued before they are actually processed, IO schedulers decide the order which they are sent into the processor. So I guess by extending the IO queue it makes Sheduler decisions more better.
This is as to my own knowledge.
Correct me if I'm wrong '
P.S. - I'm currently not using Extend IO queue option.

[Q] Fastest ROM

Introduction:
Hi everyone! I'm currently running Chip v1.5 with Entropy's kernel on my US YP-G70. It's great, but I'm wondering if there is a faster ROM to use (eg: less CPU use and less resource-consuming background processes). JoyOS seems great but I'm wary of the slow wireless connecting and iOS theme.
What I'm Looking for (MUST):
- fully working camera (taking photos and videos, and not just on fastburst)
- working wi-fi and bluetooth
- GPS compatibility with Gapps (apparently some ROMS - forgot which specifically - have GPS issues)
- Built-in non-stock launcher (as in the stock launcher is removed and some other launcher is installed as the only and default launcher)
- light (low RAM usage, like LewaOS claims 200 MB+ free)
- fast
It Would Be Nice to Have...
- customizable lockscreen built-in (or an option to disable the lockscreen so I can use WidgetLockscreen without excess processes)
- overclocking (don't worry - I won't go crazy and set it above 1.2-ish)
- Samsung bloatware removed
Closing Statement:
Please comment below to suggest me some ROMs that satisfy the above conditions. With the requirement of a working camera and bluetooth, I'm probably looking for a Stock/GB-based ROM. On a last note, I know you devs out there put a lot of work into your ROMs, so I hope I'm not coming off as unappreciative.

Bluetooth works and both cameras work (albeit you can only take pictures with the rear camera using FastBurst). There is also a video fix zip file floating around that will give you video recording functionality.
I wouldn't really call it working when you can take 800x480 "pictures" but always something. 3mpx quality was awfuk too. I have to try that fastburst

as far the the best performing rom u really should stick with stock based roms. that just my advice if you were to update u must realize that you must sacafice a few features but your than also get a ton of new minor ones back i guess it just depends on your own preference.
I'm not looking for jb roms in particular, so gb-in fact, any-roms are fine with me, given they satisfy the criteria, of course
