I already try trick with APN backup and restore , no changes. .
Phone now CSC XEU. before it was 2.3.3 it MOT (unlocked and rooted )and modem BUKG1
any help ,maybe root and some operations with files ?

More info
After change CSC to any other ( code 272 ) and reboot 3g started and no problem with add new APN. After next reboot error return back and no 3g

Hi Filant,
I was having same problem. Getting error on clicking on ADD apn. Would loose APN everytime I switch phone off, and be unable to add APN !! Only solution was a factory reset and not switching phone off...
Phone is galaxy s2. Problem started on updating firmware to 2.3.4.
The solution I found is to go into applications and find app simtoolkit. Force stop this and then go back into your APN settings and it should work. You may need to turn data - Use Packet Data on and off, and possibly manually select the network operator. Have lost track of exactly how these were set.
I guess my problem is that I have a very old SIM card (8yrs plus).
Hope this works for you as well - it was driving me crazy

APN error: process com.android.settings force close
Hi Tino, Hi Filant, I have started to face the same problem (APN error / completely lost 3G data) right after upgrading from 2.3.4. to firmware 2.3.5, the information mentioned on Tino's post was really very helpful, I think i'm half way there to solve the problem.
although I restored my phone to factory settings (that was before reading the post), same problem occurred after the first reboot. the question now, do i have to contact my network operator and change the SIM card as i think it is also quite old, will this help in solving the problem, i'm really bothered, i was having hell of problems with S1 and now hard times with S2, gonna lose my mind, and i would like to know what you have done both to overcome this issue

Apn error
Hi all, I've changed the old SIM card, and I'm no more facing this problem no matter if I restarted the phone or even removed the SIM and put it back. It's all OK now

I'm having this same problem. I can go to mobile networks and when i click on apn it force closes.. It opens up the apn window. (nothing is shown) and after like 3 seconds i get this message - "The application settings (process com.android.setttings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I'm using the samsung rugby smart phone. Unrooted. COMPLETELY STOCK running 2.3.6.. Baseband version I847UCLA4.. Kernal version 2.6.35.7 ... Build number GINGERBREAD.UCLA4... I put it in airplane mode then turn it off. I turn data on then off. I reset phone. I've hard reset. The phone shows the mobile data connection up top (E, 4G, 3G) it shows that and the arrows light up as if its processing but I try to access the web and will not work. Even the apn apps on the play store don't even work. They force close or don't even work. Please help me!!

[Q] Urgent! Data Won't Work on Any Rom, Even Stock!

Hi,
I recently acquired this galaxy S after my HD2 stopped functioning. When I got it, it had Cynaogenmod on it; however, I wanted MIUI. So, I reverted the phone to stock configurations and loaded MIUI on there.
I used the methods posted in this thread and loaded the revamped SS-6 MIUI rom (I tried all the way up to SS-8). I later found that this was an outdated method and used the suggestions made by the rom creator. Both times I loaded the OS successfully. Unfortunately, the data wasn't working. It showed that I was connected and had full bars with 3G or H connection... but all apps that required data still failed to connect.
I always got a message saying "Data connectivity problem: Server failed to communicate. Please try again later." So, I reverted the phone back to stock JFD using ODIN. I still have the data issue -- nothing connects. The bars are still full and the 3G symbol is still there... it just won't work.
The phone info is:
Model Number: SGH-T959
Firmware Version: 2.1-update 1
Baseband Version: T959UVJFD
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: ECLAIR
The "Mobile Network Type" reads "HSDPA" and the "Mobile Network State" reads "connected".
Just to clarify, I can still text and call. I just have no data. Wifi works. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated; I'm completely stumped here. Thanks!
You saw the answer in the other thread, right?
Nope, I've been looking for an answer. Is there a thread that has a solution?
The one titled: "Miui completely ignores Data settings". It's a problem with the latest MIUI.
Check out the second post in the GingerZen thread. Follow the steps and ODIN using Eugene's Froyo That Does Not Brick. It should give you a fresh start. As a bonus, it re-roots your phone in the process. Note: only check re-partition for the second flash.
Awesome! Thanks, I'll try it. So, I just use the PIT file that comes with vibrant AIO?
You could grab the one from s15274n's "Noob Guide" too.
Then save all 3 files on your desktop for the next time you have to ODIN.

Your APN settings are screwed up. You'll need to reset your APN settings. Do not go flashing random software to fix your APN settings.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I followed the steps, but I'm still experiencing the data failure. :-\
I expected that to restore all settings. Google the correct APN settings as suggested. Hope that's it.
(But keep the EFTDNB files handy. They aren't exactly random and will usually get you out of a bind.)
I'm pretty sure I have the correct APN settings. At least, they seem to match what everyone else has posted. I noticed that the arrows around the data symbol (3G or H) only light up on the left side. This to me seems to show that I'm sending data; I'm just not receiving it.
Edit: Solution Found! It was on T-Mobile's end. Apparently, the data package from my HD2 was not compatible with this device. So, they set me up with the "Android equivalent" and "presto!", it works. Thanks for all the assistance!

Please help me!

My friend, thinking he was all smart, decided to root my LG Optimus Black.( P970g )
He them proceeded to install the NOVA rom without asking, and without backing ANYTHING up. :/ so then my phone couldn't connect to my network and was getting an error message every 5-13 seconds " process, com.android.phone is not responding " and so I eventually made it to a place where I could load up a rom off the SD card. so I put, PAYS ROM on it, and now i can't connect to wifi, but i can connect to network. when i go to ( settings > wireless and networks > wifi ) and Hit "ON" it just says "error". can ANYONE please tell me how to fix this or supply me with a factory restore rom? or something? I THINK when i clicked a certain CPU speed in overclocking, it kinda stuck and restarted and had no signal at all... I flashed it again a couple of times even the beta cyanogenmod and dardroidXD, factory reset, wipe data, cache, remove battery. i flashed it with the original firmware with different version but still no avail.. Do you have any idea to solve my problem?

[Q] Who can help me with the APN-lost issue, thanks a lot

Well,my condition is under this:
First,I flashed the original SBF & rooted & unlocked BL & flashed CWM &did a full WIPE,then flashed joker's cm9,the newly build no.0700.
Then rebooted the photon,I've already got a working network &data. After a moment for the phone without any operation, the APN would be lost.Or even I turn the Airplane mode on/off,the APN will gone ,too.
That's annoying.
So I checked it out over the internet, and found a link:
h*t*t*p(sorry for a none URL permission)code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=4234&can=1&q=apn%20lost&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Version%20Model%20Network%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars%20Priority
They encountered the same problem and had already been resolved. So please who can help me with this issue on photon? Thanks a lot.
Sorry for my poor English.
Using a rooted file browser (I use Root Explorer), go to data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases (or it might be labeled 'db') and delete telephony.db. Restart the phone and you should have your APN's back. If you don't, you have a problem with apns-conf.xml.

Hey,I think it should be useful.
Sometimes i shutdown the phone for a while, maybe five minutes or so,to let it shutdown completely. Then power on,the apn usually appears, and network works fine.
The pull-down menu shows that service is "中国联通"。Next time I turn on/off airplane mode, the APN must be lost, and the pull-down menu shows "chn-cugsm",which i've already defined in spn-conf.xml。So I guess there are something wrong with the RF or SIM mechanisms, when the phone wake up from airplane mode,it can't get the really MCC/MNC,and of course the Apn will disappear.
Under this condition, when i make a call for a long time ,the phone will show:"No SIM or SIM card error".But both phone call and SMS work fine.Weird.

[Q] SG3 Data Connection Problem - Please Help

Hi
I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy SIII (Internationl version) it keeps turning off my data connection by itself for no specific reason, I need my data connection to be on all the time(I have an unlimited data connection plan) and I'm talking about the 3g/H connection not the Wifi connection, please find hereunder my trials to solve the problem:
- I installed Omega ROM V3
- Run "FastDormancy Toggle i9300 by gokhanmoral" to disable the FastDormancy
- Run BetterBatteryStats to check for "secril_fd-interface" after disabling it and I didn't find it
- The Data connection still turns itself off !!
Also when the data is off by itself, I checked "*#0011#" and I found that the RRC state is under IDLE state so I tried to send any messages using "Whatsapp" and other chat apps in order to wake the connection up but unfortunately it didn't worked.
Please note that sometimes the data connection icon indicator in the top of the screen is there but it's not working (with no green/orange arrows, just grey)
If I wanted to wake the connection I have to disable the data connection and enable it again, after that everything is working fine till it disabled itself again.
when my connection is up and running with no problems, I checked "*#0011#" and I found my RRC state switching between "DCH and IDLE" ONLY, does this means anything?
Then I wiped my phone and:
- I tried CyanogenMod 10 ROM
Did all of the above again and it didn't worked
-I tried CodecROM
Did all of the above again and it didn't worked
now I un-rooted my device and installed the stock 4.1.1 ROM and I have the same problem
Please HELP
BTW my network provider does not support the FD as I called them many times and they don't even know what I'm talking about.
My device specs:
Model Number GT-I9300
Android version 4.1.1
BB I9300XXDLID
Try this...
i have not encountered this problem you should try restoring/ formatting your device to stock Samsung FW.
Thanks beastify, but I just did that as I mentioned in my question and I still have the same issue

Maybe try not using Jelly Bean (4.1.1) and you should try a Custom Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4) ROM or then the Stock Samsung Rom.
Jelly Bean still has bugs so i am guessing it is the problem.
It could be a problem with your network provider also. Why don't you put sim card from a different carrier and check ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 with a BIG
Beastify, I tried IceCream Sandwich but with no luck also
jaidev.s, this is a good idea but not recommended for me as I'm a customer with my carrier from a very long time ago and I have a VIP treatment, but I can give it a try, thanks for your help
