(Probably Leak) olleh Rom, build 19597
http://www.mediafire.com/?5m8l19t8hijjz97

Is that an OFFICIAL release (for example an over the air update)?
Or did you get it from this thread before the DL link was gone?
Edit: just noticed the "probably leak" notation. Where did you get this from?

Customer Service in Korea had carried out only for a while to offline upgrade.
(Currently in the atmosphere due to a bug that occurs rebooted stop deployment)
At that time, someone else's micro sd card already has files in it I'd heard there was.

Thanx! will try it out.

I get a package signature error

What build are you on now? If it is not an earlier build from the same region then the recovery on your phone won't let you install it.

ah ok, I figured out as much. I installed olleh 302 on my phone last might to try that option. I'll let you guys know how it goes. thanx!

ok finally succeeded in installing gb. I had to flash recovery from 319 in the wiki page, then update to 319 then update to gb. wooohooo!
edit: wow.. it is much snappier. faster than 2.2! I love the gb gui! in the process of rooting it now

post some screen shots. The AWS won't work for me as I am on ATT. But good to know there is a build our there. Hopefully, it is a matter of time that Dell will have a retail version out.

I take it you tried GingerBreak as well? The link: http://rootandroid.net/how-to-install-and-use-gingerbreak-apk/

Hi,
I am new to the forums and I am very excited by the GB availability for the Dell Venue. I have an unlocked venue which I got from Malaysia. Would this release work with me?
Also I am still an Android noob since this is my first Android. If it is safe and possible, I would highly appreciate a step by step guide to upgrade to 2.3.

I'm quite happy with the upgrade. It is faster running rom. My only problem is rooting it.

no. the the update pkg all you have to do is place on the sd card, flip the sound button to mute, shut down, power up then boot into recovery by pressing both up and down volume keys at the dell logo start up.In recovery you will see option for update.pkg choose that by pressing camera button and voila.

Link to Droid Eris OTA MR4 download

Here is the official MR4 update Verizon released for the Eris. This is for the people who haven't got the update yet and can't wait. And for the people who don't know how to install it (like myself).
Click to Download
Instructions:
1.) Move it to the root folder of your SD card.
2.) Rename it "update.zip"
3.) Turn your phone off
4.) Turn it back on by pressing "Vol-Up & End/Power" until the phone starts.
5.) Wait 15 seconds -- Then press "Vol-Up & End/Power again"
6.) You should get a short menu, one entry of which will say something about "sdcard:update.zip"; choose that.
This update is keyed to only specific releases, namely leak-V3 and OTA2.1. It will abort on 1.5, leaks V1 & V2, and the original root-ROM.
Credit goes to Eris User
So I know this has been asked before, but I figure this is a safe place to ask again...
This is basically just a radio update, no? If it's more than that, what else is it? I'm wondering if I should put it on my wife's phone to cure some of the bugs that she's always complaining about.

New radio, new kernel, updated (Java) framework components, update HTC Sense apps - lots of fixes.
Here is a XDA post which details what gets patched or updated in the (July 2010) OTA
Probably a lot of minor bugfixes for things that lots of people never experience.

Ok I go the update this morning via OTA and tried to install it & It came back with a ! inside a triangle Failed. I am Root only still running stock rom but have the updated over clock kernel. Is this my problem as to why it wont update? Also can I manually install it and then just have to re push SU? Or will it take root out and I just have to re-root?
Or should I not even worry about it and just run another rom?
Is there a new link to this?
Has someone uploaded this to a different location?
Google isn't finding it for me on any forums.
I am having the same issue. Can someone upload this to the git hub site? I am trying to return my eris and get a new one

[Q] Please help with clear step-by-step: ClockWorkMod

I must be dumb, stupid, or something ... Now I want to frakking bang my head on the wall
For the life of me, I cannot boot back into ClockWorkMod to install the latest DJ_Steve ROM. I previously was able to flash my Streak, but now I can't anymore. Granted, I don't play with my Streak as much as with my Captivate, but still, I should remember how to do this.
Here is what I do:
I open CWM
I click on Flash CWM Recovery
I wait for the "success" message
Then I click on Reboot into Recovery
Nothing happens... I power down and boot back normally
I've also tried this:
I open CWM
I click on Flash CWM Recovery
I wait for the "success" message
Then I click on "Install ROM from SD Card"
I navigate and choose my update.zip file; click Yes, Yes, etc.
Nothing happens. I power down and boot back normally

AAARRRRRGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I've tried the above by holding, after step 4, the Power and Camera buttons, the Power and Volume Up/Down button, Power and Vol. Down, Power and Vol. Up, etc. You get the idea ...
I either end up into the white menu for Fastboot, or end up into (what I think is) the stock recovery. There I choose "Install Update from SD Card" and then the phone waits forever at the "Detect SD" menu.
What is it that I should do? can someone please either shoot me or post some kind of detailed step-by-step, as if explained to a five year old
Thanks in advance!

I actually never could get ClockWorkMod to work on my streak no matter which version I picked. I got just as frustrated as you as I followed all of the given instructions and could never boot into CWM.
My suggestion (and the workaround I used) was to use fastboot and install StreakMod in the development section. It works 100% of the time for me and without any headaches.
With cwm I couldn't make a nandroid. Streakmod is the way to go.

My problem is, I run Windows as a VM inside a Mac (using Fusion) so I tried installing the Fastboot drivers and the rest, but I can't make it work reliably. It's like the drivers don't like being in a VM or something, each time I want to communicate with the Streak I have to reinstall everything.
So I tried installing StreakMod, and that also failed. Is there, somewhere in a post, the exact way to install StreakMod? Maybe I can make it work on someone else's PC...
I thoght there was a fastboot for MAC. If so, can you use it to push the recovery?

The android sdk has a version of fastboot I believe.
Edit: I DLed the mac version and do not see fastboot there. I found a mac version on this page, but I have no idea if it will work with the Streak.

[Q] [Help] New update

Im trying to update to a new 2.2.2 update that bell just released for canadian users.
I download it, I press install, it reboots my phone into android recovery.
It begins to install the update, then it shows me this:

Installation Aborted.
Can anyone help? Its really frustrating not being able to update.
My phone was rooted, deodexed, and I flashed a few .zip's to it. I factory reset it before I attempted to do this update.
HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

It means your phone is rooted and you need to do an SBF flash
Pretty sure that is the recovery screen. If I remember correctly if you touch above the search button it should take you into the recovery menu

He's talking about the update from Bell that came out today. Its similar to the 4.1.83 update from At&t
Sorry guys its the 2.2.2 update released for bell atrices (in canada)
There is no menu unfortunately.
It looks like the bottom portion of this image, there is no menu.
Try pressing the bottom left and right corners, should bring up that screen.
Cheers!
Since it's 43MB is size, I am guessing glad root or my util should be able to preserver root using frozenfish in /osh/sbin.
Downloading it now, Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.zip in /cache, I'll upload it to my dropbox for folks when it's done.
Cheers!
How can those who have flashed 2.1.1 get this update?
You would need stock Bell firmware for an update to apply I would think. Probably not much different that what you have anyway, I'll see if I can nab the radio from it though.

Thanks so much. That brought up the screen.
However, my update failed. I'll post the exact error or PM you if I can't figure it out for myself.
Will that update be flashable via CWM? And where can I find your dropbox.

I'll post when I get it done.
Here you go:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23800522/Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.crc
/cache/recovery/command = --update_package=CACHE:Blur_Version.0.37.4.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA.zip
Frozenfish works to get root access again, in fact your su and shsu binaries stay in the system folder, all you have to do is chmod 06755 /system/bin/shsu etc.
Cheers!

Well, if you are using a Bell Atrix in Canada and it's working right, then why not? How is unknown to me right now, the files are in the zip, might be able to do a swap in an sbf, not sure.
Just got 1850 in a speed test for upload indoors, fastest I've had yet, previous was ~1780, that could be a good reason.
Cheers!

I had the same error, I odexed my system and copied the zip and crc back to cache, and did the update again, it asked me if I wanted to install it, and as it was doing that I grabbed the command file from /cache/recovery and put it on my sdcard. So really, all you need to do is have those 3 files in /cache and reboot into android recovery and you should be good to go.
I am thinking that it's the patch files that need to have the original files in order to work.
Cheers!

Need for speed in 3D is pretty good!. Controls are different but you get use to it. There are different 3D settings too, though no 3D slider.
You can select in car. Out of car "depth" and out of far "pop up" 3D. Very nice touch. Runs well too.

Is it just me imagining things, or has the update made the phone a little faster and more smooth? That's the only difference I've noted besides the games and an updated market. (3.1.5)
Now the bad news... The bootloader has been updated to 49.00018 and when I tried rooting it with Revolutionary, it wasn't compatible with that version.
So hopefully they'll update revolutionary soon. I'll try rooting it with HTCs unlocker tonight, and will report back...

[Q]7840 freezes at tethered cwm and now bricked [Solved]

I tried to root my 7840 with 5.1 using @social-design-concepts tethered CMW and after flashed supersu, I accidentally selected "wide cache partition" and the device freezed there for a long time. I had to hold the power button to reboot. But the device cannot root into the system, it stuck at "intel inside" logo.
I'm wondering what happened and what should I do now to unbrick my device now.
I appreciate if someone could help me with a solution.
Update (8/13):
Followed @xBIGREDDx 's link, I found the dell official developer flash files. And flashed flash_DDO_BB.xml to unbrick and format the correct partition (correct me if I said wrong). Then use @social-design-concepts 's tethered CWM to flash 5.1 update.zip file (put the zip in external SdCard) uploaded by @xBIGREDDx. And the device gets back to fully functional with fresh installed 5.1 LP
Oh...latest @social-design-concepts root method works with Android 5.1 without downgrading Bootloader?

BIGREDD,
Thanks for your tips. I unbricked my device but it was actually much easier than I though. I flashed DDO_BB.xml, and then in tethered CWM flashed 5.1 update.zip. That turns the dead device back to functional. Of course I flashed your files to root.
My notice is 5.1 consumes much more ram than 5.0. At 5.0 after boot, I got ~1G free memory. But now I only have ~500MB. Is it normal?

For now, try these steps. You'll have to go back a bit in the thread there to find links to the system.img
I'm working on a better un-brick solution but for now that's the best we've got.

hi,I'm having the same device and recently I installed gravitybox or some app of that kind and it offered an option to install xposed framework.I was skeptical if my device was compatible but did it anyway.Next it went into a bootloop at the intel logo and has been there ever since.my present condition is,I can get into fastboot menu but cannot install the xposed uninstaller.zip since the sd card is not recognised anymore.I tried to adb sideload it but only errors follow.I understand this device has a temporary recovery and right now there is no custom recovery installed I guess(?).I am new to android so kindly help me get the device to function again.thanks.
