Can we expect sense 3.5 on the amaze officially. - HTC Amaze 4G

Anyone know when Sense 3.5 will come out for this phone? I'm actually surprised it doesn't have it at launch.

I dout we ever see a sense version update... Its not impossible just unlikely very few devices has ever gotten updated sense. If we do see in update it will be to 2.3.5 or 4.0...
How soon as root is 100% and we have a recovery me and JoelZ will be porting it...
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium

If you use HTCDev , you don't need root only recovery which will be worked on within a few days that way once you get recovery all you need to do is flash the ROM & start working & could you be working w/ the sensation 3.5 since it has version from Sensation XE w/ Beat's ?

Why do you say that? Why wouldnt HTC update one of their latest phones? The HTC Sensation XL has 3.5 and that phone is only using a single core processor.

We prob won't be recieving OTA sense 3.5 , prob a port though .

Hi I was just wondering if HTC plan on releasing sense 3.5 on our amaze considering they just release the HTC sensation xl with it in the uk. It's seems like everytime I buy a phone with sense theres a new sense out right afterwards, makes no sense to me. I hope HTC doesnt pull what they did with the HTC thunderbolt by releasing the phone with sense 2.5 instead of 3.0 than telling us that it couldn't run on the thunderbolt because of low specs bull ****. Because am running sense 3.0 on my hd2 and thunderbolt smoothly. Besides am more than reassured that amaze can run it because we have dual cores 1.5 ghz cpu and 1gb of ram while sensation has single core 1.5 CPU and 768 ram. I guess it's a matter of if and when HTC is willing to release it to us. After HTC and Verizon screwed me with thunderbolt I wouldn't be surprise if they gave us some bull**** excuse to upgrade our phone to a new model especially with ice cream sandwich on the way. What do you guys think?

even if they dont release it, it'll get ported eventually. plus htc said that they were thinking about ics too (engadget). and even if they dont, theres still Cyanogenmod to look forward too, on top of our amazing devs. the phone is still pretty new, and with time it'll be an incredible piece of hardware.
btw the sensation is dual core 1.2ghz

I think he was talking about the sensation xe. That's single core but its at 1.5Ghz

Actually I was talking about the android sensation xl Google It, just came out with the windows phone HTC titan.there's three sensations out now don't know why HTC is releasing same phone with little spec bumps.
The sensation 1.2 dual core 768 ram, sensation xe 1.5 dual core 768 ram, sensation xl 1.5 single core 768 ram.

Even though HTC is getting better with updates I doubt you'll see Sense 3.5.
ROMs are the way to go anyway :3

I think they'll pass on it.

I doubt we will see 3.5 on this device without root, maybe with ics though

Hopefully with the ice cream sandwich which with the specs if this phone should be expecting they'll throw in sense 3.5 or 4.0. Yea one can dream.

Everything sounds badass about the evo 3d
I want to say the CPU's. Personally I like HTC Sense, but even with the current Evo and a custom ROM Sense needs a little more power than the current Evo can deliver. I want HTC Sense to run as smooth as AOSP does on my Evo 4G So far I have found no ROM/Kernel that can make this happen on my Evo, though the little bit of lag I do see is nothing compared to my old HeroC, LOL.
Sense UI period........ if anyone buy this phone and ***** why can't it be AOSP can stick it up your arse. Go buy LGX2 or SamSux. HTC = Sense UI.

The new sense looks pretty bad ass and the 3d is a nice touch, but its for that third gen Snapdragon and the Adrino 220.
The screen...I really don't care for the 3d stuff. I do not have any experience with 3d products..this I have to see personally. I am disappointed we take a hit on the camera from 8 megapixel down to 5. What good is a camera with a better screen but lower density camera. Many people say the human eye cannot tell the difference from a 8 vs. 5 megapixel picture....my experience tells me otherwise.

I used one today
I didn't like the plastic build quality and it was very laggy.
The screen is superb though.
The XE is exactly the same as the regular Sensation except for a few cosmetic changes, beats audio and a 1.5GHz dual core CPU.
The XL has beats and a 4.7" screen but has only a 1.5GHz CPU.
I have noticed zero lag with my XL. It is brilliant

Don't see the 1.2 to 1.5 ghz difference in sensation xe devices from the galaxy nexus
That small amount doesn't matter and my suggestion is Galaxy nexus as it will be supported by the latest software updates like the next android platform after ICS and the hardware is also good
Oh and the main point is u will only have 200mb ram in sensation xe coz of HTC sense eats 500 mb ram
and it will be atleast 3 times more RAM in Galaxy Nexus
And i feel Galaxy Nexus so stylish its unique no other phone is without buttons

GPU isn't as good on galaxy nexus though and is running at a higher resolution so it'll get taxed easier.
Its really a tough call, they all have their good points.
Plus you can easily root and flash custom roms so what they come with doesn't matter.

Sensation getting Sense 4 "Lite" What's this mean for the Amaze?

“HTC Sense brings a variety of new software enhancements to HTC One, some of which utilize the latest hardware innovations, meaning not all functionality can be introduced to older HTC Devices. Could this mean that the amaze line could get a similar version. At first I thought no way in hell htc would give a old device of Sense 4 even if it is lite, then again lite could mean dry as grandmas meatloaf. Comments Thoughts?

I'm not too concerned, sense has a long way to go to compete with go launcher!
dont think so, firstly, we have a 1.5 Ghz S3 processor vs the 1.2 Ghz S2 Processor on the sensation and we also have 1GB Ram as oposed to 768 Ram on the Sensation. I think our phones should be able to handle it
That would be awesome if we got that version, but by the time that rolls out I'm pretty sure we will have a stable sense 4.0 rom if devs pick up on it lol

firstly, the S2 is a single core processor which is inside the inspire. we have the exact same processor and gpu that is inside the sensation just slightly overclocked.

i hope the sense 4,0 gets on the amaze. no reason why it wouldnt. that phone can take it
i believe it will be a reduced version of sense 4 as we do not carry the proprietary image sensor from the one series, and probably with decreased functionality in media sharing as well.
though i'd be surprised if it was vastly different from stock sense 4.0
All I know is I hope it don't worsen the battery life! I mean I seem to get better than most with 12-15 hours of decent usage, but definitely don't want to see that go down.

[Q] Amaze or Sensation - What's YOUR advice?

Not sure which to get. Any difference? Same processor, is it not (sensation can be OC'd to 1.5 as i understand), same display..... What gives
Thanks!
Amaze processor 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3 dual core vs Sensation processor 1.2 GHz Snapdragon dual core
Amaze RAM 1GB vs Sensation RAM 768MB
Amaze storage internal included 16GB vs Sensation storage 8GB
Amaze camera 2Megapixel front camera vs Sensation VGA front camera
Amaze extra camera features like Snapshot etc vs Sensation (doesn't have)
Amaze 1080p video vs Sensation 1080p (same)
Amaze battery 1730 mAh vs Sensation 1520 mAh
Amaze 4G able to connect up to 42mbps vs Sensation 4G able to connect up to 14mbps

Technically, if your installing a custom Rom the only different between the two phones are the ram.
Since the sensation can be clocked to 1.8ish, you can buy a bigger battery, you can port the amazes camera software.
The amaze will be a lot smoother over all though, since it does have more ram.
I would get an Amaze, there is no point in having a million roms, you only need a few good ones.

but the RAM (extra 256) really makes that much of a diff? because by looking at the beginning of your comment, i was sure U R going to say - get the sensation. Then U mentioned the RAM as the decisive factor.
With the custom ROM, I'm pretty sure the Sensation will be just as smooth (if not smoother) as the Amaze
256mb will make quite a big difference, the stock sensation Rom is a lot more laggy than the stock amaze Rom is, and they're practically the same thing. If not less "stuff" on the sensation.
So unless you can't handle not flashing a Rom every day, get the amaze.
Even with underclocking to 1.2ghz my phone is still smooth, and you get the battery life of the sensation.
Now of course, everyone here will be biased towards the amaze. And if you ask the sensation people they'd probably say the sensation.
It all comes down to your personal taste, I was in the same position as you. But I chose the Amaze, and I don't regret it at all.
If you can, go into a T-Mobile store and test them out.

There will ALWAYS be a better shiny on the horizon. Of course HTC is going to build a successor to the ONE. Like others have said, a new device before a year is up would be foolish of them to do again.

You are so right, the 600 is a terrible, terrible processor. I can't even believe HTC put that piece of junk in the One.
