Had my Mini Pro for only 4 hours and the digitizer has smashed already! - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I received my mini pro today at 2pm (GMT) and at 6pm (GMT) I dropped the mini pro and the charger onto the bed lightly, about 2 inches away from the bed. The charger merely banged against the screen and the digitizer is now smashed, as pictured. I did receive one a couple of weeks ago, but it wouldnt switch on, so I sent it back, received a new one, and now this. I don't think I will be buying a Sony Ericsson again, as this is my 3rd phone with them that has had problems.

I've had a HTC Desire HD for over a year now, and it's still in fantastic condition, not even a tiny mark on the screen or the phone itself.
Where is the cheapest place to buy a new digitizer, preferably not from Asia.

Holy ish... Thats unfortunate. Ive accidentally dropped my phone from 2-3 meters height onto concrete and it barely scratched.

I dropped my phone like a meter off the ground and still no scratches.

Never had problems like that not on my mini pro neither with the old mini pro. You're really unlucky.

I accidentally dropped my Mini Pro (actually I forgot I had left it there) from the table surface onto solid ground and it still works fine.

Because this phone fairly new you wont find digitizers. Why dont you pay for repair ?

Or just get a friend with a household insurance and tell them he dropped the phone. They'll pay for it

Sony Ericsson seen the image above on my twitter, they then sent me a DM telling me to send it back and they'll send me another one. They really didn't have to do that, very grateful. Hopefully this new one will have no problems lol

Portion of LCD screen dead, again...anyone else with this problem? [pic inside]

Sounds weird, but this is the 2nd ATRIX I've received and within 4 months, a portion of the LCD screen just...dies. not dropped or water damaged either. Also with both phones it was the SAME part of the screen...and almost exactly 4 months apart...odd.

As you can see, that strip doesn't recognize contact, in either portrait or landscape. Anyone else experience this flaw?
Yup. But mine was at the top. I sent it in for warranty and got it fixed.

I've also got the same problem, except the dead portion of the screen is the exact part where the first notification in the notification bar is.
Any ideas?

Digitizer. The weakest part of that phone. If its in warranty, you're lucky. If not, search around for a replacement.

I just bought my second digitizer. (first one was not oem and worked but it didnt have minor details like tint where the sensors are.) My original one went dead, the second one i dropped the phone and it started going bad. Here is a link to an oem one from amazon. It should get here by monday so I will update you on the condition of it. I would NOT recommend going for a cheaper non-oem version.

EDIT: I got the digitizer... and broke the ribbon cable lol. It was in perfect condition though and the company issued me an RMA so im getting another. I am sure that it worked fine. Seems like a great company (i got it from seller1on1) I have bought from them before, i cant say anything about how good the other companies are.

HTC DNA with Cracked Screen [FS]

I know that swappa.com is used to sell phones, but I see I am not able to list phones that have a cracked screen.
Wanted to put it on XDA first, to see if anyone is interested for the phone with original box, 2 OEM Chargers and a diztronic matte black TPU case for $215 buyer pays whatever shipping they want. If not I will end up putting it on ebay.
This phone is unlocked, rooted, and S-OFF'd and currently running CM 10.1 23May2013 build.
See pictures. (NOTE: in one of the bootloader pictures I circled in blue where there is another crack, but not showing up)
Phone is still fully functional with the cracked screen.
If you have any questions please let me know/PM me.

I hear ya on that one. I have had numerous phones before and never cracked the screen. Since I had the DNA I have done it multiple times!

Would this be covered by warranty?

So I were thinking of sending this to the Sony repair center. It's basically a small line of lost pixels.
I'm just looking for people's opinion before sending it because the sonymobile contact room was no help at all.
So whatdyu think would Sony repair this for free or will I be charged? And if I am will it be costly or cheap?
I remember my brother sending in a sony Xperia play in with a completely cracked screen and they replaired it for free.
Its hardly noticible only on a black screen its seeable.
Edit:
Thought I'd add A photo with the screen off so you know it's not a scratch.

In my option it should be covered by the repair. Its not like you can kill pixels your self so if it is not your fault its under warranty
Thanks
It's worth a try I guess. My biggest worry is going 2 weeks without my z2. I don't know how I'll live.

The repair process for me was painless, I logged in to the Xperia Care portal and asked for a repair, then sent the device to them which they confirmed by email they had received, then waited about a week for them to send me a replacement unit. I think they would have sent me one sooner but they emailed me to say there was a delay due to parts.
I can definitely recommend the service,
Mine was faulty because it won't charge from the magnetic points so I sent the phone and Dock to them, they returned a new phone, Dock, USB Charger cable and plug so did OK
I guess the only problem you might have is if they don't deem it to be faulty
Good luck
Si

I sent in my Z2 for repair for two weeks. It was unbearable and the fault is still here. I don't really want to send it back because I bet they won't fix it. The problem was that the magnet port was/is loose. they put it back in but as soon as I start using it it becomes loose. So I just stopped using it. It's not waterproof anymore though. Really annoying.
Yeah it's strange though when my xperia tablet s was in need of repair they sent someone to pick it up and it was repaired in 2days.
These sonymobile guys take way too long and its mainly down to the postage.
Not sure I agree, I sent mine for next day delivery and they returned for next delivery....with the repair time in the middle. Maybe a week all in

Display messed up.

Just took the phone out of my pocket, and the screen looks like the attached.
What's going on. Phone and touch screen still work fine.

This doesn't show what I see. I'll have to take a picture with another device.
Here's a photo. The entire display is messed up, particularly the Upper right. Tried powering down. No luck.
Your screen is broken. Sorry to make fun but lol at you trying to screenshot a broken screen, haha.
Hopefully you're still within 6 months as HTC replaces for free if I'm not mistaken

Isn't the HTC Advantage only for cracked screens? If it is I see a date with a hammer in your future.
Let us know what they say and I hope it works out for you. It appears that the LCD connection has come loose. Have you dropped your phone lately?
No. No drops, jarring, or anything. Screen is not cracked or damaged in any way, and touch works fine. I'm using it now.

Honestly, I can't recall anything I did that would have caused this, so I'm a little puzzled. Anyway, I'm shipping it back to HTC under warranty. Should only cost me $19.
Good to hear. Happened on a phone I had once. Likely pushed up against it when it was in your pocket and never realized it.

FYI, replacement device is on the way back to me from HTC with no hassle. I returned my original device to stock, factory reset, and re-locked the bootloader before I shipped it back, but left it S-Off.
Well, I received the replacement device today and it doesn't vibrate. Looks like I'll be shipping this one back too. Don't they check these things before they send them out?? I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

Same problem for me
I had the same issue with my old one and got it replaced. Did you get it wet by chance?
Oh my gosh! I was just reading through XDA after finally getting my replacement watch and came across this thread.
I purchased a Moto 360 gen 2 for Christmas and in January, my display also did this. I had a tempered glass screen protector on it, and the screen was never hit hard. Also, the only time the watch got wet was occasionally while washing my hands. One day while at work, I looked at my watch and noticed the display all weird. It looked like food coloring drops in water. It was very strange because that morning, it worked perfectly fine!
I sent the watch in under warranty, and it took Motorola a whole month to do anything about it. After calling them up in February, they finally gave me voucher code to make a replacement (mine was made via Moto Maker btw). Alas, the bezel was out of stock, so I had to wait until late March to finally get my replacement with the exact same design as the on that broke. And yet, after all that, I still had to pay $20 for some reason. The Moto rep I called said they'd refund me since it should've been an even exchange, but they have yet to do anything. (Their customer support is HORRIBLE).
I'm just interested to see that other people have had the exact same issue as me.
Edit: Does anyone know what causes this issue? Bad display? Bad waterproof seal?
Mine didn't necessarily go bad after a night's charge. As I said, it was working up until like 3 hours later.
