Cyanogenmod Barebones V4 - Droid 2 Global Android Development

Note: This rom needs to be updated to more recent files, I plan on doing it in the next week or so. It is plenty usable though (No GSM support though)
I am releasing my first barebones for the D2G. It is based off Revnumber's nightlies. This build requires you to be on any GB D2G rom.
Updates Between 1 to 4
Switched to GB kernel
Increased battery life via changes to CM as well as the switch the GB kernel.
Much faster!
Build is much smaller in size too (Download is 77 MB)
EGL and Bluetooth are fixed
Added keymap fix to fix certain keyboard and lockscreen issues
Any other additions inside CM between 08/02 to 08/30
Camera zoom is a none bug along with possible DSP issues (Camera zoom works if you enable zoom from volume buttons)
I have removed:
From Bin/Xbin folders
IRSSI, VIM, and TCPDUMP
From Fonts
I removed the CM one for Chineese (unless Droid fallback has some support)
arabic support. (The reason is not out of hate, but because I have seen these rarely used and they added 4MB to the build size)
From Apps
All CM themes (Left theme support in though so you can add what you want or download them, I use synergy personally)
Stock MMS, Email, Calander and Calculator (Left provider apk's in so you can use replacements or add back in and have it work fine)
Download UI
a few other apk's I can't remember.
From Lib's
Removed SwypeCore
Added auto odex support to /data/
Updated to Go Launcher EX 2.39
Removed from Gapps
G Books , G Talk, Quicksearch, Setup Wizard, LatinIME tutorial.
Changed Market to newest Market available.
All thanks go to Revnumbers, x13thangelx, Gasai Yuno, Asphyx and the rest of the developers for CM4D2G!
I HIGHLY recomend using all the GO apps and widgets as replacements for removed features. For email I use K9 email. All removed features are able to be added back in with other apps or by adding them from Rev's official build. This is meant to be the minimum for people to add specifically what they want.
Download for Release 4

Gapps barebones (Mainly for Market) Note: These did not update because latest gapps package is causing bootloops for me for some reason.

Also, please donate if you think my ports have made your phone a better device! Not asking out of greed but because I have spent so much time on my roms (quite literally if I quantified it, I would have almost a months worth of workdays in it)

Both links are broken, can you please update? I am having issues with CM7 and would like to try out this port/rom. Thank you.

Crap, Copy pasting straight from rootzwiki truncated the links. I will fix them sometime tomorrow.

Can you tether on this rom? I know that verizon's "built in app" is well build into the OS but i have a feeling if someone does enough digging they can find a way to block it from alway taking control of tethering.

any word on the new links?
I would like to try this out.

Is it possible to add the code lines related to gsm from bikedude's cm9 and make gsm voice and data work on this rom?

[ROM] eViL NXSOne Desire v.1.05 Barebone [5/29/10]

Big thanks to Paul @ modaco and the XDA community.
This is a Desire (2.1 with Sense) for Nexus ROM. It is what I call barebones since I have removed most of HTC's bloat, ie Sense UI & Widgets. Why bother with the ROM then? Well, there are A few reasons I like the Desire ROM. A few being the copy/paste functionality, browser & social integration. It's a fast ROM with tons of RAM & memory to install apps. lol Agreed

lols the reason he posted this early is because he wanted to hype himself up.
Hypeing something like this is a total drizzy / king move. And we all know how "great" those roms were. Trust me this rom won't blow you away.
And he wanted to hype everyone else up... I've always liked evil's hero roms for the mytouch. Can't wait to see what's in store. I bet it's gonna be off of froyo.

Actually, eViL's roms were always awesome on the MyTouch. One of the few devs we had before everybody started making them compatible on the G1 and MyTouch. You can't compare him to King. . . well. . . you can, but it wouldn't be a decent comparison as eViL puts out original products.
Wow, you guys are impatient. With people like this, it's a wonder why XDA exists.

I don't think we're impatient, we're just confused why you made a thread with nothing in it. You could have just waited until everything was ready to go to post the thread. It's not like there are only a limited amount of them available and they are going to run out...
I probably won't flash this rom, but at the very least, I found out that there is a battery percentage mod for desire roms. For this, I thank you.
Thanks
Lookin forward to the Rom EvilD:\ . Thanks for the heads up.

It's not in this build. I'll put it in next release.
OT: You still a mod at DM?
I dont get people some times, give the guy a chance. Its not like you all have a bazillion roms to choose from and its cluttering up the pages of roms you're trying to choose from. I for one am glad another person has decided to try his hand at a nexus rom and if you would like to see more of them I would suggest a little more courtesy to the people that bring them to you.

Updated Kernel Tuner and UCCW to latest versions
2.4.13 (contains changes from 1.29.13):
Added Aroma installer. All "custom" options now install as designed.
Not sure if I mentioned it last week, but I updated the MIUIHome's default layout to take "Talk" out of that stupid "recommended" folder and just put it on the desktop. Also took and put "themes" and "settings" into the "tools" folder on the main page and changed the layout so that they're all in the same row. In the future, I plan on switching the MIUI search widget with the google one...just haven't gotten there yet.
Coolspace Deluxe theme is included by default, but not installed. Updated to 2.1 to fix various issues with missing app themes and framework-res 9pings being screwed. Installer will copy it to /SDCard, where you can then import it from Theme manager.
MIUI 2x4 Widget is included as an .apk...not 100pct if it will show up properly if UCCW has been installed before. Please test and let me know.
Moved Gmail, Maps, Kernel Tuner, Gamecenter, MiuiVideo, and Goo.im to the "optional" category as well, and set their install location to /data/app instead of /system/app to allow for removal if desired.
Wipe menu - for future use, you can choose to leave data sections untouched and do a dirty flash.
Added 9S weather, 2 different FLV players, TrevE's wifi tether app, Playstation certification, and Online Nandroid backup app as optional installs (in addition to others mentioned).
Updated to 3.3 MAC kernel.
Fixed boot animation sometimes causes OOM issues due to size by deleting half the frames used.
Modified goo setting in build.prop to hopefully fix the issue where it always shows an old update in current.
Attempted MMS fix for Virgin users may/may not work - will be fixed "fo sho" next week.

How to report a bug the right way
Allright...
Been getting a lot of bug reports lately, and the vast majority of them don't have any kind of system information included whatsoever. People just blurt out stuff like "Camera ain't workin'", and expect me to go "Oooooooh. Your camera don't work. Please, allow me to customize you a script to fix it based on that thorough explanation of the issues."
To be fair, there are some issues that may be simple to replicate and don't require a lot of information to track down. Stuff like "This program is missing" or "the cap button backlights misbehave from time to time".
For all the other stuff...there is a right way and a wrong way to ask for help.
The wrong way involves complaining about the issue while providing as little info as possible. Degrading the ROM itself is a nice touch. You know, like "This POS won't boot."
That, my friends, will get you one reply...which will be me telling you you'd probably be better off using a ROM that doesn't require common sense to run.
The RIGHT way to ask for help involves the following:
1. Provide as much information about your system as possible. This includes, but is not limited to, the following pieces of information:
a. What Hboot version you are using.
b. Your S-off status.
c. What recovery you're using.
d. What firmware you're using.
e. A detailed description of the issue. When it happens, the frequency, anything that you do that causes it to happen...tell me what I need to do to make it happen on my phone.
Additionally, for issues related to hardware (camera, data, screen, wifi) - and hell, for any issue, it is more often than not a good idea to include a logcat.
A logcat is like a system log...it runs as soon as your phone starts up, and it tells me when something goes wrong so I can try to figure out why. A logcat will make the difference between me yelling at you, and me being very grateful for your thoughtful and well-constructed request for assistance.
Now, for some odd reason, it seems that every time I ask someone for a logcat, they make a face like this at me, , and then vanish off the face of the planet.
Contrary to what you may think...bugs bother me. A lot. The majority of nights end with me lying in bed thinking about the first thing I'm going to attempt to fix tomorrow.
SO, when you post saying something doesn't work, and then I say "get me a logcat, please", and you switch to a Sense ROM and don't look back...it helps nobody.
With all that said...below is a link to some very simple instructions for how to install Android SDK and do a logcat. It's pretty damned simple. If you can follow instructions for flashing a ROM, then you should be able to do this.
http://www.shahz.net/android/adb-installation-and-how-to-logcat.html
If THAT is too daunting for you, then the next step would be to get Alogcat from the market.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat&hl=en
Alogcat is even easier. Something crappy happens...you open alogcat, save the output, and send it to me.
Can we do that? Please? I'm so tired of asking for a logcat around every turn. Help me help you.
Cool, thanks! I'm DL'ing now. Quick question: What is the default kernel for this rom? I plan on flashing Chad's, but was just curious. Also, I have a feature suggestion: for the default MIUI launcher, would there be any way to add a 5th row? I know there was a mod on XDA for this a while back, but it became incompatible months ago.
Anyway, thanks for the hard work. I'm especially excited to try out the VC control script on this, that was a great idea.
Edit: Nice boot animation!
Well then. Here we go. Fire up boot manager!

The default kernel is still Tiamat. I haven't checked to see which it is right now, but I will throw in one that supports the higher OC in a future release.
I can also check on the 5th row bit for default MIUI launcher.

Duly noted.
so this is 2.3.23 as it says. Does that mean its miui ics? and your camera works??? i already downloaded for bootmanager
Looking into the layout for the default launcher, you can change rows/columns in the launcher settings. Rom has been stable so far, runs pretty smooth.
Edit: If anyone's performance is laggy, I noticed that the default awake governor was set to conservative. When I moved to ondemand, the rom became much more smooth.

I believe that it's still the Gingerbread base, but with some ICS features baked in. I'll be updating the OP eventually here with images, the official changelog, as well as everything I've done.

Yes, sorry, that was the last change I made last night before compiling. I had it set to intellianthrax, which caused the issue I described in the OP.

Didn't try bluetooth, but I noticed initial setup when signing into your google account FC's.
the only problem I've seen yet, is widget sizing. My Widgets aren't showing correctly, they usually stretch to the edge of the homescreen. Now however, they are shrunk a little. I think its a qHD bug?

Changed to using AJNewKirks kernel he modified from Entropys Kernels, I like this kernel as it gives us a working bootanimation now since I originally removed the ATT bootup and bootup sound in Version 1.0, so you can add any bootanimation.zip file to system/media if you want to now.
I also have replaced the 15 toggle status bar wiith using the UCDL3 SystemUI. STRIKE USB MASS STORAGE ATILL BROKE. Only MTP DEVICE is working properly with the status bat mod but not usb mass storage mode.
This does NOT have the kernel that some may have had issues with that had bricked a few phones. I personally was using the STOCK kernel that originally came with Entropys download and flashed between many different nandroids and different roms after full wipes without issues along with nandroiding into cm9 to see the status of how it is going, along with Omega Rom and my other roms. So this is just a precautionary measure. AGAIN as with any other rom flashing is at your own risk, so read, read, and read some more so you know what you are doing to your expensive phone and know what to do if you get into trouble.
NEW firmware updated to I777UCLD3 RattleSnake II New modem is included along with all previous tweaks to build.prop for speed. It is a new firmware so a full wipe might be expected. Some minor changes but pretty much the same theme style and this newest leak definetly seems very snappy. Hope you enjoy it.
New Version 1.3 below includes 14 toggle pulldown menu with: WIFI,DATA,BLUETOOTH,GPS,FLASHLIGHT,BRIGHTNESS,AIRPLANE,VIBRATION,AUTO ROTATION,AUTO SYNC,SCREEN TIMEOUT,LOCKSCREEN,REBOOT,WIFI HOTSPOT,SHUTDOWN TOGGLES. You can use the QuickPanel Settings App to pick which/ALL toggles to use. You can also arrange them in any order. This is Lidroids work and I just got it working with this stock based firmware. I have used some VERY NICE Icons from when I was using Omega Rom and it INCLUDES the 1% Battery using the Clear Glass Battery. So go thank Lidroid for his great work as well.
Based on the Second ATT Leak given to Task650 from DesignGears. Deodexed by Task. Thanks to Ktoonsez for repacking the stock kernel with CWM for Task. So a BIG THANKS to ALL you. Just thought I would throw something else out there to try that is different looking than stock ICS. And I am still learning how to manipulate alot of settings so it is fun learning experience. This looks and feels NOTHING LIKE stock ics.
As you might know I like Black and Blue themes, so I have lightly modified some things in this so far to start getting rid of some of the things I personally don't like about ICS colorations. Modified the framework-res to style built in that I like. Modded the systemui to include 1% battery increments now, modified many other attributes inside as well. If you are running the first version of this then you can flash this NEW version directly over it with just wiping dalvich cache.
This is still a work in progress This is just a more improved and cleaner version with the fixes I have made. The data 4g icon is now fixed and working properly along with all other in pull down menu. This is a combination of many roms pieced together that I have used in the past and pulled in what I personally like.
Some changes that I can think of at this time are:
PHONE DIALER (Contacts.apk)
BLACK/BLUE KEYBOARD
BLACK/BLUE MESSAGING
BLUE PULLDOWN TOGGLE MENU (Stock menu right now-(Wifi,Bluetooth,GPS,AutoRotation,Airplane)
BLACK/BLUE MYFILES
CLEAR BLUE BATTERY MOD BUT HAVING ISSUES WITH IT RIGHT NOW
BLUE DIGITAL CLOCK WIDGET
ADDED APEX LAUNCHER (Also has TW Launcher)
FIXED-STILL HAS BLOATWARE. I WILL BE TRYING TO IMPLEMENT G-SCRIPTS APP WITH SOME SCRIPTS TO REMOVE SYSTEM/BLOAT-FIXED
ADDED A ZIP IN ADDON LINK TO FLASH IN CWM TO GET RID OF THE MMS/SMS IN THE PHONE LOG SECTION.
NEED TO ADD APN SETTINGS SINCE THIS VERSION SEEMS TO AUTOMATICALLY USE THE OLD WAP CINGULAR410. THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE USING THE BLOATWARE REMOVAL SCRIPT. I HAVE SEEN NO OTHER EFFECTS BY REMOVING THE BLOATWARE OTHER THAN NOT BEING ABLE TO GO INTO THE MORE SECTION TO SEE YOUR APNS. IF YOU FLASH THE NEWER VERSION 1.3 OVER WHICHEVER VERSION YOU ARE CURRENTLY ON IT WILL RETAIN YOUR SETTINGS FOR YOUR APN NUMBERS.
ADDED MORE THEMED APPS TO MATCH OVERALL THEME COLORS

Hopefully be fixed soon. Also trying to get the 1% battery to work (it is set up for only like 5 battery changes) but for some reason I am having a biotch of a time getting the mod to change and work properly. Hopefully will have a update soon, sometime this week. I have already made quite a few changes. Working on it as much as I can. Thanks for trying it out. I am gonna try to keep it as close to stock but with visual changes.

Try looking into ShoStock2, it is a close build to this and it will help you line out what needs to be changed.
Thanks for all your work. It does look great.

Im going to move this to the Ported forum since all that seems to be done here is just a theme is added. Task deodexed and made the rom work. Ktoonsez repacked the kernel. All that this has added to is is a theme.
Thread moved to Ported.

Okay if you must. I just used the deodexed as a base. I have changed apps so they are themed versions, changed framework (gonna be uploading that version soon), changed systemui, changed keyboard, other than it being based on the stock leak it will be totally different looks wise and feel wise. The only things that are the same is the kernel. It shouldnt be ported since it is i777 firmware as far as how I remember things. If I am wrong I understand. But I posted it here since it is I777 based and many things are/will be different. I onky used task version as a base since we did not/will not have the actual source to deodex. I have also added apps for functionality and plan to add others for debloating after initial install. Along with some scripts to remove the bloatware.

Ask Task to post the .img files or pass it to you.
Maybe for the next leak as well.
On another note I will be uploading a NEW version sometime today. I fixed the battery 1% issue I was having (messed up resource.arsc file), made changes in framework and systemui. I fixed the 4g/etc. overlapping for the data in the status bar. I might add on this version the gscript app to be able to debloat with a script all the bloatware. Other possible changes that I have been doing as well. Hope you all like it.

I already said why I moved it to the Ported section. Its someone elses work that you just applied a theme for. Its the same rom/kernel that Task has in this thread except with a theme. You havent really done anything else to it. The original section is for people to have a base and then all a lot to it, otherwise its just a port of someones work... and ported stuff belongs here. Its not a knock at you, it just is what it is.
NEW VERSION is uploaded and posted in the OP. I have also attached two other zip files. One is CWM flashable and is for adding some DATA APPS and the other needs to be extracted and has a script file for getting rid of the system bloatware and the other is a cwm flashable MMS/SMS Fix to remove them from the Phone Call Log area. PLEASE see precautions before applying the bloatware removal. you must FIRST set your APN settings before applying it otherwise you cannot get back into the APN settings under MORE. You do NOT have to use the script and can use Tibu or other ways of removing the bloat apps you dont want. Just thought I would share this as it makes it very easy. hope you enjoy. Thanks
Just curious does this ROM not have nfc as I don't see it anywhere.
Only asking as thought it was a att leak not an international one.

Can you add bluetooth tethering? Seems your the only one trying to theme/mod this base so I'll $upport if you can get that added. It was in LE, akop, and cm9... But not in C5. Its so close to LE that it must be in framework somewhere (I tried settings apk from LE)

[ROM][2.3.6][YP-G70][July25] Chip v1.5

Hi all!
This is a compilation of tweaks/themes/mods found around the forums (and elsewhere) cooked together with some of my own modifications and slimmed down into one firmware for the Galaxy Player/Galaxy S WiFi 5.0". Note that much of this is other people's original work. I have linked to sources for a lot of the features in the list. Go thank these developers for their awesome job!
My goals for this firmware are that it should look decent, be slim and fast, and have good battery life. If you have found or developed a tweak or mod that you think will improve this firmware, by all means do suggest it in this thread. However, keep in mind that I cannot work magic, and have used Android for less than a year. Even so, I will try my best to implement feature requests, and to fix all bugs.
This firmware does not include a kernel, so it should support all USA and international devices (and partially the Korean version) as long as you install the correct kernel (by rumirand or Entropy512) for your device. After installing the kernel, reboot into recovery and flash the zip at the top of post 2. I would recommend re-installing the kernel afterwards, just to be safe. Also, when coming from another firmware, you will probably need to "wipe data/factory reset." If you are just upgrading, you should only need to clear cache.

awww lol damn beat me to it. i was working on a rom with the newest KPL firmware a while back but never finished it. i haven't tried yours yet but I would recommend you remove that hosts file IMO. people put hard work and most of all time into their apps and it sucks to not get ad revenue from all that.

True... but there are people (like me) who have no way to pay for the premium apps even if they wanted to. I guess I'll remove it - if people really want it, it's not too hard to put back. (edit: that is, individually)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353903 Can you add this tweaks ? i flash it and it gives me 250 points in Quadrant and much more free ram...i have always about 210mb ram free
thanks for this will try it out later.
I like it..everything works for now but why did you exclude samsung aps from stock rom like samsung keybord and swipe ...they are much better then this in the rom..also samsung diary and some other..

I have tried it ROM is very good. Everything works. But I will probably go back to Eryigit GB-2.3.6 G70ZCKPA because it supports more laguages. If you will find a way to add slovan languages gonna be happy to move to your ROM. Tanks for your job
p.s. I had a feeling that this rom is a little bit slower than the others.

As for me using a ROM in english is not such a big problem, but when you have an ability to use your device in native language its much more pleasant now I am configuring Eryigit rom 2.0 a little bit for myself. This ROM supports czech and russian. Yesturday I installed there a mix of John_2k2 and iJimaniac themes. It needs to be fixed, but it works at least. It looks very similar to this ROM''s ICS theme
maybe in nearest future I will try to add there advanced power menu and another toggle bar. If I will make it I can send it to you, so we can have all good features in native languages. but its a question of struggeling with my lazyness
Good idea OP. Could you do me a favour? Could you link me to the STOCK XXKPL download for the international device, I'd like to have a go at customizing. Cheers.
EDIT: Just seen you did, but there's no English version. Damn.

The reason his ROM has support for additional languages is because his is based off of the Chinese stock, while this is based off the European, which is newer. I might be able to add languages by hacking framework-res - I'll see what I can do.

Because each of their keyboards take up about 15mb each, and Hacker's keyboard is much smaller and more customizable, and ICS themed. If you want it to look like Samsung stock, set it to 4 row on portrait and landscape, and GB theme.
Also, it only comes with an English dictionary, but there are more available in the Play Store.
Man... this rom is perfect. ICS feel, with everything such as camera and hwa working fine. I loved it and it has brazilian portuguese. One day using it and battery and everything else ok. Thank you so much.

Swype and Mini Diary will be back in the next version, but only because you asked
CRT animation only works if you have "some animations" or "all animations" set in display settings.
What do you mean by status bar toggles customizable? There's a "Quickpanel Settings" app that can enable/disable and re-order the toggles.

[ROM] [320 DPI] Battery Plus Rom v2.1 Lite - 302mb! [1.1.13]

If your into the Rom scene on the Galaxy Note II you might recognize the rom name. I now bring my battery saving, low DPI, stock look lite Roms to the Droid DNA. If you like my Rom, great. If not, please use your backup made before installing and restore your old rom. Thanks for testing it. And please report all bugs and fc's in the thread not via pms. I'm not claiming this rom will give you a massive battery increase. But it should be higher than your stock rom as I have removed a lot of ram consuming bloat. In theory it will give more battery life. At least it has in my testing Vs my stock rom.

Built from DNA Stock ROM v.1.15.605.4 710RD (Thanks MicroMod777)
SD card cache tweak, i/o governer set to deadline

Set the compression level to 10 or 100% for max details and file size.

well, Some more credits should be in this post. also, calling other users fanboys because we don't hack up stock roms, and like the phone more or less the way it was designed; is not the way to keep people happy. just FYI, before someone with power fixes it for you.

Since when is the term fanboy degrading? I dont know about what may be borrowed in here as i haven't looked in the rom yet but the rest of the post seemed fine to me. This is starting off like the cleanrom thread again. :crying: lets all be friends and give credit where its due. :good:

fanboy in technical forums has always had the Demeaning quality. i edited my post because I was told by a few people, credit doesn't matter anymore. I was actually trying to be informative before someone gets pissed, I guess it doesn't matter anymore who does what.
i'm going to run it through it's paces, even though I think desensed roms, using sense as a base, is rather... incorrectly termed.

Well thats all we've got to go off of as of right now. Without source or a AOSP kernel were forced to run desensed roms as an AOSP stepchild. All i was trying to say is i think the OP just meant this rom isn't ideal for people who like stock and or sense roms. No malice intended.
waiting for the download link!!!
No malice intended, its just not for sense fans naturally as its not there (sense). I reworked it to say fans now. Not fanboys. Again no harm indended. I'm on slow internet so the upload is taking time. LAst minute bug discovered so had to re-up it. Please save the reviews till its released and you have tried it!
Uploading now and screens coming.

tbh desense roms work better than aosp would anyway. Battery life on stock is always better on every device i've ever owned and there's less bugs than an aosp rom built from scratch. Also does anybody know where I might be able to find a flashable Verizon droid boot animation , I prefer it over the HTC one.
Can't wait! Thanks, H

No, its just not upscaling so much, 320 DPI vs 480 DPI. 320 is a standard DPI used by many, so no market issues either.

Sorry it seems that mirror service i used is taking its sweet time. Its been saying uploading but i have uploaded the file (twice now). I'm uploading to a friends private server that has 100mbit line for downloading. No file sharing sites used so this will help.
Once I get that download link live I will try and get some mirrors up asap!
Eta is 1 hour still uploading at 90kbs
Looking forward to trying this. Any ETA on a working download link?
3 mirrors are up!
