I don't know anyone who has had the OTA update, Just use PC Companion.

If your phone isn't unlocked you will most likely not have the update yet so u will have to wait or flash it.

you've 2.3.4 uk generic, unlock your phone, root it and flash it.

Hello JJones45! Did you try to repair the software using SEUS? That might help.

here you go
yes you can . but the update is end off may/ begin june 2012
you need a pc and offical sony pc software from there web site
to update the the phone to ics 4.0
please bear in mind the update will wipe your root off
so if you downgrade back to 2.3.4 you have to root again

No, you don't have to unroot, but bootloader has to be locked.

If you have rooted .58, make update directly from your phone via 3G or WiFi to .62. Make sure bootloader is locked.

Can't use pc companion or seus

I have the 48 firmware and seus or sus says I have the latest software available.
Pcc says your phone is up to date and the repair button says theres no software available for my phone.
I tried to relock the bootloader, flash stock Rom and change SI.
Also I tried to : format to xp, format to 7, reinstall pcc and seus, wipe everything on my phone and sd card through cwm.
I'm afraid that I can't get the ics update

I suppose the problem is with the WT19i, you are posting from.
Did you reinstall full stock firmware? Have you tried the firmware from my tutorial?
I recently used the firmwares for WT19i, I was able to update form the .58 update to newer, .62.

Hmm. Could it be that the servers are busy as of now? Not sure about this.
If all else fails, just wait for someone who might have the time to compile and upload a .ftf for NL Generic ICS.

Strange Update Xperia sola

I unlocked bl and flashed custoom kernel taday and after first boot there was an update notification to .184. But my build number IS .184.....
?????????!!!?
It also says i will need computer/pc companion to do the update....
Since bootloader is unlocked i can not do the update...
Sent from my MT27i using xda app-developers app
that is normal.
You can't make official Updates from Sony with a unlocked bootloader. If you want to have the official updates you have to relock your bootloader
The kernel you flashed is of an older firmware hence the notification. Freeze update center using titanium and the notification will be gone.
Edit: It generally happens when a custom kernel is used.

The kernel that you are using is built from the source release of an older kernel for Sola n hence the notification to upgrade it..
So dun worry it's normal...

I too always get it,as many have said older kernel.

Yep Even I deleted Update Center. Its pretty much useless now that your bootlocker is unlocked,
Id say its mandatory to delete updatecenter

as far as I know you have to reroot after installing updates.
and Im not sure if PC Companion will allow you to install updates with a custom kernel.
I rooted mine by using this method
