How to stop apps ? - Sony Tablet S

Hey guys, maybe a stupid question.. but how tp stop the apps?
I know we can go to settings and stop them there, but is there a quicker way? sometimes when we go to the multitasking section, we have many apps open and games.. I think that if we close them, we will save a bit of battery.. iv seen that in ice cream sandwich. We just need to slide them to the right (in the multitasking sec.) but in honeycomb still didnt find anything like that..
Any ideas?

Works fine for me with Android Assistant or ZDBox. Just place the quickboost/kill all widget on ur homescreen and press it when needed. Will close all unused apps. U'll still see them in the multitasking section, but thats mearly a dead shortcut...if u klick one they'll start up new.
In addition Android Assistant has a configurable widget. With it u can jump directly to the process screen and select the ones u wanna close.
Hope this helps.

Some basic phone questions.(X10 Noob)

My battery seems to fly out the door, how do you close down some of the running applications? I don't want to download a 3rd party app just to be able to close browser or mediascape X_X
EDIT: Also, I am trying to delete some apps with Titanium backup, do yall recommend deleting Google talk, Play Now, User Guide and Use Support? And finally there is a toolbar that has 4 pictures (one with a dot and signals going up, one for blue tooth, one with a satellite dish letting off a signal and one that controls the phone, what do the 1st and 3rd ones control? I have no manual with this phone.
Edit Edit: (Lol) How do you set .mp3's for ringtone and notifications(and while we are at it custom wallpaper), and is there anyway to change the unlock process of the phone?
Really, thanks to anyone who answers even one of my 50 questions.

It's up to you and your usage what you want to delete, but I have deleted the last 3 you mention and more.

Also, one more question, how can I use setcpu to get me more battery life? There are 'scaling' options but all of them seem to be the same thing..?

3rd party
On the beginning of the thread you said you didn't want a 3rd party app to close tasks. However you should use something like "advanced task killer". If you open the app you get a list of running apps and you can unselect the ones you want to remain running.
Then you get a 1 click widget that remembers that (un)selection, leaving those apps running and stopping everything else. Very useful.
BTW check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767849
The beauty of android is the amount of nice apps available!
EDIT: Just in case you don't read that thread through:
careful with LCD Density Changer you need ROOT with Superuser and busybox or your phone will brick
So better to stay away from that one.
Ya at the beginning I didn't want to use a 3rd party app to close tasks, it didn't make sense, now I can't get enough of ATK.
I have 2 new questions for everyone.
One how can I access the internal memory from my pc? And 2 how can I change the background color in menus like settings, messages etc. The blue background is super annoying.

[Q] [QUE] Problems or bugs

After updating with ICS 4.0.3 thee is no application in-built for CAMERA . . .
And also wi-fi is not working . so replay solution ..
There isnt a solution yet. The ROM is in development and it might take some time before its ready, i'd check back in about a month.
There are other really good gingerbread based ROMs though. I'm back on ArcMini, its working brilliantly.

First of all, it is mentioned by the thread owner who released ics 4.0.3 that there will be bugs and problems and this is not the final product. then why are you downloading and complaining about it? please wait for the final rom or just keep quiet.
Im sorry to say that but you should have read the whole topic before you flashed to ics. Did you read that in the first place?
MiniCM7Pro V21
Hi guys!
I have installed MiniCM7Pro_V21 on my x10 mini pro and i have a question?
The buttons on my phone does not look like the picture on the forumsite for MiniCM7Pro. (Can´t post link to picture because this is my first post...)
I still looks like the SE buttons, you know with four optional buttons in the corners. It does not help if I change theame.
Do i need to change framework somehow or what do i do?

Really you should post this in the Q&A section but, since I'm here..
It sounds like you're using the SE launcher. Launchers are the apps that you can access the app drawer from, see your widgets on, set wallpapers for, etc.
Have a look on the Market for an alternative, there are several out there. Or use ADW, which comes already with your rom. If you press the Home button and it doesn't ask you to choose between two different launchers, that means you've already selected the SE one)
Head into your settings app, then:
"Application Settings"
"Manage Applications"
Choose "All" from the four options near the top of the screen.
Scroll down and press on "Sony Ericsson Home".
Press on "Clear Defaults".
Back out of the app and press the Home button.
This will give you the option to use the SE launcher or ADW. Select ADW and...there you go!

ok, gallery thumbnails load but when i try to load wallpaper doesn't load. Unable to change wallpaper.
Also I have to double tap on OK button for a window to dissapear when changing something (most of the times not always)
Last...I long press wifi, it shows me the available modems. If I leave this screen and then come back to wifi options, available modems list don't appear, not even after I press scan. I have to switch off and on wifi for the list to appear.
That's about it so far!

What exactly you're looking for?
If you look for multitasking it's just a long press on central Home button

This is not really necessary or recommended with Gingerbread onwards. Android is much better at suspending the threads.
But if you really want to kill it, just download any free task killer.
By the way, the Xperia S has a TON of RAM. I'm not sure why you think you're running into memory issues.

There are a number of pieces of research that show that killing tasks manually actually has a detrimental effect on device speed and battery life.
Let Android manage this itself.
This is intresting to know because I had task killer on my sgs2 and i always used to kill apps manually.

Press the middle key and that will take you to the task manager.

Unable to find task manager-- Jelly bean

Hello all,
I need some help please !
I recently rotted my galaxy S2 and applied jelly bean ROM to it (X-Treme CM10)
All is working good till now.

Please tell, is there any other way to open task manager ??
I'm a bit lazy to open settings --> Apps --> and then close running apps.
Any kind of help is highly appreciated !
ALSO ...
I wanted to know that for how long the battery lasts once i recharge it to 100% ???

isnt the task manager app there in the apps? Also, you can select task manager widget/shortcut on your screen..havent used jelly bean yet though..but the task manager should be accessible by methods mentioned
Hye,
you shouldn't always rely on managers to do your tasks.. better try to do given tasks like homework, assignment by yourself.. Thrust me..*ouch, It will give you benefits.
It's built in. When you swipe apps away it clears ram space.
And as far as how long your battery is going to last, no one is going to be able to answer that. You'll find out when its at 1%
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Task manager is only on Samsung based ROMs, not in AOSP/AOKP. Android has its own task manager that manages perfectly and automatically. You don't need any.
Using other task managers isn't good, since it sometimes clashes with Android's built-in one.

Thats the main function of the long press home button, install another Launcher and configure it to do that.
The Task Manager sometimes is not installed on customs ROM's; install it manually or change the ROM

Just press and hold down home button , then swipe away the app you want to close. Or instead of swipe use trash can. But you have to hold down home button to get to the scree for either way.
