Just got a couple 1950mah batteries from eBay. - Motorola Photon 4G

Came in the mail yesterday, not expecting much from them but figured I would try them anyway. They are a bit thicker then the OEM battery so the back cover doesn't fit right and causes pressure marks on the screen. But I have a otterbox commuter so I just left the back off.
drained one down last night and put it in the charger that they came with (which is really what I wanted). Put the charged one in this morning andbits going strong. I use my phone pretty heavily throughout the day for my job so I blow through battery life pretty good. Been on this battery for about 3 hours of uptime using web, email and text and am down to 89%. Not to shabby in my opinion but we will see how the rest of the day goes.
Heard these cheap batteries don't seem to hold charge after a while so I am interested in seeing. Ill keep it updated

So it's thicker than the stock battery and causes issues with the back not seating properly? Hm. Could probably shave the inside of the back cover down a bit to make it work.
And what do you mean by pressure on the screen? It makes a noticeable impact on the way the screen looks? Ouch.

Did you buy these? 2x 1950mAh BF6X Battery+Charger For MOTOROLA PHOTON 4G http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_1914wt_1158
As soon as I saw the pressure marks on the display, I pulled them out and cut my $10.95 loss.

So they do cause issues, yeah, **** that, I'm gonna have to go ahead and pass on that.

I bought these too. They work fine until you get to 50%, then the percentage drops like a rock to 0.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium

Yea the batteries cause a little pressure mark right in the middle of my screen with the battery cover on. But I just use my otterbox so i don't have the cover on.
Got about 15 hours out of the one today with my usual use which is about par with the OEM battery. I'm gonna keep using them and see if they will hold a charge after a week or two.

I was can't do that if it causes pressure on the screen. But keep us posted. I may modify the rear cover

Yea if I wouldn't use them if I had to use the OEM battery cover.
I actually scared myself because I got the OEM cover to clamp on and I turn my phone over and I see this big mark right in the middle of the screen. Though I had broke that screen forcing the cover on. And I didn't buy my phone from sprint so i was pissed. Thought I would have to pull my heroc out haha

Just by coincidence, the seller was looking for feedback and I told them about the problem and that I was NOT going to post feedback. They offered a $8.00 refund. Cool.

At 70% now with 8 hours of total time but only about 3-4 hours with screen on time

I had to return one of my photons cause the battery caused permanent marks on the screen due to pressure. Turn your brightness up and you might see white marks where the pressure was.

Hello, I have also purchased these same batteries from (EBAY)and they came with a charger. No they do not last as long as the OEM. I carry them in my backpack as backups, they get you out of a jam if you forget to plug in doing the day. I will probably end up getting the extended batt from a decent company as I tether quite a bit.

Did you break them in? By draining what is left of the battery when you get it, charging up to 100% while the phone is off, drain the phone, charge to 100%, drain the phone again, charge to 100% again, then clear batt stats through Bootstrap?

Mugen Power 3200mah Extended Battery

Saw a thread about this battery in the normal Galaxy S2 section, but not here.
I purchased this battery on ebay for about 85 bucks shipped. I haven't run any tests or even cycled the battery yet, but the results are definitely worth the money I paid.
I popped the battery in on Saturday, it was at 60%. I use blue tooth streaming music about an hour throughout the day, data on, face book and email syncing, etc. I got 2 days 20 hours before the phone hit 18% battery. I just fully charged today to 100%, made 3 15 minute phone calls, and some browsing. It took an hour and a half before the battery went down to 99%.
The Mugen Power back plate is actually pretty good too. The grooves give a really good grip. The kick stand is awesome as well, even though it does feel like cheap plastic. The added width to the phone makes it better to hold as well.
Best part, it's an NFC battery so no boot looping.
Only down side so far is there's definitely no case for this thing.
If you don't mind shelling out a few bucks to have your phone last a few days, GET THIS BATTERY! The added weight and size is really not that serious.
Man 85 bucks is a lot of money lol. I dont know if you can fuse 2 batteries like you could with the captivate but i would rather go that route as im sure you could.
there's a couple 3500mah batteries as well, and they are phenomenal! I've gotten 2 days of heavy use and over 8.5 hours of screen time. I agree with OP, worth buying. And I these are cheaper.

Yes I would also like a link.
I don't think Mugen makes a 3500 battery or a cheap battery if that's what your asking for a link for. I believe Slatestud is referring to the cheap Hyperion, GTMax, and other cheap Chinese batteries which seem to be performing well for the money. What Slatestud doesn't realize is that the OP is more or less against buying those batteries.

Yea. Extended batteries work great. Especially for the money. I love mine. Im getting about 2 days medium-heavy use, and 8-9 hours screen time with the GTmax. What about the Hyperion?
I got the GTMax 3500mAh battery for Christmas and while the tabs on the back suck (some broke off, the back needs to be squeezed on to the phone to work) the battery is absolutely amazing. Almost 2 days constant use without charging.
I did send bluemall an email about this and they replied with some horribly broken english response basically telling me to screw off when I asked for a new plastic back because mine was messed up. Here's a link to it but for $12, you cannot go wrong with this.

They all look enormous, the Mugen looks the least obtrusive but still I'm afraid I will hate turning my sleek GS2 into a humpback whale.. I wish I could see these 3200-3500mah batteries w/cases in person, I'd love to double my battery life but the photos of these extended batteries really turn me off
Here's a informative review of the Mugen on YouTube..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLLNFWehfl8&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Ive bought cheap batteries and ive bought the mugen. I wont buy cheap batteries again. You can easily get 4-5 days standby with minimal use, by the time you realise its been a few days since you charged your phone you still have 25% left, and it takes ages for this to go down, so I've never been stuck with a dead phone.
The added weight and bulk to phone is a bonus to me, in standard form the phone is too light and flimsy feeling, to me the extra weight feels better in the hand. Im actually selling my mugen (upgraded to S3), only 6 months of minimal use, still in great condition if anyone is interested.

Seido 3200mAh Extended Life Battery

During my search for an extended battery this came up on amazon. http://amazon.com/gp/product/B0069RT8HO/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details From the reviews I've read it appears to have a slower discharge rate compared to cheaper batteries. The specs for the back door are not listed but it appears to have a nice finish. Since I went with the amazon option I may have to wait a couple weeks to receive it, I'll post details when I do.
Edit: Says it adds 1.13cm to the phone size so I'm guessing similar to the GTMax cover size but with a better fit and finish.
Hard to tell from the picture, but it seems to me that it looks better than some of the others I have seen.
Post some pics when you get it, I am seriously interested.

What I have found with covers like this is to put the top edges in first and hold tension on them while you snap the bottom in.

I have had this battery since my wife got it for me on Christmas. She also got me the Taurus Bumper and I do not have any issues with it fitting properly. I can even take the battery out with the bumper on it.
Battery is well worth the money, you get what you pay for.
I finally tried to install the battery but the back cover fits poorly on the one I received. I've already sent a return request to the seller. Dust and dirt could definitely get into the phone with the gaps it leaves. It's sad because I love the soft touch cover on the back cover, and the Neo Hybrid Ex does fit with the battery.

QCell X-Life 5600mAh battery?

Hi
Anyone tried the QCell X-Life 5600mAh battery?

There are several of the 5x00 batteries out there. I bought the <$10 and have been very satisfied with its performance. I used Juice Offender on it to drain it and it lasted 5 hours with flash on, white screen on bright, vibration going, CPU maxed out, wifi/BT turned on. Quite impressive.
The fact that the common complaint of the back not fitting leads me to believe these are all likely coming out of the same chineese factory with a different label being placed on them. $10-$20 for a decent multiday battery is hard to complain about.
As for the back not fitting...
snap top side in. Slide fingers down the back from top to bottom clicking the tabs in. It will likely take a few tries but you can usually get it to click in securely if you do it just right, almost massaging from top to bottom. If you just push on the bottom it kinda clicks in until you let go then pops out. Mine did the same thing and I was ticked about it until I found others explaining how you have to mess with it a bit, GOOD LUCK!

hate to be cynical, but a good percentage of the after market batteries are China made. Only the high end batteries are made from Japan. Even the OEM batteries are technically made in China. (even tho they like to write, "Designed in...." another country. Take Apple for example. or Samsung)
battery
The picture of the battery from the link you posted clearly says "made in china" I'd still like to know how you make out with this though. I think i have a defective battery from samsung because i don't seem to get nearly the time as everyone else seems to get on this site
Thanks so much for this link. However, I'm skeptical since it's so cheap. I'm gonna wait till some other order this and review it. I've always paid way too much for extended batteries from seidio for my former EVO phones and am tired of it. So I'm gonna watch this closely.
I have kept my GPS ,Bluetooth, data on all day. I watch over 2hrs worth of videos and been on the internet all day. I charged it for the first time last night and I want to drain it 100% today. 16hrs of extra heavy usage and I still have 11% of battery remaining.
Cons - cheep back cover very thin plastic.

Ordered this also. For $10 shipped it's worth a shot. The tough to install back cover seems pretty common in these bargain extended batteries, but if it fits who cares. If it works as well as I hope it will, i will consider modding my Seido Active case. With the right application of heat and cutting, I may get something to work. Said it's shipping from their international warehouse whereas the other batteries I ordered for wifes tmo exhibit2 are shipping from stateside warehouse. Was hoping for fast delivery but that's out the window.
I will say this battery is pretty good so far. I'm at 17% battery and at around 5 hours screen on time. Full sync, all location setting on except GPS, etc. Not trying to save battery at all.
Does anyone notice the battery jumping up slightly? Sometimes it will go from 30% to 29%, then back up to 30-31%. Gonna ride it out till its completely dead and recharge.
Sucks that I have no case on it, so I ordered an aluminum bumper.

My phone was doing that on the first battery drain. After I wiped the battery bin I have not seen it again.
My last test was an 8 hr road trip with navigation on the entire trip. My battery level went down to 25% after 8 hrs of GPS full brightness and no charging.

How comfortable is it to carry the Note with an extended battery?

I have read several reviews of extended batteries for the Note. So putting the tech specs aside, how comfortable is it to carry around the already big Note with an extended battery case? Are there any brands that are better than others in this regard?
I currently carry around an extra battery, but I always forget to charge the extra battery on days when I end up swapping them out. I was thinking about purchasing an extended battery/case, but I don't want to be carrying around a brick either. I spend a lot of time traveling where Iike to have my phone easily accesible in my front pants pocket.

I find pros and cons. The extended battery does make it easier to grip. But of course its harder to put in a pocket.
I use one all the time.

I carry my phone in my front pants pocket without issue. It's s little tight in some jeans with smaller pockets, but overall it works just fine with extended battery. Biggest issue I've had is lack of a case so while I drop it rarely, when I do it comes apart into three pieces(phone, battery, back case)

I think it's fine. Because the phone is already big, the extra "hump" is not too hard to get used to.
I got a metal bumper case to work with the extended battery. I posted a picture in the other thread for 5200mah battery. If you drop it, it will still come apart most of the time.
I did use a cheap TPU case and cut out a hole for the hump and that works out fine as well. This will keep the phone together better if you drop it, but it was a really cheap TPU case, so I ditched it eventually for the bumper, which looked alot slicker.

I just took a look at that thread. I think I might get one to have on extended travel days. It does look kind of goofy IMO, but it will serve a purpose. Thanks for the response.

Yes... I have grown used to the look, but when I take out my phone in public, people do ask "what the heck is that?"
I don't think it is as ridiculous, but people do. But, it is nice when you are on the road. I lasted almost 3 full days in the mountains with the extended and stock batteries.
I love mine and I also have the case for the Hyperion extended battery for the international note and it fits fine.

Can you link me to this case? Also, did you have to do any modifications to make it fit?

I'm just carrying 2 batteries... It's pretty fricken great
One in my phone charges like usual and I got a wall charger for the second
Picked the official Samsung battery from at&t for $30 and got the wall charge free from a friend

yes, no problems with the case for everyday use, however you might find using the phone with one hand isn't as easy anymore.
I consider myself pretty good with one hand on the Note, but the extended battery makes that a real challenge.

I find it much easier to put in my pocket than the with the normal battery and attached to the charger.

I bought the extended battery with hump initially and only used it when I knew I wouldnt be able to have power for awhile. It became more of bulk issue, i ended up just ordering an extra battery and just swap out.

I have one in 24/7. I keep it in my shirt pocket, run a ranch, no extra case/cover. I'm on 4g only, no real internet out here where the bear does his business.
Doesn't fall out, get too wet from sweat, or broken... I'm due an upgrade but waiting on note 3 or price drop on note 2 and an extended battery for it.
if I just used the OEM battery it'd be dead in 3 hours or less since my data is on all the time...

Which battery do you have?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
The tmart <$10 one for i717... I had two because going to 4g only ate my battery and I thought it was just wearing out.
I found it was easier to hold...fit ok in my shirt pocket.
When I syill had satellite internet it lasted all day usually. But I think I'm getting almost the same performance out of the i317 oem battery.
