I'm sure there are plenty of others to freeze, but I haven't tried them yet.

Can you please post actual apk names, some i cant seem to find

Anybody figured out the non essentials on an Optus Singtel RAZR?

A word of caution, I used Titanium to freeze the apps in this list, and it caused the music widget and music app to FC. Not sure which app it's dependent upon, but there are some dependencies somewhere. Tried unfreezing them one by one with no dice, ended up unfreezing all and power cycling to get the music app / widget fixed. Would use doubletwist but I really like Motocast, so kinda stuck with the moto music app.

Here's what I have frozen and I haven't found any issues.

What's the advantage of freezing all these apps?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium

I don't use them so why have them cluttering up my drawer and menus? That's why.

I don't use these apps, some of them have elements that run in the background wasting cpu and battery cycles. It's just the bloat that verizon and motorola try to force down our throats. I'd delete them, motorola and verizon like to look and make sure they are there before you can install updates. Freezing them allows me to gain resources and removes them from my app dock without me losing the ability to flash updates.

Yeah, I some how deleted two of these apps and now I'm stuck. All the other bloatware was frozen, but my yahoo contacts and authentication apks were deleted. Now every time I select a contact "com.motorola.contacts" fcs. HELP!! Is there anyway for me to get these back? Maybe someone could backup theirs and send them to me? Any help would be great! Thanks guys.
Yahoo Calendar service 2.3.5 (I still have this.)
Yahoo Contacts 2.3.5 (I NEED this!)
Yahoo! Mail Authenticator 2.3.5 (I NEED this!)
PS - Downloaded the system dump and tried to install the "YahooContacts.apk" but it wouldn't install. I'm at a loss. :-/

Just to confirm...everyone used TiBu to freeze?

Not sure if this would help, try wiping device to bring back to stock?

Thanks but it would just remove the stuff I have installed or placed on the device. I don't think it would restore something I deleted from the system folder

Instead of installing the yahoo apps you deleted. What I think you should do is copy them back in the system/app folder. After that just use something like root explorer to change the permissions matching the other apps that are on your phone. Reboot and it should be working again.
If I was any help please dont forget to thank me. I'm on a race to beat my friend

These apps will be in the system partition, deleting them would just have the advantage of freeing space in that partition that doesn't really get used for anything useful anyway. Freezing means you still have the option of unfreezing them for future use.

If you delete system apps, can you still update when ice cream sandwich comes out? if not, do you think there will be a SBF file or even a recovery to flash back to stock?

System Tuner Pro should allow you backup the app and delete it, or freezing it. Might give you another option, not to mention if someone here backs them up they might be able to share the backup so you can restore.
You could also just try another contacts app, Go Contacts for example.

i got same problem
Google disabled Facebook integration in their stock messaging app. This is working as intended. Use Go SMS Pro if you want Facebook integration back.
If you want to stay with the regular mess app best thing to do is flash fresh sbf go in set up your facebook account under accounts and also let your gmail sync let it fully finish then do the whole root process i finally got it down cause thats one thing that drove me crazy. But im back using go sms cause its alot better i think

[Q] Facebook Updates Through Motoblur?

First, I'm not talking about the Facebook app. As most of you know, Motoblur can hold a Facebook account and can show you Facebook messages when they come, but those messages will show up almost an hour after the regular Facebook app does. I was wondering if there was any way to make it sync faster? I have been searching everywhere for it.
After flashing Adeo fb never would sync for me and the motoblur account couldn't be modified. I remember it saying I couldn't delete the fb account w/o factory reset. I did SBF, GladRoot, updated & ran AfterUpdate to retain root. Now my social networking syncs properly again, something about Adeo broke it. It works so well I was getting duplicate notifications back to back for fb messages so I disabled notifications for messages on the fb app.

What you said seems to be working. It is definitely synching quicker than before, not as perfect as I'd like but nothing is perfect about Motorblur haha. Thanks for the tips!

Notion Ink Email V1.5

-From Adam Firmware 1.5, software version 0.9-
So just tried the new Adam email client on my Nook running Honeycomb and it worked fine. A lot of the bugs from the first version have been sorted out - it now links to your contacts and seems to download files.
Just place the apk in your system//app directory
I will test out the other programs, but so far:
- the calendar seems to still force close when adding a new appointment.
Finally! Installs fine and runs on decent speed on CM7. This could be the email app I've been waiting for

Yep, that should work. You might try renaming the original first - just in case!
Anyone know how to get this working with a Yahoo mail account?

Hey smiley,
Possibly my labling. This email is from Firmware for adam 1.5. They have updated the app, but the version still appears to be 0.9! You should see a massive improvement in its performance.
Michael
How do U install it guys?Dont U have system replace error?
Kind like the old icon better, is there a way to get the icon back. Updated from Phiremod 6.3.
It works for me. v0.9
Like dsf3g asked. Any ideas on how to set up Yahoo or Hotmail?
Also, how can you delete an account from the app, because i now get mail from both this and the Gmail app.
Don't want to uninstall the Gmail app but i just might have to.

Under the main Settings for the Nook, in Accounts & Sync, disable Gmail sync. That'll let you use this app instead of Gmail without having to uninstall anything.
Not sure how to remove an account from Mail'd though. Hope that helps.

How well does mail'd handle labels and archiving in gmail, as compared to the gmail app itself?
How about attachments?

Much better IMO. The Gmail app I find looks too cluttered, and because this has a metro layout it works and looks much better.
Awesome! This version seems much cleaner than the old version.
Why does it look the same to me concerning the look?

this won't load up my exchange account.. i really wish it did though.
it consistently makes me fill out outgoing, SMTP info which... there is no smtp with exchange.
woof
Jewnersey,
make the smtp server the same as the incoming server. At least that's what worked for me.

Syncing contacts

I have a question about the 2.3.4 hktw build is there a fix to sync Facebook contacts? I know blur isn't being used but is there another method to add fb contacts to address book
Try the blur fix.
I wish there was a way to fix exchange syncing. I can't get my email or contacts.

I've been using the version from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775007. It can be installed alongside BlurEmail from Motorola. It uses a separate "Exchange" type account outside of MotoBlur under accounts.
Note: This version has been hacked to remove the Exchange security features. Using this against secured, corporate Exchange is grounds for firing in some companies. (If anyone has stock Gingerbread email without this hack, I would love to have a copy.)
I use it against Zimbra, because BlurEmail frequently truncates Zimbra emails with no option to "Get More". Using this on 2.2.x allowed me to read all my email, but I couldn't click on links or copy text from the email. It seems to work perfectly on 2.3.4 though.
Just found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15164552 that was pulled from 2.3.4 samsung. It might work for you too without the concern about the security hack. I haven't tried it though.
EDIT: I installed this version. It seems to work fine. In the menu there is an icon that looks like a Volume icon that seems to actually be refresh.
That was an easy fix by just creating a new motor blur acount and adding the social networks to the accounts tab.

Not sure but I seem to remember that you need to be rooted to install the blacked out version.

What do you mean by "blacked out" version? Pls explain in detail.
It's a modded version. Read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191870&highlight=blacked
The OP was in fact referring to this modded version.
I also have 2.3.5 original installed in my unrooted SGS2 and of course this one works like a charm.

Baah! I saw the screen shots in that thread, and if the only difference between a "blacked out" gmail 2.3.5 and a normal gmail 2.3.5 is the inverted color of the background, then what's the fuss about? If you want black backround and grey text, then you already have that in Social Hub. Just access your gmail from Social Hub if you like the background to be black. What's the big deal
The hub is bloatware. It's buggy and less functional than the original app. I much prefer the white background gmail app than hub's email app, even considering the highest power drained by the white theme.
In addition, the original email app has push protocol that i like much, and better label/directory management!

I don't consider the Social Hub to be bloatware.....neither have I experienced any bugs in it. It's a useful tool for seeing all your email, sns & message streams in one place. Although I personally prefer other dedicated professional apps for my social networks, I use the Social Hub for all my various email accounts. It bifurcates the mails according to dates, which the gmail app does not.
Yes, apps like Yahoo finance, Readers Hub, Games Hub are definitely bloatware. To each his own. Cheers!
What I don't like of the email client of the Social hub is that it is the one included by default in android, which is not push type and every email I send with it, is wrongly reported by the client as being sent twice: the first correctly, and the second to a long list of duplicated addressees... In addition every email received is notified both in the hub and in the default email client, but clearing one notification does not automatically clear also the other so every email notification has to be cleared twice.
However I do reckon that's just my personal experience with it, so perhaps others more good than me at configuring it may not find it so bad.
