http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-2Z2dKsuio&list=FLq6vs0dzU4QAm-7XTofKelQ&feature=mh_lolz
everything went well i have root access and installed rom manager no problem..
but when i try to either reboot to recovery or try to install cyanogen mod i get this happeneing to me... i made a video sorry for the blurry cam it was made with the nexus one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7cxryEC5ig
thank you all greatly for your help and please ask any questions.. Have a great day all

Anyone plz?

Hey dude. Did you root through Odin? If so you need to check the development thread for the CWM tar. Make sure its for your phone. You don't have clockwork installed and ROM manager can't install it. You may think you installed it through rom manager but it didn't

Hey gq thanks for the response. When I go to Tom manager it asks me what version off the Samsung galaxy s2 I have and I pick the at&t version.
Can you point me to the correct thread? Much appreciated

i dont know what im doing wrong.... i just redid everything using the wiki on the clock work mod wiki http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II_(AT&T):_Full_Update_Guide
and still cant flash cyanogen

I think I'm gonna give up. This is taking way to much time.

[Q] P7510 Stuck on Samsung Logo

Hello everyone,
- This is my first post here seeking for help
- I'm new to the ROM and Rooting stuff
- I was hoping that after installing a developer rom will fix the wifi issue that I had after upgrading from 3.1 to 3.2 !
- Here is what I did :
1- I've rooted my wifi GTab 10.1 - android 3.2 successfully using Odin.
2- I installed the : [Task650's KMM(ANDROID 3.2!!!)]
3- When I rebooted the device it is stuck on samsung logo with the glowing thing around it.
4- I tried to do a wipe data/ factory reset. "it does the thing but it says before :can't access to '/system/csc/XAB/system/'."
and now it's still stuck on samsung logo for more than an hour !
DID I KILL MY SWEET TABLET ?
plz Help me!
thank you
here is an image of what shows up on the screen when i try to install from a zip file in the sd folder

So please share the solution with us. I am in the same situation and i don't know what to do.
he simply installed CWM Recovery which is needed for custom roms. As you can see from the screenshot he posted, he was using stock recovery.

search the forums and your question shall be answered!
I've found my solution that was to use Overcome's recovery...i just think that an answer like "a smart friend of mine fixed it" wont help anyone that enters here in the future.

[Q] Clockworkmod Recovery for wrong device?

I am using Samsung Galaxy Y [S5360]
rooted recently and tried to get CWM recovery using Rom Manager
to cut long story short I used cwm for Galaxy 5[I5500]
[Q] Can this cause any problem in proper functioning of cwm.
[Q] Seems like everytime I use the hardware buttons to boot into recovery, cwm gets overwritten.. any solution?
P.S. Excuse me if there are any similar questions, I did search..

CWM not suppoted for Galaxy y
From a google search, as of Nov. 19th of 2011 there are only odin flashable roms for your phone. CWM is not supported for your phone. Whether the version that flashed to your phone through RomManager will work or not i cannot say as i don't own a galaxy 'y.' And i can only assume that it could cause an issue. Hope you are able to make friends with a dev and they are able /willing to help you out.. There are also other threads in this forum and others related to your problem. Maybe your could look there. I know of someone trying to get some custom roms on your phone on another forum and they were trying to talk someone through root and getting a back up of the phone's original rom.
I still have under the allotted amount of posts to give you a link but if you just google "custom roms for galaxy y" you should be able to find some decent things. Hope i helped in some way.

Do not say that we are not helpfull man!
Maybe no one that read your post has found a solution yet!!!
I actually stopped in this thread once ready to help this guy out but he mentions he is on froyo...
MY device came with Gingerbread, so rooting is as easy as user superoneclick (heck, there is a youtube video talking about how easy it is to root on the 5 but the 4 will be able to do the same). Sadly, advising this with this froyo uncertainty might have the potential of bricking the device, so I passed by this thread saying nothing. So I'll just do this...
Did you do a OTA update through your device's settings and check if there is a Firmware update? Once in Settings, go near the bottom and click the ABOUT button and click system updates - wifi is of course needed but wifi is everywhere even Mcdonalds for free. Update your rom accordingly to get to Gingerbread at least on the device. Then check this video -
www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA4bw8bU4T4
Once rooted, check this thread to choose your kernal and rom you want to flash -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457
I highly advise Ethereal rom [or Icy Fusion], and for the kernal Terrasilent [or Klin Rev 3] . Be sure to flash the Kernal FIRST not the rom so you can have recovery features in case things go wrong.
P.S. You probably got bypassed btw due to heavy focus is being brought towards other thread s like the ICS thread for 4.0 device or everyone has a thread they particular hang out in. Or it could be that these type of threads like yours pop up so often every month that the people here just glaze over the threads like these telling themselves why don't they do a search in google (like I searched "root samsung Galaxy Player 4" and my first link above is the first one that pops up in google, which is the video i referenced to root mine the first time) or check the All in one thread in the developers section of the Samsung Galaxy Player 4/5 forum (which I linked above as well). I don't mind helping though but that might be because I'm kinda still new here...

Still at 2.2.2 sucks. Odin doesnt detect my Galaxy Player 4.0
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
You can use Samsung's Kies to upgrade to the latest firmware.
However if you have rooted and modified some stuff, there might be a chance of getting your device bricked.
Also, make sure you have pressed Power+VolDown+Home key to get into flashing mode when you use odin.

Wait a minute, which odin are you using? You need odin 1.7 to flash on the YP-G1.
Yes sir i use the one in ur thread 1.7. My galaxy y detects odin but my yp is not. Maybe i should use the own yp usb cable and not the cable from sgy do u think thats the problem?

Maybe, I never saw a case where a phone is recognized and the other device isn't. The only alternative I could is is heimdall but it's longer than odin. Assuming you have tried all the usb ports on your computer. Have you tried to flash on another computer?
NOT YET SIR, maybe i should try to other PC with vista OS
heimdal is for linux os isn't?

i9305 rooting error

Hi guys,
First of all thank you for all the awesome tips and tricks here, I really learned a lot from the community.
I have a samsung i9305 which I recently purchased to replace my i9300.
I downloaded super su and busy box to my phone but then they didn't work because my phone wasn't rooted (stupid me, i forgot)
so I tried rooting it using this method:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914394
and followed each and every instruction perfectly but then my phone wasn't getting rooted (checked on rootchecker basic, although settings stated that my device is modified and triangle counter is 2)
so i did it twice but I still got the same result.
Then I tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273
And I thought it worked properly (since when my phone booted up it said that it was updating the OS)
but then my super su installation was gone and every time I try to open root checker it just gets stuck on the (your system appears to be slow...) and it never finishes checking. Also, sometimes the apps won't open.
Can anyone help me with this issue? I don't want to break/brick this new phone. :crying:
I'm currently downloading the original firmware and im hoping to unroot it by flashing it via odin later. But it's a zip file right and we need the .md5 thing to flash on odin? how do i flash it?
I hope you can help me out and I'm really sorry for the hassle.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Might wanna try the correct forum.

No need to be sorry, I understand the sense of urgency when something goes wrong with your device.
The Mega is my 3rd device while a member here, but folks here with the Note are the best and very knowledgeable. Just need some patience sometimes. I know it can be tough.

Pay close attention to steps 16-17. Good Luck.
After this update to the newest recovery- cwm or TWRP (making sure you get the working versions for our device) and the development forums are your oyster so to speak.
Edit: Sometimes just flashing a superuser app will do the trick if this is your only issue, but if you came from stock this is how I started back in the day.
Edit: Some ROMs also require root access in developer options set to "apps and adb".
