Can the DR take screenshots without root? like power +home? i've been searching and trying different combos but can't seem to figure it out... anyone know?

I'm going to root my 3D when an ICS ROM is available, yet I want to make sure that this security update won't make it any harder to root with 1.500 hboot. Anyone have advice?

If you're already on 1.5 hboot then I doubt it'd make a difference. You should still wait til more info is unearthed though just in case.

Anyone who is both rooted, and would like to stay that way, knows to pass on it. Just wait til your favorite ROM has been updated with this new update cooked in.

I believe there is an unroot.zip floating around somewhere. I stumbled across it a while back, but never used it. You can also flash a complete stock RUU and go back to factory as well.

Thy don't take your old phone when you upgrade so you won't need to unroot. Unless you are sending the phone in as an exchange toward the new phone. In which case, you will need to unrest and lock the boot loader.

Anyone know how to get ##prl# to work with sense 3.6? Gets old nandroiding back to a GB Rom, ect. Tried all the old epst.apk's but no luck. For whatever reason...qpst can't find my port on ics either.

I'm wondering this too. I was really hoping the stock Sprint ICS would have this ability. I don't use the Verizon PRL all the time, but about 2 hours a day I work in an area where I NEED data, and sprint has nothing. I too am annoyed having to take 20 minutes to nandroid back to a GB rom.
Yea, this has been a question of mine since running 3.6 since may. Been trying things, reading, searching, ect so I'd figure I'd finally ask.

I cannot post in the development page yet..... can someone please link me the download page for CM 10, would love to mess around with it.
Also i am not rooted yet, i took the OTA and now can root with the roots currently available, If i do a full wipe to factory will it also take out the OTA so i can root my EVO?

yes I know it wont take out root, however i am not currently rooted, I took the OTA update to fix Gwallet. Is there a way to get back to the original version of sense so i can root?
I don't think so, someone please correct me if I'm wrong as I don't believe in otas, but once u take it, it will always revert to the latest update rather than the original version.

That's what i was afraid of.... got a little trigger happy for gwallet, wanted to wait till after my thirty days to root....... gwallet fix came before the end of the thirty days, now CM10 is launching and wished i hadn't taken the OTA

There were root options that fixed it within days of it being borked. Long before the ota. Oh well, you live and learn
Also, nobody can link you to the cm10 download page. If you want the ROM you HAVE to go to IRC to get it. Theres a sticky with a link in it in the general section.

HTC dev puts many restrictions on you. You can't flash radios, splash screens, or kernels from recovery, and you can't flash anything via bootloader.

well if you look, you will see that i am unable to fix my dna, i can boot to fastboot and into cwm recovery, but unable to restore my backup. cant wipe anything, i really have no clue. im planning on reporting this phone lost/stolen so it will have a bad esn. and i want to give this phone to a developer that would like to tinker with it, heck the right developer might be able to restore it back to normal. at this point i am still trying to restore it myself, but within the next few hours if i cant fix it, then i would like to know if any developers in here would like to take it. i know itll have a bad esn, but i see it as a test dummy to test roms on. kinda like my way of saying thanks to the developers for providing their hours of hard work to get great features and roms to us users.
You try RUU?
Try to fix it but if you can't give it to a dev that can tinker with it and find a new s-off method for 2.04
