This won't work for GSM Razr right?

Hi...sorry for the noob-ish question, but when I type this command into my Mac terminal, I get the following error message:
-bash: cd: Downloads/DroidRazrRootMacLinux: No such file or directory
Now, the downloaded file is DEFINITELY in my Downloads folder, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I was able to follow directions pretty well when I rooted my Thunderbolt using the terminal and some adb commands. Do you have any thoughts you might want to share? I appreciate your help.

Never mind. I don't mind admitting I'm an idiot. I went ahead and unzipped the downloaded file and all is right with the world. I'm the proud owner of a rooted Razr. Thanks for your work on this, and thanks for sharing.

I can't get the method to work on my new Droid Razr from my Mac. All I get is a message on the bash screen - "daemon started successfully" - Then nothing. I opened the file, checked all the comments - unplugged and re-started my USB cable (charge only) - no activity. Thoughts?

Many thanks for making a Mac version! Worked first time no issues!

can u upload the bootatnimation? gsm versions dont get that nice animation =(

This method is not compatible with 651.150.1.xt910.retail.en.eu yet
Correct?
EDIT: Answer is no

Well, if the question is whether this method is NOT compatible with this version, the correct answer would be "yes", because it's indeed not compatible.

First off thanks to SilentStormer, lenny_kano and any others for making this work. Their thread can be found Here, I just put it in a flashable zip.
I'm not sure if you still need to re-name or delete GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk in /System/app/. but it might be a good idea.
Flash supplied zip.

Voice search and playback are working just fine. Cards also show up, but sometimes she would finish talking before one would show, but it was rare.
I have only tested this on DevilToast 0.7.2. But I think it should work for any ICS rom. Please let me know if it works for you and what rom you have so we know.
This zip will only work on CDMA devices, I believe. For GSM you can just pull the files out and push them to their respective places. If you do, make sure you set correct permissions on Velvet.apk. The others don't matter.

1) su
2) mv /system/build.prop /system/build.bad
3) mv /system/build.prop.bak /system/build.prop

If you see the files that we renamed listed properly restart your phone then try to check for updates.

Hmm okay,
this isn't good.
You need to get back onto the stock XT910K ROM. I'm not exactly sure how to do it at this point, but what's happening with your phone now? Either way I'm going to try to somehow get a hold of the fastboot files through the firmware team.
Here is the OTA you might need once you get back onto the stock firmware (if you get restored to gingerbread):
http://main.develoid.com:81/motorola/RAZR/ICS OTA/Blur_Version.65.3.106.XT910K.KT.en.KR.zip
There is also a nandroid for your phone (which we could have used to restore it before it was bricked), although... I am wondering how far into the flash did you get before it bricked?
Here is the nandroid:
http://main.develoid.com:81/motorol...BM_kt_nandroid_backup-2012-08-10_Ritz_Via.zip
and
http://main.develoid.com:81/motorola/RAZR/Nandroid Backup/SS_kt_nandroid_backup-2012-09-25_sono.zip
The main website has a lot of RAZR information... you might find it helpful, you might not.
http://main.develoid.com:81/motorola/RAZR/
Also, please don't remove any of the screenshots you've uploaded, let's try to get your phone back up and running together, with the firmware team's help.

Root XT910 Jelly Bean (EASY way)

I apologize if this has already been mentioned elsewhere, I did skim through the main posts and perform a search for the general topic. This root method is basicly just djrbliss' over @ droidrzr.com except it was massively simplified by another user named marty45714. So essentially this is technically now a method to root xt910 using windows! And its SUPER simple, especially for non Linux users like myself. Here is a direct quote of his post:
"Moderator,
I spent the weekend working on something really lightweight to get this done easily, and I've finally got it working and ready.
Using Oracle VirtualBox with a Tiny Core Linux VM, I've managed to get this down to a 46 MB download.
Everything is automatic... helps the user get connected to SMB, then helps with getting connected with USB debugging before running the exploit.
I spent most of the entire weekend tweaking with Tiny Core Linux to get this ready. Please share. Where's the best place to start a new thread to get the word out about this?
Here are the steps:
1) Install Sun VirtualBox on your Windows PC. [EDIT: Link ---> https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads <--- Provided my MichelBFR, aint he swell? ]
2) Download the VirtualBox .ova file here:
dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/bb53ayj5c3nd5ie/Root_Bionic_JB.ova?token_hash=AAGSOYfPuDXTur_e9qlYl2JRERovPyfMwe-2xNzHXg4Lxg&dl=1 [EDIT: Link dead, see below]
3) Import the .ova file into VirtualBox. (Click "File" then "Import Appliance".)
4) Start the imported VM in VirtualBox (Click the big "Start" Button. It has a green arrow icon.)
5) Follow the instructions on the Linux console."
I also apologize for not coding links etc, I am not an advanced forum user. I just really wanted to share this with anyone who may not have come across this as of yet. If any of you need any further assistance I can try to help as I have successfully used this method and I know absolutely nothing about linux. Enjoy!
EDIT: New link uploaded for step #2 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?84f3hkx11bpl3fc <---- Thanks MichelBFR!!! [LINK UPDATED]

Yes I believe so as it needs to connect to the samba servers to complete the process.

No problem.
But I forgot to mention another detail about the USB detection. You need to enable the Razr in the Virtual Box config before. Press CTRL + S and do as the screen:
Then the Virtual Box will detect your phone and continue the root process.

I'm taking some screens of my phone trying to show you how to connect with the Virtual Box.
It's simple. You will fill the login fields with the info provided by the Virtual Box.
I am doing it on my laptop . So can anyone tell me if my laptop and phone both are connected to the same wifi instead of LAN so would that work .
Hit the thx button if i helped ya in anyways
can someone please post a fresh link to the download? it's 502'd. Cheers!!!

About
The WinDroid Toolkit is a Windows program built in Visual Studio using the C# programming language that simplifies the rooting process for many Android devices. The toolkit makes it easy to unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery and gain permanent root. It also includes other functions such as flashing kernels, pushing files and installing apps. If you find it helpful, give me a thanks and a donation if you can. If you find a bug or have a feature request, feel free to leave a reply. Thanks!

I am using the new DevDB interface. Take a look at the black bar at the top of the page. There is a tab labeled "Downloads".
Not compatible with Win 8
Even in Comp Mode Win 8 won't let this launch
Thoughts / Tips?
Edit: Got it to work but now it gets stuck in Token
Windows can't Recognize the Device
Not exactly sure what the point of this gui interface is if you have to type in everything but the command. Actually more confusing to try and use this app than just running a command prompt. Example to push pull a file with this this app you need to still know the directory of everything on your phone, which most people won't know how to do. This app wants you to type in /sdcard/download/Filename.file to to pull a file from your phone. the only thing missing is adb pull.
You are really better off learning the actual commands or googling them and just install the sdk. Not only that, but the unlock/s-off features are already in other threads. The two links below are probably more than 90% of people are going to ever need.

Which S-OFF method does this use and why isn't there any credit for it in the OP?
Just got a DNA and now looking to s-off and all. interesting new layout for the download links and all, i usually use the xda classic. I saw a download link for 1.2 but didn't see a change log, which do you suggest to use? i see a big difference in file size, about 22mb on the new one.
Thanks
Is this using RevOne or Moonshine as you don't explain which software version this works for and many people are flooding the forums since they took advantage of the free upgrade from Vzw when they introduced the HTC One.
perfect work, thank you...
So is this confirmed to work? I'm still a little adamant about unlocking / rooting.
Major update to version 2.0! Check it out and provide some feedback on the new design! :highfive:
Looks great. I'm on Windows 8.1, and I get stuck here when the phone goes into fastboot mode:
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)
A device which does not exist was specified."
Does this even work for Windows 8?

Under what conditions did this error occur? Was this an error on Windows or on the phone itself?
