i just called them up, my phone was still in warranty, so i had one free replacement, just give support a call, let them know your having battery issues and you should be able to get one

Yep, this phone rules. Love the fact that it works so good as a PHONE too, the way they all should. Motorola has it down. My best since the latest update was over 40 hours, with a few hours worth of phone calls.

Wow that's awesome. Now did you do anything else special like turning off data etc.

I use custom data saver mode set to turn off data automatically after 15 min all day and night. That way I don't have to bother switching data on and off manually. Plus, it comes on very fast when I turn the screen on. I do keep BT and WIFI off when not in use, brightness at 25%. I also use the built in task killer to auto kill a few apps that want to keep running, like Facebook. I'm locked, but rooted running stock rom, and I used battery calibrator app after the update which helped. Although, before the update I was getting pretty much the same battery life.

And with me, believe it or not, I have the brightness all the way down, (you'd be surprised how bright the screen still is!!!!!) That's my only real secret to even better battery life

I did the same thing with moto, except i was getting great battery life to begin with. I just wanted a second battery.

One thing that I don't get though is why the phone always wakes up on it's own. My heroc and Evo 3D didn't do that, with the same apps installed. It kinda concerns me.

Just wanted to post new battery settings:
- Running Skinny ROM, unlocked, rooted
- Actually stopped overclocking the phone - max is 1000 Mhz
- Undervolt @ -75mV
- Juice Defender - Customized Settings (wondering if Aggressive is better)
- I did go through two nights on Airplane mode 14hrs
- Alarm I hear is what causes the phone to be "awake" at night...
Well, I'd say it's been pretty impressive...though I didn't text much and wasn't on too many phone calls, I'd say 24 hours of use w/ 10% left isn't too shabby. I could have probably gotten another couple of hours.

Battery life is very short

Hello,
I purchased my Motorola Droid X2 two days ago from Verizon, but I noticed that it has a very short battery life, especially when on 3G. The battery lasts for 10 hrs with very moderate usage of the phone.
Is there any solution for this? Maybe a 3G toggle widget?

I recommend using the in rom task manager, making most cpu / ram heavy apps auto close
I would disagree about using any task managers. I strongly suggest removing all accounts in your account manager except for gmail. If you want twitter, facebook, etc. Log in within those apps and not through account manager. Motor blur syncs like every 15 min and there is no way to change that.

I use "DCSwitch" to turn off data. It works fantastically, and really helps with the battery life. If I know I'm not going to be around a charger for awhile, I'll flip off data, then just turn it on when I want to check up on email, facebook, twitter, etc. It even comes in a nice widget you can put next to the power control widget, same style and all. One click and it's off!
I don't have enough posts to actually put the market link, but just search it and it should come up.

I get 12+ hours on stock battery under moderate use, and I don't use any juice defend majiggers or taskmagilicutties. Just take my suggestion previously posted. Oh and freeze both news apps unless you use them.

ordered the extended battery last night this stock battery just isnt working for me
on my note with stock 2.2 the battery sucked because of all of the bloat/garbage you won't need, upon rooting and freezing my battery life flew up =p
+ another big factor was using wifi over 3g if your in a rural area
now i'm having battery issues again with gingerbread because phone idle eats up probably 3/4 of what display does, which is ALOT and it's annoying
i wonder what the fix to that could be, sigh, time to wait for a rom to come along
Also Try Underclocking The CPU, There Are Free Apps In The Market. Definitely Would Help I Got Mine Set At 816,000 For My Daily Driver Use.

Twitter can fix the 2.3.6 battery issue

We all need to tweet our concern about the battery life after the 2.3.6 Update. Be specific about 2.3.6 Update and Galaxy S2 I777.
Use @SamsungMobileUS and be sure to use the hashtag #DudeYoureABarista (this is their current marketing crap hashtag)
3 tweets won't get this done.
( yes there are other ways)

Don't say 2.3.6 update, say UCKK6 - that indicates a very specific broken build.

Well everyone would have great battery life if they only had their screen on for 5 seconds like you.
Also, with hardly no screen time, your phone is awake quite a bit.

Possible Resolution to battery Drain Issue
I called Samsung Support and they helped me to change the wifi sleep policy from "never" to "when screen turns off". This resulted in using up less than 10% of my battery last night from 11PM to 7AM.
Action Taken:
1. Settings
2. Wireless and Network
3. Wifi Settings
4. Click Menu Button (next to Home Button) and Select Advanced
5. Select Wi-Fi sleep policy
6. Change it from "Never" to either "Never when plugged in" or "When Screen turns off".
7. One person reported success rebooting their phone after making these changes. For me I did not have to reboot.
I also thought that this may increase my hspa+ data usage, but it was hardly noticeable last night.
Yea...you're actually getting terrible battery life smarty pants

my battery drainage varries based on the rom I'm running... best battery has come from UnNamed and SHOStock.
I got a full day on 2.3.4 no way I'm switching to 2.3.6.

This happens with custom roms too. It is the wifi bug that Entropy512 noted in the other thread.
I'm getting around 20 hours on unnamed ROM with the mentioned wifi sleep policy setting. Is this good? I read my rss feeds like 5-6 times a day, make about 1 hour of phone calls, read autoguide forums like 5-6 times as well. I think it's ok?

Is my Thunderbolt losing battery too quickly?

My rate of battery loss is insane. I can sometimes lose more than 14% an hour while using it. That's with cm7 and the extended/fat battery! Is this normal for heavy use or is there something inherently wrong with my phone.

what apps and hardware (bluetooth, etc) are you using? what is your birightness set at? are you using 4G?
No bluetooth. Mostly baconreader for reddit. 4g strangely makes no difference. Normally it is off, but I have found that the angle of descent is not impacted by switching. Brightness always sub 40%

Is that an antivirus in the first screen?
My brightness (in a profile) is set to 15% and I run that 24/7 unless I'm outside making a phone call or something to see the screen . . .
Could be the antivirus. Have you tried battery calibration by nema? (In market) I'm running infected and using the same battery (OEM right?) And I get about 5% drain an hour with 4g on and screen on about half the time. Sometimes more or less depending on usage.

Doesn't that just clear the batterystats file on the Sd card? That doesn't affect use unfortunately.

I could be wrong, but isnt juicedefender an app constantly running? Have you tested your battery without that app?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA
First off thanks, I now feel better about my battery life. in my opinion battery life depends on a lot of things. Juice defender didn't seem to play well with my phone. I only turn on wifi when I need it. Also I would charge to phone to 100% and reboot into recovery and clear the battery stats. Not sure if any of that would help, but it can't hurt to try.
I've noticed a bit more accurate readings when resetting battery stats, which is why I suggested it.
Otherwise, you could try a complete backup of all your apps and trying a different rom?
My battery lasts about 14 hrs with regular to heavy use. 11 hrs on the fat battery seems like its way too low. Have you rooted and unclocked?
I would unistall juice defender. You can set up the phone just as well without it and have one less app running (which uses battery)
I have an avg of about 12 hrs fully cycle since i bought my phone over a year ago. I have to make sure that all the setting (i.e. GPS off, wifi off, screen turned all the way down) are always correct to push anything past the 12 hr mark.
Your best bet is do like the rest of us and make sure you have a charger always ready if you are ALWAYS using it.

Rom with best battery life?

Hey guys anyone know from experience which Rom gives you the very best battery life? I'm a somewhat heavy user and trying to get my note to last me through the day. Or the best tweaks that don't take away too much from performance and convience? Thanks a ton.
No one rom does, everyone will claim the rom they use does
I'm a heavy user
No rom will give me 2 days, although folks will claim it
It all depends on how you use your phone
If you're a "light" user, then any rom will give you long life cuz you're not using your phone
Best thing is to put a screen filter app on any rom you choose, that'll extend your life since the screen is biggest hog
Or wait til we get kernels with undervolting
In my experience the people that constantly complain about battery life are horrible at managing their device. If you don't have ****ty apps spying on you while running unnecessary processes in the background you a should get through the whole day. my note comes off the charger at 9am and has about 15% battery left by 2am. That's with plenty of screen on time and watching an episode from hulu on 4g. I am on wifi about 70% of the day though. Screen off timeout is set to 1 minute and weather and stock updates every 4 hours.
I download nothing unless the app maker is well known and trusted and I believe that is important. Some live wallpapers want full network access.no thank you.
P.s. Don't use the one percent battery meter.ignorance its bliss trust me. I'm so much happier not knowing the exact percentage.

Well right now I don't have anything running (climbing on OP feed)
Startup Manager I have bought which supposedly will stop programs at startup. Any thoughts? I've read where it ia better to let things run naturally. I have about 100 apps.
Samsung has built in power saver? Used from time to time..anyone else use this? Juice defender better?
There is a spreadsheet pn here that says gives unnecessary apps we can delete. Suggested???
Without creating another similar thread would love to hear some thoughts.

I just went back to the Note. I have very few apps other than stock. My main usage is exchange email, web, calls and texts. Running stock I get about 9 hours or so depending on calls.
My only gripe is when I do travel and use GPS Navigation the car charger struggles to keep up even with the screen off. Hope a new kernel will resolve this issue

It's not as much of a kernel issue as it is a characteristic of the hardware. No amount of kernel tuning will magically allow, say, the display to consume less power while being at the same brightness. Make sure your car charger is capable of putting out the full 1 A current that the Note can pull. If you are running with the screen at full brightness, GPS for Navigation, 4G data to pull down map tiles, and Bluetooth to your car, the Note will need about 1 A of power. Check the Accessories forum for many threads on which car adapters and USB cables will work with the Note. I am using a Bracketron 12V adapter, and it is able to keep up with the Note running full tilt.
Out of all I've tried, so far KING KANG from DaGr8 has given me the best battery life.

Battery ZV6

On Wifi, my battery life is fine. It takes a couple hours to fall off the 100% mark. At work my battery will fall 8-10% within a couple hours. This only seems to be since going from ZV4 to ZV6. At 1st I thought is was the trade off for better performance, but I don't think that's the case now. Greenify doesn't seem make a difference outside of my home wifi. My gsam battery app shows android system is the main culprit after screen. Could it be the ZV6 radio to blame?

I average about 5.5hr of screen on time with mild to heavy usage (ZV6), which on this high power screen I think is pretty great. This is with me barely ever being on wifi since I'm hardly ever at home to use it being due to my profession as a field insurance adjuster. And I use my phone literally all day long whether its emails, phone calls, texts, or surfing for general information. So, Im not sure what you are considering "bad" as far as battery, but I am not complaining at all.

Usually, charge the phone up to 100%, run it down to about 10% charge it back up and it usually has to learn how the ROM runs.
But glad you got it working.

If I recall it used to be an option in TWRP and Clockwork. Never knew why they took it out. In my case, clearing stats seems to have worked. That was a good read you provided with interesting comments.
