Which micro sd card? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I am thinking to get some additional memory for my beloved sgs2 and I am thinking of 16gb one, but I don't know which class of the card to buy. I can get class 4 for 15-18 euros, and class 10 at around 30. What would you suggest? Thanks

Sandisk mobile ultra class 4.

i have this one: Kingmax microSDHC 16GB Class6 and is working great.
It's very fast and did not make any problems so far.
There is a picture of it:
http://www.cel.ro/carduri-memorie/card-de-memorie-kingmax-microsdhc-16gb-class6-plus-adaptor-l/

Sandisk all the way: they'recreliable and fast. Class 4 ones are pretty good: unexpensive and still really fast.

Thanks for replies! How much of video in full hd can be stored on 16gb card? Good thing to know that class 4 is not slow as the guy in the shop told me.

I don't see why it wouldn't but that is hella expensive for a 16gb. I bought a 16gb class 4 with the sd adaptor from amazon for ~$9. I'd take a class 4 for $9 over a class 6 for $40 any day.
I bought a SanDisk 32 gig class 10 from Best Buy a month ago for $45.

No reason why that card wouldn't work. I have a PNY 32GB Class 10 that works perfectly.
This is a much better deal btw..

Looking for a micro sd card

32gb micro sd card.
I was hoping to get a little help/insight on which is preferred.
I'm not to sure about class/specs.
Any help appreciated. Thanks

You can't go wrong with SanDisk. Class 10 is their latest/fastest speed.
If you want to save money, find yourself a Class 6 which is the next one down. I purchased a Class 6 64GB micro-card from a Best Buy sale for $49. I'm sure there are similar sales online though I don't think Best Buy is doing it anymore.
Search for them on Amazon, lots of results!
Make sure the phone can handle a 64gb card before shelling out for it. I don't know the microsd slot spec on the GS3.

Whatever you buy, buy from a reputable seller (thousands of reviews not a few hundred) and not just on price. There are a lot of fake cards being sold. I bought a 32g SanDisk that was a fake, and it was only 8gb no matter what the card read as. The size can be fooled.
That said, I have not tried the latest SanDisk cards, but I have a SanDisk 32 class 6, and a Lexmark 32gb class 10. The Lexmark comes with a much nicer and more substantial usb adapter, the SanDisk came with the smallest utilitarian usb adapter. Both can be put on a key chain. I use the faster Lexmark in the phone. I find the usb adapter better than a sd card adapter which I tend to misplace, as well as being useful in computers without a sd card slot.

SanDisk 64GB Ultra MicroSDCX
I've heard nothing but good things about this card. It's pretty much top of the line too.
It's class 10 and UHC class 1. It's advertised as class 6 just because they haven't updated the web page, I emailed the seller.
It handles the 1080p video recording due to the fast read/write speeds.
shock resistant, water resistant (I think, go to sandisks website to view all the awesome details).
Anyways, this is definitely the card I'm getting. They offer a 32GB version as well, but that may be only class 6 (still probably plenty of speed).

Best micro sd to get

Hey everyone, just wanted to get some opinions before I purchase a new sd card. I originally had a 32 gb class 10 Patriot micro sd but I've lost it and looking to replace it with something different. I have been looking into the SanDisk 32gb and 64gb uhs class 1 micro sds the same but not really sure yet so leave your opinion on what sd card you are using and how the experience has been with it.
Thanks everyone

I got the 64 GB SanDisk Class 10 and it works great. No complaints so far. Haven't done any speed tests but I can watch movies from it with no lag & transferring files from PC to phone is pretty quick. So I would definitely recommend it. Before this I was using the Lexar 32 GB Class 10 and would also recommend that as well.

I'm using the sandisk 64 GB UHS class one card as well, and I've been very pleased with it. I've had no problems watching videos, saving pics and videos is quick, and in general I've had no problems. I just ran two tests in SD card tester, and I'm getting 16.2 MB/s and 16.6 MB/s reading and 6 MB/s and 12.91 MB/s for writing (that first test seemed low as I know I've tested it at more than 10 MB/s writing before, so I ran it again).
never had a problem with sandisk cards in my phones.

I own and use SanDisk ultra 64gb class 10 on my EVO 4g LTE and it runs great for the most part.
Though make sure you leave atleast 2-3gb of free space on it because if you fill it up full, the performance drops to the floor (less than 1mbytes/sec in write speed).
Also, if you happen to download a lot of stuff or change file names or move around files a lot on your sdcqrd, I discovered that it could also drop the performance of you sd card as it doesn't have trim to keep up performance like on ssd's. The simple fix for it would be to unmount and remount it under settings.
I would say, it is a good and reliable card as I didn't have any corrupted files even when I filled the card full

I have the SanDisk UHS-1 64GB micro-sd card. It is NOT a Class 1, like mentioned earlier!! It is comparable to a Class 10, if not faster!! I got mine on Amazon for $41 shipped, and got it in less than a week. Its great, I highly recommend it. I actually got 2, one for my EVO LTE and one for my Asus Infinity(TF700T). I upgraded to them from two SanDisk Class 4 32GB cards. HUGE improvement!!!

I picked up a 32 GB one also since they are 24.99 at radii shack. And from what I've read about them they ate suppose to be writable at class 10 speed or more and readable at ultra speed class 1 for video... But overall you can't beat the price

got sandisk 10 with adapter for like 20
I will second what leo said. Have had the Sandisk class 10 64gb for a while now and it works flawlessly. Amazon has them under $47
I've had two Sandisk microsd cards, a 16gb class 4, and a 64gb class 10, both failed. The second one I left overnight in my Sandisk usb reader overnight plugged into my laptop. Luckily, Sandisk sent me a new one quickly. But, I was un-aware of the fact that Sandisk sells microsd cards much faster than their Ultra cards. More money=more speed. Check-out their site for more details. Turns out, Ultra cards are one of their slowest cards.

Which is the Best 32gb sd for sgs2?

Anything that's class 10 is fast enough, eg for 1080p video. Transcend do a good one but if you don't mind paying a bit more then the SanDisk Extreme is excellent.

Sandisk Ultra Class 10.
I use class 4 16 gb instead of 32 gb class 10, feels better for me. Just look at the prices, there are these very cheap ones and expensive ones, try to buy one with a price that makes sense, in sd cards, generally pricey means durability, so focus on prices and get something your budget likes.

Hmm....currently using class 4 16gb sandisk with no problems. Thinking of expanding to 32 gb.
Price is secondary, i dont want to end up paying on a sd card which stops working after a few days of usage.
Just asking if anyone is using a 32gb with a good class with no issues and lags on their s2.
If yes, which one??

I have a class 10 32gb Lexar. It's read speed is brilliant - like all decent class 10 cards. It's write speed is quite low.
As a result I use my lexar sd for the storing of music, videos, apks etc. But I tend not to 'write' onto it with camera and video stuff. It will probably be fine but the write speed isn't that high so I don't want to risk errors or anything.
Thanks for ur advice guys

Samsung's honestly. Faster than the comparable class# sandisk, even when used in a phone, (the difference is even more pronounced on PC) and I have seen reports of sandisk failures. (But that may just be a artifact of the total # of cards). I've had my samsung UHS 1 since launch. Works great.
