Haven't heard my ringtone as yet, but playing music is noticeably louder and MUCH better quality than the TB.

Is there any sound boosting tweaks?

I recently came from the OG Evo, and have noticed that both in the earpiece while in a call and when my phone is ringing the sound level is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than what I was used to before. I'm missing calls and can't really hear people during calls. Is there any tweaks or apps to Max the level out. Thanks in advance

volume+ app on the market, or use QPST.

This may be a dumb question....

I am hard of hearing. What Rom or is just an app is recommended?.... has the best and clearest sound for music? Thank you in advance.

Through the speaker on the phone or headphones?
PowerAmp I believe has an EQ you can use to boost some levels, for the most part, the max volume is going to be a limitation of the phone.

Agreed, PA & headphones are the best you can do.
No ROM is going to matter much.
Thank you very much

Actually, it just occured to me -the headphone amp I use (Fiio E6) not only improves the sound of good quality headphones quite a bit, it will make the sound loud enough to totally deafen any normal person........

I thought the same thing until I saw how tiny this thing actually is.
It weighs absolutely nothing & is about the size of a matchbook.
Believe me, it is worth the little extra effort to use it & if you can't hear with this in place you would have to be completely deaf.

[Q] Beats Audio for Galaxy S3 GT-I9300

Hi guys, Im new to gs3 but not new to rooting ect, my friend wants to know if beats audio is availble and working on the new s3 on stock ICS. if so can you hook a brother up? im currently using beats audio on my ace
Much love
No, Beats is not supported. However, the audio quality is already very good and Supercurio is also working on his Voodoo kernel which improves the audio quality a lot (much better than Beats).

This x1,000,000.
The wolfson audio codec in the gs3 is top quality stuff, its already amazing and with supercurio showing it some voodoo magic it will be the ****!
Beats is a gimmick.
The "I want Beats Audio" threads are the only ones where I ever have to restrain myself from coming in and flaming people.
To the OP: rest assured, when the S3 gets Voodoo anyone who isn't near-deaf will forget all about Beats.

I agree with your point but the thanks were for the band in your signature!
I wouldn't call S3 sound quality bad but by no means would I call it good, because I've owned a lot of Nokias and the sound quality is just in a different league to Samsung, and I've tried Voodoo on my SGS1&2 but still not even close, and if I want to listen to some music I prefer to dig out my old N95.
Audio quality really depends on a lot of factors: music player, earphones, environment, music file, etc...
Comparing combinations of the above factors is impossible and counterproductive. It's better to compare each part of the "chain" individually.
So far the SGS3 comes very close to what I consider very good. It's not perfect, but then again, I'm waiting for Supercurio's work to be finished. Compared to my HTC Desire and my old iPod nano 2nd gen, it is really good and I hardly dare to ask for more.

I tried same tracks, same headphones and same equalizer settings and also manually changing them, but my N95 beats it with maximum volume and all through the range, and I just find the S3 sound dull and muted in comparison.
Beat's is completely portable to the SIII.
This feature although controversial will be in our next Warm ROM installment for the SIII.
I just posted a link to the dsp manager app. I like it better than beats because of customization ability.

That's funny considering the S2 never had nor was it capable of voodoo sound.
Just took back the beautiful beast evo lte and I might go with the s3, not sure yet... @ Myn, Samsung got really lucky to have you as a dev this time around, I hope they know that;-)

I have some Sennheiser IE80s. Love them
How to get Beats Audio on your SGS3:
1. Use a music player with an equaliser
2. Increase the gain of all low frequency bands to maximum
And voila, instant Beats Audio!

I had a similar problem with my HTC EVO 3D GSM, however it was also with Viper ROM but when calling, the person I called complained that the mic had a hollow and crackly sound to it...
Getting back to the problem:
My suggestions, if you are rooted, flash a stable RELIABLE rom with no extra tweaks, etc. and see if it gives any problems, if the crackling remains, you know what the problem is, replace speaker
If it goes away, reflash the rom but have a look for twaeks, etc. but in my opinion, the best is Android Revolution 4.0 rom, it works the best, and is most stable, the AOPK is quite buggy, and slow @ times but I always liked the DeSenced roms with AOPK
Hope this helps!!!
Thanks I reflashed back to stock, but the problem is still there, so for sure I know its the speaker, thanks for the reply

Low ringing sound

Is anyone feeling that the ringing sound is very low compared to the music played through the speakers?

This......not so good!! Had a few phones with low ringtones, very annoying. Was hoping the Z2 to be on par with the G2 as I found that ringtone volume excellent!

How is the overall call volume? Is it loud enough?
Why do manufacturers do these dumb things?
I wanted the loud speakers mainly for the loud ringing advantage, as I set my phone down in one corner of the house and often miss calls as I can't hear it from the other rooms.
Hopefully there's a fix.

Apparently call volume is low too...
Everything was looking so promising for the Z2...[emoji22]
Can't be doing with a phone with low ring/notification sound...remember on the Sony Ericsson X1 the amount of calls and SMS I missed due to low (and poor quality sound).

Seriously, I don't know why every review I've read so far talks about the power front facing stereo speakers when the volume is really so poor. What's the use?
Looks more like a software glitch to me.
One more bug I find was the volume indicator which appears when you press the volume rocker doesn't seems to be moving continously the correct volume levels. Again, not sure whether it's just me alone with this bug.

Well it's a complete deal breaker for me. Seriously thinking of cancelling my pre-order
My opinion. Both call and ringer volume are more than sufficient.

Well, it depends on you, but I feel it's a software issue as I could hear loudly when I play music. So it can't be a hardware issue. It could be a matter of bug fix update from Sony to fix it.

Again, it's sufficient.
Web tests put the M8 at 85db and the Z2 at 82db.
I don't use my phone to blare music at high volume levels.
