Nob with Lumia 800 - few questions - Nokia Lumia 800

how come i cannt get the lumia to work as a normal usb hard drive?
also if i have a song/mp3 file why cant i set it as a ring tone?

Neither of these features is supported in windows phone. You can get around the ringtone issue with apps but i keep mine on silent so i cant recommend any.
As for the storage issue its one of the prices you pay just like vpn but Microsoft do have a suggestions site you can add you vote to get these added. Personally i don't think they will add mass storage as they want to move more to cloud based but there you go. I wouldn't let it put you off but rather you can buy a usb memory stick for about £15 and then you wont also have to take a usb cable around with you.

wow really thats poor, very poor. so i have a choice of like 20 crappy ring tones only
i use my phone for work to take pictures on and i normally just plug it into the work computer and copy the photos across.
not sure what im going to do now, work are very funny about install phone software onto the laptop

Custom ringtones DO work:
http://windowsphonesecrets.com/2011/06/28/custom-ringtone-support-in-mango-explained/
Or go to the marketplace and grab EasyRing, it has a free trial. I love that app when it comes to ringtones.
Using Windows Phone as an USB HDD is not supported currently!
Kind regards

ok will check and download that one now thanks.
first major issue encounted and i actually had to phone nokia. phone frozen and i couldnt get it to do anthing, even the power button wasnt working.
phone nokia dn you have to hold the power button for 10 seconds to do a hard reset of the phone

it would seem that with easyring i cant use existing mp3 already stored on my phone

Does no one look into their 500 dollar devices before they buy them?

$500 or free on upgrade...

Either way, I'd think a power user would be more thorough. Ringtones are easily added via Zune and using it as a flash drive is available to unlocked devices. Windows plones point is simplicity

I remember back in the day must of been about 2001 2002 ish i had a phone that could record your voice and use it as a ring tone. This gave us hours of drunk fun recording ourselves hideing the phone in the sofa and calling it to the confusion of whoever just sat down. Since then though i dont think i have ever got this love for ringtones at all. I think its just me. Either way i didnt mean to give the impression you where stuck with whats on there but rather you just needed to go about it in a different way. That phone also had a scroller on the side it really did rock cant beleive i forget what it was.
done some googleing and think i found it the sony cmd-j6

Can I display presentation from Wizard to Video projector ?

I want to play Power Point presentation using my Qtek 9100 on video projector ...
Does anybody know is there a way to do that ? Maybe using some accessory or bluetooth connection if present on projector?
Thanks
You can't
No I am afraid you can't do that.... they haven't given that possibility I really wonder why. When one pays so much this is the one thing that is really missing. A direct TV out.

For an additional $10, you'd expect it to fetch your newspaper
SOTI pocket controller
You can do this from the PDA via a PC hooked to the projector using Soft Object Technology's Pocket Controller. I bought it originally for my Wallaby, recently got a Wizard and am using it there now. Nifty application, you can do everything with the desktop image that you can do with the touchscreen, and I think it lets you record a movie of you doing stuff on the PDA.
More info here: http://www.soti.net/
Well worth the registration cost IMO

That's prety cool I'd get one to try but I keep my presentations on the SD card... LOL kinda hard to show the presentation if I have to take it out...heh. Currently I just transfer the presentation to someone's laptop and use theirs. Kinda "old tech" and not "high tech".

this looks like what you need
hmmmm... would this do the trick???

Maybe, why not... I am sure it would be more than 10 $!
I see that SpecTec has upgraded to 1024x768. Any other newer options out there?? Thanks!
BT?
I remember seeing that a projector supported bluetooth to transfer images. Wouldn't it be a solution for that, meaning you buy a bluetooth adaptor to hook to your projector and use the internal bluetooth to transmit your presentation? This way the SD port would remain available for the SD memory cards with the presentation.
If one finds it, please share...

I really wondering what you are 'lolz'-ing at. I'm not sure if you are ignorant or the Pakistan people (who sell the cords) are ignorant. As I have said a million time in this forum, getting the cable (cord) into a socket doesn't mean it works. You can connect a USB to 240V socket, doesn't mean you can charge your unit directly onto the phone (kids, dont try this at home).
How much do you understand about the USB connection, and the video connection (the yellow thing you've mentioned). Not to mentioned that one runs on digital and one runs on analog signal (at a different frequency), they probably runs at a different voltage anyway. And also, the fact that, a Wizard phone doens't have USB host to it, it wont do the job in the way you've mentioned.

Lumia 800 flaws list here

I basically am a long Nokia fan and the Lumia 800 is beautiful. However it is not very practical in some cases. Here are a few flaws. Some of these flaws come from comparing Nokia's first windows phone with their first Symbian fifth edition phone, the epic 5800. You people add some on if you wish:
1) The phone needs to be turned on for the alarm clock to work
2) Phone calls don't end sometimes, you have to restart the phone
3) Battery life isn't too good but better after the update
4) It is advertised with 16GB of memory but look in the settings it actually has 13.8GB (for me)
5) FPS has always been a problem on Nokia phones for some applications and games
6) After a hard reset the Lumia 800 will crash and close applications sometimes. This is apparent in 'Shuffle Party', 'ARMED', 'Amazing Collective' and 'VIP Registration'. In 'Shuffle Party' your Xbox Live avatar is sometimes facing backwards or not even there. A new game in ARMED will crash and close. Amazing COllective app will not sometimes open and the VIP Registration app will keep giving annoying notices of the same thing every hour or two daily. This happened after a hard reset.
7) The camera does not focus properly. It does after a hard reset but not as well as it can. The book says the minimum focus distance is 10cm. It looks like it's more. Also compared to the 5800 camera the quality is okayish not too good. The pixels are blurred to make it look smooth whereas the 5800 has more pixel detail and the pixels are not blurred so the tiniest details come out somewhat and the image is sharp. It does not look like 8MP or maybe that's on the phone's screen.
8) The VIDEO camera focusses correctly but if you have something in the way it will focus on that and stay focussed at the point. For example I take a video of a lake and a person walks past the camera. The Lumia 800 will focus on the man and blur the lake a bit and it will stay like that until the camera is restarted.
9) The calendar takes some time to getting used to but it sucks a little. Compared to the symbian calendar in which to-do notes and meetings were shown a few days or a week prior to it's date the calendar on the Lumia 800 shows the things a day before on the lock screen and to edit it you have to go to the calendar instead of the one touch option on the 5800.
10) No Bluetooth file transfer. No point of bluetooth other than to transfer contacts but files won't work.
11) No USB mode. I used to use my Nokia 5800 for everything, even as a portable USB drive. The Lumia 800 does not have that, you need a big, fat, cloggy software called Zune which no one cares about to transfer things. But hey, we have SkyDrive for that
12) Privacy! I was talking to a friend yesterday through the built-in chat and I typed in the word "RnB" in a sentence. I have never typed in that word into a pc or phone for years, I know it sounds stupid but I know I have not. I dont even listen to RnB. And guess what? Today on youtube I had 3 RnB adverts!! On an Xbox 360 game video?? Coincidence? Hell no!
13) Battery capacity decreases by a few digits every time I charge the phone. It should not happen that frequently.
14) Contacts confusion. The phone syncs all your contacts on your windows live, facebook and from your sim into one and imports them into your Hotmail account. That means that every single email address, name and number on your phone, facebook and hotmail is dumped into your phone, paired up with the same names and then uploaded onto your windows live address book. There is a filter option to sort between Hotmail and Facebook contacts but it does not leave you with the phone numbers you had on your sim, it just merges them. And also Facebook and Windows Live have that personal data too!
15) I have not found a way to bookmark or add pages to the favourites list //FOUND IT LOL
16) After a hard reset the phone does not vibrate or ring if I get a message while it is locked. Even with the settings changed and the volume set to full it will not ring, not even for a phone call. The only time it vibrates is if I receive a new Hotmail message.
17) After the hard-reset every time I screen lock the phone it will disconnect from any Wifi network. This did not happen before the hard-reset.
There may be a few more which I cannot remember lol but other than that it's a really nice phone!

Maybe just a little pedantic?
Yeah, regarding the 16GB even I thought that when I had the iPhone 4, but that a mount that's already in use is your OS, sadly, I know, even I believe that we are mislead to believe that it actually contains 16GB.
As for your faults, their seems to be a lot of faults with your handsets that I don't seem to have, take it to a Nokia care point or mail them on their Nokia support website, I'm sure your phone's in warranty, if proved faulty, they'll easily replace your handset. That wi-fi and lock issue, I've started to notice recently too since the update, I think Nokia have done a cheeky one of saving battery like this, cutting off wi-fi, and my gf gives me a hard time for missing her texts..-_-
*EDIT* oh and yeah, I'm thinking of sending mine for a replacement if Nokia don't have an answer to this.
Lol yeah I guess so. Still why am I complaining I got it for free
Oh also it says it has 512mb RAM. It actually has 300 or something. :/

A fair amount of ram is reserved for the OS like on Android. Also about the disk space issue I don't think it's much to worry about.
Like prevoius poster said I think you are a bit picky about some faults. You also seem to have faults that does not exist on my phone.
My computer needs to be turned on for my alarm clock to work on it, too. My alarm clock (were I to have one) would need to be plugged into the wall to work. Of course, the phone has to be turned on for the alarm clock to work.
It's very likely that the 16GB is advertised the same way that hard drive capacities are advertised. They market 16,000,000,000 bytes as 16GB. Considered how computers read storage, that 16,000,000,000 is actually 14.9GB. Then remove whatever is required by the OS.
Windows Live does not import your Facebook contacts unless you indicate it too. Mine does not, has not, and will not merge my FB contacts to my Windows Live account.
Yes, Calendar sucks.

Actually all modern smartphones don't have that feature anymore, regardless the software: it's the same on iOS, Android, BBOS, WebOS, MeeGo and more. The only devices sticking with that feature may be the Symbian ones, but I'm not sure because the last Symbian I used was some old N81, which was able to do that but I still don't know about newer Anna devices...many things may have changed.

I agree with this completely. How often do you even transfer contacts? Bluetooth in this device is a joke.
I bought L800 for my wife, and she wanted an Iphone 4 btw, and one of my arguments against it was that there is no functioning bluetooth, imagine my frustration when i found out there is in fact no BT in Lumia 800 too.
Btw, initially i really liked the device, i even considered getting one for myself, but now i'm absolutely not getting it.
I'm also dissappointed in camera too.
Bluetooth issues
I dont understand the whole blueooth complaint. How many times in your life would you transfer a file via buetooth. Welcome to the 21 century, use the cloud. So strange to hear people say they wont buy a phone because of a feature they might use once to transfer their contacts. I have my contacts synced with my Live account for years and every time I get a new phone or computer I put that account in and my contacts sync. Bluetooth file transfers???? Why??????
lol..i agree with cloud...but to say...here in our country...keeping connected to cloud is not very possible...so bluetooth id needed...lumia had a very big release here in our country and dey couldnt consider a bluetooth transfer..:/
sad...i hope it cums in an update as well as wifi hotspot..
also needs battery improvement...
waiting for modders to crack open the firmware...i need tools..i can help!!!

What's so hard to understand? Cloud means data, more time, more money, and how other person is supposed to receive it? What if he has Symbian phone like me? Or S40 phone??
My phone is E72, my wife's Lumia 800, say she took a pic she wants to share with me, are you saying it's better and easier to use cloud than transfer it via bluetooth directly phone2phone? I'm sorry but that's a load of BS. You coundn't find any dumber excuse for missing BT.

Keep in mind that bluetooth OBEX is not a flaw of the Lumia, but is a shortcoming on the part of Windows Phone design. Also, iPhone cannot do this either. Can Android? I dunno, never tried.

Well, I bought Nokia, not Microsoft phone, and I paid my money to Nokia, not to MS, so it's Lumia's fault. All these years people are used to the fact that top line Nokia offers full functiong bluetooth.
Still, I get your point but if you have a laptop, you will see that Microsoft doesn't support full bluetooth there too, at least not on mine Vaio. For this purpose there is a bluetooth stack (mine is made by Toshiba) which is small software programm. So, all these excuses "it's not Nokia it's MS" are funny. There is a way around, not to mention their "special relationships" , I'm sure if Nokia insisted MS would do that stack specially for Nokia by themselves.
As for Iphone and Android I never tried it too, i've been using Nokias for last 10 years.
Still, after doing some research online it turns out there are some apps for Iphone that allow bluetooth files sharing, i think it's restricted to pictures and videos, no music files, though not sure about that. Also, you can do jailbreak and use full Bluetooth functions (by the way, there is whopping Bluetooth 4.0 in Ip4S, Lumia in comparison has ancient and slow ver 2.1,)
Android does it all by default, no apps, no hacking needed. Even a year old Galaxy S2 already has fast Bluetooth 3.0 HS (high speed). So, Lumia turns out complete looser and dissappointment in this regard. And did i mention crappy camera?
FFS, Nokia did not develop the OS in this case. Don't blame them for something they have no influence.

Nokia is not some no name chinese brand, they have strategic cooperation with Microsoft so your attempts to make it look like there is no influence are ridiculous.
Even if indeed, there is not influece in OS development, there is a way around like making extra software to utilise missing bluetooth functions better.
They already have exclusive apps strictly for Nokia (Nokia drive for example, which uses GPS chip), same way they can make an app for Bluetooth too.
Your attemps as Nokias apologist are lame.

Well, what can I say? I'm surprised that you're making such a stink over such a small feature that NO Windows Phone currently has. Has it crossed your mind that it might be an OS limitation? Seriously, figure out a different alternative to OBEX. It's practically dead.
MS Exchange 2010 remote wipe on Lumia
Does anyone tried remote wipe feature on Lumia using MS Exchange 2010? I've connected MS Exchange mailbox on my Lumia 800 and decided to test remote wipe functionality initiated from Exchange server. As the result I've got full device reset and lost all the contacts and applications too

Well, if that feature is small to you, why try to force your opinion on others, to which it is important? Do you really think i'm the only one?? Go to Nokia forums and see all those complains. You can google "lumia bluetooth problems" too. You are not very helpful here, not suggesting any alternative, all you do is advocating Nokia and downplaying obvious drawbacks. Yours posts are irrelevant in this thread, which is dedicated to Lumias flaws.
And I don't want to repeat myself over again, may be you have problems with reading comprehension? Iphone has OS limitations too, yet there are ways around. And because "obex is dead" they put BT 4.0 in latest Iphone and so does Samsung, which already offers high speed file transfer via bluetooth for almost a year? Your argument is a joke, may be you are not very sociable or you live in cave, i don't know, but in Russia, where i live, file sharing is very popular, and there is no decent alternative to Bluetooth.

[Q] So Many Problems (Wi-fi)

Hey guys,
I just got a Galaxy S3 however there a lot of annoying issues. First of all I haven't rooted anything and at the moment everything is stock.
The main really annoying thing is the Wi-Fi on my S III seems messed up. On all my apps which require the internet it lags really slow. For example if I load Instagram or Facebook it'll take ages to load the pictures. The same goes for random web pages. It takes around 1-2 minutes to load a page.
This does not always happen, I would say about 3/4 of the time. This issue is also guaranteed to happen in the games Hanging with Friends and Words with Friends. I doubt this issue is the app's fault as so many other apps have problems with Internet access.
I also use an iPhone 4S as a back up phone and it has no problems at all. I've also had no IP adress conflicts so that should not be a problem. This is extremely irritating as it makes using the phone a total pain.
Another thing is that I have created a folder on my home screen and whenever I open it, an annoying tone goes "Folder Open". I looked in Accessibility and couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Please help.
Also, I noticed that on my Galaxy S III when I listen to my music I hear a slight static buzz every now and then. I don't think this is an issue when the file and headphones as I've had them on my iPhone for a long time and had no issues. Do you guys have any solutions? Needless to say it is quite annoying listening to your favourite tunes and hearing this annoying buzz when you least expect it.
I also discovered something very interesting using Android. I have 250 MB of data to use and before on the iPhone it was extremely hard to cap that. However on this phone I'm already 50% through that. I used the iPhone just as much as the Galaxy so why is this happening? Does Android have another system of using data, like loading full size images?
Cheers, Jason

Hey guys,
I just got a Galaxy S3 however there a lot of annoying issues.

Haven't got this phone yet, i'm getting mine today.
But from what you've said, it sounds like it could be a few things including your phone.
First tho, check the stuff you can fix yourself.
Firstly, try not to compare any android phone to an iphone, they're not the same and have different qualities and weaknesses, the iphone in comparison to this beast is a pipsqueak.
About your connectivity, completely remove your APN and put them back in manually.
Perform a battery pull at least once a day.
Is your sim card a new one or old? You could possibly query that too.
250MB is nothing by the way, not sure how you managed it but even on an iphone that's not a lot, i can easily use 500MB just by allowing my phone to sync normal stuff, i'd personally recommend a gig as a minimum, unless you don't mind actively managing your internet habits and you frequently switch off data altogether.
As for your wifi, pull all cables on your router and start afresh, once everything is back together, connect using your phone and perform a speed test using the speedtest.net app, see what your getting, some apps don't use the speed that's available and that's a limitation of the app and not the phone or connection.
Also regarding your apps, either remove them or remove the data associated with them and start over.
As for the headphones, they're sh** so try some others.
Not sure about the voice over, maybe check settings and see what you can find.
If all this doesn't help then try a factory reset and see if your still having a problem.
Like i said i don't have this phone yet so i don't have too much hands on experience but give this little lot a whirl and see how it goes, if nothing helps then maybe return it if your unsatisfied.
Personally I'll be rooting my SGS3 on day one, right after i've tested to see if everything works of course.

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply,
This is going to sound stupid but what is an APN? I googled it and it came up with 'Access Point Name'. Is that what you mean?
My SIM card is a Micro-Sim and was in my old iPhone 4S before so it is not brand new.
I understand 250 MB is nothing but I'm being totally honest on my old phone it was really hard to blow it. I asked another guy and he said that Facebook for Android loads the images full size so I'm not 100% sure. It's just a bit of a shock since on iOS it used such little data.
Also, I'm not using the standard headphones. I'm using Audio Technica Solid Bass so I'm sure it's not a problem with that. But please try and help me with this issue. I need music for studying, transport, school etc.
I really want to keep the SIII. The big screen is really nice and the customisation of the home screen is great along with the widgets. Just these issues troubling me.
**EDIT: Also another issue. Sometimes when I go to the Play Store it'll attempt to load and display the page with "Connection timed out." **

YES its your network .

I would check with network for problems .
Factory reset and return phone to seller .

did you solve this issue ?
I'm having the exact same issue, I have two S3 devices .
both are bought from a different countries .. .
Both suffer from an extremely poor and slow internet . ..
it's "IMPOSSIBLE" for me to opan Google Play with no wifi . ..
it will time out if I try that with 3G network .. on both devices ..
tried soft reset + hard reset + rom flash ..
nothing worked .. .
"iPhone is soooooooooo much better than androind ..
this is my (3rd) time now ..
with S1, my phone suffered from instant disconnection from the internet
S2, people always get "this phone is out of service" when calling me
and now the lovely S3, which takes 2-3 minutes just to load google's default page ...
how wonderful !

Terrible call quality !

i have had this phone for nearly a month now , and nearly everybody i speak to struggles to hear me, or they say im breaking up (although i have full signal) .. if i let the phone drift even slightly away from my mouth people struggle to hear me also . and because i have to keep the phone pressed up close to the side of my face ,so that the mouth piece is always very close to my mouth, i find my cheek pressing various keys and the key tones drowning out what the other person is saying to me ! i am really not happy with this phone on many levels .. but when you struggle to use the phone to do what a telephone is basically meant to do , i think its ridiculous ! i had a galaxy s2 before this and never had any of these problems ! is it just my phone or are other people having these problems ?? :crying:

I'm basically having the same problem. Coming from Samsung definitely not happy. Have you figured it out? I was wondering maybe it could be software related and an update might do the job.
This is interesting. I have had the phone since early April and have had hundreds of calls both through the mouthpiece and speakerphone (work/personal phone) and have not had a single complaint. Are you on 55 or 69?

This problem seems to be fixed on mine after disabling the noise cancelling function.

im on 55 do you think flashing 69 would help this problem ? its just driving me mad .. i cant let the mouth piece drift more than about an inch away from my mouth or people say they just cant hear me or say im breaking up !
Not sure but it may be worth a try. Either thst or utilize PC companion to repair 55 and see if it helps. PC companion repair will wipe device though.

I think it's because the noise cancellation is very aggressive. If you don't talk directly or rather, very close into the mic it cuts out all sound as others have said to me that I sound quiet on the phone too but if I have the bottom of the phone adjacent to my mouth, I end up being crystal clear, I then turned noise cancelling off and held the phone as I have any other and tested calls again and I come through loud and clear but also all background noise is picked up too.
In general terms while everybody looks different you may have to adjust the angle you hold the phone at, but for me I've found that placing my ear over the Sony logo and having the edge of the phone that is facing the ground run parallel to my jaw line, I have no issues with being heard. Holding the phone to my ear in this position too I've found to be more comfortable as my usual position is that I hold phones straight down and the top of the phone when held like this feels quite sharp and uncomfortable on the ear.
To illustrate. when holding the phone straight down, the 3 holes at the base of the phone where the mic is positioned are pointed at the neck and so wouldn't pick up speech fully. When the phone is positioned as described above, the mic is then next to the mouth and so is able to capture speech properly.
With it being a taller phone than usual it is more important to position it correctly.
I can't remember where the setting is but when you're in a call it's supposed to turn the screen off when it detects proximity to your face/object so you shouldn't be pressing keys

Had the same issue with a Black Z2 on Swisscom and also Upgrade to Build 17.1.1.A.0.402 did not solve it . My wife told me, she heared me like "in a hole", far away and so on. When i called her on her mobile it was a bit better (maybe because of HDVoice?) but on other phones she couldn't nearly hear me at all. Turning on or off noise cancelling and al the other settings did not changy anything noticeable.
I then contacted Xperia Lounge and they told me do try a Software Repair via PC Companion or send back the device. It seems, that the software Repair function dit it for me.
With sofware repair you automatically wipe your phone and all your data in internal storage and flash the latest firmware available. Before starting, i had an issue because on my fist PC because PC Companion searches for a specific Windows Update , if you don't have this installed it won't let you do the repair. It seems that the first PC i tried to use for software repair had a newer Update installed which replaced the one that PC Companion was seeking, so it seems that PC Companion is not completely up-do-date with the WIndows Updates.
Anyway, I tried to Install PC Companion on another PC and here it worked. Be Careful and read all the advices if you want to try. The Option for Software Repair is in PC Companion->Update Phone i believe.
After doing this it seems that the mic Issue is gone. I've done this a week ago and my wife says now that she hears me always clearly and loud.

Yes, it will wipe all the data on internal Storage (Data on external microSD won't be touched, as far as i know, but since i have no microSD i'm not 100% sure) so you have to backup your data. If you sync with Google Contacts, google Calendar etc. then you should be good for this, but if don't, if you have unsynced pictures etc. you should backup this first from your phone.
In PC Companion you have the Option to create and restore backups, in the settings you can choose which data you want to backup. Maybe you could give this a try first.

[Q] Wired Head Mounted Display

For lack of a better place to put this, I decided the Android Q/A was probably best. Anyway I'll get straight to the point. I'm attempting to create an HMD using an old Android phone. The problem is, even on a local network, all of the possible Remote Desktop apps seem to have unbearable lag. I cannot fix my network. I'm using Powerline Adapters. I put a WiFi router directly in the room I want to use the phone as an HMD and I've got a direct connection to the main router via Powerline on my PC. It's really as good as it's going to get. And yet I have noticeable lag even just moving my mouse around. So I don't really want suggestions on how to get wireless working better.
What I really want is a true one to one display. Almost like the phone is acting as a secondary monitor to my PC. So whatever my PC is displaying, my android shows with zero lag. That means directly connecting the device I'd imagine. The problem is, EVERY single possible way of wording this in my research seems to provide the exact opposite results of what I'm looking for. Google loves doing that to me. I say "Use Android as PC Monitor" and I get "How to display your Android on your PC monitor". That's just one example of the many different ways I got those same exact results.
So anyway, I would appreciate any direction someone could give me to figure this out. Thanks.
As an update, I just wanted to say I've found two apps that seem to do what I want, but they seem a little iffy. The first Twomon USB - USB Monitor, claims it does precisely what I want. However, the reviews are mixed with some saying it doesn't work. I'd rather not spend almost $10 on something iffy. I'd rather read things like "It connected with no problems and there's NO LAG."
Then the other one is ExtDisplay extend via Wifi/USB. This time it has a free version ExtDisplay Extend PC Display, but I hesitate to try it because of it doesn't have good reviews. I guess I'll try it and come back to this, but I just figured I'd give a little more details on what I'm looking for. These apps claim to be exactly what I'm looking for. Just don't seem to deliver.

I ended up switching over to a program I'm sure all have heard by now. Trinus Gyre. Well now it's called TrinusVR. At any rate, it worked very well for a while, but my android phone's display is terrible. Trying to play anything is extremely pixelated to the point that I can't read text. I have however been looking out for a program with the same functionality for my iPhone because it has a much higher resolution. I did find one called KinoConsole. It works great and while currently I will use it from time to time for movies, I still can't really use it for gaming because again, text isn't easy to read. At this point I'm just holding out for a professional headset that won't break the bank. I kinda have my heart set on PlaystationVR because of the specs, but still don't know how much they're going to try to sell this thing for.
But, if you're still set on using an Android device, definitely try out TrinusVR. It's worth the money especially if you have a decent resolution.
