Can you try this :
1 - Exit Flashtool
2 - go to x10flasher_lib folder inside Flashtool install folder and edit driverid.properties
3 - remove all lines except this one : flash1=VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE
4 - Restart flashtool

So now we can flash costum kernels even if we dont have fastboot on device right?
Doomlord you should reall make a tut for this.
Thanks in advance

how come x10 mini pro can flash kernel with locked bootloader? is it not the same process? if not, would it be possible to flash the way they do?

those devices have hacked bootloaders to support flashing custom kernels...
since new xperia 2011 device already support fastboot there is no need to hack their bootloaders... simply unlock them... the official or unofficial way

ah ok, thanks for clarifying.
I'm new to the new mini pro so please pardon my ignorance.. I've been reading through the forum and even though it is possible to unlock the bootloader on a branded phone (like i have), it is not possible to enable fastboot on the branded phone? For people who have this problem is it going to be forever impossible to flash custom kernels?
thanks

Thanks for the info i have unlocked my bootloader with the hardware trick
so now i can flash costum kernels and roms
Thank you Doom so much

Here is a small update that resolves the following issue :
Device not recognized correctly when plugged.
https://github.com/downloads/Androxyde/Flashtool/Flashtool-0.5.1.0-update.exe

Thank you so much for the update.. I will check it up..

EDIT: for clarification, I have the same issue with the same phone.
I don't have the driverid.properties file in that folder.
shall I create one? EDIT - I tried that, didn't do ****. Something wrong with my install?

Install 0.5.0.0 then install 0.5.3 update and you shouldn't have anymore problems.
the driverid.properties file is removed with the 0.5.3 update. No more used.

I just installed flashtool for the first time, (0.5.0.0 with 0.5.3.0 over it) and I had the same issue, that flashtool does not recognize my usb debugging settings.

Hi,
I changed from MTP to MSC which didn't seem to help at first, but now when I reconnect, more is recognized.
I'll still give you the output:

The problem is that all these case can be detected by program by I go on step by step and each time someone get stuck, I get some info and I go one step further
My goal is that flashtool will detect correctly how your device is connected and give the advice itself

OK thanks guys (by the way, my phone is not unlocked, maybe that's why I couldn't get to flash mode?)

Its very easy using flashtool.
All you have to do is download it and install and follow these steps.
1. Enable "USB Debugging" and "Unknown sources" in your phone.
2. Open Flashtool
3. Connect the phone to the PC with usb cable and skip "install pc companion" message on phone.
4. So if you connect it properly, the flashtool will indicate that "device connected with UDB Debugging on".
5.Then click on "Root" icon in the menu and after reboot your phone will be rooted.
this is my log!

mrpsyko, try this tool: SE Extreme Tweak Installer - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346190
I had the same problems as you, the tool get my phone the CWM.
Please note, that previous to running the mentioned tool, I rooted my Xperia Mini with this kit: DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
---------- Post added at 01:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:06 AM ----------
Apparently, installing CWM and busybox did not let me to install CM7, it is crashing while flashing.
I found that I had to install drivers, which are coming with FlashTool (see c:\Flashtool\drivers\).
After that fastboot connection went just perfectly fine and I was able to finish this HOWTO: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Mini:_Full_Update_Guide

what firmware?

Dummy in need. Request your Wisdom.

Dear developers,
I would like to ask for your help, since I, like others, have messed up my X10i.
***Note, I am a newbie. Before trying anything, the X10i had latest Sony stock GB 2.3.3***
First, phone got rooted & bootloader unlocked, via flashtool.
Then,
I installed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780398. It worked.
But, since I am in the process of testing & learning different things, decided I wanted to test that I could revert to the stock rom, which I had hoped it was backed up correctly with ClockWorkMod. Something must have gone wrong. Stuck at SE logo (sphere).
Later,
I figured I should try and flash the X10_V1_BLRelock_oemkernel.ftf ( i assumed that was the stock one, in the C:\Flashtool\firmwares folder). The ICS 4.0.4. rom I had flashed, previously, would require the kCernel-CM9-v03.ftf (however, since wi-fi would not work, I changed to: X10_CUSTOM_kernel.ftf).
Thus, after flashing to the X10_V1_BLRelock.ftf kernel, now stuck at the SE logo (letters: Sony Ericsson). Problem is that now in flashtool I get:

PC Companion also does not detect the phone anymore.
AND,obviously phone is not recognized anymore & cant do much. Could you provide some of your wisdom to a dummy?
Have you tried to flash Stock 2.3.3 ftf firmware with Flashtool?
For the info: BLrelock ftf is not a kernel, its to relock the bootloader again.

Big Thanks to G-Face for his tip. Worked out pretty easily. It was all my fault, being dumm.
*Thanks for the clarification. That's what happens when some1 is stupid . Obviously "BL" stands for bootloader and "relock" ...well duh (lmao). I choose the wrong file, and I'm sure this messed things up even more*

Install windows 7 test edition on dualboot. I know, that's hard cause installing windows overrides grub, but that's better to root your phone.
And better root it with this method.
Afterwards you will have to install grub again, but that's the price...
Or you buy windows 7 (test version has a time limit) and then download easybcd and create a startup entrie for grub of linux...
Well it was a painfull job and a lot of wasted time, but its done.
The credits goes to DooMLoRD's and the guy(s) from Flashtool.
1. I did a mistake and tryed to flash a wrong .ftf file. Dont know why but i was sure that i had to take a rootable kernel from a ST18i Stock Image, but we need to use the kernel from MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_Nordic_1253-1755.ftf package. My fault
2. Because i have currently not the time to find out how i can replace a kernel by command line over the android device bridge (adb) i tryed work with windows xp in a virtualbox. Everything seams to be fine but DooMLoRD's rooting kit didnt work in a virtualbox on my linux workstion. Imho it was something between that stopped DooMLoRD's root kit to work (Hardware or USB issue).
3. With a normal native Windows 7 Installation it worked to root my xperia mini pro.
No clue what was wrong. We need a way to do this from linux too

As far as I have understood, you have to flash your device with kernel 6.1.1.B.1.10 to use the method you tried before. That method doesn't work on 6.1.1.B.1.54.
On this topic, on the first quote you can see a link to download the kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028139
Good luck
What are the risks of changing kernel? Does it void warranty? Should I go back to .54 after rooting in .10?
Also, my phone is a St25a, that kernel is for st25i. They say I must delete baseband to work, how I do that?
Thanks
Sent from my Xperia U using Tapatalk
Just flash .10 kernel then try bin4ry and then flash .54 kernel
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Well i flashed b10 kernel of that topic and when i turn phone on its screwed up - fonts are all black, some menus images dont appear, it laggs like hell, notification bar icons and icons dont appear and haptic feedback not working. I tryed to flash it again and the same thing. When i go to Phone Info it tell that i'm still in b54, but everything is fine on Flashtool. I flashed b54 again and its back to normal. What should i do?

You need to flash B54, after your phone is on B54 Stock succesfully, flash the B10 Kernel (assuming it is a FTF file) so you start your phone and it should be screwed (all black and laggy etc...) open the app menu and go to settings, developer settings, turn on debugg mode, now you should be able to successfully root your phone, after that, flash the B54 kernel, and now you should be rooted at stock B54 succesfully.

Is your bootloader unlocked?
If yes and you are on stock firmware, you could simply flash this kernel and then flash this using cwm to root your device. This method worked for me.

Ok, locked bootloader. No problem! Go over to this thread, and download CWM and install as instructed on the thread. You'll have CWM and now you can download the SuperSU zip from this link and flash it using CWM for rooting your device.
Hope that'll help you
Well, it appears to require root. In install.bat it says "/system/bin/sh: su: not found" and then "Finished!" When i try to enter it in startup nothing happens...
Also it says on the thread
Requires:
Stock ICS ROM
Root
Root explorer

Sorry, my bad Didn't quite read the post. Anyways, if you have kernel.ftf of both .10 and .54 firmwares, then you flash the kernel.ftf of .10 first, root using Bin4ry's method and then flash the kernel.ftf of .54 as mentioned earlier in the thread (Thanks to SilentScorn)

SilentScorn had given this method earlier in the thread. Hopefully it'll work.
If it doesn't, consider unlocking your bootloader and then flashing a kernel that supports autoroot, like that of Munjeni.
Good luck mate.

[SOLVED]flashtool doesn't recognize my Xperia X[SOLVED]

hi everyone,
this is really strange! i'm trying to flash my Xperia X F5121 (single sim) using flashtool , but it doesn't recognize it as the Sony X Series are not in the devices list... please check the screenshot i included below. and BTW, im using the latest Flashtool version, downloaded 2 days ago from it's official page!
PROBLEM SOLVED!
the issue was that when i installed the latest version of Flashtool, it didn't update/refresh the "devices" folder that contains the latest Xperia series, but instead it kept the old one which has the Z5 series as the latest added devices. this is the reason Flashtool was not seeing my Xperia X as recognizable device.
SOLUTION:
What i did is, i installed Flashtool in another laptop (for the first time). when it created the "devices folder" i went there and i was surprised seeing all X series included, also my X was finally recognizable.
very easy step... i went to C:\Users\Username\.flashTool\devices, then I selected all the X series folders.. pasted them in "devices" folder of my old computer, and this is is. It was able to recognize my Xperia X. (of course all drivers MUST BE installed)
For the FSC error in Nougat ftf...
what I did is, i went to "F51XX" folder, and then did the rename under any ftf file you wish, and make it look like that: "F5121_34.2.A.0.273.fsc" then Flashtool will notify you that a NEW FSC detected, then there is a msg will popup just click on continue, and it will fully flash a new fresh Nougat firmware...
special thanks for anyone who have contributed in helping me in here.
special thanks to @josh_zombie for explaining how to skip the FSC error...
thanks for you all
I think this is because your device is not connected in debug mode. You can enable by tapping on the build number a few times then enable debug mode.

in flashtool folder the Xperia X is not listed in the Xperia driver list!
The drivers for the x are out in the wild, you'll need to google for the drivers and install them manually.

Yeah, but you must install 2 drivers for the flashtool. And the other driver with the companion prog.

You misunderstood! Flashtool don't recognize your device becouse your driver is wrong, version of Flashtool doesn't matter. I use Flashtool 2 years old and that now? I have no problem with flashing any ROM... Flashtool is just instrument for flashing, but installed driver recognize your device

no my driver is correct, i downloaded it from Sony website.. but i think it's Flashtool problem!
even when i browse ftf firmware for Xperia X Flashtool doesn't recognize it.... it's downloaded by Xperifirm and the bundle was created in Flashtool itself but when it comes to browse .... it doesn't see it at all!

well, i also downloaded and installed the same drivers... just a question to make it more clear... when you use flashtool or if you already used it to flash, didn't pop up a menu asking you to enter the model name in the list?
for me it did because flashtool didn't recognize my Xperia X and as i said. it wasn't listed!
thanks for the help

Yes it asked me to install drivers too, all you need to do is follow the prompts upto where it fails to find the drivers and then browse to them and install them manually then it should work fine. Have you got adb enabled across your entire system i think that helps.

ok i will try to do it again.... if you talking about USB DEBUG and UNKNOWN RESOURCES both are enabled... but if not about that, then what adb refers to?
if you can show me screenshots in how it worked for you, at least it would help me more!
