I can also confirm GTalk works.

Confirmed here too, on Rogers' 3G network

Most of Moto latest device doesn't support because 3g video call is seldom use in US. Even in SG where I stay.
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk

well yes, is seldom use here too, but it's nice to have video call when you have no data enabled
thanks

It doesnt have, but if there is a video dialer apk that works then it can....
I know samsung galaxy phones have video calling, maybe someone can port the apk?

I understand what the person is saying. He means to say 3G video calling over the network WITHOUT having data enabled. People seldom use this and hence not many people know about it. And no, Motorola XT910/912 do not support it natively. U could try another .apk as mentioned, but fat chance. Sammy's phones support it well, cuz Sammy isn't dumb like moto.

My friend has a Galaxy S2 and he can make video calls with other friend and his gf (with galaxy s2) here in Mexico. It would be cool if someone can port the apk

not yet.

Yeah, it'll be cool. But calling over the network is expensive, at least here in India.

Well, I think it will cost too much more than a simple call in any country. It cost 29 cents (usd) per minute in my country (only for users with data plan like me) and 37 cents per minute for prepaid.

Yeah n it costs 3 bucks/min over here in india. Thats about 0.054$

In Poland costs are the same for voice and video calls. average is 0.29Pln/min (0.1usd/min), without a plan. Unlimited calls text and data cost about 30usd/month.
And I'd welcome video calling on Razr too

well i have like 200mins for video call, but since this feature is not supported i can't benefit from it...
and i hope that you guys don't confuse 3g video call with any other video call over ip ...

[Q] Video-Calling

Guys,
I was wondering...how do I make video calls over the network on my RAZR?
You could try Skype in the market.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
I use Skype also.
Skype works very nicely, though the front facing camera looks a little washed out. I know that's not Skype's fault but I wonder if anyone knows how to fix this? (at least change settings to "sunny" or something)
I haven't tried Skype yet....but Tango does work on my Razr XT912.
Skype & gtalk video

not video calling razr
I don't believe that can be done over the Verizon 3g network, but can be done on 4g if both parties have 4g connections.

I've had my wife gtalk video call me while I was on 3G and she was on our home wifi. I believe we have done it while we both have been on 3G.
No. I mean over the cellular 3G network. Like normal video-calling, not over skype or anything. And yeah, I don't think any Android phone supports that yet. Faaaark.....coz Nokia had Symbian S60 support it 5 years ago! I remember video calling on my Nokia 5800 over 3G. Its 3 bucks/minute here in India.
Video calling without VOIP
Did anybody made a video call using RAZR or RAZR Maxx without using VOIP?
Thank you so much!
I think that only Samsung devices have the necessary divers for native video calling on Android. Not a Samsung troll/rep I Love my Razr Its the best phone

You mean something like facetime for iPhone, yet without Wi-Fi? I don't think there is such a feature...maybe when we get ICS
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA
I use Fring for VOIP. I have not tried to use its video features. I do know that last time I tried Skype it was buggy.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
I use Qik. Even though it's made by Skype, it's not nearly as buggy. It's what Sprint uses when they're doing product placement on TV shows like "Fringe."
I prefer Oovoo. It is much less buggy than Skype and can video chat with up to 12 different people at once. Works over 3G, 4G, and WiFi. The video quality is very nice as well. Plus, it integrates seamlessly with Facebook to allow video calling to your Facebook contacts.

HTC Amaze without Data?

I have a question about the data...I can't really afford to get a data plan for 2 years even though I am available for an upgrade at this moment. I will talk to my mom about it too, but the main question is ; say I bought a used Amaze 4g, will it still function right without the 3g/4g? I heard somewhere some phones wont even boot without data or something like that...if thats false dont laugh at me :| but yeah, could someone please answer this question for me? My HTC HD2 is starting to get on the bad side now :\ Thank you.
it will work fine without data, heck you will get amazing battery life as 3g/4g uses alot more power. You wont recieve weather updates and some widgets wont function properly, but as a phone and a media device it will work flawlessly! enjoy your amaze

A second thought, which is what I'm about to do. Leave the contract and go for the $30 a month monthly4g plan. 5gbs of 4G, unlimited text and 100 minutes. If you run out of minutes use a voip app like Google voice and grooveip.

Buying a used phone is no problem. T-Mobile won't sell you a new phone without a data plan.

Youtube update(play videos on Aces' MIUI)

I just downloaded the new YouTube update because I noticed it fixed HD in 2.2 and 2.3. I was curious to see if it would allow the app to play while using Aces' MIUI rom and sure enough..IT DOES!!! Go into settings and set movies to play in high quality and bam...your YouTube app will work.
Just out of curiosity, were you on wifi when you did this? If I remember right, youtube worked fine when connected to wifi but not over cellular data.

Thats great then. I wonder if YouTubes fix is similar to what Ace needs to do to MIUI. Maybe its not set for an HD display? It seems like something Ace would have thought of though.
I sent a tweet to Ace but never got a response. But yes, I was using it on 3g and not Wi-Fi.

Cons are just the annoying bloatware
Great phone,highly recommend

On pretty much all smartphones wifi calling here in Asia works great. Blocked in the US now like in communist countries??
Coming from a Nexus 4 user, so not biased in anyway:
Pros-
By far the best phone out right now (far above the GS4)
No lag whatsoever
Supports all frequency bands (2G,3G,4G, LTE on all GSM carriers)
Solid feel
Amazing screen
Sense is beautiful (opinion)
Wi-Fi Calling ( I get bad service in my house so I miss this feature)
Cons-
Although the materials are good, build quality on some devices has been sub par
Not subsidized on T-mobile, makes me very nervous to attempt to purchase or trade for one due to the fact that it was most likely purchased on EIP.

enable 4g video calling

You must be rooted for this to work

post updated , its for gtalk
Perhaps not specifically at this time, though the features are there for android devices. In the process of rolling out facetime over cellular for iPhones, it appeared that lines of service with Android LTE phones gained a new feature that suggests video calling. (Its just called Video Calling)
I have a feeling something of this nature will roll out when AT&T rolls out with voice over LTE.
