Bought my SGS II off craigslist, did I get a good deal? I also need a few pointers - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Like the title says,
My previous phone was a captivate that had the in-ear speaker go out on me as WELL as the speakerphone, I mustve opened that thing 10 times trying to fix the problem about 'loose contacts' to no avail.
Anywho I went on craigslist and picked up a brand spanking new in the box SGS II for $350.
Whats your say on the price for a brand new phone with no contract?
A Steal
Great Deal
Good Deal
Bad Deal
Anywho i'm now running UnNamed rom on it and love it!
Does anyone have any other tips for this phone?
Last but not least whats the best 'soft' case for the SGS II? I had the rubber bodyglove case for my Captivate and I loved it. I want something similar for this

This has a lot of good info:
Tips and Tricks

I would say it was a great deal. Ones on ebay are going for around 390-400 for slightly used and 430-450 for brand new.

As far as case, check out the Rearth case, it is pretty well pulled off.

Any person who gets a GS2 for any price is a good deal... best phone ever!

Great deal! I got mine for $350, and an old motorola backflip

$350, no contract? Nice!
(I'd have even thrown in a KFC snacker.)

Traded my atrix for my at the time brand new sgs2 ... Im happy
OOwner even mailed it to me first since we lived kinda far away , that was a first for a craigslist deal for me.

I'd say that was a pretty good deal, its a great phone!!
Case selection is still quite slim, bought the My Case POP case originally but it adds bulk, I just got the SGP Neo Hybrid today and so far I love it, the two piece design should be good protection and the Reventon Yellow is pretty nice

Great deal, enjoy your awesome phone. Welcome to the land of epic...post and try out different roms(after you've rooted obviously and use the search).

Yup great deal.

you got yourself a nice deal there...hopefully it is not hot lol

I posts $450 out of contact the first week it was out brand new on craigslist and I thought I for a smoking deal. Your deal is amazing to say the least.

Who wants an otterbox for tilt2?

I have one still looks brand new, i used it for like a week. I dont care for it. I like how my phone looks without it lol. The bad thing about it thats annoyingm is how its made, is at the top where the power button is, is a little stiff on the otterbox, so you got to put double the pressure you would with the factory button would.
Idk a good price so i guess throw offers? Cost me 100 new. I am not asking anywhere near that though. Just figured i would sell it and recoup some money back at least.
I like mine...
Is it for postage or for sale?
i dont lol. Sale... interested? i edited the first post as i realize i didnt specify. sorry all.
Otter box Rox, Got mine, Plus 1, not giving mine over.
Is the otterbox still available? Just got a new screen and a new housing.. want to keep it looking new now....

Should I get the Note now or wait?

Hey Guys! I'm currently using an iPhone 4 and I am eligible for an upgrade with AT&T immediately. I am basically dead-set on getting the Samsung Note. It looks amazing and I'm a big fan of the huge screen (ex dell streak user!).
My question is: should I go ahead and do the upgrade now or wait for the price to drop? If I were to upgrade now it would cost me ~$300 not including taxes, etc. That price seems high to me. I know it's a great phone and everything but the prices are bound to drop, just like every other great phone before the note.
Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!
You could try to get it for $150 through Best Buy by following the trick in that other thread.
Specifically, follow this link:
http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/deals/linkshare-savings.jsp?partner=LinkShare&siteId=dZCX6Je2w8Q-sBG3oO9zQ5oOdYyuLQ44IA
Then select "New to ATT", add the note to your cart, add any plan and data plan, then go to check out. A $150 discount should be shown in the cart. Print out the cart, then go to Best Buy and say you would rather buy the phone in store and bring your business to them, and have them try to price match. It's worth a shot, though it may not work.

I will tell you my story. 4 months ago I had an upgrade available and bought the GS2. Loved the phone but my wife's phone died so I returned it and got her an iPhone. At the time I was thinking I would just buy the S2 cheaper in 4 months. Fast forward, the S2 is half the price yet I am going to spend more to get the note.
Moral of the story, get what you want now because something better will be out later.
Exactly get your device and enjoy it now. There will always be something new around the corner in android land.
I agree, get what you want now. If you wait till the price drops then another phone will be announced that you will end up wanting. Especially since MWC is happening this week.

I couldn't agree more, get what you want now. In my opinion this is the best phone I've ever owned.
If you're not signing on as a new customer...or not adding a line to an account...it's better to wait for the Note to drop further in price. Amazon currently sells it for $250 for all customers....which is still a rip-off considering there's no ICS yet for Note.
But I can understand if you currently only have 1 phone that is 'hanging by a thread'...then might as will make the purchase now.

I loved my Samsung Captivate, but the Note is my new love affair.
Whirling around fine on stock right now, but keeping my eyes on the dev threads.
Seeing all of these posts today around HTC and the new One X coming to AT&T had me bumming a little with the mad specs, but then I remembered I have a 5.3 inch HD screen.

Returned the note, went back to SII, thinking about coming back

There is something wrong with me.
I returned my galaxy note due to the fact that it wasn't as snappy as an S2 and i missed the huge selection of roms... and while I'm happy with the S2 overall (again).. i have found that nearly a month of using the note has shifted my priorities.
I now find myself missing the big screen size more than I thought I would.
Here's my dilemma.
I kind of want the note back. But I've done 2 reverse upgrades already (i'm indecisive as ****)
I got this S2 from walmart because the ATT store here didn't have the original S2 (lte market)
Will walmart let me do a reverse upgrade do you think?
and then would ATT still let me upgrade again?
Would you go back to the note if you were me?
I'm stupid. Feel free to make fun of me.
Call walmart and ask. Then call ATT. There is nothing we can do here.

Was really hoping for some opinions.
We all had the lag when it came out, but I'm oh SAUROM, overclocked etc and the Note is SUPER smooth! Not kidding, we're talking butter here...
Literally, ZERO LAG!
There are some seriously slick themes being made, too. Couldn't be happier!
No idea if you will be able to finagle any more upgrades, but if not, you can borrow my S pen to stab yourself in the heart!

I have a rusty butter knife. I'm not worthy of the s-pen stab.
Could have told you that lol. Anyone who was considering going back to a S2 after having a Note is Crazy!
Is there a tiny tiny bit of lag once and a while, sure but nothing I'd give the phone up for. I'm on the stock ROM btw. People get to crazy with the "lag" theory. Mines fast as hell, I just clear the RAM once and a while no probs.

Yeah, I'm realizing now that I would trade this smaller screen and zero lag for the bigger beautiful display and slight lag every once in a while.
The rom thing isn't as big to me as I thought it was.
I really hope I can reverse again.

you can.
i'd say get it from best buy if you have one near you. i'm biased (i work there selling phones) but i think it has great value.
typically you get someone who is more knowledgable (it varies, not everyone is a phone nerd)
you have the option to get a really good protection plan (no deductible, unlimited claims, water damage coverage, loaner phone, etc.)
and the option to get the buy back which will give you guaranteed $$ back when you trade in your phone w/in 2 years based on retail (its $60 normally, but if you have the protection plan for at least 1mo you get it half off, for $30. minimum you would get back is around your upgrade @ 20% of the RETAIL value which is $799.99)

Yeah, my girl owns the note. Since hers is the name on the account, she got the upgrade/re-up price. I was 3,000 miles away when she got em, so she's had hers a week more than I've had mine.
I admit I turned her onto the Note... I just couldn't stop blabbering about it compared to our Streaks. But she found the Streak not too long after it showed up at Best Buy, and after I went and abused one in the store, I gave the OK to go with the 5-inch candybar. We've had matching phones now for just over 2 years and she'll never be able to go to a smaller phone again.
It's a hoot at dinner parties when one of us takes out the phone (as it has been for a while) and someone, inevitably, comments; "My god, what is that? Is that a phone or a tablet?" Whichever of us had taken it out replies; "Yes, its both (Streak and Note... same difference for most people)" Then the person comes back with, "Wow, I've never seen anything like that before. That's almost too big, how can you use that? I doubt anyone could carry something that big. How do you carry it, does it even fit in your pocket?...." Then the other one of us will take out the other one. All conversation at the table stops. The inevitable iPhone comparison ensues.... 4 iPhones = (not really, but in screen real estate, close enough) 2 Notes. Pictures taken (if there are any phones left after the comparison laying of small useless phones on the big ones), jokes made... on both sides.... lol. "Wow that's so big" Me: "that's what she said" Her: "Why do you think I keep him around?" Them: "Are you compensating for something?" Me "What, both of us?" Them: "I'm not sure I could use something that size" Her: "Oh, I thought so too at first, but after a week or so I was used to it, and I could never have something smaller." Yeah, they are great icebreakers too... at anything from dinner parties to business meetings.

2. Go to Amazon they have a 30 DAY return policy and its 250 with free car charger and I believe target has it to.
3. Your just missing out

LoL @ over2land's story.
It is a conversation starter though - I've pulled it out standing in the back of an elevator with three people, and the guy standing in front actually came and stood next to me. Three guys shoulder to shoulder on the back wall of the elevator was pretty awkward.
The only other time I've ever had anyone stop me to ask about my phone was when I had the first generation iPhone [when it was still around $400 and not ubiquitous].
In the past three weeks of having the Note, I've been asked about it more times than ever with the iPhone.
This is why some people shouldn't have choices. Apple makes it easy for you... one new phone a year. No choices, no second guessing. And I can see why some people are happier with Apple for this very reason. But if you are going to be an Android user, you need to grow up a bit, make an informed decision, and be happy with it.
Then come to XDA and push that device as far as it can possibly go
My gf has the white note and never looking back. Her best friend bought one after playing with hers, she dumped her 4S and loves the screen size as well.

Great deal on lapdock!

Hey gang! 1saleaday.com has the Atrix Lapdock on sale today for only $49.99! These went super fast the last time. Easily modded to fit our Photons. I love mine!
Any ways...if you ever thought a lapdock could be cool, then now is your chance to pick one up for a great price.
nice reminder, i normally check there everyday. and forgot this time
but it is so obvious this is the wrong forum for that. (gosh i hate being this guy)

Sorry...put it in the Dev forum in case any Dev's wanted to scoop one up. Not a lot of work being done on many of the newer ROMS (ICS for one) with Webtop support...was hoping they'd see this and figure WTF...and scoop one up and look into adding Webtop to their ROMS.
I'm actually looking to buy lapdock for myself and test how it can be modernized, but still no luck to buy it since I'm from Russia. There is not too cheap shipping and also still no good offers which could allow me to use shipping to me. Checking news in those good deal threads every day
Another listing for this by 1saleaday for $59 with free shipping...

Got one. They are usually preowned
hope mines in good shape, got the protection plan as well.
Just ordered mine this morning! I payed $84, not bad at all in my book. Used, but the pictures of the Watch looked to be good shape. I'm, more or less, just satisfying a curiosity by buying it this cheap. Worse case scenario I can turn it around. Better than paying damn near $200 for it! For those still interested I used a Coupon Code from here: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/cowboom.com, and that saved me $60 off a pre-owned one! Sorry ahead of time if I wasn't supposed to post that link.
$69.99?? Wow...just wow...that's a serious no brainer!
got one as well..came in yesterday and flashed the ROM already.
trying to see what's different with the ROM..don't see any new watch faces..wasn't that one of the things the ROM has?
which one
Got mines yesterday! Got the white gold one as that was the only one I could get in stock. It came in a white small box with custom made foam pads, guess it did not come with the original box or a manual but that's okay! The watch looks brand new and the bands look new as well. I have ordered leather black bands to replace the white ones as I am not a fan of them haha. All in all so far it has been working great. The price was an awesome deal than the Moto 360 I had bought a while ago but sadly returned it as the hype got to me and the price was just a bit much for me right now.
Love my G watch, I think I made a good choice almost dished the money for moto360 but seen this deal and bought it on impulse
got mine in hands today, its awesome!
just an FYI, i peeled the top tape off my G and was in a meeting later that day & noticed it looked weird around the sides..there are actually 4 more pieces of tape around the watch edges:
2 that run down each side
1 on either side of microphone
so FYI, theres alot more plastic on this watch than it seems at first glance.
the best part is my watch came with bootloader unlocked, so all i need to do is root it
I got mine from cowboom as well. I was on the fence as to whether I even needed a smartwatch. So this deal was easy for me, as I was waiting for the G Watch R originally, but I also can't justify $200 - $300.
So far I like it. Haven't nearly begun to use it to its potential. I am not one to talk to devices, so it will take some time.

How can you tell if BL is unlocked?
If you restart your watch and see an open padlock, it means its unlocked, or you can enable developer options and adb reboot bootloader to check
