Best Screen Protector? - HTC Rezound

What do you guys think is the best screen Protector for the Rezound? I've tried Invisibleshield, but don't really like the orange peel or rubber feel. I also want something that covers the entire screen and has some fingerprint resistance. Also, anti glare would be nice, but I don't know if they make those. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

I also dislike the invisi shields. I hate the feel & when I had one on my Thunderbolt I ended up having to replace it twice.
right now I am enjoying using nothing but if I do get protectors its probably just going to be the basic cheapo ones.

I had a cheap one on my Incredible, then Invisishield, and now nothing for 3 months. I like it better without protection, personally. :-D

just like sexytime.
as Austin Powers once stated they're only needed by sailors who go from port to port.

I'm pretty paranoid about scratching my screen, but also VERY particular about the protector. I tried the ones from VZW, but couldn't stand how it changed the awesomeness of the RZ screen. Didn't like the eggshell feel of the Zagg or I'd go to Best Buy. Been using Steinheil on my DI1 and DI2, but when I checked last week, they still weren't available for the RZ. Same for Ghost Armor.
Hmmmmm.......

Empire $4.98 3 pack on eBay shipped.
Easy on and lasts

I just purchased a Skinomi Techskin screen protector off amazon. I read good reviews on them and I liked the lifetime warranty on them. I'll check back in when I get it.

Normal price $11.99 for a 5pack for ultra clear, $1.99 right now 8). If they suck oh well it's just $1.99 w/ free shipping. If they are good then gg, or they can be used as a place holder until something better comes out.

and meh idk if i like it. i hate screen protectors, but my boss was like, take one, just pop it on, idc..i was like agiht can't turn that down lol but still, there's one tiny spec of dust under it and it's pissing me off. hate screen protectors lol

how much of the screen does the screen protector actually cover? can we get a close up picture of it?

it's literally the whole screen, except like a milimeter off the sides. it goes down to the bottom of the bezel and is on the top of the bezel (has cutouts fro the camera and the light sensor)

Since I hate shiny screens, I used the same protector film as I have on my ipad2:
Speck Matte :
http://www.amazon.com/Speck-Product...SHKC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322019483&sr=8-1
I can probably make about 6 Rezound sized screen protectors from 1 sheet (the pack comes with 2 sheets...but 1 is on my ipad 2). I made using the crappy screen that came with the otterbox case as a template. Dhen you think you have it the EXACT right size, cut about 1/2 (half) a millimeter off all sides, otherwise you will get hung up on the edges and perpetual bubbles where the film catches the inner "edge/lip".
The matte film lasts long, is fingerprint/smudge resistant, and THANK GOD, its matte (not shiny).
Just be sure you REALLY clean the screen well prior to application, go slow and work out all the bubbles, and do it in a DUST/lint free environment (like a humid bathroom) or a cleanroom (if you have access to one).

god i HATE screen protectors! less than 12 hours on and this stupid ass thing has a damn scratch already. it's only been in my pocket ONCE since putting it on, and it was in there b yitself!
these things scratch if you put it on velvet. that's why i hate screen protectors lol i have a feeling i'll be taking this thing off in a day.

How scratch resistant is the screen? I had always used a screen protector with my Droid X (Steinhiel ultra clear). I hate them though but I am so OCD if I got a scratch on my screen it would drive me crazy. I would like to go without one cause the screen looks so much better.

just checked Steinheil and Phantom Skinz. Both dont have one yet. I emailed them both asking when we ca see it. They are the only ones I have ever used.
I refuse to use ZAGG/ Invisible shield

I bought the Verizon Screen Protector as a stop gap until better products hit the market. Unfortunately that was money wasted. It felt too slick and gave that rainbow effect whenever viewing anything with white background. Like oil on water, I guess because of the anti-glare treatment. I pulled it of after 1 day.
I just hope GhostArmor gets some skins out soon.

I'm looking for one that helps alleviate the fingerprints the most if anyone has any suggestions. I have a Zagg on my Bolt and I don't mind it but I want something a little less orange peel for the Rezound.

I think that the matte/orange peel/egg shell type textures do the most to make fingerprints less noticeable, but I don't know of any screen protectors that flat out repel fingerprints (oils and stuff). That would be really cool though.

[Q] Skinomi?? Anyone used them before?

Anyone familiar with Skinomi? I went looking for the Transformer on Amazon (no luck here yet) and noticed this Skinomi company selling a screen protector and carbon fiber back thingy for the Transformer: http://amzn.to/hDSr1m
I've always gone w/ Bodyguardz and BSE, but I'm not sure if I want the "rubbery" feel type protector this time around.
My wife recently got a protector for her nook and it's much smoother when dragging around on a touch display. It was more rigid/plastic film - as opposed to rubbery like Bodyguards (and I'm assuming that Skinomi).
She got it from an ebay seller, but there's no description there on what the actual material is: http://cgi.ebay.com/3x-SCREEN-PROTE...625?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf61a5df9
Anyone know what the more rigid/plasticy film types are referred to as - and who might sell them for tablets?
Have used skinomi screen protectors on past few phones and ipad1/2 and on xoom. I know some devices have gorilla glass, but i just like it being covered. Skinomi is my personal favorite after trying others like invisishield from zagg
I am currently using the skinomi screen protector and carbon fiber skin protector on my gtab. I really like the product and would recommed it. I'm in the process of selling my gtab and picking up the Asus transformer if I can find one at a local bestbuy.
Skinomi protectors are great for tablets that need one. The Transformer has Gorilla glass so no protector is needed.
Looking for a hard plastic (not film) screen protector myself. From what i'm reading it seems like the skinomi is a film, so it may be slightly grippy/textured like invisibleshields and bodyguardz. As for the back, the transformer's back is textured so i'm not sure how well the body film would adhere, if it was clear it has a big chance of looking like crap as it may not be able to get a tight fit, and if it was patterned, hell it might not even stick well and start peeling near the corners in short order.
How does the skinomi do with anti-glare? I want to get something mainly for the glare rather than the protection. Any suggestions?
I had the skinomi screen protector on my viewsonic gtablet but took it off after using it for about half a day. The material impaired the sensitivity of the screen when dragging. In Sketchbook mobile, this looked like a randomly broken line. Pressing harder didn't help the matter. Nor did recalibrating the screen.
On the plus side, there was no damage when taking it off!
I didn't see any significant improvement in viewing angle with the protector on the screen. As for glare, I never had my tablet out in bright sunlight but you could still see the reflected image of nearby light sources pretty clearly on the screen.
My 2 cents is that it's not worth it. The gorilla glass on these transformers is tough enough to resist scratches from dirty fingers and occasionally bumping from car keys and the like.
I bought two for the wifey and I. We actually like the feel of the screen protector. I'm super excited, I was one of the lucky few that got my order in at bestbuy when it was released on the 26th. Wished I paid for faster shipping though, but I will get it tomorrow.

I had a skinomi on my gtablet, with none of those issues. Its also the same material i have on my EVO. This is a wet apply skin, with the front it can take up to 24hrs for the screen to set and cure correctly, if you have moisture, or any creases , it will not work right. I recommend watching the video on the skinomi site for reference. The cool thing about the material though is that if you screw up you can carefully peel off and spray down and reapply. I have seen a lot of people in various reviews boo hoo the wet apply type protectors and I have to say that if done right they rock. I have already ordered one for mine because even though we have gorilla glass the skin will be easier to wipe smudges and oily fingerprints from and gives the screen a nice squishy tactile feel.
I sent them an email asking for a set consisting of screen protector, tablet skin and keyboard skin. Here's their reply:
Hello,
Because the tablet and the keyboard are sold separately, our kits for the tablets will only include the tablet itself. We will be selling the protectors for they keyboards soon.
Thank you for the inquiry.

How is the overall fit? The one for my Xoom was a good millimeter to small on each side. Does the one for the TF fit "all the way"? I think I'll order one soon unless there's one coming out with better anti-glare properties
it fits very well. the width is just a tad smaller, but nothing noticeable if you apply it right in the center, mine was a little off center by tiny bit. Overall very pleased with quality and their service.
I know I have gushed about how I like the skinomi....here is another reason...ordered direct from them on Friday again , this time for my tf that gets here tomorrow. The skin went from CA to Dallas over the weekend and got here today.

Moshi Screen Protectors?

Has anyone used Moshi screen protectors? Worth the $25?
Although my SGS2 has Gorilla Glass, thinking that AT&T's 3 pack (for $10) of CaseMate screen protectors would be a no-brainer and not have to worry about scratches on the screen. However, the store said they aren't carrying those for the SGS2 but that the Moshi is a much better protector.
Here's the link - $25 for one protector seems steep to me
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...sku=sku5370231&q_manufacturer=&q_model=#fbid=
I have it. Its nice because it covers the att logo.
Id like to figure out a way to nicely cut out the circles for the navigation buttons. Would be easier to find when the back light is off while in the dark

It is a nice screen protector, but is anti-glare (which some people like) and anti-glare protectors wash out the screen color some. I'm going to try out a couple cheap clear protectors and see if I like them.

i personally like them, it makes the screen "a little" darker, and probably to some diminish the quality, but it is just fine for me. i personally like the way they feel opposed to the glossy ones but to each his own.
Yea, I have a couple of friends that like anti-glare, and I can understand why. I just don't like how much it affects the screen appearance.
although even clear screen protectors affect the screen appearance some as will. I would like to go without one, but I work in a manufacturing environment so if I want to keep the phone in decent shape I have to.

I'm wanting to try some cheap ones off eBay and the SGP one.. but don't want to waste so much money on screen protector.. trying to wait for the SGP Neo Hybrid case to come out which it should include one screen protector. I really like the Power Support Anti Glare for iPhone 4 but then there isn't that option for the SGSII. Even though the screen is hard to scratch, I usually prefer having a screen protector just to ease myself from being paranoid lol
I love the Moshi, although I admit I'm not sure if I'd pay $25 for it.
I get 50% off of accessories, so after getting the Moshi for the Infuse, getting it for the GS2 was a no-brainer - especially given how many smudges I got on it in the hour I spent dumping the stock kernel.

Moshi with a Case Mate, both from the ATT Corpo store.
I love the moshi, but there are some odd rainbow color effect in the middle.
you should see if you can exchange it... i dont have that problem with mine
Im not seeing any rainbow effect... hard to tell with your background..
Here's the rainbow effect shown a little better. It's much more visible in person, however, it almost disappears when the screen turns on.
So, this isn't normal for these Moshi screen protectors? I should take it back for a new one?
Thanks

I just those anti-glare/fingerprint screen protectors from eBay. They're cheap and make the touch input very smooth.
I've been using the Boxwave "crystal clear" (not the "anti-glare" version) screen protector from Amazon. Works fine, fits well. One corner is lifting up a bit after re-applying 2-3 times, but they've promised to send me a replacement.
Pluses:
Dry application, no wet or "glue"
Reusable, manufacturer claims can be removed and washed (I've done it, but the edge is lifting up at one corner; was doing it before I washed it)
When applied without bubbles, can't tell it's there -- really!
Makes it easy to use screen with stylus and finger
Price ... much less than carrier store protectors
I don't like the Zagg stuff. Body protection is fine but makes the screen a pain to use. I am using RealLook Crystal Clear screen guard right now. Had it on my Vibrant before and had to use it again on the amaze. Cannot even tell that you have a screen guard on.

Fingerprint resistant screen protectors are awesome!!! I had it on my G2x....
Its a pain for me because of the rubbery texture it has to it. So sliding motions and other gestures don't feel as smooth as it should be. Plus the edges have some glue that leaks out to the side over time and it becomes a lint and dust magnet.

I like the invisible shield, I just like knowing that if I put my phone in my pocket no surprise scratches will come out with it. I've tried a lot of screen protectors and they all seem to piss me off after a while. I got used to having an invisible shield, so it's always going to be my first option. As for that glue leaking out, I haven't seen that happen in the past three years so I wouldn't know what you're talking about lol.
Just a matter of preference and yeah I've had Zagg for the last 3 phones I've had and that freaking glue gets me every time lol.

Clean the nude screen with a microfiber cloth first. Then apply the screen protector from one side (or top or bottom), smoothing out bubbles as you lay it down. If you get a little bit of lint on the underside (almost always happens to me), I found that using a reverse rolled-up "mitten" of Scotch magic transparent tape, or (better) blue painter's masking tape (your local hardware store will have it), gently patting the underside will pick up the lint spots.
Depending upon the screen protector, smoothing out bubbles once it's on seems to work if you take a cooking spatula (silicone or rubber) and use the flat edge to smooth them out. I have a silicone-edged pot scraper, but that's a bit too firm. Ideally, find one like a KitchenAid with removable blade part so you can handle it easily without the handle getting in the way.

Screen protector?

Are you guys using a screen protector on this phone? It seems that one may be unnecessary with the gorilla glass 3 we have on this thing. I'm still debating whether to get one or not.

yeah im using the one that came with my spigen neo-hybrid but its a fake and its already bubbling. Im thinking of getting a glas t slim glass protector because its so clean and slim. If you plan on selling the phone later on then you should.
Using an SGP crystal. Even gorilla glass 3 can scratch if it meets something like sand. I may go with a glass protector eventually.
I'm using the iLoome Screenmate glass protector and love it. Only thing is it does not have rounded edges like some do. I would recommend iLoome or MIME for tempered glass protectors. The MIME has rounded edges and you can use coupon code "bbq" for an additional 11% off plus free shipping through Monday for memorial weekend. I used both on my iPhone 5 and both companies have excellent customer service.
I got Tech Armor for just under $6 for 3. It's very nice and clear although I don't know about durability.

Yeah I was bummed when I removed the OEM screen plastic from my nex4 cause that same day I put my keys in my pocket with my phone for all of ten minutes. Still have the little marks it made.
I bought a screen cover after that and ripped it off a few days later cause my diztronic phone case was messing up its edges that went all the way to the rounded glasses ends.
Had I kept the original it would still be perfect I bet. Still good though just saying I learned that the OEM is fine for a long time.

It's a good idea to use one anyway. I had someone at the Verizon store apply mine for me.
Steinheil oleophobic on mine. Can't even tell it is there and feels just like glass. Keeps fingerprints minimal too.

I almost left the default on my replacement, I never saw such a decently placed factory protector in my life. In the end though I decided to give my SGP a try and do it in the bathroom after I got out of the shower. Using the hinge method, this is the first time I've never gotten a speck of dust on the screen and placed it 99% perfectly. Can't get much better than this:

The only flaw I see is around the front facing camera, it could have been moved to the right a micrometer. Actually, looking at the home button cutout, I think that's more of a cutting issue on SGP's side because that looks perfect vertically and horizontally.

Looks great to me. I normally get the SGP Ultra Crystal for my devices, but I was thinking about trying the GLAS this time around. Since the original protector is clear and doesn't have lines or writing on it, it has given me some more time to make my decision. Which version of the SGP are you using?

That's what I'm using, the SGP Ultra. Got it for 50% off when I bought the case from them. First experience with them, but both case and screen protector are very nice.
I started using screen protectors on the note 2 and this phone after all the phones I own. Because I don't notice a difference in quality or feel. And find it much easier to clean. and the slightest hair line scratch will drive me crazy. I'm not awesome at putting them on. So when I get devices. I make the salesmen put it on. And if it's not mint they try again and again till its perfect or I don't want it and won't pay for it haha.

Accessories Good glass protection for screen

I'm in the USA and waiting for the phone to ship to me. I need tempered or glass protection for the screen. I keep looking on amazon but all I see are reviews with switched products. any one recommends one that's not shady?

can confirm, works great
Im using the whitestone dome glass and works perfect me, I know some people do have issue with the FPS not being reliable, but I have no issues with the FPS and works perfectly fine for me.
It looks very similar to the one I have and also works great. IMBZBK.

FPS? Frames per second? How a glass on top of device screen affects FPS!!??
Yo! so I have been using my s23u naked for the last 2 months and now I think i should get a glass protector to protect the screen since this will be expensive if I drop it... I am looking for something good and worth the price, some mentioned whitestone but that is 50 USD in sweden.. any other good options you are satisfied with that costs less? I do not want to use any case since that makes this sleek device fat and ugly (no body shaming pls!) but i guess the glass protectors are cool that can save the display from one or two drops..

Not sure if you're trolling or are genuinely confused.
But just in case it's a genuine query, he means FingePrintScanner.

Ive tried a few and they are all **** or average in comparison with other brand that gives you a WELL placed protector from factory.
Ive email samsung about this BS ''save the planet so no protector nor charger '' ****, and we have to order , get ship by plane/truck , stuff, and found this is ****, and re-re-re-order.
Anyway, I got the Mowei UV glued protector, and the stikyness power is good as masking tape. If you get the phone in your pockets and the corner of the glass touch the pants, and will unstick.
Oh you think with a case it will be fine? no, cases are often soft, so they will contact the glass and unstick it.
It will create huge bubble. However, You can stick back the glass with minimal bubble left.
Protector are not only for protector the glass , but also the oleophobic coating. I use to have my phone naked, but after few years, the glass is full time greasy because it come a finger print magnet since the coating is gone.
10 days after receiving it, waiting on my Amazon protector shipment, was sitting and dropped my phone from my lap to hardwood floor .
Back top left corner had many small cracks running into the lenses

Sad story bro. I always order a Spigen case as soon as I order the phone. Cheap insurance to tide me over until the case of choice becomes available.
I used this one here and so far it's been a good experience. You get the whitestone dome quality w/o the messiness. And I'm rocking it with the Ringke Onyx Case with no lift.

Which one?
Two things I'd wish they'd do:
Stop with the curved screens. Tits on a bull!
Second, ditch the behind the screen FP reader. Put it in the power switch. Anyone that's owned a flip/fold knows how well they work.
Then we could have FLAT tempered glass screen protectors that stay put and look great for a long time.
Mous is nice, wish the carbon fiber one was in stock!
I use this when I want that naked experience and still have protection similar to a skin:

I have the same one on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and the phone fell off a chair onto a slate floor backside down and I thought for sure it was going to be a bad day. Nope, phone unscathed. Thought the case was OK too but later when I took it off it had a crack running all around the area covering the camera bump.
I got the UAG Pathfinder for the S23 Ultra, yeah it's on the bulky side but I probably could drop it down the stairs and it would be fine. ;-) That's what I use when working outside.

Its better to use a Screen Protector Film because the device has a curved screen. I really dont know if there are any good Tempered Glass for curved screen so I went with a Full-Body Screen Protector from Gadgetshieldz since they not only have Matte options but their Full-Body covers the back panel, sides, top, bottom and also the camera module. I didnt want any scratches at all so I covered my phone completely with this. Went with the Clear for the Screen and the rest were all Matte cause I love the finish.
Although, recently I wrapped my S23 Ultra with skins cause I was getting bored of the look but I still have the Clear Screen Protector on.
Im in love with the grip they provide, feels soo good on touch!
