[Q] sim card does not lock in place - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
The sim card does not lock in place, when I push it down it
just pops up again. Is it defect or am I doing something wrong?
EDIT: Solved it, had to use a scissor to push it down all the way

Do you mean that when you turn the phone on you get the 'enter pin' message before you can use the phone. After you enter your pin do you find that you have no network service so you can't make phone calls or send texts? If so you also probably have an icon in the top right of the statusbar that looks like a sim card with an exclamation mark (!) in it. I too have this problem. My only solution is to remove the sim protection so now I don't get the 'enter pin' message when I turn the phone on. Obviously this is not good if I lose my phone.
Thank You, but today I gave the phone to warranty.. :-/ If they don't solve the problem, I will try Your method. Thank You so much! If I get back my phone, I will write in this topic everything about it.
[SOLVED] SIM card lock - no service (SIM icon with exclamation mark)
I have found the cause of my "No service" problem. It shows a SIM icon with an exclamation mark in it on the status bar.
I used to have a PIN code set under Settings-->Location & security-->Set up SIM card lock-->Lock SIM card. However, when I got this "No service" problem I had to remove the SIM card lock to actually be able to use my phone to make phone calls.
The problem was that I also had set Settings-->CyanogenMod settings-->Tablet tweaks-->Disable lockscreen-->TICKED. I had set this because I wanted my phone's screen to turn back on quickly by simply pressing the back button instead of using the lockscreen slider.
It seems that disabling the lockscreen prevents the "Enter PIN code" screen from being displayed and so I could not enter my PIN.
As well as having to do Settings-->CyanogenMod settings-->Tablet tweaks-->Disable lockscreen-->UNTICKED it is also necessary to turn the screen off then back on (e.g. press the power button to turn off then the back button to turn on). When the screen turns on the "Enter PIN code" screen will appear.
I think should be classed as a bug but I am not sure on what?

Call log history app that has own database?

Hi there, I am searching for an app that can keep a call log in its own database and not read the one off the phone.
My problem is that I have a 2in1 sim card and whenever I switch from one phone number to the other with the Sim Toolkit, the phone thinks that the sim changed and resets my call log.
Another problem it has (for which I dont really care) is that whenever I enter the Contacts app, it says, new sim detected, copy new contacts to phone? but thats nothing.
Thanks.

[Q] Flash/root to JB, all message/calls lose contact info?

Helo all! I know i am a noob here so i doubt anyone will help but.... I have an issue!
First, thanks to all who worked and figured out how to root and get JB on the Tmobile P769, awesome job!
Before reading any further i should state i searched the heck out of this subforum to find my answer but either im using the wrong search criteria or noone has ever run into this before.
Here is my issue, after rooting and flashing to JB all the contact info for my messages and phone calls is lost.
Basically both of these will only use info from the sim card and NOT the joined contacts i have set up in the phone (profile pic, ringtone, fb, ect). When i save said contacts to the phone (again) and rejoin them, it gives me multiple phone profiles but after i reboot it goes back to reading from the sim card.
For those i dont have on my sim card everything is fine and the joined contact info shows up.
Obviously i could just delete all contacts from my sim card as a fix but i was wondering if anyone had this same issue or knows how to get around this? Am i missing some option in the setup to push contacts from the phone and not the sim card?
Also, on the Contacts tab under settings -> display options -> choose contacts to display: i have it set for Custom; Phone/Starred/Facebook.
Thanks for helping me with this annoying problem and i hope to help others with there questions in the future as a return!
just wanted to post that some how i magically fixed this.... im not sure what i did tho! haha.
I was deleting contacts from my SIM card, it crashed, came back and everything was fine. Short of not recognizing my sim card and needing to reboot the phone, it was like magic.
Thread can be closed as im not sure what i did to fix and wont be able to help others if they have the same issue.

[Q] Samsung SG4 SGH-1337 Sim restart

Hello so I have been having issues with my sim card. A message pops up asking to restart my phone because no sim card is detected. But I changed my sim card the issue didn't appear as often now it began to appear more often. I read somewhere that certain apps are causing that issue. Is there a way to find out which applications so I can delete them?
