[unSOLVED] My Photon's Market App Will Not Dowload/Update Any Application.

- A Rooted Photon

I have tried on WiFi, 3G, and 4G.
I had some problems this morning while updating some apps..they came back as package invalid...but eventually going to market and retrying the update worked. Be patient, try it again...usually wifi is best for me.

Agreed. When that happens to me, I usually wait til there's more than one app to update, and they all update after using the "update #" button.

The phone is back to doing the same thing.
I have to deal with the phone being slow, and the sleep of death, even after the latest update.
I cannot install any applications, nor update.
I have had the worst luck with this phone, I am going to 'SBF it back to stock, because a factory reset will not get rid of the battery icon modification.
I'm gonna return it to Sprint for a new one. I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS PHONE!!! Why is it only me with this bad luck? No one else has these issues on the forums, I am always the one posting with these problems, myself alone! This phone is bad luck for me. I love it, when it works.

I don't know if this affects anyone else but I have noticed that on more than one occation that if I hold down the power button and click restart phone that the phone will power down but will not reboot. I have to manually power it back on. Not a huge deal but wanted to see if this is happening to anyone else.

It's happened twice today.. This and touchscreen issues I'm pretty sure will be fixed with update coming.
I also get the touch screen issue. It only works on someplaces of the screen.

Two possible solutions.
First, try clearing app data and cache (settings --> apps --> manage apps --> xda). If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
Factory data reset clears most issues I've had (especially if you just upgraded to ICS and havne't done so yet. my gmail app was acting wonky after the upgrade and has been fine since FDR). FYI it'll erase your "SD card" so be sure to back up if you do this option.

I had the same problem, I upgraded to XDA Premium and everything works just fine now. If clearing cache etc. does not work, I'd spend the $1.50 and upgrade; I think it is worth the price for all the work these guys do and the knowledge that can be found in these forums!

What rom are u using? Maybe flash a different ron to see if a software issue. Or do a factory reset.

I'm running the default stock Rogers rom.
If you're on the east coast, midnight is coming up. Check it. To test, just have your phone locked and screen off at midnight, and watch it. It doesn't reboot.. just flashes on and off quickly.
It's quite possible there is an app I have installed that is doing this, so tonight I plan on checking it with logcat. I'll report my findings afterward (PST).
You sure its not notifying you something but I would go with the posses idea. I see dead people comes to mind.

Its probably some app scheduled to do something at midnight over your wifi.
I know my Captivate used to do the same thing, any time the wifi was used, the screen would turn on briefly (less than a second) and turn off the screen while doing whatever it was doing over the wifi (like Beyondpod when it went to update my podcasts, the screen blinked on/off, then immediately after the screen turned off, it started checking for new episodes and downloading).
So it's either APOD, or it's my system. Those are the only two culprits. I'll uninstall APOD and report back tomorrow.
okay so while i was at the fair tonight, i rode one too many rides and threw up on myself and had to go home (lame me) and in the process of getting in the car i stripped down to my boxers and shoes in order to not get vomit all in my car. well stupid me forgot to take my phone, which i had layed on top of the car, off of the top of the car before i left and didn't realize it until i got home... my question is does anyone know any apps that can decently ping the phone without the gps being on (or turn the gps on and do it) it has my google account on it so i can load apps but i can't set them up... please help i just got this phone last week and love it...
There are plenty of free apps in the play store under 'lost phone' - everyone I've ever tried you had to setup on your phone first. Do you have insurance? Either way brother, good luck finding it.

I'm running CM9 final and haven't had any issues lately. Today I received texts up to a certain point from some Ppl and some I didn't when they texted me. I can send out but get nothing back. Phone calls work fine and so does my data... Any ideas? Please help!

Well it's a pretty stable build. Which they wouldn't have released if SMS didn't work. Which means its user error. Either it's a setting u changed. , an app u have running, or u didn't full wipe before installing. Best guesses at least. Good luck , happy flashing

I posted in CM9 only cuz that's the run I'm on, but thought I should post in question and answers instead. I will remember that next time. I've been on CM9 for quite a few days now and exec today I have been getting texts then all of a sudden nothing... I haven't changed anything, I was working most if the day.

I had good luck following this guide for setting up APN on I777 on CM9 , it is for ATT. It is from Infuse forums but it works anways. If it doesn't there is an option to reset to default.

*update* I ended up calling Att and tech support. After some trouble shooting he had me put my Simon into another phone to "wake it up, or un freeze" it then put back in my phone. I then got 18 texts when phone turned on. He said sometimes the Sim card gets confused from switch between towers and locks up. So really was an easy fix. Hope this helps anyone else. Thanks for suggestions!
