[Q] Camera app that will enable to take photos one after another, like in iphone - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,in my SII,I take a photo and I must go back to take another...
In my friend's iPhone,he can take a several photos in time I take one.
How do I change it?
Thanks.

I don't have to go back, after taking a photo I can just take another one, so I don't quite get your problem....

When I take a photo, the next screen that shows up is the photo that I just take.
In iphone,I have the ability to take another photo because the photo that I just take are saved...

How did you manage that? I find it annoying how the picture disappears as soon as I take it. I've looked through all the camera settings but cant find how to leave the picture on the screen.

K if you turn review on you will see the pic you just took, review off let's you take multiple pics.

There is no such option in my phone's camera settings. I only have the following:
edit shortcuts,
self portrait,
flash shooting mode,
scene mode,
exposure value,
focus mode,
timer,
effects,
resolution,
white balance,
iso,
metering,
outdoor visibility,
anti shake,
auto contrast,
blink detection,
guidelines,
image quality,
gps tag,
save as flipped image (grayed out),
storage
and reset.
Is there another set of settings that I have missed?
could it be the Rom I'm using (Simple+&+Clean+v1.3)? however, I've used other Roms in the past and have never seen this option

Camera shutter lag: is that only me!?

Hi all, I've recently become tha proud father of a wonderful little lady D) and that's a crucial info to understand the fllowing question:
is that only me experiencing camera shutter lag?
I mean, I cannot ask my son to freeze when taking picture of her and now I see that there's about 1 or maybe 1.5 second lag when hitting the shutter button before the picture is taken. This leads to many blurry pictures! Annoying indeed!!!
Having bought the phone a month before my son was born, I didn't notice this problem at the beginning.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I could find any post dealing with it!
Thanks in advance
That's not lag, that's due to focus taking time to adjust. You have to hold the camera button first to lock the focus, the view pointer will turn green, then you need to press it again to take photo.
And turn on Anti-Shake option under Settings.
BTW- Congratulations for becoming dad. Post a photo of your little angel if you can.
Regards.

Hi, thanks for your reply and even more for your congratulations!
MAybe I was not that clear, my fault, of course first of all I tap to focus and only when the box turns green I press the shutter button. Anyway, there's 1 second (sometimes a little more) before the picture is taken!
That is the lag I'm talking about.
Just to be crystal clear: I own an iPhone 4 and there's absolutely no lag when I press the shutter button, even if I don't get the focus first!
Now I get your point, but I think its normal. I think it also depends on the ISO settings, higher the ISO is faster the photo taking time and vice versa. Maybe when you have lag, you are shooting at night or low light conditions. Try to set the ISO at a higher level and see if the problem persists.
Regards.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
Anyway, it would be better to have such a setting automatically, without having to set everytime the camera manually!

it is an automatic setting, but it is set up to take the best quality picture, not the quickest. i would suggest changing it to sports mode on the scene settings.

SGS2 ICS Camera..

Has anyone else noticed the Camera app on ICS for the SGS2 is really weird? For instance, I take a photo and it will show the photo in full colour but then when I click on the photo in the bottom left (portrait mode) the image is missing half its colour until I press the return key, the colour comes back but as expected the image shuts and goes back to the camera application. Then when I view the photo in the Gallery application, the image is in full colour. Any thoughts on this or is it only happening to me?

I think it happens just because the auto-mode in the screen bright settings, try it with full bright and you'll see is it keep happening.
I remember also there's an option to set max bright when you take a picture so that can be the reason too.

That's what "outdoor visibility" setting does automatically whilst using the camera. After you exit the camera, it returns back to autobrightness or whatever your setting is.

The problem is probably in your rom, change to hydrog3n
No you guys think too much.....
When you are on auto bright your picture also is dim when you watch in gallery, you need to be set Max bright.
That's what he (OP) was asking

oh yeah, it gives you a different screen brightness on your camera, it should be somewhere in your settings, if not just play with the screen brightness till they look the same
dude. it has yellow tint now, which is worse than blue tint, blu tint sharper, thus better!

[Q] can the laser focus be disabled?

I am getting really frustrated with the auto-focus "feature" on this phone. Is there any way to disable it so I can actually focus on what I want to take a picture of? Some sort of macro mode would be super helpful. Is there a setting somewhere that I missed?
Do you have the options on the screen when you take a photo? Otherwise, just tap on your target to take the picture with them/it in focus. Otherwise, use the Magic Focus feature to adjust focus after the picture is taken.
Aside from that, to do manual focus, you'll have to use another app, like Focal or any other camera app.

Put the camera in the mode where the shutter is on the side. Then you just tap on whatever you want to focus on in the screen, it focuses than you hit the shutter button.

Oh yeah! Derp!
Idk. But u must try focal app for more difficult shots. It gives tons of exposure zoom and filter options.
Okay, I finally got it. Thanks very much. At first I was never leaving it in "option" mode, I would always go back out of it before taking pictures. I totally missed this until you mentioned it.
To clarify in case anyone else is unclear:
-click the "3 dots" button at the top of the camera screen to open up the options mode.
-In addition to the various mode, settings, etc. buttons at the top, there will also be a shutter button at the bottom.
-In this mode, the shutter button will take the picture, and touching anywhere else will create a focal point.
I went all through the pdf manual and didn't see anything at all about this.
Too dark if i have even a bit light in front of camera
Still cant find a good option to make a photo when i have even a bit light towards me. It shows totally dark at the shadow part. Exposure doesnt go as i want. Does it have also a Manual Focus?

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but if you tap the three-dot so that the options come up, wherever you tap on the screen I believe is where it'll focus on, then use the camera button at the bottom to take the picture.

I know what u mean but still doesnt make a big difference about focusing when i want. And i meant...exposure. If there is a tree in nature and is sunny weather and under the tree is dark coz of shadow...and i want to focus exposure in that dark part...coz there is a flower or a rabbit...this exposure doesnt work. I dont mind if the tree becomes overexposured. I hope u understand me. Thank u for replying.

If the manually choosing where to focus in the stock camera app isn't doing the job, I'd try a third-party camera app. It sucks it won't use the laser focus but there's a chance a more professional app would do the job. At least if you buy a good app you can test it right away and refund it quickly (limit was 15 minutes but it might've increased again - I can't keep track). Good luck! I'm sure we'll all appreciate your findings if you experiment. You're welcome!

Questions about Z5 Compact Camera

I am considering this device for my next phone but had a couple of questions about the camera. It is important to me to be able to take pictures in quick succession (like taking multiple photographs of moving objects etc.).
1. On some of the other competing phones, I've noticed the ability to take a bunch of photos in quick succession, with no lag (the phone is ready to take the next picture immediately after taking a picture). I have read on a couple of sites that after a picture is taken, the Z5/Z5C takes a second or two to save it, so that the camera is not immediately available for the next photo. For those who have experience with this phone, what has been your experience?
2. Is the camera experience on the Compact similar to that on the Z5 or are there any differences?
Thank you!
You can't take pictures in quick succession like that sadly. It takes a while :/
Thanks. Is the lag true of all modes (superior auto and manual) and all resolutions (8 my and 23 mp)?
Also, I read in a different post that by turning something called the 'Photo Analyzer' off, the lag between photos can be eliminated. Has any Z5C owner tried this out, and does this do as described in that post?

You can use timeshift burst for Sony. It's an app in playstore.
It shoots 60 pics in 2 seconds, a bit lower quality but still good enough.
Edit: I made a quick video, so u can check it out while not having this device (yet?)

I think Photo Analyzer created lagging in older and slower xperia but I don't found any different yet on Z5c before or after disabled it. I never use stock album(even disabled it...lol) probably Photo Analyzer won't mess me.
23MP is slower than expected but 8MP is fast(still slightly slower than my S6 but close to it). You'll need to switch to Sport Mode to shoot moving objects, so only 8MP available to you because scene mode limited to 8MP.

Thanks for the reply! Two questions:
1. When you talk about 8MP being slightly slower than the S6 - in practice, let's say to photograph my dog, is this sufficiently fast enough? Is there a clear wait time after a photo is taken before I take the next one?
2. In Sport mode, is the lag negligible enough that I can shoot multiple back-to-back photos?
Thanks!

In SuperAuto or Manual, you can take fast photos. sort of. If it has to do an autofocus, you have to wait. However if you take successive photos without the focus needing to change much, it is fairly fast. Like less half a second. However, if I tap as fast as I can, it can't keep up. Maybe 1 photo for every three taps.
Timeshift burst cant take photos very fast (8MP). However its a little annoying. You have to switch to that "mode" (basically start that app) if you want to do a timeshift photo. When you are in that mode, I think you are constantly taking photos. Once you hit the "shutter" it gives you -15 +15 photos or so. You can select which one you want, but when I goto the gallery, they're all still in there. It's not as convenient as on the iphone for example. On there, you just hold down the shutter and it takes photos for however long you hold it down. Then you choose what you want and the rest are deleted.

In older xperia like Z1/Z2, Timeshift burst only takes 1920x1080 photo resolution(2MP). Is that increase to 8MP now on Z5c?

Yes I use it for thunderstorm lightnings especially. You can save 1 (or more) of those 60 shots separately and afterwards delete the timeshift pictures.
You can also review the timeshift pictures via stock album app.
However, if u decide to use another album app, you'll be a bit annoyed by every timeshift picture shows 60 pics that's why I delete the timeshift pics after saving the best 1 or 2 separately.
BTW, just made another video of an timeshift shot of a thunderstorm lightning I did last year with my old Xperia Z (C6603) https://youtu.be/ROmoWD_c9hM

coming from a Lumia 930.. this z5c camera is.. terrible.
- Really slow shot burst (1 photo takes more than 1 second to save)
- When shooting at 23 mpx do yourself a favor and never, NEVER zoom it to 100%. Its only TERRIBLE.
- Low light and you can't use any flash? Don't try to take any photo at all. its just crap.
- Camera app "manual mode" is not manual at all. Changing the SCN (scene mode, night, portrait, food) is NOT manual by any mean
- Apps like Manual Camera (with all the real manual controls) just crash when you try to set iso, shutter time or manual focus (i read somewhere its caused by sony camera firmware, i don't know if its the real reason)
- When Camera is on the phone gets hot REALLY quickly, otherwise is always cold as ice.
- Timeshift video app is awesome
so.. yeah, decent camera, but i still cry when i see my old Lumia930's photos

I think the current build is beta and got very high expectation on 6.0, if Sony doesn't fix the camera I'll consider to sell it out. But other than the camera, the screen, waterproof(no usb flag), stereo speaker are all real upgraded when compared to older Z1c/Z3c.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/disappointed-z5-camera-pictures-quality-t3217766/page82
There are a couple of guys on Z5 board keep repeating Z5 camera all around better than S6, G4/V10 or Lumia which made me laugh out though.

Camera - Need more burst shots

So I got my LG V30 about a week ago and have been playing with it and i'm very happy with this phone.
However i have been playing with animated photos for years and my S7 use to take 100 burst shots at a time. The LG V30 stops at 30. Is there any way to increase the amount of shots it takes in burst mode?
There are zero options for adjusting burst shooting in any camera app I have. Which is a shame as I would love to turn it off in the LG app. Twice I've triggered it accidentally and it keeps going after I remove my finger from the shutter button. Pretty certain I've seen one group of 41 photos at one point. I thought maybe there would be something in time lapse but I don't understand the one setting they have in there at all. I even looked at the Motion Stills app and there's no settings in there either.
